I am sorely disappointed, you have been a contributor here for a very long time.

My approach was methodological and substantive and quite specific, but you have not addressed one question or observation i made, you have just EVADED.

Its your choice.

You even go on to make future projections but founded on nothing, let me burst your future projections.

THE FUTURE in the Middle east is UAV that can give special forces Over-watch with 48 hour endurance and still deliver precision ordinances. Not the outdated A29, not even one USA Middle east partner has procured it. That should tell you something.
Sorry your approach is far from been methodological. It’s not my choice, the Super Tucano is the best COIN air assets we’ve got in the world . Soon in the Middle East the tucanos will take of the skies.
Now kindly give me just two drones you know that would stay in the air for over 24hours and with payloads to carry out precision strikes, you just show you don’t know what you’re talking about.
If there is any future, it’s with the Super Tucano which can carry out ISR missions of over 10 hours and variety of payload of precision strikes which the drones can’t carry.
Dude don’t be disappointed in me cause am human, you’ll disappointed yourself already with your comments.

They chased Boko Haram away from Jos you say yet, the same Boko Haram killed more than 50 people I'm Jos some months ago. The government told you it was Fulani herders and they got away with it because nigerians are gullible, ill informed and easily brainwashed. People who witnessed it first hand were sure it was Boko Haram. This is the progress you're talking about.
Dude don’t be ridiculous huh
BHT killed 50 people in Jos, am not denying the fact that innocent people where killed, if your claims where right. If you tell me bandits or tribal settlement on land issues I would have believe your story. Bros we Dey north naa.

For me the A-29 Super Tucano is a poor marketing strategy for a plane that has limited functionality but is being presented as a game changer to gullible unimportant 3rd world nations that are not considered strategic to USA interests.

The term COIN is one of these buzz word used in contemporary times to address the issues of counter-insurgency strategy in war against insurgency. It means everything but nothing specifically its ambiguous and fluid. As a consequence how do you measure its success huh huh

So when somebody carries a megaphone and says it is the best aircraft for fighting COIN in the world what does that meanhuh what is the unit of measurement, historical deployment, battle records, delivery impact , etc, etc. In actual fact it means NOTHING, its just noise.

But the USA have said so, then it must be true according to a few. If somebody says that the food in his Mums restaurant is the best in the city, but he never eats there, Eeeeee get as he be wink wink wink Will you believe him.

Lets look at Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan and ask to what percentage of USA aircraft deployed over the past 5,7,10 years in these atypical COIN war settings were the A-29 Super Tucano. If you look at the % US flight hours for this the best COIN attack aircraft in the world across all locations the US has been engaged in COIN, how many flight hours has the A-29 Super Tucano in combat huh huh huh huh huh huh So how do you underpin the efficacy of an an attack aircraft without an experiential historical base line to make a deduction from. By presumption and or imagination. huh

Second observation, the USA has allies and partners, number 1 is probably UK or Israel, and NATO in the Middle east its Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, Qatar, Pakistan, Morocco, Jordan all these countries are having issues with insurgency some to greater extent than others. They are either major partner or minor partners with the USA. Africa i really cant see a major strategic partner, or please correct me.

Now considering the relationship of these major partners and or minor partners and the need for COIN attack aircraft, how many of them have procured the A-29 Super Tucano in their inventory of their air forces huh huh huh huh The answer is a very loud resounding NONE not even ONE, I wonder why huh huh huh huh huh

So how did anybody conclude this A-29 Super Tucano is the "Creme de la creme of COIN attack fighter aircraft " This to me is an elaborate marketing ploy given to insignificant and inconsequential poor third world associates not partners.

Using a Yahoo boy term please correct me if i get it wrong, "Guy man chop, Moogo fall"

There is nothing to compare, one is battle tested proven, reliable, rugged ,resilient, bigger payload (triple the A29) and established with stupendous survival under fire, well over four decades, and can even run on poor grade fuel including petrol doesn't need complicated ground control avionics to get airborne.

They are two totally different aircraft so its a failed comparison.

But the crucial issue is we need aircraft in the NE, RIGHT NOW like yesterday not in 4 years time.

If I had $100 million, we could have 12 Sukhoi Su-25 within two week operational and 24 in 4/5 weeks all turning Boko to dust, that would be a complete game changer.

IMO not just my opinion, I know this war is very political and the fifth columnist are not in the rank and file of Nigerian armed forces but somewhere way higher up.

my two pennies , NUFF SAID
Wanted to reply you but when I saw the full length of your comment I was scared to read it. It’s very tucked hot here in the Far north and am tired.
But here are my takes; in terms of precision weaponry the Su25 does not even get close to the tucano, likewise avionics, ISR capability, cost of maintenance and its endurance time.
Starting from next year the Super Tucson will be replacing a lot ground attack assets especially for the S.O.F in the Middle East
The super tucano is a game changer and a beast for ground target should fear.

You nailed it. Saudi Arabia (a known sponsor of terrorism) is a strong US ally. You dare not sue a Saudi citizen to court as an American, no matter what he or she does.

I find it ridiculous that some people still believe the US is in the Middle East to ensure peace and prosperity grin grin grin
Partially you’re right, very country would go after there own national interest but 9/11 was the turning point.
See they know the more terrorism grow in the Middle East and other part of the world, the more Americans are not save.

COMBATING COVID-19: NAF AIRLIFTS MORE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, PROVIDES OTHER SUPPORT AS IT SUSTAINS MEASURES TO CURB SPREAD OF THE VIRUS

As part of its continued support towards combating the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), today, 10 April 2020, airlifted medical equipment and supplies donated by the Turkish Government to Nigeria from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos to the Nnmadi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja. The donated medical items, which consist of several boxes of equipment, medications and other supplies, weighing about 4,000 Kg, were airlifted by a NAF C-130 Hercules aircraft (NAF 917) and handed over by the NAF Aircrew to a representative of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 for delivery to the Central Storage Facility in Abuja.

It may be recalled that the NAF, in furtherance of its constitutional role of providing Military Aid to Civil Authority (MACA), had earlier detailed an aircraft to airlift a team of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) health officials from Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo, where they had travelled to undergo a World Health Organization training programme on the management of COVID-19, but became stranded due to closure of air and land borders by the Government of Congo Brazzaville. Furthermore, the NAF airlifted some healthcare professionals from the Irua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State to Abuja and continues to avail its aircraft for the airlifting of relief materials as well as officials of the Federal and State Ministries of Health and NCDC to enable them sustain their vital functions. It may also be recalled that the NAF had, on 24 March 2020, airlifted medical materials consisting of 107 boxes of medical supplies and equipment donated by the Jack Ma Foundation. Moreover, the NAF, through its Liquid Oxygen Plant at the 103 Strike Group, Yola, is also producing oxygen for distribution to Isolation Centres and designated Hospitals across the Country in support of the national response to the COVID-19 emergency.

As regards the safety of its personnel and their families, the NAF has taken elaborate steps to deal with the COVID-19 threat. Since the first confirmed case in Nigeria in February 2020, the Medical Branch of the Service has undertaken a comprehensive sensitization campaign across all NAF units while emplacing necessary measures to prevent outbreak amongst personnel and their dependants. The sensitization campaign included awareness lectures on precautionary measures as well as the distribution of over 30,000 information, education and communication materials on the disease to NAF units. In addition, some NAF medical doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers have been mobilized as part of the 80 selected Armed Forces of Nigeria medical personnel deployed to support the Federal Government’s effort to deal with COVID-19 in Nigeria.

In addition to the sensitization and training, the NAF has emplaced series of preventive measures to ensure that personnel are adequately protected whilst performing their constitutional role of defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. These measures include the disinfection of facilities as well as the production and distribution of large quantities of hand sanitizers by NAF medical units to personnel and their dependants, especially NAF troops on the frontlines. The Service has also installed hand washing facilities in all NAF units including Headquarters NAF Abuja, while all visitors and passengers boarding NAF aircraft are properly screened and the aircraft disinfected after every flight. Moreover, in order to ensure that NAF medical and emergency personnel get adequate protection against COVID-19, the NAF Investment Limited (NAFIL) Tailoring Workshop contacted relevant Government Agencies for the licensing of locally produced personal protective equipment (PPE) for use in NAF Hospitals. Besides, the Air Force Research and Development Centre (AFRDC) has been tasked to develop a ventilator locally to be used after certification by relevant Government Agencies

While commenting on the steps taken by the Service so far, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, stated that the NAF, along with sister Services and other security agencies, would continue to mobilize its human and material resources and make available its assets to ensure that COVID-19 is defeated. He therefore enjoined all NAF personnel to maintain prescribed personal hygiene and social distancing precautionary measures, whilst eschewing fake news and complying with all directives issued by Defence Headquaerters, including staying at home, where applicable. He noted that by banding together and complying with these precautions, the Nation would collectively overcome the challenge posed by COVID-19.
