How do I place an ad?

It's very easy to place an ad: click on the button "SELL" above right.

What does it cost to advertise?

The publication is 100% free throughout the website.

If I post an ad, will I also get more spam e-mails?

Absolutely not because your email address is not visible on the website.

How long will my ad remain on the website?

In general, an ad is automatically deactivated from the website after 3 months. You will receive an email a week before D-Day and another on the day of deactivation. You have the ability to put them online in the following month by logging into your account on the site. After this delay, your ad will be automatically removed permanently from the website.

I sold my item. How do I delete my ad?

Once your product is sold or leased, log in to your account to remove your ad.

Car Talk / The 5 Best-selling Cars, Trucks, And Suvs Of 2019 (so Far) by bgossipnaija(f): 2:04pm On May 07, 2019
@carmartng.com

Lists of the best-selling vehicles are starting to look somewhat familiar: pickup trucks always occupy the top spots, while compact crossovers have now firmly supplanted family sedans in the top 10. But it's still interesting to follow the rankings throughout the year to see how things shake out. We've tallied first-quarter sales from every automaker in the U.S. market to bring you a list of the top 25 vehicles through March 2019. We'll continue to update this list quarterly to see if there's any movement among the contenders.

1. Ford F-Series (214,611 units sold)

While it's not surprising that Ford's pickup trucks find themselves in the top spot once again, we admit to being a bit surprised that sales continue to rise, if only by a meager 0.2 percent, despite increased competition from Ram, Chevrolet, and GMC. Each of these competitors has redesigned both their light-duty and heavy-duty offerings, while Ford's truck lineup hasn't changed that significantly in a while.

2. Ram Pickup (120,025 units sold)

Ram's sensational new 1500 pickup earned our 10Best Trucks and SUVs award for 2019, and it seems that consumers are pleased with the new truck, too. The entire Ram pickup range, which also includes heavy-duty trucks, jumped 15.0 percent through March, helping it pass the Chevy Silverado to earn the silver medal so far this year.

3. Chevrolet Silverado (114,313 units sold)

The Silverado has long occupied the number-two spot in the U.S. sales rankings, but things aren't looking good for Chevy's light- and heavy-duty pickups so far in 2019. Its sales dropped by 15.7 percent, which allowed a surging Ram pickup range to surpass it through March.

4. Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport (93,814 units sold)

The fact that the Rogue is the best-selling non-truck so far in 2019 despite sales dropping 19.4 percent goes to show how strong a start this crossover family had in 2018. But it's also important to remember that the Rogue nameplate includes both the compact Rogue and the smaller, subcompact Rogue Sport; Nissan does not split out sales for these separate models.

5. Chevrolet Equinox (88,500 units sold)

Chevrolet's compact crossover is enjoying a strong year so far, with sales up 7.4 percent. That's enough for it to surpass rivals such as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, both of which sold considerably more units than the Equinox last year.

Business / The Big Changes Coming To Whatsapp, Facebook, Messenger, And Instagram by bgossipnaija(f): 7:34am On May 03, 2019
Speaking at Facebook’s annual developer conference in California this week, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a slew of new updates across their platforms.

Zuckerberg said the company would make major changes to WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, with the overhauled versions of the applications focusing on user privacy.

The new version of Facebook is code-named “FB5”, and it will be the biggest change the platform has experienced in years. Facebook is also extending these changes to other platforms it owns.

The official release dates for the new features have not yet been revealed, but the company said it is currently working on the redesign.
WhatsApp
Facebook did not provide many details regarding the changes coming to WhatsApp, but it did announce the addition of a business catalogue within the messaging app.

This feature will help WhatsApp users connect with businesses and browse products from within the app, the company said..

“People and businesses are finding WhatsApp a great way to connect. In the months ahead people will be able to see a business catalogue right within WhatsApp when chatting with a business,” Facebook announced.

“With catalogues, businesses can showcase their goods so people can easily discover them.”

Facebook

Facebook’s big redesign will change the focus of the platform to its Groups, with many new features being released to put Groups at the centre of the social media space.

The “FB5” version of is designed to be simpler, faster, and more community-focused.

Facebook said its platform will also make it easier for users to travel from public spaces to more private ones, thanks to a new Group discovery tool, better integration with Facebook Watch, the Gaming tab, and Group focuses.

The company also plans to expand its Facebook Dating platform to 14 new countries, although South Africa was not listed among these new locations.

A new “Secret Crush” feature will allow users to select up to nine of their friends they express interest in. If their crush has opted into Facebook Dating, they will get a notification stating that someone has a crush on them, and will be matched with them if they add the other user as a Secret Crush in return.

Facebook has also built a Meet New Friends feature to facilitate the offline interaction of users, as well as new Marketplace shipping functionality to help facilitate delivery of items.

The new version of Facebook will also feature a redesigned Events tab which makes it easier to coordinate with friends to make plans.

“People will start seeing some of these updates in the Facebook app right away, and the new desktop site will come in the next few months,” Facebook said.

Instagram
The changes coming to Instagram focus on connecting people with their interests and implementing new camera functionality.

Instagram will also allow users to shop from the creators they follow without leaving the application.

“Instead of taking a screenshot or asking for product details in comments or Direct, you can simply tap to see exactly what your favourite creators are wearing and buy it on the spot,” Facebook said.

This feature will roll out to a small group of creators next week and expand over time.

Facebook also announced it would introduce a new camera design in the coming weeks, which includes a Create Mode that allows you to share content without a photo or video.

“This new camera will make it easier to use popular creative tools like effects and interactive stickers, so you can express yourself more freely,” Facebook added.

Another feature coming to Instagram will facilitate fundraising for nonprofit organisations through donation stickers in Stories.

Messenger

Messenger will see major changes in the future, comprising a complete redesign which includes default end-to-end encryption and a desktop application.

Facebook said its Messenger app has been rebuilt from the ground-up to be lighter, faster, and more secure.

“This completely re-engineered Messenger will begin to rollout later this year,” Facebook said.

Other new features in the messaging app include the ability to watch Facebook videos with friends while messaging or on a video call.

Facebook will also launch a dedicated Messenger desktop application for Windows and MacOS, which will support group video calls and multitasking.

The redesigned application will include a dedicated space for viewing Stories and messages with close friends, along with improved ad features for more relevant and interactive advertisements.

Politics / Jonathan Aid React As INEC Set To Postpone Tomorrow’s Elections by bgossipnaija(f): 12:06am On Feb 16, 2019
Reno Omokri on Facebook react as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is considering postponing Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.

Multiple sources close to the electoral commission said the postponement being considered is due to some logistics challenges being faced by the commission in many states.

The electoral body is facing difficulty distributing sensitive electoral materials to some states of the federation, an official said.

Post read below:

Any postponement of the election scheduled to hold tomorrow is a #CoupAgainstNigeria and a slap in the face of Nigerians, given that the government had enough time and money to prepare for the elections. If they postpone, don’t respond violently. Be patient to vote against them.

Ever since the suspicious burning of highly guarded INEC offices a few days to the scheduled elections, I knew a #CoupAgainstNigeria was afoot. They want you to react violently, so they can do what they did to the Shiites to you and scuttle democracy. Be wise and remain peaceful.

The Buhari regime may succeed in bullying INEC to postpone the election, but despite any #CoupAgainstNigeria, they can only postpone their rejection by the Nigerian people. They can't stop it. We‘ve tolerated 97% versus 5% for 4 years. We can tolerate a few more days.

Under no circumstances must we be violent. The power is in your PVC, not in their shenanigans or the guns and bullets at their beck and call. The way to frustrate any #CoupAgainstNigeria is to refuse to react as they expect. Give them the voting finger whenever the election holds

Finally, I call in the INEC, Nigerian Police, Nigerian army and all military and paramilitary forces to remember that your oath of allegiance is to Nigeria, not Buhari regime. REFUSE to obey an illegal order. Be loyal to Nigeria in the event of any #CoupAgainstNigeria

Romance / What Is Valentine's Day? Why Do We Celebrate On This Day? by bgossipnaija(f): 1:34am On Feb 14, 2019
St Valentine's Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends. Couples send Valentine's Day cards and flowers and spend special time together to honour their love for each other.

The Early History of Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is named after Saint Valentine, a Catholic priest who lived in Rome in the 3rd Century. There are many stories about St Valentine and over time these stories grew into the legend we know today.

At the time of Valentine's life, many Romans were converting to Christianity, but Emperor Claudius II was a pagan and created strict laws about what Christians were allowed to do. Claudius believed that Roman soldiers should be completely devoted to Rome and therefore passed a law preventing them from marrying. St Valentine began to marry these soldiers in secret Christian ceremonies and this was the beginning of his reputation for believing in the importance of love.

Eventually, Valentine was found out and jailed for his crimes against Claudius. While imprisoned, Valentine cared for his fellow prisoners and also his jailor's blind daughter. Legend has it that Valentine cured the girl's blindness and that his final act before being executed was to write her a love message signed ‘from your Valentine'. Valentine was executed on 14 February in the year 270.

How did Valentine's Day develop?
It wasn't until more than 200 years later that 14 February was proclaimed St Valentine's Day. By this time Rome had become Christian and the Catholic Church was determined to stamp out any remaining paganism. A pagan fertility ritual was held in February each year and the Pope abolished this festival and proclaimed 14 February Saint Valentine's Day, thus establishing this feast day on the Catholic Calendar of Saints.

The poet Chaucer in the Middle Ages was the first to link St Valentine with romantic love. This was the beginning of the tradition of courtly love, a ritual of expressing love and admiration, usually in secret. This custom spread throughout Europe and stories grew about a High Court of Love where female judges would rule on issues related to love on 14 February each year. Historians believe that these meetings were in fact gatherings where people read love poetry and played games of flirtation.

Valentine's Day Symbols
The practice of sending love messages developed into people sending special cards expressing their affection. These cards were beautiful creations handmade by the sender and individually designed to show how much they loved the recipient. Cards would usually contain sentimental verse, proclaiming the beauty of the receiver and how much they were loved.

Saint Valentine's Day cards were decorated with pictures of cupid, hearts and flowers and trimmed with lace and ribbon. These images are still used today to symbolise love and are recognised all over the world.

Politics / Who Deserves To Go To Jail, First Candidate Buhari - FFK by bgossipnaija(f): 10:03am On Dec 28, 2018
The Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode On facebook release below statement

I hold do not brief for anyone and I speak only for myself but permit me to say the following. If we insist on talking about who deserves to go to jail I put it to you that the first candidate is President Muhammadu Buhari.

This is a man who played a key role in the northern officers revenge coup of July 29th 1966 in which 300 Igbo officers, a Yoruba military Governor and an Igbo Military Head of State were murdered in cold blood.

This is a man who committed some of the most heinous and bestial atrocities as a young officer during the Nigerian civil war.

This is a man that organised a bloody mutiny and armed insurecction against his own commander-in-chief and conspired with others to topple and remove a democratically-elected President in a military coup d'etat in 1983.

This is a man under whose watch as Minister of Petroleum 2.8 billion U.S. dollars was stolen in 1977. This is a man under whose watch as head of the Petroleum Trust Fund hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars went missing in 1998.

This is a man under whose watch as President and Minister of Petroleum 25 billion U.S. dollars went missing from NNPC in 2018.

This is a man that has unleashed his army on Shiite Muslims and IPOB youths and thereby committed genocide, mass murder and ethnic and religious cleansing against his own people.

This is a man who has driven some of our most brilliant, insightful, courageous and enlightened sons and daughters into self-imposed exile out of fear and trepidation for their lives and liberty.

This is a man who believes that the lawful and legitimate expression of the natural desire for self-determination and freedom from ethnic and religious hatred and bondage is an act of treason.

This is a man who is incapable of understanding the meaning of the word "restructuring" let alone comprehend its utility, importance and expediency.

This is a man that cannot tolerate criricism or opposition and that is a living manifestation of Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Pol Pot all rolled into one.

This is a man under whose watch more innocent and defenceless Nigerians have been slaughtered by bloodthirsty ethnic and religious militias than at any other time in our history except during the civil war.

This is a man who has actively supported and encouraged the Fulani terrorist herdsmen to butcher their compatriots and steal their land.

This is a man under whose watch Boko Haram has been encouraged, supported, funded, strengthened and protected.

This is a man under whose watch a new Malian Fulani militia has risen and has terrorised and butchered the people of the north west.

This is a man under whose watch ISIS has taken firm root in our country, massacred hundreds of our people and conducted lethal terrorist operations in our shores.

This is a man under whose watch the Nigerian treasury has been pillaged, raped and utterly drained.

This is a man whose deep-seated and pathological hatred for people who do not share his Muslim faith and for people that are not from his Fulani tribe is legendry.

This is a man that has consistently insulted, maligned, demarketed and demeaned his own people before foreign leaders and foreign audiences more than any other.

This is a man that is sociopathic in all his ways, that suffers from low self esteem, whose real identitity we do not know and whose wife has attested to the fact that he is not in control of his faculties or his government.

This is a man who has defied court orders, locked up his perceived enemies, sought to jail his adversaries on politically motivated and false charges and labelled ALL his critics as being corrupt, inept and unfit to hold public office.

This is a man whose incompetence and ignorance knows no bounds and who has impoversished his people and made them the laughing stock of the entire world.

This is a man that has fought and sought to intimidate the legislature, the judiciary, the media and the Nigerian people and that seeks to impose his will on each and every Nigerian.

This is a man who will go down in history as the most brutal, insensitive, bitter, divisive, unforgiving, vicious, wicked and intransigent leader that Nigeria has ever known.

And finally this is a man who, if he is allowed to come back to power in 2019, will be the last President of a united Nigeria.

Politics / FLASHBACK: The Coup Speech That Overthrew Buhari On August 27, 1985 by bgossipnaija(f): 8:20pm On Dec 20, 2018
I, Brigadier Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, of the Nigerian Army, hereby make the following declaration on behalf of my colleagues and members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Fellow country men, *the intervention of the military at the end of 1983 was welcomed by the nation with unprecedented enthusiasm.* Nigerians were unified in accepting the intervention and looked forward hopefully to progressive changes for the better. *Almost two years later, it has become clear that the fulfillment of expectations is not forthcoming.*

Because this generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country but Nigeria, we could not stay passive and watch a small group of individuals misuse power to the detriment of our national aspirations and interest.

No nation can ever achieve meaningful strides in its development where there is an absence of cohesion in the hierarchy of government; where it has become clear that positive action by the policy makers is hindered because as a body it lacks a unity of purpose.

It is evident that the nation would be endangered with the risk of continuous misdirection. We are presently confronted with that danger. *In such a situation, if action can be taken to arrest further damage, it should and must be taken.* This is precisely what we have done.

*The Nigerian public has been made to believe that the slow pace of action of the Federal Government headed by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari was due to the enormity of the problems left by the last civilian administration.*

Although it is true that a lot of problems were left behind by the last civilian government, *the real reason, however, for the very slow pace of action is due to lack of unanimity of purpose among the ruling body; subsequently, the business of governance has gradually been subjected to ill-motivated power play considerations. The ruling body, the Supreme Military Council, has, therefore, progressively been made redundant by the actions of a select few members charged with the day-to-day implementation of the SMC’s policies and decision.*

The concept of *collective leadership has been substituted by stubborn and illadvised unilateral actions,* thereby destroying the principles upon which the government came to power. Any effort made to advise the leadership, met with stubborn resistance and was viewed as a challenge to authority or disloyalty.

*Thus, the scene was being set for systematic elimination of what, was termed oppositions. All the energies of the rulership were directed at this imaginary opposition rather than to effective leadership.*

The result of this misdirected effort is now very evident in the country as a whole. The government has started to drift. The economy does not seem to be getting any better as we witness daily increased inflation.

The nation’s meager resources are once again being wasted on unproductive ventures. Government has distanced itself from the people and the yearnings and aspirations of the people as constantly reflected in the media have been ignored.

This is because *a few people have arrogated to themselves the right to make the decisions for the larger part of the ruling body. All these events have shown that the present composition of our country’s leadership cannot, therefore, justify its continued occupation of that position.*

Furthermore, the initial objectives and programmes of action which were meant to have been implemented since the ascension to power of the Buhari Administration in January 1984 have been betrayed and discarded. *The present state of uncertainty and stagnation cannot be permitted to degenerate into suppression and retrogression.*

We feel duty bound to use the resources and means at our disposal to restore hope in the minds of Nigerians and renew aspirations for a better future. We are no prophets of doom for our beloved country, Nigeria. We, therefore, count on everyone’s cooperation and assistance.

I appeal to you, fellow countrymen, particularly my colleagues in arms to refrain from any act that will lead to unnecessary violence and bloodshed among us. Rest assured that our action is in the interest of the nation and the armed forces.

In order to enable a new order to be introduced, the following bodies are dissolved forthwith pending further announcements: (a) The Supreme Military Council (b) The Federal Executive Council (c) The National Council of States. All seaports and airports are closed, all borders remain closed.

Finally, a dusk to dawn curfew is hereby imposed in Lagos and all state capitals until further notice. All military commanders will ensure effective maintenance of law and order. Further announcements will be made in due course. God bless Nigeria.

CAN ANY NIGERIAN TELL US THE DIFFERENCE THEN AND NOW after over 40years. I’m all ears.

Politics / Femi Fani-kayode Finally Revealed How, Who Killed Alex Badeh by bgossipnaija(f): 8:09pm On Dec 20, 2018
Badeh was murdered by unknown gunmen on Tuesday along Abuja-Keffi road while returning from his farm.

However, the PDP chieftain Femi Fani-Kayode who visited the family said; I visited the home of Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh today to commiserate with his family. What happened was tragic and based on all I heard I have no doubt that it was an assassination. He actually had 4 security men with him when he was attacked and they fought back gallantly.

Sadly it was not enough as their principal was killed before their very eyes and his close friend was kidnapped. I am saddened and utterly devastated. May his soul rest in peace and may God comfort his wife, children and family members.
