spyder880: Just tell me what on earth is the job of local government council, if not to collect salary they did not work for. This is one of the oldest surviving parks in Enugu and deserves every attention it can get before the next governor descends on it like the erstwhile zoo. It will be great to see it renovated, since all the roads around it have been asphalted. 2 Likes |

[quote author=Unemadu post=28457766]The road is wide enough, why not at least build side walks for pedestrians Please where do you build side walks when all manner of shops are erected indiscriminately on every available space. If the government moves against those shops now, come and see anger and cursing from the public. They will remind you that they ran home from Ugwuawusa and now they are been chased away again. |

asha80: On a serious note, why all these attacks on Ebonyi Satate for crying out loud. The point has been noted that there is an issue that needs to be addressed as regards the Nkalagu cement factory between Ebonyi State government and Ibeto. It was also noted that Emeka Ofor has been complicit in the delay of the take off of geometric power Aba belonging to a fellow Igbo man. Please why is that of Ebonyi being overstretched beyond limit? Can we let this matter lie for the sake of Igbo unity. We shouldn't act as if anyone is more important than the other in Igboland. Even if we drag the matter till eternity, it's not gonna change anything, instead it may even exacerbate the problem we are trying to solve through unrelenting criticism. |

''You are all witnesses to the unwarranted attacks on me in the media and through other platforms orchestrated by some of my brothers but that will not change my ways. We have a fully refurbished and digitized ESBS (Enugu State Broadcasting Service) with radio and television arms with such a very wide reach but we will never use it against our people. I was not elected to fight our people but to give services, to develop our state and to better the lives of our people.'' Sullivan Chime. 8 Likes |

Handsomegod: Please, I intentionally omitted, Asaba, Agbo, Ogwashi, Port Harcourt, Ikwerre and so on. I have not got the strength to argue whether they are Igbo or not. I know they are our brothers and would readily join the big league when it starts. If the whole enterprise is run transparently, i am sure our brothers from Calabar, Eket, Uyo, Warri, Idoma will like to join as well. So omitting them was only to avoid the e-war of who is igbo and who is not. I hate it when people are being forced to identify with a particular tribe of race. I believe that everyone should be given the latitude to freely identify with who they want. 8 Likes |

Now imagine we have, Nnewi FC Awka FC Onitsha FC Owerri FC Orlu FC Okigwe FC Aba FC Umuahia FC Bende FC Abakaliki FC Afikpo FC Ikwo FC Enugu FC Nsukka FC Udi FC. Imagine where an Igboman would have to visit all the Igbo senatorial zones to watch his home team play without fear of being killed by the jihadists. 5 Likes |

spyder880: To my mind, if a politician likes he can buy up or solely sponsor a club but that club must not bear his name. Abramovich is Chelsea owner yet the doesn't bear his name. However if we must succeed, there will be strict rules and regulations that would guide the running of the clubs. Obviously, there will be a football association governing body, whose job will be to implement the laws of of the league. 1 Like |

In the spirit of developing south east, plan is on the way to launch south east football league. It will be a league that will involve every senatorial zone in Igboland. It will be modelled after the English premier league. It will be solely professional and won't be influenced by politicians. The football clubs will be formed and owned by willing individuals but non of the clubs will bear any individual or business name, instead it will bear names of cities where they were formed. We want to give our people a legacy that will last for ever. It is a gesture I believe will be a unifying factor in Igboland. If you share my dream, please indicate interest. Please do not tell me that it is not possible because every human endeavour begins with a dream. If we can work on it, it will grow to become a big business because a lot of cooperations will get involved in sponsorship at the long run. 8 Likes |

lacosanostra: That is an issue nobody wants to consider and that is the fact that no human enjoys being looked down on. I am not from Ebonyi but I have lived at Abakiliki. We should all put ourselves in the shoe of Ebonyi people, who have to bear all manner degrading abuse, as inferiors from other Igbo States. They have endured this abuse over the years and it is natural for them to fight back. As someone noted, Izzii people gave their lands away to strangers, who built houses and industries on them, the same strangers turned back to call them foolish and primitive people. The way we treat others when we are at an advantage matters a lot and people would always want to have their pounds of flesh when the time comes. I don't support the idea of denying Ibeto the opportunity of buying the cement factory but I don't totally blame Ebonyi people for whatever action they took, which they feel is in their own interest. Looking down on people always push the victims into becoming saboteurs, as we witnessed during the war. Igboland will be better if all of us can work together as equals. 10 Likes |

waternogetemeny: And to think that an Igboman Emeka Offor is also behind frustration of Geometric Power Plant Aba owned by Prof Bath Nnaji, a fellow Igboman, tells a lot about us. I heard from the grapevine that the Emeka is riding on the back of the vice president, Namadi Sambo, an hausa man to prevent the successful take off of the power plant. Something is not right with us. You guys will now understand why Sullivan is one of the most detribalized Igboman. Sullivan started patronizing Innoson motors when no one could, not even the Anambra Sate governor. 10 Likes |

Oment5: Please do a little research on Suez Canal. The last war between Israel and Egypt was the attempt by the later to place a blockade to preprevent the former from exercising her right of way. If every country that borders the coastal line begins to block the commercial ships belonging to their enemy countries, na im be say nobody will leave his territory to another. People have right of way under both international and municipal laws. |

This is a test of what is to come in Enugu State. Does anyone see the guy's sagged trouser coupled with the defacing of public property. I bet Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will be a disaster. My mind tells me that. I still do not understand the rationale for choosing this guy of all the people in Nsukka zone to govern Enugu State. Honestly i won't vote for this guy if I am in Enugu during election. I hope Sullivan understands what he is doing in this regard. spyder880: |

IGBOSON1: Business as usual politicians are all possessed with demon of greed. They are people who were born and bred in poverty, like our shoeless and corruption riddled president. They are so much possessed with kleptomanic spirit, that they never stopped stealing, even at the point of death. One attribute of this kind of politicians is that they are bereft of conscience, shame and humanity. To them, the world begins and ends with their tenure in office. May God deliver from those low lives like we have in Abia State. Only God knows the stuff this Ugwuanyi guy is made of. 1 Like 1 Share |

spyder880: Fantastic but I think we should form a charity club whose job would be to pressurize the government to consistently sweep the side roads or we can offer to do it ourselves. I know I sound awful sometimes, but those sand on the sides of Enugu roads are disgusting. Common, we can't spend billions on road construction, then fail to mobilize people to sweep the side roads, at once a week. 5 Likes |

cjrane: You are right my brother. Every country in the world has 2 tiers of government except Nigeria. It is either you have state and federal government like America or local and central government like Britain. I have equally argued that if we must retain the present system of government, then local and state governments should be coalesced into one. Alternatively, we can adopt the British system whereby there will be regions with high level autonomy and those regions can create their own local government. The present local government is simply useless. 2 Likes |

The idiots fighting Sullivan should imagine the amount of money at his disposal for the remainder of his tenure. He has control of at least 50 billion naira before he leaves office. If Sullivan is not a polished man, Senators who collect 12 million monthly salary won't stand him by any chance. If he decides to abandon all the on going projects and even stops paying workers salary for the rest of his tenure, believe me heaven will not fall. It has not fallen in Abia State, yet T A Orji is going to the Senate without let. People fighting Sullivan are ignorant. Jonathan and his Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba slave masters are angry that Enugu is developing fast, so they do not like folks of Sullivan's make up to get close to them. The reason is they don't want any good thing in Igboland. They prefer TA Orji who can assist them in achieving their aims. Igbo people should wise up and stop being stupid. If we destroy Igbo land, one day our children will need it, but they won't find it. Please someone should take the message to the Abuja politicians. Very soon, Boko haram will come after them in that useless Abuja and then they will remember Enugu. 6 Likes |
