I guess, EHINDERO made a big mistake after retirement. What a joke. |
Posted by MAMAJAMA Hell no, you are too UGly to be related to ALAM, please bring some of IBb money to Hilton next month I will be around. Just like old times pepper soup and palmy. Stil got love for you my boy.lol |
Very soon the dead heads will label me as ALAM's nephew. |
Also keep in mind that I'm not here trying to justify ALAMS corruption charges; if he's guilty, he must pay. I'm just asking the federal government to be careful and not to mess up like before. Don't give this criminals any reason to cry of any treacherous dealing. It will be sensible to wholly eradicate unfair conduct during this war against corruption process. |
Posted by MAMAJAMA: BIGB1 I keep telling you stop reading QURAN and start reading some legal journal or even watch Judge Judy for Christ sakelol |
Who killed Bola Ige? Who killed Funsho Williams? |
Stop fooling yourself, it is common sense; a sick individual should be allowed to have visitors. Could you please display the constitution of Dubai that states that an arrested sick individual is not permitted to have visitors? Or Display the conditions of his medical visit to Dubai? Keep in mind that ALAMS has not been found guilty of any crime. Trust me, if we want the war against corruption to be successful, we must be very careful or else it will all go down as the same old story. |
It doesn't matter who he met. Atiku is the former vice president and his friend, what is wrong with that? MAMAJAMA: just watch, because what goes around also comes around. Who is going to visit EHINDERO (in KIRIKIRI) as soon as the relocation process is completed? We shall see. Keep in mind that EHINDERO is not off the hook yet; he's still one of these criminals and I will prove it with time. Do not think we forgot, his time is around the corner; for now, let's deal with the big fish, we will definitely return back to the rats e.g EHINDERO and his low life boys |
Posted by MAMAJAMA: Chelsea hotel is less than a 2 star hotel in my view, I'm not sure if that property is worth that priceMAMAJAMA: Pay attention to the topic. |
Absolutely rubbish! Yes, the man is corrupt and should pay, but I do not see anything wrong with him having a visitor; even "condemned prisoners have visiting right. If we want this war against corruption to go on smoothly and to be successful, we must be fair, civilized, respect the constitution, respect the citizens and embrace perfection through out the process. There is no room for unnecessary mistakes. |
Alamieyeseigha bundled back for meeting with Abubakar Atiku in Dubai ECONOMIC and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may have bundled the ailing former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha from a Dubai hospital in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) to Lagos on Tuesday over alleged security breach. Daily Champion learnt that the security breach was anchored on alleged visit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to Alamieyeseigha in UAE recently. One of Alamieyeseigha’s counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome confirmed the return of his client from UAE but maintained that he did not breach any security. He said he was not aware of Atiku’s visit. Also reacting, National Publicity Secretary of the Action Congress (AC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said even if Atiku had met Alamieyeseigha in Dubai recently, "it does not amount to security breach." He, however, said he was not aware of the visit, adding that "condemned prisoners have visiting right." According to him, if Atiku had visited the ex-governor, it would be ridiculous to describe such a visit as security breach. "I don’t have the facts, I don’t know the bail conditions. If a man is abroad and is sick, I find it extremely strange for him not to receive visitors," Mohammed said. Several calls to EFCC spokesman, Mr Osita Nwajah by Daily Champion as at 11.10 p.m. yesterday were not okayed. It was further learnt that EFCC may force Alamieyeseigha to appear in court today in continuation of his trial for alleged money laundering. A relation of Alamieyeseigha’s who does not want his name in print told our reporter last night that the former governor still has an unidentified foreign object in his body and that he was not well before being bundled back to Nigeria from UAE. He said the alleged maltreatment of Alamieyeseigha would be resisted as the EFCC has no right to forcefully discharge the former governor from the hospital without a doctor’s permission. Following the deteriorating health of Alamieyeseigha, a Federal High Court Lagos ordered the EFCC to allow the former governor to seek medical treatment abroad. He subsequently travelled to Dubai last month and was said to be responding to treatment. It would be recalled that Alamieyeseigha was impeached by the state House of Assembly for jumping bail in London on December 12, 2005. He was consequently handcuffed and arraigned on December 21, 2005 before a Federal High Court Lagos on 40-count charge of money laundering filed by EFCC. Among the allegations preferred against him in the charges dated December 19, 2005, was that himself and a company, Solomon & Peters Ltd, between October 1999 and December 2003, converted £241 million (N60.7billion) from Lagos to London to buy the properties at a Flat 202 Jubilee Heights, Shoot Uphill London NW23 UQ. Seven other companies that are to be tried alongside Alamieyeseigha are, Solomon & Peters Ltd, Santolina Investment Corporation, Pesol Nigeria Ltd, Salomein and Associates (Nig) Ltd., Kpedefa Nigeria Ltd, Jetty Properties Ltd and Herbage Global Services Ltd. Alamieyeseigha and Herbage Global Services Ltd were also alleged to have between January 2005 and September 2005, in the Lagos judicial division of the Federal High Court, converted the sum of N1.5billion to buy a property known as Chelsea Hotel, Abuja http://odili.net/news/source/2007/jul/19/599.html |
EFCC to Prosecute 6 More Ex-Govs Six former governors will soon be arrested and prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), THISDAY has learnt. Three of the governors are believed to be "close" to the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, while another two are said to have contributed to the purse of the PDP in the presidential elections. This revelation came yesterday even as the EFCC seemed set to arraign former governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, in Lagos today for allegedly laundering amounts totalling N5.621 billion during his eight-year tenure. EFCC's decision to arrest and prosecute more former governors, according to an inside source, followed the "maturation" of the cases that were investigated against them. "We want to follow the rule of law to the letter," the source said "We don't want to miscarry justice. Our aim is to establish water-tight cases so that nobody will acuse us of double standards or poorly done investigations." THISDAY gathered last night that Nnamani will be arraigned today in Lagos on a 34-count charge of fraud, conspiracy, concealment and money-laundering. Nnamani and three other persons using seven business concerns allegedly owned by him were fingered in the siphoning of the said funds. What could have been a formal arraignment of the embattled former governor before Justice Muhammad Shuaib of the Federal High Court, Lagos by EFCC was stalled yesterday as the commission failed to produce him in court. EFCC operatives were said to have taken Nnamani into custody on Monday in Abuja. The former governor who had been on admission at the National Hospital, Abuja had gone to the EFCC office on Monday evening when operatives of the anti-graft commission promptly arrested him. But THISDAY learnt that Nnamani complained to the operatives that he had not completed his treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja and needed to take his medication following which he was taken back to the hospital. Yesterday, operatives of the EFCC standing guard at Nnamani’s ward in the hospital restricted his movement and interaction with people. His phones were allegedly taken from him and switched off. But because of his expected arraignment in Lagos today, the former governor was said to have been transferred to Lagos. Anxious journalists had laid siege to the premises of the court as early as 7.30 am based on the news that the former governor was going to be arraigned. They were disappointed when by 3.00pm, there was no sign of Nnamani and EFCC officials. Although it could not be ascertained why EFCC elected to arraign Nnamani in Lagos instead of Abuja where his three other former colleagues are facing trial but a source said it might not be unconnected with the fact that the ex-governors’ three former commissioners are already facing trial in Lagos. The EFCC had last February named Nnamani in a N5,411,730,026 money laundering suit it instituted against the three officials. They were accused of concealing the origin of the N5.4bn that formed part of the statutory allocation to the state local government’s funds. The accused were also alleged to have collaborated with Nnamani to perpetrate the money laundering act. Though Nnamani’s name appeared throughout the 29-count charge, he could not be prosecuted over the alleged financial crimes because he was protected by the immunity clause in Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution. The source said since the court in Lagos had refused to grant bail to the former commissioners since their arrest many months ago, EFCC might want Nnamani to join his former commissioners in the Lagos trial. However, the charge sheet with the suit No FHC/L/230C/07, dated July 16, 2007 and signed by Mr. S.K. Atteh, on behalf of the Chairman of the EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, a copy of which was made available to THISDAY at the court premises yesterday. It listed other accused persons as Sunday Anyaogu and Sylvia Onwubuemeli as well as Chinero Nwigwe said to be at large. The companies alleged to be involved in the various deals included Rainbownet Nig Ltd, Hillgate Nig. Ltd., Cosmos FM, Capital city Automobile (Nig.) Ltd, Renaissance University Teaching Hospital, Renaissance University and Mea Mater Elizabeth High School. Part of the 34-count reads: •That Chimaroke Nnamani, Chinero Nwigwe (now at large), Sunday Anyaogu, Sylvia Onwubuemeli, Rainbownet Nig Ltd, Hillgate Nig. Ltd., Cosmos FM, Capitalcity Automobile (Nig.) Ltd, Renaissance University Teaching Hospital, Renaissance University, Mea Mater Elizabeth High School between August 2003 and May 2007 within the jurisdiction this Court did conspire among yourselves to commit an offence wit: laundering of funds belonging to Enugu State Government Statutory Allocation and you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2004. • That you Chimaroke Nnamani, Chinero Nwigwe (now at large), Sunday Anyaogu, Sylvia Onwubuemeli, Rainbownet Nig Ltd, Hillgate Nig. Ltd, Renaissance University Teaching Hospital, Renaissance University, Mea Mater Elizabeth High School sometime in the year 2004 within the jurisdiction of this Court did collaborate to conceal the genuine origin of the sum of N66,778,445 which sum was illegally taken from the statutory allocation to Aninri Local Government in Enugu State and you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 14(1) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2003. Meanwhile, former Anambra State governor, Dr. Andy Uba, denied yesterday that he was in the know of how former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, contributed huge sums of money for the failed third term project. Special Assistant to Uba, Mr. Chuks Akunna, said in a statement that the former governor was never a witness to Turaki or any other person handing out money for the project. He said in the statement that, “The attention of Dr. Andy Emmanuel Uba (MFR), former governor of Anambra State, has been drawn to certain ‘confessional statements’ credited to former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, to the effect that he (Uba) was in the know of how Turaki contributed huge sums of money in support of the failed tenure elongation agenda. “Even though the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has come out in black and white to declare that no governor, Turaki inclusive, was found to have contributed money in support of the third term agenda, Dr. Andy Uba still finds it necessary to state, for the records, that he was never witness to Alhaji Saminu Turaki, or anybody for that matter, handing out any money for any project. “Dr. Andy Uba understands that this may not be the best of times for the former governor and his aides, but also believes that Alhaji Saminu Turaki should be able to navigate the legal minefields without resorting to dragging his (Andy’s) name into the matter for political reasons best known to Turaki and his aides.” http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link="http://www.thisdayonline.com" |
1. Adedibu (because he keeps it real) 2. Akala (because he shows us that you do not need education to take it to the next level) 3. KALU (because he represents the people) 4. Lucky (because he understands the real meaning of poverty) 5. Fayose (because the man knows magic; he knows how to disappear and re-appear and disappear; all in Ekiti) 6. OBJ ( because he understands corruption and enjoys young ladies) 7. Bush (because the man operates like a Nigerian; he's already turning United states into United Nigeria) 8. Ehindero ( because the man doesn't believe in stealing while he's in office, he delays stealing till after retirement) 9. Atiku ( because the entire Nigeria belongs to him) 10. MAMAJAMA (because it requires absolutely nothing for one to become the president of Nigeria) |
I'm not that stupid. Please, take your time and bring it on! |
@MAMAJAMA Simmer down, my friend. I will never contradict myself in any way; I'm a man and I have big balls. I stand up high for my belief. Go back and double check; and I can assure you that I've also listed my reasons for pulling for IBB. If IBB goes down today, I have absolutely nothing to gain or lose. My goal is to see my lovely country fly high and higher again. It is simple and not that complicated. If you relax and take your time, you will quickly realize my points and why I refuse to view things the way things are designed for you people to see. |
Lack of specialization from the top to the bottom. Only in Nigeria you will find a restaurant business owner to become commissioner for education , while the commissioner for aviation also used to be a dentist. (it's all about who you know at the top, I wouldn't be surprised if EHINDERO is picked as the next Chairman of Nigerian Pilot association, even though the man has never been on the airplane before) Infact, OBJ moved one the ministers more than 2 times to different positions within a year; I believe the man's name is OBORISHADE. I may be wrong. It makes no sense. SHORT TERM and SHORT CUTS= Original Nigerian way of life |
Infact, if a governor's assets is worth more than 10 million Naira, he should be sent straight to prison. This should be a new law. Enough of this rubbish, we do not want uneducated business CEO to rule our states anymore. Allow the real people; what happen to the professors, school teachers and other ordinary Nigerian citizens? They should be given a chance; I bet you that this group of people will be more focused and produce more for the people, because they truly understand the real meaning of poverty. I think this government should spend more or pay more attention to prevention. Let's design a better strategy to prevent politicians from taking us for a ride. When you place a man that also has 10 businesses all over the world in the office as the governor, what do you expect from this individual? Prevention is better and cheaper than cure. If this government doesn't start the implementation of their corruption prevention strategy on time, I guarantee you folks that in 4 years (at the end of their term), we will start arresting the current governors; which means the same bullshit starts all over again. The question is how long are we willing to continue with this rubbish? and how long is it going to take us to start planting long term solutions? |
Questions: 1. Give us the yearly summary of his business activities from year 2000 through 2007 2. If there is any government contract involved; what are the terms of the contracts and who signed the contracts? 3. How long is this elevator business has been around? 4. Give us the number of elevators they've installed or maintained from year 2000 through 2007? Without magomago, I still do not see how an ordinary elevator business, in Nigeria for that matter could fetch you billions of Naira. Moreover, I think it is pure corruption and contradiction (conflict of interest) when a governor of any state in Nigeria is also engaged in any federal government contracts. It is not right. Governor positions in Nigeria must be made unattractive to these criminals in general. How could you operate 5 businesses and still want to maintain a governor position? Impossible! Do you know how many hours a day it takes to operate one business? Governor position should not be mixed with business. It is either you want to be a business man or you want to be a governor. They shouldn't be allowed to combine the two. We need our governors to be focused and do their assigned jobs; improve the lives of the locals by elevating their standard of living. Improving: Medical, Education, Job opportunities, Roads, Water supply, Electricity supply, and so on should be the main priorities of our governors, not international business career. We do not need CEO governors; they are absolutely useless, unfocused and only become governor to steal. |
Another one is down! |
Ex-gov Nnamani arrested: Turaki weeps as court refuses bail for him, Kalu - Dariye returns to EFCC cell THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the immediate past governor of Enugu state, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, the Nigerian Tribune can authoritatively reveal. This is contrary to reports that he had fled the National Hospital, Abuja, where he was being treated for an undisclosed illness. The Commissioner for Information in his administration, Mr. Igbonekwu Ogazimorah, confirmed his former boss’s arrest by the anti-corruption agency. Ogazimorah told the Nigerian Tribune on the telephone that his former boss was taken away by the commission’s operatives yesterday afternoon. The commission’s operatives were said to have cordoned off the male ward of the National Hospital immediately they got wind of Nnamani’s stay in the ward. About 16 detectives were put on surveillance to forestall any escape attempt by the former governor. The commission had accused the former governor of looting the state to the tune of billions of naira during his eight-year tenure. While still in office, two of his commissioners were arrested and charged to court by the commission over allegations of assisting the ex-governor to steal the state’s money. In a related development, the immediate past governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, fought tears unsuccessfully on Monday, as a Federal High Court in Abuja remanded him and his Abia State counterpart, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, in prison custody pending the determination of their bail bids in a week’s time. Their Plateau counterpart, Chief Joshua Dariye, was, however, ordered by another court to continue his stay in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) till Thursday when his bail application would be looked into. The three former governors are being tried by the anti-graft commission on allegations of money laundering running into about N40 billion while in office. Clutching a copy of the Holy Quran, Turaki, who is a serving senator, gave in to emotions and sobbed in court when it dawned on him that the trial judge, Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako, would not be considering his bail application. His relatives could not but share in his grief as some of them also wept openly. All the three former governors were formally charged on Monday with all of them pleading not guilty to all the counts. While Kalu stood for about two hours in the dock to enter his plea for the 107 counts against him, Turaki had to contend with 32 counts, while Dariye’s was 14 counts. Turaki had to salute the stamina of Kalu for standing all through the plea-taking exercise by saying “you are strong o” when Kalu was asked to step down from the dock. The prosecuting commission also revealed that the accounts of the indicted former governors would be frozen soon. Its counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, told journalists after the court session that the commission was already working towards achieving that, which he said would be sealed by the court. In the different charges against the former governors, Turaki is alleged to have laundered about N36 billion, Kalu, N3.1 billion and Dariye, N750 million. Kalu and Turaki, who appeared before Justice Nyako, had their bail applications turned down because they were filed moments before their trial commenced, with the trial judge conceding to the request of the prosecuting counsel that time should be given to respond to the issues raised in the applications. Sensing that their freedom would not be early, they separately requested to remain in the EFCC custody, and despite the prosecution not objecting, the judge ordered that they should be kept in prison custody. Dariye, who appeared before Justice Babs Kuewumi of the same court, also had his bail bid stalled, due to time factor in the filing, but the judge still okayed his continued stay with the commission. While Dariye was asked to come back on Thursday, Kalu’s trial was adjourned to July 25 and Turaki, July 23. Speaking through his counsel, Mike Ozekhome, Kalu pointed out that great men like Mandela had gone through his type of ordeal, saying that he saw no big deal in the judge’s order. The anti-graft commission, in its case against Turaki, claimed that he laundered N33.6 billion in one year, with N17 billion out of the said amount in one day. He was also accused of stealing $20 million within the same period. The commission claimed that the former governor commenced the alleged fraud on May 3, 2006. http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link="http://www.tribune.com.ng" |
Why should I be dancing behind Short term and Short cuts? The same strategy that has brought us to our kneels Gimme a break! It is time for real vision, real solution, and real leader. While solid corruption prevention implementation is immediately introduced, I say all corrupt government officials must be arrested and prosecuted accordingly |
McKren: Go ahead and teach me more about what this is all about. Who are you preaching to, my man? Dude, like I've said "you must be feeling very nice about yourself" I want nothing but the best for my lovely country, Nigeria; but I also refuse to be a fool and to be taken for a ride over and over again. Time will tell and the real fool will eventually be exposed. |
It all comes back to "a corrupt system and a very dirty culture" |
Mckren: you must be feeling so good about youself today; definitely you won't need viagra tonight. Bravo and keep it up. |
You guys seem to be taking turn and having a lot of fun with Big b1; that is very cool with me. Time will tell! One love always! |
I think it is clear to all that all these politicians are corrupt to the bone. I personally feel that it makes no sense for a Stinky man to call a garbage man DIRTY. It makes no sense. All I'm asking from our government is to be fair, professional, respect our Constitution and embrace perfection during these operations. Or else, the end result will be business as usual (i.e all governors will be sent back to their mansions). Moreover, I always feel that if government is truly serious about fighting war against corruption effectively and efficiently, they must pay more attention to prevention. Prevention is much better and cheaper than cure. Question is how do you prevent corruption in Nigeria? This should be our main focus. You can arrest every single governor from 1979 to 2007 if you want; this is not enough and it is not sending any message to anybody. It is only educating the new governors to be smarter and design a better strategy or a new method to futher loot our nation. I totally support the arrest of the governors, as long as the government is going to be fair and do their job accordingly. No short cuts, no magomago and no selectivity. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? |
Posted by Denex Governor #1: Lucky Igbinedion. OBJ wasn't a governor. When I first posted this comment, many picked KALU as the governor#2. FACT: All Nigerian governors fall in one of these categories. The question is: who is to be arrested and who is to be set free? I will chill and watch. |
Simmer down folks. I will cool down and watch the drama; let's hope for the best and see how far we Nigerians can push this defective vehicle; at least the current driver (Yar'Adua) is not drunk unlike the other driver. Time will tell! One love, one Nigeria |
Posted 2/11/07 3 Nigerian Governors: |
lol It is laughable and amusing to see that you guys continue to throw stone at the wrong man. McKren, you truly feel good about yourself, feeling you've accomplished your goal. Please gimme a break. I have no other choice, but to lol; I'm the wrong guy, my friend. If IBB or all the governors go down today, I have absolutely nothing to gain or to lose. And God knows, that is the fact. Nigerian politics is full of confusion and with time, the truth will come out. Time will tell and what I'm preaching will be realized very soon as usual. |
@Denex: If you understand politics, then you will understand that this current administration will never go after OBJ. Asking OBJ to step aside to reduce complexity of things is totally different from asking government to go after him. |
Posted by Seun Where is the source of this story? Why can't you people just post your sources? This is really annoying.Mr Seun, take it easy. |
