More insights from the N.E. frontlines

MY BOXING DAY INVESTIGATIVE TRIP TO KOSHEBE AND ZABAMARI, BORNO STATE.

On the 27th of November, 2020 Boko Haram insurgents loyal to Abubakar Shekau carried out a most despicable terrorist attack in Koshebe village, Mafa Local Government Area of Borno state, slaughtering 44 rice farmers.

They had gathered them on a fenced piece of land pretending to be preparing to preach to them. One after another they were moved into an abandoned building and slaughtered like ram. They, however, allowed one of them to go to the village centre to announce the beheading of the farmers. The killings were carried out over suspicion that the farmers provided information to soldiers about the movement of Boko Haram terrorists.

The next day (28th November 2020), Nigerian troops recovered the remains of the slain farmers who were then given mass burial in Zabamari, Here Local Government of Borno state, in the presence of Gov Babagana Umara Zulum and others.

13 months after the massacre I visited Koshebe to see what life was like for the farmers there and get them to relive the nasty experience of that bloodbath that shook the nation, especially the manner they were slaughtered like rams and goats. I also visited neighbouring Zabamari where the victims were buried in ten graves.

Given the dangerous and unpredictable nature of Boko Haram, for the trip to Koshebe and Zabamari, the Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General CN Musa and the Commander, 7 Division Garrison, Brigadier Garba Haruna, a veteran of the ECOMOG peace keeping in Liberia, mobilised 8 Gun trucks and dozens of soldiers, some of them armed with rocket propelled grenades, RPGs to give me security cover. Gen Haruna also graciously accompanied me on the trip.

I remain indebted to the army for their help. May God continue to protect you guys as you lay down your lives to keep us safe. May God give us victory over the insurgents.

***Watch my Koshebe story on Journalists Hangout tomorrow from 1.30 pm to 3.30pm.

komekn:
We have combatants fighting for thier very lives some have even died. We lack equipment and manpower.

Boko , ISWAP and their affiliates are taking over territory we are fighting an existential war on multiple fronts.

We have Russian expansionism outside of our external borders . France had very unwisely departed from Mali ( after Russian disinformation campaign) making it a defacto launch pad for the West African sub regions Islamic jihadists.

Islamic jihadists have now gone into hitherto very peaceful countries like Ghana Togo, Benin and Cote d'Ivoire and what are we doing.

We have major issues our CASUALTY rate is off the scale and we are not winning this war. The country is in its worse state of insecurity since it's birth.

And you are posting pictures of top brass on s social jamboree.

It's DISSAPOINTING.
Has long has its military related, dude no be me spoil Nigeria.

So, I'll put this question to the floor. What are your predictions in the Russia/Ukraine standoff? Do you think an invasion is plausible at this point? Also, strategically speaking, what would you say is the cost/benefit of Moscow's gambit should the invasion go ahead?
I knew someone would throw this question out here or on the other threads.
For me it's a 50/50 possibilities of an invasion or not cheesy
