It is amusing how people just get extremely high on pulling others down and dragging this country backward.

Dele Momodu is a writer, a successful writer as a matter of fact. I believe the man has the right to write on anything, whether to praise people or to castigate people. I truly do not see anything wrong in what he's doing; it is part of his duties.

I guess, folks would have been happier if he (Dele) focuses on writing negatively about fellow Nigerians. People crave for negative vibe, they usually get very sick when things are going well for others. Another typical reasons why some folks can not prosper through out their miserable life-cycle.

Instead of trying to debase Dele Momodu's accomplishment or style of writing, could you try and see his latest work as a motivational tool that is being used to send positive message to Nigeria and to the rest of the world that success is a choice?

We need to spend more time loving and supporting one another and stop this hating epidemic that continues to kill Nigerian societies.

The problem with you is that you think politics everywhere else operates like the kind you prefer; 0% conviction and 100% calculation.

Why i suggested Edwards is simply because he is passive. He isnt a natural leader. Obama and Hillary both cannot be under anyone's shadow which a VP slot is all about. Edwards can be humble enough as we've seen in the debates. Except Obama loses out in the nomination process, there is no mathematical chance that both He(Obama) and Hillary can be on the same ticket.

You have a point, but when it comes to winning election, your focus is not on compatibility, your focus should be on winning more votes.
Therefore, selecting a running mate that will attract more votes should be your main priority; you have more time later on to worry about compatibility issues.

Just keep in mind that once you become the number 1 man; folks will find a way to be compatible with you (they will discover strategies to clearly understand your broken English), Trust me!

What is the big deal?

After sending Hillary back to her husband in NY, OBAMA must be ready to face the republicans. The only thing the republicans are counting or hanging  on is the national security. They feel that OBAMA is clearly weak in this department and it is a perfect tool to bring him back to reality (and I think this is feasible).
The only solution to this set-back will be to pick up a popular/ likable white VP with enormous experience in all levels.
I'm starting to think that Al Gore might not be a bad choice, just in-case things don't workout with Hillary.

Even though it could have been an automatic touch down, but Al Gore remains very quiet through out this debate/ election. I think the man is not yet finished, he has a surprise for Americans.

I will not be shocked to see a combo of Obama and Al Gore as a running mate being revealed very very soon.
Just keep in Mind that at this point Mr. Gore has nothing to prove , but will be very happy to see the end of the republican.

Two Nigerian suspects plead guilty in $1.2m US fraud case

Two Nigerians have pleaded guilty to charges of making false promises to pay millions of dollars, including money from an estate and a lottery, to some people in the United States of America.
A statement posted on the website of the US. Department of Justice, on Friday, said the two Nigerians - Nnamdi Chizuba Anisiobi and Kesandu Egwuonwu - conspired with a Senegalese, Anthony Friday Ehis, to defraud US. victims of over $1.2 million. The statement quoted Assistant Attorney-General Alice Fisher of the DOJ’s Criminal Division and Attorney Benton Campbell of the Eastern District of New York as saying that the accused persons pleaded guilty before US. Magistrate Judge Ramon Reyes Jr. at the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, New York.

The defendants were arrested in Amsterdam by Dutch law enforcement agents on February 21, 2006 after their victims had been identified in the US. Dutch authorities had earlier notified the US Postal Inspection Service, which opened a separate probe, resulting in the arrest and extradition of the accused persons to the United States.

Anisiobi pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, eight counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud. Ehis pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and five counts of wire fraud; while Egwuonwu pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, three counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud. Another Nigerian, Lenn Nwokeafor, reportedly fled to Nigeria and was subsequently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on July 27, 2006, based on a US arrest warrant. He is being held by the EFCC pending his extradition to the US.

According to the indictment and an earlier filed complaint, the defendants allegedly sent spam e-mails to thousands of potential victims, in which they falsely claimed to control millions of dollars located abroad. Attempting to conceal their identities, the defendants used a variety of aliases, phone numbers and email addresses. The accused persons sent emails purporting to be from an individual suffering from terminal throat cancer. They claimed that the cancer patient needed about $55m.

Anisiobi allegedly telephoned the fraudsters’ victims, disguising his voice to give the impression that he was suffering from throat cancer. After conning the victims, the defendants allegedly asked them to wire-transfer payment for a variety of advance fees.

The maximum penalty for mail and wire fraud in the US. is 20 years in prison while a conspiracy charge carries a maximum penalty of five years.

The name: Sunday Gabriel Ehindero is still fresh in the memory of Nigerians. At least he left office as the Inspector-General of Police in less than one year now. It was he that headed the police Nigerians believe INEC and PDP used to terrorize and intimidate Nigerians in the rigging that characterized the 2007 elections as the worst in the political history of the nation.

A little after he left office, there was a scam to his name over N21m caught in the hands of the head of the bursary unit of the Nigeria Police in Abuja. The money which also included hard currencies generated serious controversy as the man caught with the money is known to be Ehindero’s kinsman and was put in the position by Ehindero.

Reports later linked the former police chief to whatever brought the money to the office or where it was being taken to. The media was awash with details of what happened to police money under Ehindero while a stock of his choice properties in Lagos, Akure and Abuja allegedly acquired during his tenure as IG featured and graced the pages of newspapers.

During the days of this rage against the man whose days as IG witnessed the arrest, trial and jailing of the man he succeeded, Tafa Balogun, Ehindero kept mum. But last week he finally broke his silence and made a very important statement about his days in office.
“I did much for the Nigeria Police, and most of all, I brought the police closer to God”. That is Ehindero’s verdict in response to the myriad of questions Nigerians ask about his stewardship. Moreover, he is ready to absolve the police of any complicity in the disgraceful 2007 elections rigging.
Now Ehindero is talking, and he talks tough. If you see this chief cop anyway, you may not dare blame him for not doing anything right while in office. You would rather blame yourself for whatever Ehindero did improperly. He feels good and adamant about whatever you may complain he never did right while in Louis Edet House as head.

I gave what you paid for
Ehindero described his tenure as the nation’s number one cop as most fulfilling. Speaking with Spectacular Encounter, in Ise Ekiti, at a function, he disclosed that he gave his best to his calling and described whatever the shortcomings identified during his tenure as institutional lapses. ‘A nation gets the police force it can pay for. So whatever happened in my days as the IG in the Nigeria Police is what the nation paid for”.

You know, according to William Shakespeare this world is a stage, where everyone plays his own part. All men are merely players. You play your own part and allow others to play their own part. I have no regret. Generations to come will vindicate me.
Police work is never finished. It is a continuous exercise, generation, yet unborn will still have the police force. So, the more we have police force that is very equipped, the better for the nation. And I say again, nation gets the Police Force it can pay for.

I brought police closer to God
Unlike retired IGs before him, Ehindero would not identify his achievements in a better equipped police force, or in bringing criminals to their knees. His achievement is attitudinal and spiritual:
He therefore boasts that his major mark in the police as the former head is that he brought the force and the crime fighters therein closer to God.

“When I was there, first of all I brought God, closer to the policemen. I established the chaplains in the Nigerian Police and they are there for everybody to see. I brought integrity. Never mind what is happening in the Police service. Whatever is happening is the price one has to pay for serving the nation. When you serve in the position that I served, you must hurt some people and pay the price. And that is what has happened.

On Police reforms, he said: “We played our own part, in our own time, to make the Nigeria Police a better one. The Police duty is to maintain law and order and the Police Committee is looking into the Police Force in all its ramifications in relation to the reform and wherewithal of its reform . I’m sure a good job will be done on this.

Never rigged elections
“Have you heard in any of the tribunals where they mentioned that the Police collaborated in rigging the elections”? That was Ehindero’s question in answer to Spectacular Encounter question on the role the police under him played, which Nigerians have assessed as below expectation.
“The duty of the police during the elections was to provide security and that was what we did. It is the police duty to provide conducive environment in which election should take place, and that was what we did. The days are gone when police would partake in rigging elections.

Bright days for police
I’m sure the future of the Police in this country is very bright. I have no doubt in my mind In the first place you will find that part of the reforms done during my time have come to fruition. There’s an enhanced police force now.

Every minute in the police force, you’re busy. You have no time of your own. Now, my blood pressure has gone down after leaving service. Thanks to God. It’s only the amazing grace of God that sustained me. Without the amazing grace of God, you can’t cope with the problems.

Facts:

During OBJ and his house boy (Ribadu) era, corruption was reduced by only 1.8%
After OBJ's house boy (Ribadu) was sent to school, corruption in Nigeria has been reduced by 3.5%; which in my book is still not effective and efficient enough.
