I've stayed in the two cities.two years each.Aba is more developed than Onitsha with a large urban land mass may be due to its proximity to Portharcourt. Also as the largest SME concentration in Nigeria.Aba is building an economic industrial city with a free trade zone along the boundary between Rivers and Abia state.

From 1999 till now Abia is yet to have a governor. The truth is that the people wanted to elect their true leaders but on each occasion the people were robbed. It happened in 1999, it repeated in 2003. In 2015, Abia people swore to vote out the dynasty of Orjis but yet again failed under the sophisticated rigging of Orji dynasty and Ikpeazu came on board and continued the under development. Abia state has suffered enough, it is time to liberate the state.

Commissioner for information receives the staff and management of Wazobia fm as they opens their southeast flagship station in Onitsha.

20 JULY 2018

The State Government has restated its resolve to uplift the state in all areas.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba, stated this when he received the management and staff of Wazobia FM, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.

The Information Commissioner used the opportunity to enumerate the achievements of Governor Obiano, especially in areas of ensuring security and healthy business environment for investors as well as the ban on commercial motorcyclIsts popularly known as okada and the promised to provide shuttle buses to them, at no interest rate, to empower them and cushion the effect of the ban.

Mr. Adinuba noted that Wazobia FM would be the twenty first radio station to operate in the state in the last couple of years which goes a long way to testify about the peaceful and investment friendly nature of the state.

Earlier the Head of Broadcast and Operations of the Radio Station, Mr. Ugo Enwereji, who led the management team and staff of the broadcast outfit on the visit, explained that they decided to have a foothold in the state and in the South East as Anambra remains the commercial nerve centre of the South East especially Onitsha where the new radio station is domiciled.

Mr. Enwereji observed that the radio station will help tell the story of Anambra state and that of the South East to the world, noting that a lot is happening in the state in terms of infrastructure and security.

The visit featured presentation of souvenirs to the Commissioner

Ebonyi people are haunted like aliens. Look at how Lagos jailed all of them in Lagos. They even have commissioner on Onitsha matter because an average Ebonyi person sees Onitsha as his America where he goes to hustle. cheesy

There gov is buying keke for the ones in Onitsha so they can quit hawking.. cheesy

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has called on the Lagos State Government to release 180 Ebonyi indigenes held in Lagos for hawking.

Umahi made the call on Thursday in Abakaliki, when he received a delegation of Ebonyi indigenes residing in Onitsha, Anambra, who visited him over the plight of some indigenes of the town.

Umahi, represented by his deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, said the government was dismayed by the report from the Ebonyi Development Association in Lagos concerning incarcerated 180 indigenes.

“The 180 victims were accused of contravening a law of the Lagos State Government on street trading, but the intriguing aspect is that they had been incarcerated before the law was enacted.

“Most of them had spent over two years in incarceration before the law was enacted, but they were unfortunately charged under the same law.

“I will immediately consult and interact with my Lagos counterpart to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of the victims,” he said.

The governor said the days of treating Ebonyi citizens as second-class citizens in the country were over, saying the government would extend its empowerment schemes to its indigenes residing across the country.

“The government would immediately procure over 130 tricycles to enable hawkers of Ebonyi origin in Onitsha and environs to quit the trade and be gainfully employed.

“We would accommodate over 20 indigenes in Onitsha in our empowerment scheme, which would offer them a grant of N250,000 ea ch, to quit street trading and be gainfully employed.

The leader of the delegation and the governor’s Senior Technical Assistant, Onitsha Liaison Office, Mr Mathew Njoku, thanked the governor for the reception and pledged to contribute its quota to the state’s development.

“We thank you for graciously including Ebonyi indigenes in Onitsha and across the country in your empowerment schemes because it would help to eradicate the humiliating experiences they undergo while hawking and engaging in other menial jobs.

“Ebonyi indigenes are ranked among the most successful exporters of goods in Onitsha and are willing to transfer such business acumen to enhance the state’s economy,” he said
