Wahala everywhere...will it get to NSE? This is why sometimes long term outlook and MMF help some SWAN!

Another take on bitcoin - from seeking alpha:

Amid fears of running up huge losses, Lloyds is barring its credit card customers from buying bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It follows similar moves by U.S. rivals JPMorgan, Bank of America and Citigroup, which all announced similar bans on crypto purchases via credit cards on Friday. Worries over a global regulatory clampdown led bitcoin - which is still trading below $8,000 - last week to record its biggest weekly loss since December 2013.

I repeat, why are this bunch of crooks still free men?
He who must come to equity.....the clean hands in Naija is growing less and less by the day! Everyone is becoming birds of the same feather. If a judge takes bribe from an accused and sees the same person in his court the next day accused of giving bribe what to do? When will all these stop? Your guess is as good as mine!!

But Carlyle Group has been in Diamond bank since and I cannot see any difference. Nigerian Managers have found a way to pollute their foreign partners. That is even if the foreign guys are not crooks themselves.
When there's no rule of law, you will see the bad side of people - no matter where they come from! The only deterrent to fraud and stealing of shareholders funds is when you have a truly independent press and an empowered institution that does their job without fear and interference from government. Do we have such institutions in Nigeria? Crooks will always setup office where they know they can get away with whatever they do and most Nigerian corporate managers are aggressively greedy/selfish they don't care about retail investors/shareholders. We are just fishing with greedy sharks hence must always be watchful!

Thermis capital management and Stanbic nominees limited now own 8% each in UACN. Blakeney GP 111 limited also owns 6% in the company..

Thermis capital management is a foreign investor, I don't know if they are Portfolio investors or long term investors in the company.
Not surprised that Stanbic is there - I hope they are able to shake things up - UACN/LIVESTOCK!

THE Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, recently showed what it means to be one’s brother’s keeper.

Please be careful on what and whom you invest with....Africa especially Naija lacks almost everything a modern society need to prosper especially rule of law. #verypathetic
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Bianco1: 2:02pm On Jan 30, 2018
All what some companies in Nigeria need is good corporate governance and dedicated team to perform very well.
When a good management team joins the board all the fraudulent people begins to shake and do the right things hence the company will start doing well.
The guilty are always afraid of losing their jobs hence they will work times two to ensure they are not fired when a good manager shows up.
Bad management kills a good company...study what Oando, Japaul, Daarcomm etc does and you will see these companies are supposed to very well if not for bad management/board.

I wanted to keep it like forever but the gain is to tempting. I am like I should sell it and wait maybe in the future it might come down to the price I bought at then I can buy again. Looking at the way things are I am not sure if it will come down that low any time soon. I may be wrong just my opinion.
When it's time, take some profit especially if you need the funds for something good.
It helps to avoid any regrets while whatever is left will continue the game - up or down.
Mostly good for dividend stocks/watchful long term investor - as you get paid your dividend while you wait on more capital appreciation.
Do your DD please!

Good day house.
Please I need help to a few questions.
I do more of TBills, and about to divest to Stocks and MMF.
My risk appetite is a bit low since this fund is a family money which I had ran for 3years at minimum of 12% per annum.
Could holding good stocks for a few months give a 20% profit?
My target is keeping it at 20% per annum.
Is stocks the best for me, or MMFs?
Please keep doing what you are doing.
You can also do MMF - low returns/No loss - call it getting rich slowly, also funds in MMF should just be left alone to compound.
Keep following this forum you will learn a lot before venturing into stocks.
Good luck!

Funny... CP, I go blow you head knock!

You know that some stock do pari passu in terms of price increase/decrease. I believe UBA/ACCESS are currently playing same.

Just the same way we had Fidelity/FCMB/Diamond playing their catch up game.

The thing about Access Bank is that if "that" seller had held back his/her/their shares for just 2/3 trading days, the shares will be sold at an additional N3.... But seriously needs to offload immediately and never gets done with it.

Remember how Diamond Bank shares were offloaded last year. They couldn't get a cross deal partner, they proceeded to float the shares at N1.00 and everything was done within a matter of days. And there was no bull then.

Maybe part of what has made it difficult for Access Bank is the fact that no institutional investor with deep pockets is looking their way. I hope there will be fresh news soon that will attract them.

Meanwhile we keep watching the stock for another round of cico.
He may have borrowed the funds with the lenders knocking on his door......knock, knock, who is there? #Irejecttoomuchgreed grin

As the OcToPuS will say especially for newbies, please no matter what you read or the Bull you see/hear where ever only invest the amount of money you can afford to loose in the NSE....for it's sweet but can also be really bitter. Buy only good stocks with good dividend paying history - especially now. Some who are traders invest all they have to make the kill while others who are investors buy in very small batches.

In this euphoria, People buy stocks that even on NSE you see acronyms like BLS and DIP. BLS is Below Listing Requirements while DIP means Delisting In Process.

Warren Buffett has this to say as a guide: "You never know who is swimming naked until the tide goes out"
