Phones › Re: How Can I Block My Mum's Sim From Borrowing Airtime? by BigDawsNet: 9:55am On Mar 21, 2022
Cakkie:
Happy Sunday, Nairalanders.

Pls pardon any typos.

For the past 6 months now, my junior sister has developed this bad habit of always using my mums phone to borrow outrageous amount of airtime — sometimes, #1k to 2k. And whenever you ask her she would always lie without blinking an eyelid. At the moment, I still have about 1k left to clear. Before then, I had already planned to buy her a phone to at least keep her company, but I don't know if I should go on with the plan or abort it.

Furthermore, she has also formed the habit of giving out my mums number wherever she goes, and my mum is always complaining that most of the contacts in her phone were not saved by her. I don't know if it's because she has access to the phone cos there's no way my mum can keep the phone in the house without her seeing or touching it.

Most at times, some unknown numbers do call my mum and whenever they hear her voice, they will immediately cut the call. Even my aunt has tried to caution her, but she will just pretend like she has stopped it, but after a day or two, the calls would start rolling in again. I'm tired of scolding and shouting at her. Infact, it seems like the more I'm trying to caution her, it is the more she gets courageous to continue doing it. This girl is about turning 15.

So I ask, pls is there a code I can press to stop her line from borrowing airtime — at least, till further notice?

Your inputs will be appreciated.

Lalasticlala, Mynd44. Help me get this to FP pls.

But don't give potential immigrants the wrong expectations it can be very depressing when they finally get here.
Truth is millionaires are few (even amongst the native born )and in fact worldwide its only the top 5% to 10% of the whole population become millionaires. The vast majority of Americans ,Brits ,Germans ,Australians ,Japanese have never had $1m in their accounts or even in terms of net wealth of assets such as cars, houses and liquid money.

Yes, I understood that.

Is it that the environment doesn't encourage people to own businesses?
Starting a business in a western country shows you are very fit financially... So i believe if you pump some good funds into the buisness...it will yield very good profit..

What I meant is that.. Hustling on Blue collar job, menial job... you can never become a millionaire... You will only work, make some money... Pay bills and continue to follow the system.... Sometimes you may need to even apply for credit card...

It is rare. You don’t know because you are not tall or with big feet. Even when they see their size, they get exploited because they are usually desperate. Worse is, they don’t even get many options. They just show them anything and expect them to take it at exorbitant rates.

For ladies, dress size above size 14 is a struggle.
Shoe size 41 and above is a struggle.

For guys, shoes above size 45. Bad as e bad, 46.

Get a passport
Your friend doesn't sound like a family member..so you may have to focus on how you can convince the interviewer you will return after your visit...

Because as it is now ..you seems to be planning on relocation... When the consular sens that! You may likely not be considered...

Right now don't stress urself about job availability in the US. we hav multiple...the question is! Are you qualify to get a visa??

Get your invite letter stating they will take care of you when you arrive

You need to prove home ties...

US don't really fancy bank statement but make sure you print one incase they need them...

Goodluck

Exactly. It was this same way in the 80s. It was what engineered Nigeria to start doing 419. Buhari was the one behind how Nigeria started doing fraud, it was only after he was ousted when it became too much people then starting blaming IBB who inherited the problems caused. Though Buhari caused the financial hardship and famine. He isn't destined for leadership
So let say the indomitable generation dint have idea about all this...
I don't understand why the adults decide to vote for someone they once knew was a disaster?

I belive this is most serious.

Forget domestic obedience.

You cannot even beat a dog talk less of your wife and children shocked shocked
It's not even because we are Africans

A white man can never claim to stand on his wife and claim "man of the house"..

They consider husband and wife here as partner... Both work to support the house...

You wife can literally sent you packing if you misbehave...

Beating dog and animal generally is a serious offence...

Bad weather

I don't believe in Racisms..it depends how you manage yourself... 97% of my friends are whites

You will pay taxes for the rest of your life

Loneliness may set in at some point

No paperwork? you will suffer small

As man.. That African man of the house mentalitydoesn't exist here

You will not really become a millionaire..but you will leave comfortably

You will miss your family... In my own case..I'm not bothered..na only my elder bro dey naija...d rest with ma parent they here

Food is expensive here... So if you the type that love African food...you will hav to pay extra to enjoy it

Nairalanders... I greet una!
Please, I need experienced advice on this.
I have the intention of travelling Abroad to study Nursing and at the same time, upgrade my family's standard of living.

I'm 31 (will be 32 in October), married with two kids.

My questions now are these...:
1. "Which country(s) would you suggest amongst U.K, U.S.A and Canada?
2. Would I be allowed to apply with my family? (Especially my kids. They are ages 5 and 2)

Please , I look forward to your response.
All are good choice

US is 50/50
Canada 50/50
UK point based...meet all requirements and you will be flying Soon

You can definitely apply with wifey and kids...
You can go for studies while your wife get a full time work permit...
