If you know 1 or 2 things about IBB, you'll know that this man just doesn't come out to talk rubbish. Pay attention!

Big B1 will be inconsolable at the moment.

@ Gbawe: That will not be necessary.

In fact, I will not be surprised if Big B1 emerges very soon as another incredible leader from a very popular part of Nigeria.  lipsrsealed

Let us continue to be thankful to God and hope for the best.

How do you know when to throw in the towel?

A true leader must know how to identify the best time to throw in the towel.
Unfortunately, most leaders in Africa do not have the wisdom or courage to identify when to say goodbye. As a result of this majority of this group of people are pushed out of the door to their pitiful downfall.

Nigerians must give credit to IBB for being able to lay a priceless example for the rest; I'm confident that many Nigerians in general will follow the foot steps of a real leader and a true soldier.

2 things:
First, it will take some time to ever again witness another charismatic, well balanced, emotionally intelligent, most articulate and a strong experienced leader in Nigeria as IBB.
Second, IBB may just be the only entity in Nigeria today that has the stamina/ capability to quickly resolve the despicable scenario Nigerians are currently experiencing in Nigeria.

And finally, whether we like it or not, IBB remains one of a kind and one of the most respectable politicians in Nigeria today and tomorrow.

We will wait out till 2015 and I can bet that no southerner would casxt a vote for a Northern hegemonist, hence no northerner will be president!!!
Exactly the same sentiments that got us here in the first place.
I wonder how long it will take us to be delivered from this f00lish state of mind we display here on a regular.

It shouldn't matter who is contesting or who is elected; what we should focus more on is the capabilities of candidates to perform their job effectively and efficiently.
Ignoring qualifications and capabilities, and simply voting for pin heads (incompetent candidates) just because they share the same village with our father is absolutely not the right thing to do.

Personal feelings and sentiments among all Nigerians should be set aside in determining the right future we deserve.

BigB1

The Nation is goverened by laws

It can not be ur way or the high way

Enjoy the interview by our able Noble Laureate above
Are you referring to the same laws your past and present leaders have stepped on over and over?
When your laws are not working for an average citizen, it means it's time to revise the laws and move forward.
And I think this is what will happen eventually.

Things can not continue this way any longer. Too many innocent lives are being wasted on a regular, while our president continues to hide in his bedroom.

We need a leader that is ready to fight for us and our country.
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 11:24pm On Jan 21, 2012
I believe that Jonathan is not brilliant enough to lead even a LGA

But he has already been elected President and we must live with it until 2015

It is not up to any group to make back room deals when they like

we have a constitution! The President is going no where!
This conclusion is totally unfair. I could just tell that you live very far away from Nigeria, may be hasn't been back for sometime. So, I can understand why you clearly don't give a d@mn if Mr. president continues to hide in his bedroom whenever there is an attack.

My question for you: Would you allow an inexperienced pilot to continue to fly you around the world for the next 4 years?
I'm sure that your answer will be a big NO.
And this is exactly how most Nigerian citizens feel today, big NO to Jonathan. Some of these innocent citizens won't even make it to next week, simply because our leader, Mr.president is severely incompetent.
Therefore, you should be ashamed of that ridiculous conclusion of yours
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 11:05pm On Jan 21, 2012
This is part of the living in denial I am talking about. Boko Haram originated from Maidugiri and this fact is in the public domain.
Just because Boko Haram originated from Maiduguri doesn't mean the northerners are directly responsible for these despicable attacks.
The funding could be coming from anywhere in Nigeria or world. In fact, a yoruba or Igbo man may be responsible. Who knows?
But to point fingers at any ethnic groups in Nigeria is absolutely not a sensible move.

It is still in the record that Afghanistans are not the folks responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Bin Laden and 99% of the people that carried out the attacks from Afghanistan were from other countries. Yet, unfairly Afghanistan citizens are still paying for these attack up till today.

My point, Boko Haram may originates from any part of the country, that doesn't mean who is responsible is from northern Nigeria.
Without any questions, it should be President Jonathan's top priority to identify who is responsible and prevent more attacks. But clearly it seems that Mr. President has no glue or will to get his job done effectively and efficiently.

And this why we are calling for a real leader to come and rescue  our future. What we currently have is absolutely far, may be too far from a true leader and what Nigerians deserve at this critical moment.
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 10:41pm On Jan 21, 2012
During my service year some years ago in Sokoto (Bodinga LGA). I came accross students who had no clue about anything in Maths, English, History, Science. I mean a whole class getting "F" in Juniour WAEC in these subjects but a resounding "A" in Arabic studies and Islamic studies. Is there anything else they were learning in Islamic and Arabic studies other than how anybody who does not believe in their religion is an infidel and does not deserve to live?
First, thank God, I happen to belong to both religions; hence, I can clearly see both sides of the coin.

We do not know where these attacks are coming from or who is responsible. Therefore, to label any ethnic groups in Nigeria for the attacks is close to what I call despicable.
Instead of blaming anyone for something that is unclear at this moment is totally f00lish, instead, let us focus more on our number 1 man in the country, whose one of his responsibilities is to protect the citizens of this great nation.

As we speak Mr. president is still hidding in his bedroom.
He doesn't posses the skills, or experience or wisdom or courage to come out like a leader to address his followers at this very critical time in the country.
This action is completely absurd from every angle.

God knows that we badly need a leader in Nigeria, what we have at the moment is far from a true leader or what we deserve.
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 10:29pm On Jan 21, 2012

This country belongs to no ethnic group in particular and to suggest that the way to stop Boko Haram from blowing up the country is to encourage Jonathan to step down is simply very very disgraceful.
My man, It has been over 6 months since Mr president has been elected. During this 6 months, over 50 explosions have happened, over 1400 innocent citizens have died and over 500 were injured.
And yet there isn't a single plan put together by Mr.President to either identify who is responsible for these attacks or to prevent more attacks from taking place.
Whenever there is an explosion or attack, His METHOD OF OPERATION is to simply disappear for a couple of days without saying a thing and then return days later to cry. What kind of leadership style is this?

Again, as we speak our president is still in his bedroom hidding. What kind of leader can we label this as?

Therefore, President Goodluck Jonathan has left us with absolutely nothing but to persuade him to pull the plug and release himself and Nigerians from this unbearable misery.

We've only asked for a few, but millions showed up; leadership is not for everybody.

It is not by force!
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 9:55pm On Jan 21, 2012
By the way why are you so confident that the attacks will stop if the President resigns? it makes me think his very presence in the office in the reason for the attacks in the first place? I am sorry that will not happen. The next election is 2015. Boko Haram can blow up the country all the like but Jonathan must remain in office. He has the people's mandate to do so!
My man, we are on the same side.
Apart from going to see the victims and crying a couple of days after xmas, Mr. President hasn't done anything tangible to seriously stop this attacks. He has no plans and he finds it very challenging to come out and address the nation.
As we speak, the dude is still in his bedroom hidding.
What kind of leader is this?

Honestly, if the praise singers around Mr. President could only just allow this dude to be himself, I think president Jonathan would have stepped down a couple of months ago.
If you pay attention to his facial expression, his broken voice, his empty speeches and his disappearance when he's needed the most, it wouldn't take you too long to clearly realize that he is tired, he has no idea, he has no will or motivation, he is frustrated, and pretty much sick to his stomach at this point; absolutely unlike a true leader that we need in Nigeria at this very critical moment.

Mr.President should just do himself and Nigerians a favor, and simply step down.
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 9:33pm On Jan 21, 2012
Thats not going to happen.

The last time I checked the next election is 3years away.

If the reason people are blowing up the country here and there is so that the President will be asked to step down, I am sorry they have 3 long years of terror to engage in as the President is going no where!

Not a fan of GEJ but he must remain in power until the next election.

We must not as a Nation give in to the will of terrorists!

First, the idea to nicely persuade Mr.President to step down is not to support terrorists, it is absolutely senseless for anyone to prescribe such.
Our goal here is to prevent more attacks, stabilize the economic, reduce government senseless spending, eradicate corruption and protect the citizens.
And it is clearly apparent that this list is extremely challenging for Mr.President to attain. He has no glue of where to start or where to stop. He seems to be completely out of touch with the entire nation he has been elected to lead. It simply makes sense to allow this dude to step aside and do whatever needs to be done to rescue this nation from the hands of the unGodly entities.
If this doesn't happen right away, the foundation of  this nation will eventually crumble, and innocent citizens are usually the victims, and not the politicians that brought us this low.

Moreover,  Mr.President has already given up too many times in the past. Once again, his disappearance at this very critical moment in Nigeria has confirmed that he has no glue, no will and absolutely not the right person for this serious position.

And folks, it shouldn't be about anybody, but all about restoring our great country back to normal.
Again, personal feelings and sentiments among all Nigerians should be set aside in determining the right future we deserve.

Big B1

If he steps down who replaces him?

No disrespect, but this question sounds like is from an extremely hopeless and depressed entity.

Nigeria is a wonderful country full of bright creative people, if we are sensible enough to set aside personal feelings, personal agenda and sentiments, I'm confident that we will come up with a sincere, focused, and competent replacement.
And believe it or not, it all depends on us, Nigerians.

NEW: Military official tells CNN that at least 156 people were killed
The Red Cross in Abuja reports 50 injuries
Nigeria closes its borders with Niger and Cameroon and imposes a state of emergency
The Islamist militant group Boko Haram claims responsibility

Lagos, Nigeria (CNN) -- Nigeria imposed a 24-hour curfew Saturday in the northern city of Kano after assailants killed scores of people and wounded others in a hail of gunfire and coordinated bombings of eight government sites.

A military official told CNN that at least 156 people were dead and feared the number would rise.

"The hospitals are not equipped to deal with the influx and severity of the injuries, so we are expecting that figure to go up further," the official said.

Nwankpa Nwankpa, a Red Cross information officer in the capital, Abuja, said 50 people were injured in the attacks. He said that search and rescue operations are underway and volunteers are working to assist the injured. . . . .

And so far, nothing yet has been addressed by Mr.President.
Politics / President Goodluck Jonathan Should Just Please Step Down. by BigB11(m): 7:33pm On Jan 21, 2012
It is now almost 24 hours after the explosions in Kano and Beyelsa, and our number 1 leader, president Goodluck Jonathan is yet to address the nation. The entire country is scared, confused and pretty much hopeless.
This is absolutely not the Nigeria we all envisioned just 9 months ago. What happened and where is the leadership in this country?
Let us all set aside our differences and totally reject any senseless sentiments; it is what it is, it is clearly apparent now that this president is a nice man, but absolutely not the right person for this serious position at this very critical moment in Nigeria.

It will simply be pleasant if all Nigerians come together to persuade president Goodluck Jonathan to show the entire world that his integrity, as a person and as a man remains intact, if he bites the bullet and PLEASE steps down as the president of this wonderful country. Or else many innocent Nigerians (especially children, senior citizens and Mr.Nobody) will unnecessarily suffer severely for the next 10 years.

Nigeria is my motherland and an incredible country that badly needs competent and experienced leadership in-charge; and definitely not what we're being fed for the past 6 months. We deserve better.

Personal feelings and sentiments among all Nigerians should be set aside in determining the right future we deserve.

Politics / Re: Fashola For President Of Nigeria by BigB11(m): 11:35pm On Jan 16, 2012
Fashola happens to be one of my fav leaders today in Nigeria.
But for some reasons I do not believe that at this time he has what it takes to lead Nigeria effectively and efficiently.
Leading Nigeria is a completely different animal/ball game. We are not talking about just Lagos, we are talking about the entire Nigeria.

Fashola still can't even handle Tinubu, how do you think this dude will be able to handle the northerners effectively?
Nigeria needs a very strong leader, who has the capabilities and charisma to be respected by everybody and reach out to the entire country broadly.
I'm very sure that respect for Fashola will not pass Ogun state.

I also think Fashola as a president will struggle when it comes to making certain decisions. Lekki toll amongst many other decisions is a very good example of weak decision by Fashola.
Lagos state remains the easiest state to manage in Nigeria, therefore it will be foolish to grade him based on his performance on managing the richest and easiest state in Nigeria.
I need Fashola to be the governor of Oyo state or Kogi state for just a year. I guarantee you guys that you will witness his weakness in less than 4 months.
Politics / Re: Ibb To Jonathan: Begin Restructuring Of The Country Now by BigB11(m): 10:26pm On Jan 16, 2012
Leadership role is not for everybody; as far as I'm concerned Jonathan has no business in Aso Rock or anywhere close to Abuja. I'm still very much confident to say IBB should have been the president of this great nation, especially at this very fragile moment.
IBB regime would have restored many things in Nigeria by now.

Just read his message to Jonathan; without any questions, Jonathan on his own or any of the praise singers around him wouldn't have wisdom or knewledge to come up with this simple concept in a million years.
No disrespect.

Former Military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida is hale and hearty
Former Military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida is hale and hearty, his Chief of Staff, retired Col. Ibrahim Bui, said in Minna yesterday.
Reacting to rumours suggesting that the general is dead, Biu said that ``it is not true the rumours making the rounds about the health condition of my principal in certain quarters.

``I can categorically tell you that I have just spoken to the former military president in person and he is hale and hearty.’’
The aide said the rumours were part of the usual Nigerians’ attitude about any renowned public figure who took ill and received treatment abroad.
He assured the public, especially well-wishers of the former leader, that there was no cause for alarm.
Bui asked them to dismiss such rumours as ``ugly and baseless’’.

The chief of staff also distanced his boss from the destruction of some property by protesters on Wednesday in Minna, saying ``the general’s former campaign office was not affected by the destruction by protesters on Wednesday.
``The general’s campaign office for the 2011 elections is located in Bosso before his eventual withdrawal and I was in charge of that office.
``The property in question was used by the state governor as building for his campaign organisation for the 2011 gubernatorial election and not Gen. Ibrahim Babangida to put the record straight.’’

It will be recalled that the former president’s health condition has been a subject of speculation since he was treated in Germany for an undisclosed illness last year.
UN Rights chief urges Nigeria’s leaders to end violence
The UN human rights chief  yesterday urged bold efforts by Nigeria’s political and religious leaders to end sectarian violence in the country.

``It is essential that the country’s leadership, and especially its Muslim and Christian leaders, join forces to unequivocally condemn all forms of violence, including retaliation, and encourage their followers to identify and help arrest all those involved in killings and other acts of violence that have been taking place,’’  High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay said.

She urged the country’s leaders ``to speak with one voice, and act resolutely to stop an already highly tensed situation from spiraling out of control,’’ adding that the religious tolerance that had been a central tenet of the nation was being threatened.
``Everybody will be the loser if Boko Haram succeeds in its aim and efforts to sow discord between Muslims and
Christians, or pit Northerners against Southerners.

``The fact that people are already leaving some areas where they are in a minority, out of fear of attacks by the majority, shows just how dangerous this is becoming for the country as a whole.
``Anyone inciting violence or hatred must be held accountable, no matter who they are,’’  she said.
Pillay also said that it was vital for security forces to respect human rights, and avoid excessive use of force, when conducting operations so as not to stoke further tensions and resentment.

The Rights leader noted that members of Boko Haram and other groups, ``if judged to have committed widespread
or systematic attacks against the civilian population on the grounds of religion or ethnicity could be found guilty of
crimes against humanity.’’

According to her, deliberate acts leading to population ``cleansing’’ on the grounds of religion or ethnicity would also amount to a crime against humanity.
The High Commissioner expressed concern about the recent loss of lives during protests over the removal of fuel subsidies, and urged the authorities to carry out transparent, independent, impartial and thorough investigations into the events.

``The Government of Nigeria has a duty to ensure that all its security personnel avoid use of excessive force and investigate whether or not all necessary precautions were taken before members of the security forces resorted to the use of live ammunition.
``At this critical juncture, the authorities at all levels need to earn the respect and support of the general public by scrupulously observing human rights, and showing they too are accountable for any excesses,’’ Pillay said

Politics / Re: MILITARY IS COMING IN; BEGINING OF REVOLUTION by BigB11(m): 8:10am On Jan 15, 2012
It is obvious that revolution needs to happen in Nigeria, but the Nigerians of today mostly don't have the balls to start or to complete a successful revolution. Therefore, at this point, the only solution is for military to take over.
There is no other better moment for military to bring back guns than now. The premise is solid and makes sense.

Politicians are too greedy, too retarded to have an effective solution to get rid of Boko Haram or to move this country forward.
A military team with brilliant conditions will solve all our problems in Nigeria.
A civilian revolution may lead to civil war, but military revolution will simply bring the change we deserve.

This is the time, we have nothing to lose. They will get my 100% support only:
If they are here to take over to simply waste all corrupt politicians or lock them up for a very long time.
If they are here temporary to stabilize things in the country and implement a reliable election process.
If they are here to revise and lay an effective foundation that will enforce our weak constitutions.
Politics / Re: FG, Labour Move Towards Compromise by BigB11(m): 7:48pm On Jan 12, 2012
Guys, instead of wasting your time on this dude (beaf), why not just let him be whatever he wants, while you stay focus on watching the outcome of the protest.
This is just the beginning. Nigerians are getting smarter by every second. A baby must craw before he or she walks. What is on ground is way too big and serious to come over here to entertain this dolt.
Politics / Re: FG, Labour Move Towards Compromise by BigB11(m): 7:31pm On Jan 12, 2012
What is on ground is more than just fuel subsidy.
Nigerians must continue with the protest until all governors on bail for the past 4 years are brought back to the court of law, the salaries of the top government officials are revised, government spending in general is reduced drastically and president Jonathan steps aside and allow a real leader, a competent leader, a focused leader and a real man to take control of this country from here,
Anything else will be business as usual and a wasted effort.

Big Shame On Those That Voted For Goodluck; YES INDEED.
@ Topic, I completely agree with you.
And this is why folks like me refuse to have any beef with Jonathan, cos he did not put himself there. Hence, I find nothing wrong with the dude. But the pin heads that got him there can die and go straight to hell. What a bunch of hopeless f00ls, and the biggest problem this country is up against.
How can you vote for an empty sack?
And the sad part of the whole show is, many of these same knuckle heads are now out there crying like a bunch of duped prost1tutes. What exactly were you expecting to come out of an empty sack? Bunch of lunatics!

In order to have a strong focused leader, we must first have sensible or prudent followers. But Nigerians mostly happen to be the most senseless (bullish) group of people on the face of the planet; they are the bedrock of their anguish.
You put him there, now deal with the consequence; and FYI, this is just the beginning, many more to come.

How long exactly is it going to take Nigerians to get it right?
I'm very upset with Nigerians and absolutely not with PRESIDENT Jonathan.

I still very much believe that if a committed military group doesn't take over asap, the country is in real trouble.
The premise for military to take over can not be more appropriate than what is on ground today in Nigeria.
