cutievik:Lai lai ! |
Whyem15:Thank God that most of these big purchase is done by the federal government and not the army/ military. I know most of us would have been saying the prices where inflated. I don't know the cost of those engine but 28 engines is much and I like such deals. Please you guys should do some little research and sometimes what you see on Google will not be what you'll get if you're going for the real deal ! |
Nemesis4you:Tell them mate ! |
cutievik:And how do you know we are not getting more MRAPs/IFV)AFV, untill today nobody knew the government was buying attack helicopters from the US. Thank God it was blocked and we got the wind of the news. The fact is that any modern Army needs it's dedicated aviation arm with at least dedicated attack platforms and that's one secrete of developed militaries. I don't know where you got you intel about NA and NAF tussle for superiority on the battlefield. Hence I don't know about that, anyways buying the attack helicopters is not putting the Carr before the horse. The only problem me i see is always buying from uncle Sam when there are better alternatives from countries that are ready to sell without delay. |
Whyem15:@whyem15 where are you getting your price from and did you border to read what we are buying ? 28 helicopter engines produced by GE Aviation ...... ? You only mentioned the munitions , naa Wo ! |
cutievik:Can you just hear yourself ![]() It's over 100% over necessary at this point . Before you pass your judgement we are not 100% sure if the attack helicopters where for the NA, we are just speculating. People like you would criticize that they are not equipping the army, now that they are equipping them you're complaining. What kind of human being are you ![]() |
Whyem15:Mate what's your brand of bear ..... ![]() But let's be honest only God knows deal this present administration is going for, if the US lawmakers do not block the deal, how would we know we are buying attack helicopters. Untill they are been delivered ! Talking about the deal, did you read the deal well, we are not buying only the attack helicopters, it also includes helicopters, the proposed sale included 28 helicopter engines produced by GE Aviation, 14 military-grade aircraft navigation systems made by Honeywell, and 2,000 advanced precision kill weapon systems—laser-guided rocket munitions, according to information sent by the State Department to Congress and reviewed by Foreign Policy magazine If we continue acquiring equipments like these will get there soon |
GeneralFarouq:Yes naa, the MI-28NE is proven platform also or we go for the Chinese ZE-10 ? Am thinking the helicopters are for the NA Aviation. Few weeks ago images of NA pilots emerged from Indian am guessing if the NA HQ is opting for there helicopters else where. Just having a wild guess |
tutudesz:Has if naa only dem they sale attack helicopter platform ![]() |
GeneralFarouq:I disagree with you. At least a proper military should have arrays of defferent platforms, even if there roles and functions are the same. The Mi-35m is a fantastic and deadly platform, so also is the cobra attack helicopters. Don't forget that the Mi, apart from its attack role it's a utility and a troop carrier platform. The Cobra on the other hand is much more faster and more maneuver than the Mi, due to the fact that is much more lighter. But both are proven attack platforms ! |
gboye1999:Wow...... 12 AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters and accompanying defence systems to the Nigerian military Could this helicopters be for the NA Aviation Wing ! Thank God they allowed the Super Tucanos to be dekivered, hopefully the remaining batch would be delivered in due time. If the US is not selling why can't we go to China or Russia, why must it be the United States. Am fucking tired with all these there sanctions and blocking of military hardware procurement, even when you have your money. Let's buy else where ![]() Thanks for sharing these ! |
tutudesz:Fine, they'll add more years to there sentence ![]() |
tutudesz:His the sentence too much or small ![]() |
#PressRelease #DHQUpdate NIGERIAN NAVY HANDS OVER CONVICTED PIRATES TO NIGERIA CORRECTIONAL SERVICES The Nigerian Navy has handed over the 10 pirates convicted by Federal High Court Ikoyi for the hijack of FV HAILUFENG II to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Kirikiri, Lagos. The hands over ceremony took place yesterday Tuesday 27 July 2021 at about 1205 noon. It could be recalled that a Nigerian Federal High Court had sentenced 10 pirates involved in the 2020 hijack of a merchant vessel FV HAILUFENG II to 12 years imprisonment each with a fine of N1,000,000.00. Delivering his judgment, Justice Faji said the Federal Government proved beyond reasonable doubt that the pirates did hijack the vessel, FV HAILUFENG II, belonging to Haina Fishing Company. The judge held: “I agree with the prosecution counsel, Labaran Magaji that the prosecution has proved the essential ingredients of the offence committed by each of the defendants; the defendants conspired to commit the illegal act. “All the defendants acted in hijacking the ship to achieve their common goal. “Consequently I find each of the defendants guilty as charged on all the counts. “Each defendant is hereby sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. “In addition, the defendants should pay a fine of N1million each. “The offence committed by the defendants affects the wellbeing of Nigerians and our image in the diaspora. “The naira sum, dollars, and various currencies recovered from the defendants by the Nigerian Navy are hereby forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.” In his submission, the lead prosecution counsel, Mr Labaran Magaji averred that the verdict would send a strong warning to other criminal elements that Nigeria has zero tolerance for maritime criminals and that Nigerian institutions, both Nigerian Navy, prosecuting agencies and security agencies are ready to counter criminal activities. The defence counsel has promised to appeal the judgment. On 15 May 2020, the Nigerian Navy rescued 18 crew members on board a Chinese vessel, FV HAILUFENG II after a pirate attack. Subsequently, 10 suspects were charged before the Federal High Court, Ikoyi. The suspects were charged to 4 counts on piracy with the offence contravening the provisions of Section 3, 10 and 12 of the Suppression of Piracy and Other Maritime Offences Act 2019. The defendants included Frank Abaka, Jude Ebaragha, Shina Alolo, Joshua Iwiki, David Akinseye, Ahmed Toyin, Shobajo Saheed, Adekole Philip, Matthew Masi, and Bright Agbedeyi.
