J2381: first things first, I'm not an atheist. Never have never been. Though it seem all what you religious folks believe in is making unverified assumptions.
So I wonder who is discriminating against who here. LOL. Since you've denied being non-religious, hope you know you're among those religious folks that falls under your generalization? |

krattoss: On this gay stuffs..
To me I personally don't have anything against them as far as they don't force it down anyone throat.
I even find lez's more attractive, romantic than straight girls Life evolves..we should too. @emboldened, most straight men do but will be the first to attack gays. Hope you're seeing the hypocrisy I'm against? |

KoiceReloaded: Hypocrisy, bro. It's okay to _shit on gay people, but god forbid other people _shit on him because of his lack of belief. People like him are quick to attack the white man for racism, while simultaneously being racist towards gays themselves. They are very selective in their reasonings, and if you try to show them the blatant flaws in their brain-dead logic, they'd tag you as gay.
I mean, how can you even get through to someone like that? It's really sad. You've said it all. Nothing else to add. |

J2381: hope you know this is how it starts. Pretty soon pedophiles will start saying they're being discriminated against. Is that not how you atheists started? How come you are against religious people discriminating against people like you that don't believe in God but are okay with people discriminating against people for their sexual preference? |

KoiceReloaded, abeg, help me out with the links of season 2 and 3 of Line of Duty. Want to start watching the series but unfortunately for me, I'm yet to see sites with its full seasons in one place. Season 4 and 5 only are in TFPDL. I've downloaded season 1 in another site, just need to download season 2 and 3 before going over to TFPDL to download the rest season. Come through for me, bro. |

error4040: The movie is so over hyped, to me John wick is nothing but another Failed Agent 47 That movie is very average to me. Still can't figure out why it's overhyped on this board. The part 1 was below average, the part 2 was a bit above average. |

KoiceReloaded: Fans have not been impressed with season 8 of GoT so far. Overhyping and over expectations don kill expectations finish. Hehehe
Meanwhile, Infinity War: Endgame is now officially the SECOND HIGHEST grossing movie of all time! The MCU epic is currently grossing $2.194B! Wow! It's gonna happen folks. Endgame is gonna smash the world record. It's official now. That hype surrounding it will make it the highest grossing movie of all time. Just watch, it'll beat Avatar's record very easily and in a record time for that matter. |

JeromeBlack: Don't listen to this guy. The movie is okay.
I am not into African American "black" comedies ala Tyler Perry. However, this movie is enjoyable. It might be silly but you'll enjoy watching it with babes or friends What you may like, I may not like it. It's all about preferences sometimes. You hate The Great Wall and can't stand the movie, while I like it and think the movie is okay entertainment wise but not plot wise. Same for What Men Want. Immediately I was done with it, I deleted it. It's just an average movie to me, nothing too nice about it. |

J2381: You're using what happened in Europe as a basis for your argument. You should kkow Africa and Europe aren't the same. Not now, not ever. We're not the same, but their actions influence us a lot, truth or not? The English we're speaking, the rap music our musicians are singing, the bikinis our ladies are wearing, the cars we drive, the planes we fly, the house we live in currently are all ideas of the West. |

J2381: thousands of you compared to the millions out there who would kill Bobrisky on sight?
Beside, if you truly consider Tonto Dikey a Christian, then I should tell you, you yourself isn't a Christian. Na, wa o. Did I ever disagree that religious people are intolerant than tolerant ones? My stance has been that the number of tolerant religious followers have increased vastly. This is the truth. Bro, there's a vast difference between being a born again Christian and a Christian. If you go to church, pray to Jesus, read your Bible and believe the things/doctrines in it, you're a Christian. But practicing what God has commanded us to do in the Bible is what makes one a born again Christian. Tonto is not a born again Christian neither am I |

abdurrazaq: I think I have to say something on the issue of tolerance.
The level of tolerance noticed in man is first, a function of his biological make up or nature and not primarily his religion. Culture, race and the likes may play roles in escalating such tolerance/intolerance traits in a man yet, the level of tolerance can still be traced back to the person's creation.
The level of intolerance in some ethnicity/race is high (e.g. Arabs, Persians, Fulanis/Hausas) while it is relatively low in some {e.g Yorubas, Chinese } that's why you will see that an average person from such race/ethnicity explodes either easily irrespective of their religious affiliations.
In short Man needs a coverup to perpetrate the evils in him. He either use religion as a coverup against a fellow countryman with a different belief or; race/ethnicity against a man from another race who shares his belief.
Most of the atrocities committed using religion as justification are by naturally violent people racially or culturally. They either deliberately twist the teachings of their religion or lack indepth knowledge about the teachings of their religion. I beg to differ on your last paragraph. Someone that's naturally non-violent can become violent once he associates himself with a toxic association/religion. Research thoroughly and see cases of individuals that had no violent history but became terrorists when they got into radical Islam. There's a reason someone said religion is the opium of the masses. Don't underestimate the power of religion. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 1:48pm On May 06, 2019 |
J2381: that is you. You can't use yourself as a yardstick to compare millions of other Christians in Nigeria. I'm not alone. There are thousands of us. Tonto Dike's religion is Christianity and she's a good friend with a transgendered man, Bobrisky. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 1:45pm On May 06, 2019 |
J2381: funny they're tolerant to gays and not blacks. Do people actually go to jail in West for racism?
May be the numbers will rise in the west, but in Nigeria, I seriously doubt it. As long as religious intolerance and religious extremism are weapons, they will continually be used against those who fall prey to it. Simple. Can you compare the racism in the era of our forefathers to the racism now? For fvck sakes, Blacks once couldn't vote in America but the past president of America is a black man. Blacks once upon a time were picking cottons as slaves for a living. Those things no longer exist in America. Racism will never be totally eradicated, but it's reduced over the years. This is all facts. Google it. Tolerance will increase in Nigeria, just not as much as in her European counterparts. |

wont happen in a million years

TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 1:35pm On May 06, 2019 |
J2381: dude you're really cracking me up. All you posted doesn't really speak about facts, but of personal belief.
If you still believe the USA and co are tolerant of gays, then I'll really believe you really believe racism is dead.
How far and wide have you travelled around Nigeria before you came to the conclusion as regard the bolded? I'm not saying ALL Americans are tolerant towards gays or have accepted them fully, but many are tolerant towards them. Gay people are not killed wantonly or jailed in America like it's in Nigeria and other African countries. Gay people are allowed to get married in the likes of USA, UK and others, how many African countries accept that? Face it, European countries are more tolerant towards gays now than in the 18th century, and the number will keep improving as time goes on. |

J2381: good lord. Another idealist. Wow. It's not idealism, it's just common sense. I was once intolerant as a child, but as an educated and enlightened adult, I'm now more empathic and tolerant. Before twins were killed, now that tradition has been decimated. Even developed countries like USA and co were once intolerant towards gays but look at them now. With TIME and education, religious people will be more more tolerant in future than now. It's all facts. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 9:52am On May 06, 2019 |
J2381: you know Nigerian Christian and Muslims don't really believe in 'live and let live'. Cos if they do, they won't be acting the way do. I'm a Nigerian Christian, and I believe in live and let live, but not all Christians do. A lot of religious people in Nigeria don't believe that mantra, but I do. I believe that with time and enlightment, Christians and Muslims, especially Yoruba Muslims, will be more tolerant than they are now. |

KoiceReloaded: See, this is why I identify as agnostic. I can't just come out and insult someone's deity. I may not believe, but I'm not certain that God doesn't exist either. Best to play it safe and be polite. That's just my pet peeve with atheists. If you don't believe in people's Gods, good and fine, your choice; but don't go about insulting people's Gods/beliefs. I don't see how someone choosing to believe in whatever deity elicits insults on his faith unless his deity preaches or commands his/her believers to perpetrate violence. Live and let live. |

lekbel09: Never knew there were so many atheists here, I pray their eyes are opened Jerome is a seasoned, hardened and strong-willed atheist. A cock_ would have to grow a tooth first before he becomes religious. As a Christian, even if I'm a pastor, I wouldn't bother trying to preach to NL atheists. I'm a strong believer of live and let live. Whether you're an atheist, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist etc., anyone has a human right to choose his religion, as long as his religious views are not harmful, bloodletting, or poisonous. What matters to me is you treat me with respect and I'll accord the same to you. The only thing that annoys me about NL atheists is some insult other people's Gods and their beliefs. If you don't subscribe to what they believe in, as long as they're not causing bodily harm to you, let them be. I don't go about insulting Allah or Buddha, etc., because I'm a Christian and don't worship their Gods. Apart from that, I'm okay with everybody's religious choice. |

Some people are just so annoying. You couldn't even allow a movie to reach one week before killing the fun for others. WTF?!! Will you die if you don't spoil a movie? Others didn't spoil it for you but immediately you watched, you found so much joy in spoiling it for others.
In the future, I'm going to see a very eagerly anticapated movie and spoil it very well for those that haven't seen it. Mtcheew!! |
