But many factors affect how you fare as president aside your competence.

One is good luck which has now become obvious that Buhari lacks. Buhari does not have good luck. In 1983, he came at a time when we were facing a recession. Same in 2015. It forces him to make magic out of few resources.

Second, corruption. Nigeria is fantastically corrupt, and I honestly don't know how we can reduce it. China was able to reduce corruption because of their authoritarian system of government. But in Nigeria, there is division of power, and this slows down decision making.

Third, tribalism. Even if a man wants to work, there are others who want to bring him down because they don't see the country as one.

And many other things.
