SAN FRANCISCO, Septempber 27, (THEWILL) – The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has lamented that he has not got a fair deal from President Muhammadu Buhari’s government despite his sacrifices and contributions to Buhari’s victory by way of preventing the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from rigging their way to power in 2015. This was as he revealed that former President Goodluck Jonathan offered him huge sums of money, a second term ticket and an influential ministry in a bid to lure him from the All Progressives Congress, APC, before the 2015 general elections. The governor, who did not state the actual amount Jonathan offered him, said he turned down the offer and opted to remain with the APC, expressing hope that Buhari will some day reward his efforts for the APC in the 2015 general elections. Speaking when the people of Njaba Local Government Area of the state paid him a solidarity visit on his 55th birthday celebration, Okorocha said he was convinced at the time that the APC would resoundingly defeat the PDP because Nigerians were tired of the bad governance PDP represented. Comparing his contributions to the APC in the last general elections with that of then Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi, he said, “Look at Rivers State where they rigged Rotimi Amaechi out by allocating over 1.2 million votes to the PDP, yet he got lots of juicy positions like the Ministry of Transport, NIMASA and all that. “But, in all these, have you seen me complain? No, because I know that one day, my time will come and President Buhari will remember me,” he said. The governor appealed to the people of Njaba, who had felt marginalized in the areas of projects and appointments to emulate him by being patient, and assured them that they would feature prominently in his next appointments. According to him, “It may look like it would never come, but if you remain consistent; it would surely come through for you.” http://thewillnigeria.com/news/buhari-hasnt-been-fair-to-me-despite-declining-jonathans-juicy-offer-to-join-pdp-okorocha/

APC gone so soon! |
A few months after the defection of a former governorship candidate, Ibrahim El-Amin, to the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano, a former member of the House of Representatives, Bala Baiko, has followed his footsteps out of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state. Mr. Baiko, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 2003 under the defunct All Peoples Party, told journalists while decamping that members of the All Nigerian Peoples Party had beensidelined since their party joined other legacy parties to form the APC. He noted that Mr. El-Amin, popularly called Little, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had complained of neglect in the APC, saying his numerous followers were similarly not carried along in the scheme of things in Kano. Mr. Baiko said he and his followers were only remembered during elections after which they have been cast aside by those in government. “As everyone knows, party politics is all about making members feel he belongs by including them in active governance, but in our case, no one remembers us after we helped in bringing the government and what do you think we will be doing in this kind of party?” Mr. Baiko said he and his over 20,000 supporters across Kano were defecting to help the PDP win all the forthcoming elections in the state, including the governorship. He said he was going back to the PDP to join old political allies with whom he had worked together in the past, saying it would be easy for him to blend in the party. Mr. Baiko said former Vice President Abubakar was also going back to the PDP, claiming all the plans had been concluded. Mr. Abubakar, although complained of not being carried along by the current APC administration, has not said he plans to leave the party for the PDP. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nwest/244034-ex-rep-dumps-apc-pdp-claims-atiku-will-soon.html/amp

God will disgrace APC by 2019! |
The Labour Party (LP) has said the Chibok girls were not kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents but were used to dent the image of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. The party said the wrath of God will be visited on the All Progressives Congress (APC) for manipulating Nigerians about their abduction. In a statement, Abdulkadir Abdulsalami, national chairman of the party, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) should expect the wrath of God for deceiving Nigerians and manipulating the parents of the Chibok girls. The national chairman said the government should not claim credit “for what they have packaged, pre-arranged and now executing”. He said the government has worsened the suffering of Nigerians and if President Muhammadu Buhari does not leave office, nothing good should be expected from his administration. “The government should expect the wrath of God for deceiving Nigerians and manipulating the parents of the Chibok girls. The release of the Chibok girls is a fluke and an ordinary abracadabra. If by this time, they claimed to have captured Sambisa forest, from which other forest will they say they have brought these girls,” Abdulsalami said. “I think Nigerians need to be told the truth by our leaders, if they want sympathy from Almighty God, what happened to the Chibok girls. By the time we get to May 29 next year (2018), they will now release all the remaining girls to say they have fought the war, they have won the war. “But the fact of the matter, as I have been saying before, during and after the campaign for the 2015 general elections, is that these Chibok girls were not kidnapped by any Boko Haram. They were prepared and arranged to destroy the image and administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. “The present government has worsened the suffering of Nigerians. We have suffered enough, and if Buhari doesn’t leave office, Nigerians should expect worse repercussions from the government.” Abdulsalami said that if the APC lacks the capacity to lead, the party should step aside and let a responsible government take over. “And if they don’t have capacity, let them get away from government. The APC should step aside and let a responsible government take over the administration of Nigeria. You can’t talk of the government without bringing in APC. Buhari came on the platform of change, using deceit in all its programmes,” he said. http://scannewsnigeria.com/news/lp-chibok-girls-were-never-kidnapped-they-were-used-to-destroy-jonathans-image-2/

Assuming today is election day... Who will you vote for? Like for Buhari Share for Atiku Modified: Finally Atiku carried the day! Atiku/Obi 2019! The anointed team! |
Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has said that for anybody to be canvassing second term for President Muhammadu Buhari was sickening and that Nigeria was long overdue for reconfiguration. Soyinka, speaking on Monday with newsmen at the Freedom Park in Lagos said those who said what Nigeria needed was just a restructuring of the mind were not saying the obvious. Soyinka said restructuring of the mind was what could be done on daily basis, but that what the nation needed right now was real restructuring which he called ‘reconfiguring.’ The Nobel laureate also said it was sickening for some people to be canvassing second term in office for President Muhammadu Buhari midway into his first tenure, saying he did not want to be part of such discuss. More details soon. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/09/canvassing-president-buharis-second-term-sickening-soyinka/ Lalasticlala

Oluwabusobomi:Same as my thought |
I think I will take the first shot... Ordinary I would have preferred Dr Olusegun Mimiko, reason been that he is a grassroot politician! I grew up in Ondo town, so I know much about his political sagacity. However, he have some factors working against him... One is that he could not deliver his state to PDP is the last general election. Secondly, he could not produce a successor. Had it been the above two factors were in the positive, am sure the position would have been unopposed for him! Be that as it may, I will go for Otunba Gbenga Daniel |
The Peoples Democratic Party through it non elective convention held last month has fixed December 9 for its National Convention where it would elect its national officers. Based on the assumption that the Chairmanship position has been zoned to the south west, some leaders of the party in the region has started mobilizing support for the exalted position. The following are some of the top contenders, in no particular order: 1. Otunba Gbenga Daniel - Former Governor of Ogun State 2. Chief Olabode George - A Chieftain of the party from Lagos State 3. Jimi Agbaje - Former Governorship candidate of the party in Lagos State 4. Dr Olusegun Mimiko - Former Governor of Ondo State 5. Chief Rasheedi Ladoja - Former Governor of Oyo State These are those that are currently perceived to be the "Top Contenders" for the position.... You can add anyone that you think is missing. Now, who do you think is the best for the position, and most especially someone who can lead the party into 2019 election year against the ruling APC. Tell us why you think he is the best for the position! NB: APC miscreants should stay clear of this please, only die hard fans of PDP are allowed to comment. Lalasticlala pls let's make this as elaborate as possible! cc Mynd44 Seun Lalasticlala
