My brother, I have just one word for you... RUN!!! |
You only think it's a disability when you allow other people's opinions to determine your happiness. Now is the time to invest in your future and make sound decisions that will make your life peaceful. There's nothing to be ashamed of in being single, enjoy every moment of it wisely. All married people today were once single. |
teeo: Iyawo, dont believe this op.. The movie would be lovely.. I would see it. This should be first nigerian movie i would see in a cinema.. Even though it would likely be on a week day when movies show for N500Maybe I will stick to the initial plan then |
I feel so happy when I clean. Like someone said earlier, its therapeutic for me . I prefer to clean as I go to avoid build up as I am busy everyday of the week. |
I was looking forward to seeing this movie very soon but with this write up, i don't know what to believe again. The 'Behind the scenes' was quite catchy. |
Geoffrey won? So so happy. I was initially scared that Emeka or Ugo will win. As far as I am concerned, he has been the most consistent contestant in this year's season. That said, I'm happy Clement and Christian aren't going home empty handed with all the hardwork they put in. I hope they make a mark in Ghana's music industry because they have a great platform already. Ugo can still learn music production from someone like Cobhams. He may even turn out to be a better producer than trying to force himself to sing. As for the others, let them go and form a band and start something. They are famous already, people will surely pay to listen to them, hopefully. This year's PF wasn't as exciting as last year's own but kudos to MTN for entertaining us. |
@Standd, your head is there. Coincidentally someone sent this to me today and I decided to share... Post not originally by me #OnWomen …AND LACK OF AMBITION A friend told me, some weeks ago, how he was speaking to a class, most of them, workers and small business people. He related the story of the top-paid CEOs in Nigeria. He said the highest paid earned over 160 million Naira per annum. And he was enjoining these people to work smart and aspire to even higher levels of greatness. And then something happened. Most of the females began laughing excitedly and more than a few asked if my friend had the number of the CEO. Why did they need the number, he asked. Of course, they wanted to get married to him, they chorused! Now, my friend was understandably shocked! Why did they not want to BE the highest paid? Why were they so much more interested in GETTING MARRIED TO an established person rather than CONTRIBUTING TO establishing a person? Why did they seem more in tune with the idea of TAKING value than ADDING value? My friend told me about the incident and I corrected him. The highest paid CEO in Nigeria is Sola David-Borha, CEO Stanbic IBTC, and earning about 177 million Naira per annum. That CEO, interestingly enough, is a WOMAN! I have met some exceptionally gifted ladies. These ladies constantly seek to redefine the status quo and define new standards. They are busy building their dreams rather than slaving to build someone else’s while ignoring theirs. They are inspiring a whole new generation of young people, males and females alike. But they are in the minority. Most of the females I have met, on the other hand, are characterised by a marked lack of vision and ambition, purpose and goals. They are patiently waiting for a prince charming to come and solve all their problems for them. They are scoping the horizons, looking for that unlucky person upon whom they would automatically become a burden. They do not keep abreast on any local, national or international news of significance. Their short term goal is finishing school; mid-term goal is getting married and long term goal is getting kids. Beyond that, they have no other plan. But all females must understand that being a lady is not a license for being lazy, for having no vision and for keeping a ceiling on the range of possibilities capable of being achieved. Being a lady is never an excuse for lack of ambition. LADY but not LAZY- that should be the watchword. |
I learnt how to use it as a child especially when we had to cook vegetables. My mom insisted we learnt how to handle it even when there was a blender which I thought was easier to use. After grinding, your palms will feel so pepperish that you will need palm oil to feel normal again. |
The way people support violence in this country. I fear |
If this is true, then people of Ekitiland should brace up because this is going to be more than they can handle for 4 years |
@OP, God bless you for this topic. I can't begin to count how many kids I've given gifts to that I had to call them back and say "Junior what are you expected to say?". Some of them just run along as if whatever you gave them or did for them is not a big deal. Parents have a long way to go in training up their kids because if you don't, they won't learn it anywhere else. And if they eventually do learn, it will be in the hard way. I have a 5 year old nephew that doesn't allow anyone to watch any other station apart from Nickledon as long as he is in front of the TV set, even visitors. He controls his parents and their emotions and when an adult tries to correct him as a child, all you hear the mother say is that she doesnt want him to cry. The way you train your child is the way they will likely behave when they grow up and are alone. So many spoilt kids everywhere ... Kids of " this generation" indeed. |
ntyce: how come you conclude that she's from a wealthy family? She may not be the wealthiest but she comes from a wealthy background. I know someone who knows someone who knows her family ![]() |

I have an excellent father who treats my mom like a queen, always wanting the very best for her despite her being highly opinionated. Thanks to the Ekiti blood in her . So yes, i'm blessed to have an husband who is superb... a more refined version of my dad ![]() |
God bless Ekiti... the land of hills |
RIP Joan Rivers. I thought she will pull through but that didn't happen. Maybe now some celebrities can rest. E! will definitely miss her |
Taiwo's departure is a huge relief. Kaffy's hairstyle today ehn! |
Some of these stories are pretty scary. That Number 15 is exceptionally a sad one, twins dying on the same day in different towns. |
I heard the man's speech... so touching. I'm happy for him |
teeo: There's love in sharing.Teeo, that kind of sharing get as e be |
The rain is also heavy here in abuja |
You have two options: 1. Quit the relationship OR 2. He quits and leaves you on your own Eitherway, i see someone quitting soon enough Never ever stay in a selfish and unhappy relationship. You sound too young for all this kind of drama and issues |
As I walked in, I was wowed by the faces smiling back at me and I kept thinking to myself that finally it's for real. It felt great |
The part that got me thinking was where he said something about your parents choosing you over their siblings. Some sense in that statement though |
@ okparaugo, have u even considered the fact that your gf may not know what the true situation is and she wants the dust to settle before giving you the full gist? It's possible she was called to settle a case or God forbid, it may even be worse and she doesn't want to give you the details until she is sure. We reject bad news though. So my advice is that you should calm down, when she is less busy you can talk to her and her response is what will determine how you handle the situation. You can then express your displeasure, that's if that will be necessary. Don't be in an haste and say harsh things which you will later regret, well except you have had trust issues with her in the past. By the way, that you pay a few of her bills or meet certain needs doesn't mean she can't move freely. Some ladies just don't like "monitoring spirits " hovering around them. Eventually you will see its not even something you should have worried about in the first place. My two shillings MODIFIED...Did you just call your girlfriend MUMU I give up then! Forget I said anything you hear. |
Why do I have a feeling this issue is beginning to affect the OP's sex life? People saying here that did he marry her for her looks obviously don't know how important neatness is in marriage. Those oversized dresses sometimes ooze offensive odour and that can turn off any man no matter how spiritual the man is. She can still look very attractive for her husband without compromising her standards. A wise woman knows how to go about that. Let her shave, use deodorant if necessary, keep her hair tidy every time, dress smartly even if she decides to cover up everything. I've seen lots of Christians without makeup and jewellery that look tidy and attractive for their spouses. The God I know and serve does not support dirtiness unfortunately a lot of married women are guilty of this because they feel they have hooked the man successfully. The description of the virtuous woman in Prov 31 does not depict an unkempt personality. Op should talk to his wife, unmarried folks may not truly understand what he is going through. |
