I think I might misunderstand you or didn't comprehend what you said. but I think you shouldn't have used the word diligent. The fact he lost his job and wasn't sitting around but decided to become a keke driver shows his diligence in life. But the op needs to tell us why he was among the ones sacked.

They are not ignorant. They did what they believed was the best for you at that age and moment in life. You should be grateful that they see it fit and ready to train you in school which some parents who are very ignorant won't even try to do. They would advice you to go and learn a handwork.
