Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Bibol(f): 6:39am On Dec 28, 2016
Hello great mothers in this thread. My baby has tiny rashes around the neck, ears and on the cheeks. I'm suspecting it is the baby oil that flows down because his body downwards is free of rashes. Already I've washed all the clothes and sheets just to eliminate the cause

Pls what can I use to clear it because I don't want to use any kind of product that will damage his skin. Someone advised nycil powder, is it very effective?

Family / Re: How Can I Confront My Annoying Mum- In-law by Bibol(f): 7:29am On May 24, 2016
Unfortunately the OP won't like the truth but I'll give my opinion. You come across as someone who will be very difficult to correct. It's not a crime to get help from family but since your husband had already warned you, you should have just played safe and listened but you wanted to please her and that's why you are in this mess now.

Also, sorry to state the obvious but your husband is still a mummy's boy. The earlier you realise that, the better for you. He's still tied to his mum's strings and the problem now is he may already be nursing some thoughts based on all his mum's complaints. I hope that's not the case. I think you should have a sincere conversation with him, tell him how you feel about the hurtful comments and how you will appreciate him stepping up for you but if he doesn't take any action, keep praying and learn not to talk back at your MIL in a disrespectful manner. I have doubts you will be able to pull that off based on your uncouth attitude to people here but this is your problem so you have to deal with it. Be firm, diplomatic but polite. You really need wisdom but I won't advise you to keep swallowing all the things she is doing. Avoid confrontation but don't leave space for her to rain abuses on you or your family.

Your MIL is playing on your age and experience to make you feel intimidated. Don't allow it by just standing there and accepting fate, get to do stuff as much as possible for yourself around the house more often. As in don't rely on her help, you can do it my dear. We women are stronger than we think we are.

And next time, when your husband advises you about inviting her or any troublesome relative, stick with his decision. We learn everyday so take the lessons you have learnt from this situation and utilize them in the future. You can't please everyone. Take the advise already given here and do what works for your predicament.

Stay strong

Fashion / Re: Beauty Of Natural Hair Thread :) by Bibol(f): 2:51am On Aug 29, 2015
Hi, I've been following this thread for a while now and it's been really helpful. I've been rocking my natural hair for five months now but I have a little problem. I can't seem to find a suitable cream for my hair. I have a good hairline but it's so so difficult to comb that most times I have to wash it before it can be brushed and my scalp is aensitive. For now, I'm on wigs but I'll like someone who knows products or home made remedies that can at least soften the hair.

I'm not in Nigeria, if not it would have been easier to get an African product

Long epistle but it is well, I have heard you. Remember to submit to your husband today and enjoy divine blessings. Have a nice day.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I have a divinely blessed home more than anything in this world where my husband and I respect each other's feelings and believe what the bible says, what more can I say, it can only get better by God's grace. Submission and love is not a problem for us so take your sermon somewhere else.

You on the other hand is the one who needs to learn how to love your wife (that's if you are married anyway). If not, kneel down and pray that God blesses you with the bone of your bones so that you can have peace.

I wish you the happiness and marital bliss I already have.

Enjoy your day, mine is already over.

I still don't get why people here are arguing over what is totally clear. Dinachi and co, your point is that women should submit to their husbands whether they treat them right or not, isn't it? Good! Cococandy, your point is also that men should love their wives even as Christ loved the church.

From what I see in the scriptures, love conquers all things and can endure any form of insult and ridicule for it is the greatest commandment. Men have a very serious and great responsibility to love their wives. This to me seems more stricter than the popular submission talk because if a man is to truly love unconditionally, he will correct in love and still keep loving even when his wife or children are not exactly behaving the way he wants. Remember the scriptures also says that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

If we will infer from this passage, it means a man should love his wife whether she is perfect or not, and a woman should submit to her husband with all his imperfections

Both commandments on love and submission are mutually exclusive, and it is expected that a man should love his wife no matter what she does and even be ready to lay down his life for his wife if need be just as Christ loved and died for us AND a woman should submit to her husband no matter what he does. A Christian marriage is different from the world's kind of marriage. That's the scripture, no addition, no subtraction! (Hosea the prophet experienced this first hand when he was asked by God to marry a prostitute, God was trying to teach him what unconditional love really is) Now will God ask us to do something he thinks we aren't capable of handling? Never!

@ Dinachi, I'm not judging you as I am also an imperfect creature but going by all you have typed here, can you boldly show your comments to an unbeliever you are trying to win to Christ and tell him to follow your footsteps and write the way you do? Bible says let no corrupt word come out of your mouth. At some point in this Christian journey, we all need correction. You are being too abusive and you know in your heart that is totally unchristian-like. Don't take this personal, it's just the way it is.

If we claim we are Christians, there's no need heaping abusive words on each other, the unbelievers will just keep laughing at us when they read our comments here and they go ahead and say "See them, church folks, very confused lot!" There are more civil ways to have a decent conversation without exchanging words. Even if people say terrible things about you or don't agree on your point, the ideal thing as a "born- again" is to behave like Jesus, ignore the abuse and make your point decently.

*Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven*

The bible is clear on all issues of life, the only problem is humans that try to twist scriptures to suit their selfish needs. No one likes to be corrected and we all love to point accusing fingers at the other person just to prove our innocence.

P.S : Any Christian that wants to get married should diligently study the books of Songs of Solomon and Hosea. It prepared my heart when I was getting ready for marriage and I learnt a lot from them even more than the marriage books I bought

Enough said!

So you support women not being submissive to their husbands? Is that Christs injunction. Let go of your pride and submit to your husband. Pride kills.

Where did I ever insinuate that Brother Dinachi of God? Your comments here makes one wonder if truly you are a Christian with how quickly you get provoked and hurl insults at people who have a divergent opinion. God's perfect injunction is to love your wife and submit to your husband. Now read the last sentence very slowly this time. Every Christian should at least try to stick to this and life will be better. I'll ignore the insult as my bible taught me better grin

By the way you need the Holy Spirit to obey this injunction to the letter because it is in marriage your Christianity will be tested the most

you're sane unlike some other people on this thread who just concurred to what the pastor said. it takes two to tango. the world is so hypocritical that we think and feel that ONLY women should have good moral conduct, forgetting that we are all humans. a man will cheat, beat, abuse and pounce on his wife at will. society and all her in laws will say FORGIVE HIM, HE'S YOUR HUSBAND. they blame her and accuse her wrongly while the man is applauded.

we have failed GOD

That's what happens when people exalt the word of Men of God more than the word of God who created all men. From a personal point of view, I doublecheck everything I hear from any man of God as it relates with what my bible says and I refuse to follow sheepishly. After all Christ ought to be my perfect role model and every marriage is unique.

A virtuous woman will know when to step in and save the day for her husband, Abigail in the bible readily comes to mind. That's why a good man that wants his marriage to succeed knows he needs to involve his wife in basic plans that will move his family forward. No man is an island

I find it amusing when the failure of a marriage is blamed on one gender alone. Everyone tries to shift the blame onto the next person maybe because it is more convenient. If we have to be sincere with ourselves, it takes two correct heads to make a marriage work. Correct in the sense that both parties have to respect each other's feelings. As the man loves his wife, the woman is bound by the bible to submit her headship to her man.

If a man loves and adores his wife and she keeps proving heady, at some point he will get tired and just 'free' her. On the other hand if the woman keeps being submissive and she gets constantly treated like a doormat she will give up at some point. That's why you hear things like "oh, leave him, as long as I don't know who is cheating on me with he can go to hell" Why is this so? Because humans will be humans and we all have our breaking point. If both parties will follow God's injunction to the letter or at least try to follow, there will be more peace in marriages.

You haven't seen a Dr since you started having the flashes and poor vision in the right eye? The Dr you saw when you had the floaters didn't tell you to run back to him/her once it progressed to flashes and or blurry vision?

I suspect you may be having retinal or vitreous detachment. The best thing you can do for yourself now is to run to a qualified Eye Doctor. National hospital is very good. A dilated fundoscopy will be done to ascertain what could be wrong. If it is indeed retinal/vitreous detachment, you will need a retinal re-attachment surgery immediately. If not, you could lose that eye. Were you ever hit on that eye? Blunt trauma? Are you a sickle cell patient?

By the way, what you have now has lil or nothing to do with the itching and red eyes you had while growing up. That was just a chronic allergic/vernal conjunctivitis. That is usually not vision threatening, but what you have now is not to be taken lightly.

The doc has spoken cool

Why would you want to even try any option first without having a fertility specialist check you guys out? Have them run fertility checks on you, it could be the minutest of reasons that is delaying your conception. After that, you can decide what option is best for you. I'm surprised you have not been seeing a specialist

Exactly. When a man in Africa shows too much love to his woman, it's wrongly termed as being under the influence of 'juju' because it appears the woman is controlling him. There is something wonderful that woman is doing to that man. It could even be as petty as food or sexual games.

Bet my inlaw you know that ain't petty na

Believe this, you can believe just about anything.

He posted barely a month ago frantically looking for solution to his sterility problems. As at 2 weeks ago, he was still creating gazillion threads asking same questions over and over again. And suddenly, just within one week, he's gone to a hospital, done all the procedures involved in IVF and have even gotten pregnant. Now now now ooo. Hian!

He wants people to PM him, asking for info about the hospital and all.

Na today?!?

I kept wondering why he would have to upload his wife's scan on a public forum and why he was creating threads for everything. Now I understand better
