reduced my holdings in livestock very early toady, however still have reasonable quantity that I wouldn't sell till it gets to N2 despite how long it takes. I read some weeks ago that uacn will push some Nbillion to livestock from their resent concluded right offers

I think it's a wise decision and that's if not a trader as the current major owners of the company are trusted (no cooking of results/good corporate governance/protects shareholders interest/done it before) and there's real optimism they will deliver again but like one of the team player here always say - Mr Time will tell. Please plan your trade and trade your plan! Shalom!

as someone post last week except you are ready to hold for very long time like pa Emma, Glaxo is overvalued at cp, I think there are more to that special dividend than what we know. based on the audited result, dividend declared is almost equivalent to the fair price of the stock. Soon we might see someone dumping to the biding and the rest will be story grin

If I have this stock I will just watch and sell before they force me to be long timer but if I don't have I will stay away for now to look for better fish in the mkt

Thanks Bro!

I think Jegede, Milost et al caused the negative report about the deal. From the report, the newspaper company tried to get confirmation of the deal from them but no one was ready to talk. Of course, when there is gap in communication, you give room for speculation and image-damaging conclusions. However, with various beneficiaries of the milost largesse coming out to confirm that the firm is genuine and the various deals as well, this is not sufficient enough to convince the pubic until SEC confirms it.

Though the rebuttal by Jegede has caused a rally in Japaul shares today.... How long this will last, i leave it to mr. Market to answer.. grin

Not suggesting anyone should buy but what if the negative reporting of the newspaper guys (remember this is Naija can't trust anyone) is due some axe to grind with Jegede's Japaul and co due to their very bad behavior since inception - they are now singing PHD syndrome!

Investors in the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, lost N506 billion of their investment this week following price loss in 60 companies

In the other news:
Economy:
Crude is back over $61/barrel following the firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Some assume that will clear the way for President Trump to make good on his promise to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, which is theoretically bullish for oil, as sanctions would be reinstituted against the Islamic Republic. Saudi Arabia and others still have enough spare capacity to make up for any deficit.

Crypto - warning:
Following a similar hard-line approach taken by Facebook, Google will ban crypto-related advertising starting in June, including ICOs, wallets, and trading advice across any of its platforms. "We don't have a crystal ball to know where the future is going to go with cryptocurrencies, but we've seen enough consumer harm or potential for consumer harm," said Scott Spencer, Google's director of sustainable ads.

Can this affect the NSE?
Shares in Asia buckled under pressure overnight despite positive economic data out of China. Industrial output grew 7.2% in January-February, while fixed-asset investment expanded 7.9% and retail sales rose 9.7%. Equities seemed to be nervous over impending U.S. tariffs, which may now target up to $60B worth of goods, as well as punitive measures against intellectual property theft.

- culled from SA

Meanwhile the DOW is bleeding!
So we watch/act carefully for most things that goes up will always come down and may be vice versa.

#Just-thinking-loud:
- Always do DD/invest only on fundamentally sound/dividend paying companies/give time after planting
- Avoid too much greed and take some profit off the table when price goes up

Chief,

Am merely reporting live events of activities of NSE. They said I should keep quiet, why?

Scroll through my post, did you see me recommending any stock for either buy/sell. Why would I advice anyone to buy/sell? I expect everyone to be sensible enough to have a plan and trade same plan. That has been the preaching from day.

Some people's trade has turned sour and they felt like trying to insult me will make any difference to me.

For y'all information, I am not susceptible to insults or whatever. It doesn't add neither does it remove 1k from the cash sitting on my portfolio's account. Insults even tickles my fancy and am not gonna reply anybody.

Please, go through all my posts and tell me what I have done wrong. Am willing to listen to you. Mind you, you will see that all my posts are just response to other posts.

Please talk but like veecovee advised, talk a little less, yes just a little less! Again it's only an advise. This forum has been going on very well before now, let's not kill it! #onelove

Zenith bank result is fantastic but this market does not give a damn thing about any result with dividend yield lower than 10%, hence their was little or no reaction to Zenith result in terms of share price appreciation. I feel most other stocks will follow the same trend. In fact I feel if market did not react to zeniths good result, then most other stocks will be on full offer upon release of their result cos of low dividend yield.
INFERENCE: Don't take position ahead of release of result instead hold your cash and buy after release of result. I may be wrong anyways....

Looks like the government not releasing any funds owed to contractors/workers not being paid as at when due/minimum wage not enough/foreign reserve locked up tight/politicians in sh**....add that to everyone keeping their funds inside pillow case.....who will bell the cat?

@Chibuking,
- As someone suggested please report this case to the police immediately if not already done....of-course the bastards holding your kid may try to contact you.
- Keep informing neighbors, the village head, pastors, social media, friends and well wishers

Note: According to some reports most kidnapping in Nigeria are perpetrated mostly by disgruntled family members/close friends/!!

- So your son must be interviewed carefully (he may be traumatized) and encouraged to think deeply/truthfully because with your knowledge sure everyone in this forum is aware of the times and should be passing on to their kids/loved ones the wickedness of these times we live in. Now imagine how @Chibuking's son dropped off by mum at the school gate, an unknown person call's him to go buy whatever for him will leave his little sister to go for such an errand for this unknown person.....friends we must teach these innocent kids whom to trust in these terrible times.

Questions:
- As per age why do you guys drop your kids at the school gate? Is this a one off issue, because of hold up or is this the normal practice
- Do you have serious issues with any of your friends, neighbors or family members/inlaws - especially the greedy and jealous ones?
- How do you blend in your current environment?
- Perform a complete risk assessment (normally done to prevent re-occurrence) of your current location even if it's your village, think and know if now is the time to find peace somewhere else.

- Please this should be taken as learning points for us all as we continue to pray for @Chibuking and his family.
The good Lord who created the heavens and the earth will perform His miracle as always, IJN.

Depending on size of investment funds, dividing it in different percentages for - Stocks/FD/Cash/Crypto (some are seriously risk averse so this may be a no-no) call it whatever may be a good idea. Some were taught not to put all their eggs in one basket...not matter how few.

Nigeria's Total Imports in 2017 Drop 8.5% as Exports Rise 59.47%
https://www.businesspost.ng/2018/03/04/nigerias-total-imports-2017-drop-8-5-exports-rise-59-47/[/quote]

Good news as per Q4, 2017, if this can continue, it will be good. Continuity is how developed economies grew to what they are today making workers, investors and the general population happy. However, corruption/one step forward and two steps backward is a recipe for disaster. #hope

Nigeria now world highest importer of petrol !!
...and even the NNPC GMD had to admit as much. ...apparently we are the ones importing for the whole of west Africa.
This country is such a useless entity. ...we are simply just not ready yet !!

Really sorry to say but that's what you get when guys who failed WAEC and those who scored 20% in JAMB to gain admission to the university where they probably got a let-my-people-go are now Judges, government economists, managers, directors etc while those that scored 80% and made first class are either in private sectors or reduced to court clerks/redundant positions in government. You can never give what you don't have! Nigeria is a systemic basket case with a rotten foundation that needs to be torn down and rebuilt else every patch-patch will lead to the same BS! #which-way-nigeria

most of these companies that came for public offers in 2007 came with window- dressed financial status such as daar comm, union diagnosis, many insurance companies. They deceived unsuspecting public raked in billions which dey used for frivolities now dey cant meet up their promises because the fundamentals werent there in the first place. Those with union diagnostic, daar comm, and some insurance companies etc share certificates are just keeping ordinary papers. They should just move on and forget about d certificates because these company are slidding which will make it very difficult to ever meet up their promises to shareholders as they ve not been able to meet up in d last 10 yrs.I was a victim of these scam.

You are correct bros however in the NSE it may not really be over till the fat lady sings.......see Japaul.....some "mezzanine financing" guys showed up and changed the story. In all despite the current volatility and thanks to 1-kobo rule some dead bones rose making it possible for some to cut the cow tail instead of losing everything.

If prices are elevated and investors don't want to buy, it will continue to fall until an equilibrium is reached. Sometimes it could be exacerbated by herd selling.

Once the low price is reached, you calculate your measure of safety, estimate your possible DY and possible price of a exit and then buy.

Appreciate your insight as usual...Thanks!

It is done in Anambra where an Ibo business man meets with the chiefs and sets up ranches deep inside the bush. The business man already has contacts with the Fulani business man for constant supply of cows. He employs Fulani herdsmen to help take the cows into the bush for grazing far away from farmlands. The community knows that the cows are assets of the Ibo man and the herdsmen are employees. No crop is eaten, and the villagers are at peace.

That is wonderful Bro...hope it continues being replicated and may be big companies get really involved while government provides safety. This is how a country's economy grows, win-win!
