Text: Jeremiah 1:4-5
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations

Romans 8:29-30
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

There is nobody in the agenda and account of God that does not have the glory of God attached to his life. God is a fantastic creator and He created what He created for the glory of His name. Before your conception took place, He knew you before you came forth out of the womb of your mother. Even though people saw you on the day of your birth, they had no idea of what God created you to be.

Before you were even designed by God, He already had a destiny awaiting you. God is the designer of human life. Every form of productivity you see in human being is as a result of God’s handiwork. What you don’t know about yourself is in details in the hands of the Almighty God and He is the only one that can give you access into it. Once He grants you the freedom to enter into your destiny, you’ll perform and shine excellently well. However, if you don’t ask Him, you’ll walk through life like a blind person even with your eyes open.

To predestine as written in Romans 8:29 is explained thus – Before you appeared as complete human being, God designed your life not as a beautiful lady or handsome man but as a human being with solution to the problems of life. What makes you beautiful or handsome is the value you deliver to human life. Some people are beautifully facially but are ugly by their actions and character.

The beauty of humanity is to make the human society peaceful, comfortable and joyful. When your life does not bring comfortability and peace to the human society, it’s better you are referred to as an animal. Destiny is what you were created to discharge. When God created human being, He had created everything we would need before He created us. However, God created diverse human beings with different specialization in order to maximize the entire things He created. That is why we continue to see different innovations by different people in different fields of life.

Genesis 4:20-22
20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. 22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.12

It is your responsibility to bring out what God created inside of you.

The kind of the odour your body emits signifies the type of demon that is resident in you. Sometimes when you pray aggressively and get back home, you’ll observe a swarm of flies gathered on your window. This is the demon spirit of magog which has been invoked by someone to render your life to nothingness. This spirit also makes people hate you such that no good thing comes to you at all.

You didn’t create yourself before you were formed in your mother’s belly, God knew you. You need to go to God to ask the purpose of His creating you. Your head cannot fathom what God has created you to be. Many people are just looking for someone to dip his hands into their lives to remove their problems. They are not desirous of information that will bring about a change in their lives. This is not the way out of your problems. You must know God, have a relationship with Him and be willing to abide by His commandment every day.

2nd Peter 1:5
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge

Pride will never allow you to amount to anything in life no matter the amount of bible information you carry in your head. You must therefore humble yourself to receive instructions from God at any point in time coupled with the willingness to carry all of them out to the latter.

Any genuine child of God who desires to pray through must not argue with his pastor or with his/her colleagues in prayer. This is because you don’t know everything. When we talk about destiny, it is a complete package of what makes your life accomplished. It is not beauty or prettiness that makes up marriage. I have seen ugly ladies getting married to great and mighty men and living their marital lives in peace and harmony while pretty ladies are finding it difficult to get married or are changing husbands from time to time. Money is not what keeps marriage neither does beauty keep it either.

Pray the following prayer points for deliverance from destiny manipulators.

PRAYER
Shout the name of Jesus once, God of fire/7x, every power of re-creator that is established because of me, let the power catch fire now.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 9 (You don’t pray to God half-heartedly, you must pay maximum attention to your prayers to God. You should not allow your phone to interrupt your conversation with God).

Shout the name of Jesus once, God of fire/7x, visit that powerhouse that they are using to restructure my destiny – whether the powerhouse is under the water, inside a rock, a human, an animal or anywhere it is located. God of fire, enter that place and destroy the powerhouse.

Shout the name of Jesus loud, hand of fire/7x, every ancestral pot that covered my glory, hand of fire break it into pieces now.

Cry out the name of Jesus once, wherever my glory is suspended, hand of fire, bring it out.

Lord, empower my destiny so that strangers will not eat my sweat.

You can’t defeat the devil through grammar. It is the word of God that you know and do that equips you enough to fight him.

Theme: The Heartbeat of The Almighty God
There is no amount of wealth you gather in this world, if you have no treasure stored up in heaven, you may make heaven but you’ll be in heaven naked throughout without any mansion to live in. The mansion in heaven is meant for those who labour for the kingdom i.e. the kingdom servants who labour here with their lives for the kingdom eternal.

There are varieties of crowns – some are filled with stars while some are void with no star. Some even go through the kingdom but don’t wear crown at the end. It is a personal choice to determine which variety of crown you will wear in eternity. Whatever you are going through, make sure you encourage yourself. If Lazarus the beggar who ate crumbs from the rich man’s table is presently resting in the bosom of Abraham, no matter what it is you are going through, persevere and endure because the joy in eternity is awaiting you.

This generation has allowed itself to be deceived. Why? Because this generation wants to please the flesh and thus gravitate towards anything that gives it pleasure. The flesh is completely antagonistic to the Spirit.

Text: John 15:14-16

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Your salvation is as a result of someone else’ labour. If you are truly converted, your repentance is the fruit of a preacher or anyone spending time on his/her knees praying that God saves your soul.

The condition attached to answered prayers:

1. Ye have not chosen me – God has chosen you yet you must live within the abode of His will.
2. Living a fruitful life – This type of fruit is not anything material be it riches, wealth, cars, money, etc.

God knows how to break the backbone of the strongest giant and defeat him through the little David. You must be productive. A fruitless life is an abomination to the kingdom of God. Don’t allow your fruitfulness to be one-sided. Some people are only seeking the hands of God and not the heart of God. The heartbeat of God is to be conformed to His image. This was God’s first investment in man to be shaped in him. However, this was lost in the garden as the woman worshipped the flesh having seen that the fruit was good, ate it and thereby lost the Shekinah glory and ensuring she gave it to her husband.

If you don’t develop spiritually, you will sentimentally lose all of heaven’s investment in your marriage. Samson played sentiment and lost everything God invested in him. All throughout history, stories abound of great men who on the platform of emotional sentiment for women and their tantrums threw away the great things God had purposed to establish through them.

Material success is one thing; its sustainability is only possible by spiritually empowerment. When you move closer to God, you develop your relationship with Him and then conform to His image.

Romans 8:28-30
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

You can never conform to the image of God without being transformed from your evil inherited image (nature).

There is no man or woman in the kingdom of God that was created to take the back seat when it comes to greatness in life. However, there must be a substantial acquisition of some certain information that will guarantee you the greatness that will lead to your glorification. When you are not glorified, can you conquer those who are against you?

2nd Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.3 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.4 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

You can be in the church and not be in Christ. If I want to get into a house and if I don’t have the key to that house, I will not be able to gain access into that house.

The fact that you go to church everyday does not and will not make you a Christian. A Christian is not given birth to; you become a Christian. Even if you are born on the altar of the church, still that does not make you a Christian. There are lots of criminals and armed robbers behind the pulpit. Eli had two kids; Hophni and Phinehas who were corrupt kids and who did not grow after the order of the standard of the Levitical Priesthood. Thus, they lost the divine agenda for their lives and the God-bestowed and revered position He placed them.

In every generation where the word of God cannot be followed consistently, such generation will experience massive backsliding. The madness of the celebrations of Valentine Day, Christmas Day and Easter are grave examples of this backsliding – nowhere is it recorded in the Bible that these festive days are to be observed or are they God-ordained festivities.

After you now in Christ, there are things you need to know:
1. All things are now of God meaning your life is no longer yours. People in the church no longer take the word of God as their role model but Hollywood, Nollywood, and Bollywood stars are now their role models. People who are genuinely born again know that everything they are and have is no longer theirs but God’s.

Whatever you want to do to your fellow human being, consider how it would feel like if it is done to you. Some people whilst giving out gifts to some people only give out what they have used and has become useless. They now dispose it by giving it to others that are less privileged. These so-called gifts now create problems for the people they give it to. Do you still think you are a Christian with this attitude of yours?

You may be a reigning king today and be a slave tomorrow. Times and season does not belong to you. God promotes or demotes anyone He desires at His own time. Remember the king of Babylon who thought he was the greatest and was demoted to the animal kingdom eating grasses like an animal for 7 seasons until his senses returned to him. Fear God who did this!

If you are born again, know it that you are born again for the best. Let the seed of this new transformation in you grow. If it doesn’t grow, you can never be conformed to God’s own image and if you care not conformed to God’s image, His power and glorification cannot be made manifest in your life.

You can make a new start now. A new start is better than not taking any positive decision at all. God is the determinant of whatever happens both here and hereinafter. Whatever irrational decision you are hereby taking without recourse to God’s unlimited power and ability simply implies you are limiting His ability in your life.

Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The world we are living in as it is growing will require only those who are conformed to the image of God to be able to live in it successfully and gallantly without being perturbed even when bullets and arrows are flying right and left.

If you claim you love God, how is your attitude towards fellow human beings? Does it portray love? You can’t love a child whose parents you hate; it’s not possible because that kind of love will not be balanced. It will be a hypocritical and deceitful type of love.

Every sinner is scornful and despises the word of God (Psalm 1:1). To get to heaven, the standard of God will never be lowered for you no matter the generation you are from. As worse and evil Noah’s generation was, it was only Noah and his wife coupled with his sons whom he had also trained to follow in his footsteps who also married one wife each that God found faithful and therefore saved from His destruction of the then world.

Many children are currently doing what is wrong in the presence of their parents yet such parents don’t say anything neither do they discipline them. Due to this, many children will go to hell and blame their parents afterward in hell. Reserve your energy to run your race. Keep your eyes wide open on your wards and you’ll harvest the fruits in the nearest future.

Many parents say, “I don’t want my children to go through what I went through.” Stop that, you are only pampering them. Your parents didn’t make you suffer, they were only training you. Until you take time to discipline them and instill the fear of God in them, they will not become what God has destined them to be neither will they be fruitful for you at the latter end of your life.

Many ladies because of just a cardboard certificate will say, “I can’t lose my certificate. Is it not for one year only? I will put on the trousers for my youth service.” The question I want to ask you is this, “If the rapture takes place during your youth service, will you now because of that so-called certificate miss heaven?”

Jeremiah 1:4-5
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.1

You don’t treat God like technological devices. He is not the age-mate of your grandfather. Why then do you come before God and tell lies? You even say, “I swear to God.” Don’t you know the grave atrocity you commit continually? Before heaven and earth was created, God already knew you. Why then should you be pretending? You continually scheme evil. The question I am asking you is this, “Who created the brain with which you are scheming evil?”

God has created our lives for the best but we are very much ignorant of this knowledge hence we act the way we do. Your birth is not an accident but it originated from God even if your parents were prepared or not. God’s purpose kingdom is a purposeful kingdom, a progress oriented kingdom. It is not a kingdom that subjects any of its citizens to ridicule. Your lack of knowledge about God’s foreknowledge of you and His predestination about you will continue to keep you in ignorance and darkness. If you continue to willingly live in ignorance and deliberately do things that make God angry, He will never show you His purpose for your life.

2. Conformity to the image of God
God placed you in the class of special people. The eagle does not eat rubbish, you call yourself a spiritual eagle – why then do you go about eating rubbish?

Exodus 19:5
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

To be a special person unto God, you must i) obey Him completely and ii) keep His words in your earth so that you will not sin against Him.

I Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:3 4 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Before you can be conformed to God’s image, you must be called out of darkness, out of the sinful world.

Romans 8:29

To be conformed implies to be transformed to God’s image. Whenever you hear a preacher tell you no one can be holy, we can only try. Carry your bible and run away from that place because such preacher is denying you of your Godly inheritance. If you are not conformed to the image of God, the covenant blessings of God can never be your portion.

When the husband chooses to obey God, it blesses the wife and vice versa. Some women complain about their husbands. I tell them, “You conform to the image of God and see how God will transform his life.” When you are conformed to the image of God, all the kingdom of darkness bows before you.

3. Non-conformity to the world
Romans 8:30
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

It is when you choose to live a non-conformity life with the world that the glory of God will be manifest in your life.

Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It pains God when lambs are flocking with goats – this makes Him very unhappy.

Make a change today and allow God bring to pass what He has created your life to be.

Deuteronomy 32:28-31
28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. 29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! 30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? 31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Joshua 1:3,5
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Psalm 62:11
11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

In Deuteronomy above, God was speaking through Moses that the people of Israel were already a nation. What covenant brought them together and bound them as a nation? What covenant promised them the reward of the sustenance of the millions of people that will be their offshoot?

Why are they void of counsel? The reason is because they stayed too long in a strange land and thus the custom and tradition of the strange land become ingrained in them. Though they left the strange land yet the mindset of the strange land remained firmly rooted in them. This made them cry for a return to the strange land whenever they encountered difficulties in the journey to the Promised Land.

It is good you do a diligent research of your background. If you hear that your parents were terrors or were negatively feared (whether they are alive and not) and God in His mercy made you become born again, if you don’t take time to deal with your root, you will end up just like your parents.

When God had used Moses to declare the future of the Israelites, Deuteronomy 32:48 says, “48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, 49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: 50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people: 51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.19 52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.”

Didn’t God give testimony about Moses as been the meekest of all the people and one whom He spoke mouth to mouth? Why then did God now tell Moses that “Look, Moses, I salute your courage and your 40 years of sacrifice for the people but the Promised Land you laboured for, you will not get there. You will only see it.” It wasn’t because Moses was too old or that God was unable to fulfill His promise. No, it was because something sprang up in Moses which denied him of getting access into the Promised Land.

In verse 50 above, God said that Moses also had to die and be gathered unto his people just as his brother died at Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. Why did Aaron die like that? He had the weakness of pleasing people – he chose to be a prophet unto people rather than unto God.

God had a covenant with Abraham. Even though the covenant was there, there was also a weak point in the life of Abraham, the father of the Israelites. When God told Abraham to leave his kindred, family and nation, did He tell him to take his father and Lot along? No. But due to emotional sentiments, he took them along. When God tells you to do something, you have to obey completely without attaching any form of sentiment. Ability to say no without feeling inferior will help you greatly in your life journey.

Many people are in prison for offences they never committed because they were so sentimentally attached to helping people out that they never knew it could turn against them. Some have been nabbed for carrying banned substances such as narcotics simply because they helped someone carry a luggage at the airport not knowing that such luggage contained such illegal drugs.

You say you misbehave because it’s your father or mother’s nature. What then is the cross for? The cross is a parting point between you and anything that will not allow you move in accordance with the will of God must give way and be completely separated from you.

Psalm 45:10
10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

Check your father or mother’s family very well, what trend do you notice? Once you take time to carefully analyze such trend, you’ll then be able to discover the negative evil trend. It is then your responsibility to put it to a stop in your life else (even with your so-called devotion and commitment to God), you’ll find yourself in hell just as your father and mother.

Deuteronomy 32:29
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

Every action that starts subtly and unnoticed has a culminating point. Christianity is about practicality. Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” Why did Jesus pronounce 27 curses on the religious people? It’s because they have access the truth, they hear the truth but refuse to heed the truth and do whatever is on their minds. The same can be said of so many so-called Christians in this generation of ours who only hear the truth, know it but refuse to change their lives to align with the truth. There is a curse of God upon them already.

Appreciating the truth is not enough. Many people applaud when they hear a pastor preaching the truth yet they don’t allow the truth they hear to effect a positive change in their lives. That is why the church is impotent today because there are many who are seated in the church applauding the truth but refuse to allow the truth purge them of their wayward and barbaric way of life.

Ephesians 6:10, 12
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The people Apostle Paul wrote this letter were not sinners or pagans but blood washed saints telling them that if any generation wants to have good successors, it needs to take heed of his warning.

Paul said, “Be strong in the Lord.” Many people are strong in the church. You are a sinner yet you preach, you are just like a dumper who dumps the message into the lives of others but goes home empty. When you die and open your eyes in the afterlife, you will find yourself at the gate of hell. Why? Because all the while you were on earth, you were only practicing religion and were never converted. You can call the devil any name but you can’t call him a fool. He has determined that every human being will follow him to hell. Why are you then not wise when God is using someone to open your eyes to the secrets, satanic technology and devices that the devil is using against you?

Before the devil launches his attack into your life and ultimately fulfills his plan, he will take time to study your life and find out your weak points before he begins to launch his weapons against you. Be strong in the Lord, not be strong in your pastor or be strong in your prophet. Why? Because, every student of the bible knows that “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” is what God commands. David, the apostles, the prophets in the scriptures are not perfect examples – Jesus is the PERFECT EXAMPLE whom we are mandated to look up to.

God has raised kingdom champions whom the world is supposed to look up to. However, to many of us, Hollywood, Nollywood and Bollywood actors and actresses are our role models. To some of us, footballers are our role models. We don’t longer read our bibles, we abandon our bibles. We don’t have biblical models we follow anymore but look up to these Nollywood stars as our role model in dressing, choice of marriage, attitude, and career.

You can’t be strong in the Lord when you have not experienced the cross. When Jesus had been beaten and ordered to carry His cross, there was a time a man named Simon was told to help Jesus carry his cross yet he couldn’t. Why? The cross wasn’t meant for him. You’ve got to carry your own cross. Jesus was the one empowered carry his own cross.

Religion has never been able to save a single soul. When you visit the cross, the cross looks into your heart to see if you truly want to drop your load of sin. Once the cross sees your genuineness, it will take away your load of sin and then give you your own cross to carry and fills your heart with joy unfathomable and incomparable. You then have to publicly identify with the cross. This will make the people who love you before hate you. Your husband who loves you before will now hate you because you now refuse to paint your face or wear trousers.

Whoever is not the rib from which you are created no matter how nice he is, you will regret it. I have seen a couple who began to fight on the first night together after marriage. Why? The covenants in the life of both of them repel each other. If you both marry with curses in your life and you are joined together on the church altar, the curses are blended together and that’s the end.

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Don’t rely on your own strength. When a servant of God tells you the truth, you flare up saying, “I have my life to live. I have my own eyes with which I can see and choose.” Truth be told, no one can arrest you. Problems are however like seeds; by the time it germinates and produces fruits, you’ll begin to run from pillar to post looking for what is not missing. Meanwhile, God is telling you to go to the cross so that He can make the load easy for you to carry.

Now answer me, when Jesus was carrying His cross, was he smiling with anyone or excited to watch a football match? There is no cross bearer that will dance to the tune of the world. The dance of the world is misleading, enticing, attracting but it’s alluring and a dance of trap in order to capture your destiny. Samson danced to his sight, where did he end up his life? He got the most beautiful woman on earth yet he experienced the worst pain on earth. Could you imagine the pain of having red hot iron pierce his eyes while he was still alive? As if this humiliation was not enough, he was made to dance before their god in their temple.

What God is warning you of is to save you from the pain of tomorrow; not even the lake of fire now. When you are negotiating your life with the devil, it will culminate in a certain pain tomorrow. When the devil has succeeded in taking you from the cross, he will then show you his true colour. Whatever sacrifice you are supposed to have paid, you will then pay it with the arrears also.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.3

High places – traditional rulers, political leaders, those who are in charge of certain geographical locations.

If as a child of God, you are pursued with lesser powers (charms, witchcraft, etc) and they are not able to succeed as you are untouchable and dangerous

Arrows The Enemies Use In Attacking Your Life
Investigating Arrows: The arrow enters through dreams, food or intake, or sex. That is why your wife and you must be one. If you are hot and your wife is cold or vice versa, you are living between two kingdoms and all the children under that roof are not safe. If the husband is the one that is hot, the arrow will be shot to investigate your blood gene from the hairs on your head to the sole of feet investigating where there is greater fire and lesser fire.

By the time the arrow is done surveying your system, it will go out and go back to the demonic central networking machine to deliver the report which will show the graph of your history. The person in charge of your case will then begin to see where sins are still hidden in your life.

Hebrews 12:1

If you put on a cloth for so long a time, it will later become heavy as your sweat and blood have become part of the cloth. Let us lay aside every weight. Weight means anything that enters the spiritual scale and pulls us down.

For example, if it is discovered that there’s still exaggeration in your life, (there’s no one who exaggerates that will not tell lies), the arrow of exaggeration will be shot into your life. A matter you are supposed to talk about briefly, you exaggerate. Once you exaggerate, you sin. Once this sin is in your life, witches will shoot arrows because of the legal ground the arrow of exaggeration has created.

Many people fast and fast without any meaningful breakthrough. Why? The enemies have studied you very well and located your weak point and use this against you. When any arrow shot into your life now has firmly established in your life, it will send signal to the spiritual realm requesting for certain demons to come and work with it.

If some people undergo deliverance and have breakthrough financially and materially, they begin to capitalize on the financial breakthrough they’ve acquired and think that is the ultimate and begin to build their lives around it neglecting their spiritual life.

Your require the power of brokenness – when this takes place in your life, your become submissive to any instruction. The simplest prayer may not make meaning to you but because you are completely broken, you obey the minutest instruction. It is now your obedience that is working for you. Anyone who is broken i.e. sanctified is tagged as dangerous by the devil because the fire of God is burning in your day and night.

Until you create a legal-free life, the devil will continue to have sway in your life.

PRAYER
- Lord, with Your hand of fire, arrest me and break me down. Whatever will not allow your power come upon my life, use Your hand of fire to sweep it out of my life.

- Place your right hand on your head and shout at the top of voice; Arrows of spiritual demotion circulating my system, catch fire now.

- With your right hand still on your head, shout the name of Jesus once, broom of fire, every satanic arrow that has been fired into my system and is busy circulating my system to investigate me in order to wreck havoc in my life, broom of fire, uproot them and consume them.

- Raise up your two hands and shout blood of Jesus/42x at the top of your voice. Then begin to command; every entry point in my life through which the enemy has succeeded in shooting arrows into my life, blood of Jesus, close the entry points now.

What you see with your eyes affects your mind and what affects your mind affects your actions. For every stage of life that anyone gets to, such person has battles waiting for him and there are specific weapons that are meant to fight such battles. Even the baby in the womb is faced with so much problems that at times doctors cannot diagnose the particular ailment that is afflicting the child while in the womb.

If you beat satan, he looks for your faults. Majority of people are miracle seekers like butterflies flying from one nectar to the other. You need to build a foundation and have a base where you can be solidly established else you and the miracles you received will be blown away by the devil.

2nd Samuel 22:29-31
For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. 30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

The word troop is not a civilian word, it’s a military term. In the above verse, the writer acknowledges the fact that it is God that empowered him to run through a troop. The devil is always creating barrier in the form of raising troops against the plan of God for your life which is meant to culminate in giving God glory.

Whatever God has hand in; the devil will multiply war against such.

If you regularly eat in the dream, you will be subjected to typhoid and diabetes as your blood will be injected with these diseases by demonic agents. It is not all mosquitoes that you see that are mosquitoes. Some are human beings like you who turn into those tiny insects with the aim of injecting you with weariness so that you will find it difficult to stand up and pray.

Every man or woman who carries the power of God is unstoppable. They cannot be stopped by sickness or even death.

If you see anyone within the church telling you to go for alternatives outside God because you are going through one problem, you should shout, “Get thee behind me, satan.” For you to get some things in life, you have to sacrifice before you get it. The value of what you want will therefore determine the level of your sacrifice.

As a family, both husband and wife have to decide what they want. Many women give birth to children and hand them over to nannies. 75% of nannies are possessed with demonic spirits and afflict the children they are given with their evil spirits. What kind of children are you therefore breeding?

Many of us have attached the better part of our lives to the apron of our parents and as such we have wasted those better portion of our lives. When you grow up and say you are educated yet still have to wait upon your parents before you take your life decisions, then why did you go to school in the first place?

2nd Samuel 22:30-31
David didn’t see his father or any of his siblings before he achieved the above feat. He stood and fought the war but had his backup from God. No wonder he said, “I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth.”

If you decide to have God as your backup, every natural opposition fizzles out, disappears and bows. If you are a genuine servant of God, your battle is triple because the battle you deliver people from will come back to fight you intensely.

David said “by my God have I leaped over a wall.” He was able to leap over the way by the hand of God not minding how high that wall was. Life is a battlefield. For you to be able to overcome, you need the empowerment of God.

The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

There are lots of unbelieving believers in church who say they believe in God. However, no matter how much they sweat in church, you’ll still find them in the homes of herbalists, witchdoctors and refined herbalists (white garment church prophets) who will recommend bathing by the riverside, using candles to pray or carrying sacrifices to a junction in order to alleviate their problems.

They who know their God shall be strong. God has spoken once and twice have I heard that POWER belongs to God. If power belongs to God and He can do all things, does He now tell you to go for alternative means? Think about this deeply.

If the bags of some people who come to church are searched, you’ll find cowries there yet they say they come to church to pray to God. Some women use waist beads not knowing that such waist beads are demonic magnets that attract demons to them whenever they wear them.

The evil wind blowing in the church is even more terrible that the one blowing out there in the world.

If you want to go through life and overcome, you need to consider the following:
1. Study the temperament and the temperature of the church you attend.
2. You need to know the spiritual texture of that church. A wise farmer does not plant cassava where he is supposed to plant maize. If you take your valuable destiny to the wrong place, they will help you to compound your problems.
3. Carefully and gradually investigate the spiritual background of the man standing before you. Every ministry or commission is like a bridge every man will climb to their Promised Land. Some so-called servants of God are make-shift bridges. They cannot bear heavy duty vehicles. Why? They do not have the spiritual capacity to bear such heavy duty vehicles. Most of the prayer houses or pastors you go to do not have faith strong enough to bear your destiny to the Promised Land. Rather than look for power, many of us are busy looking for position. We hold on to position so dear that we abandon our destiny with its glory unattended to. It is when you have power that you can fit into a position.

For some of us, the destiny we brought into this world is greater and stronger than the pastors under whom we worship. They do not have the spiritual capacity to take our destiny to the Promised Land.

The word of God is tested, confirmed and approved. God spoke and they are established, no power on heaven or in earth can change it. You say “Forever O Lord, thy word is settled” yet you don’t abide by this settled word. If you don’t abide by the settled word of God, how do you expect to overcome the battles of the world?

The devil doesn’t respect the cloth you wear or the latest car ride. The only person whom the devil is afraid of is a man whose life is in compliance with the word of God and knows how to apply it.

God is an awesome God. Now think of it, when you carry that God anywhere you go, guess what will happen. If you start a business and someone brings demonic money to purchase goods from you, such person will meet his/her waterloo.

If the man behind the altar is an adulterer, your backup altar will never be effective. When you are sowing seed on a strange altar, you will never experience harvest. Many people are collecting good money as salary but where they pay their tithes has been their major obstacle. The men of God they pay their tithes to continue to give them fake visions which come to pass in their lives. Why? Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”

It is your responsibility to seek spiritual insight as per the place where you worship and the servant of God who is your pastor.

God help you as you abide by the word of God and become empowered thereby.

PRAYER
- God come into my life and let strangers walk out of me.
- Place your right hand on your chest and raise the left hand up. Shout; every power that emptied my life from January to June, catch fire and jump out.
- Place your right hand on your chest and raise the left hand up. Shout God of fire/7x, every covenant of wasters that my parents have dedicated me to, God of fire; uproot the covenant from my life. If they are alive, return the covenant unto them.
- Shout hand of fire, hand of power/3x, the hand of fire and hand of power that anybody can stop, that herbs and roots cannot stop, that familiar spirit cannot stop, come into my life.

You need to stop making commitments that you can’t or won’t keep.

Making False Promises About Your Time
As part of your day, you probably say many unrealistic things about your time. It is common to say things that we don’t really mean. You may promise to do something in an unrealistic timeframe. Or deliver something before it is possible. Or get back to someone while you are still busy.

Why do you make productivity promises that you don’t keep?
Perhaps, you had good intentions but underestimated your time availability. Or maybe you didn’t really intend to follow-thru. Or you weren’t sure how long a task would take.

Whatever the case, you are creating false expectations with those around you. They will expect you will do what you said, only to be let down.

“Don’t make promises about your time that you can’t or won’t keep.”

Your time management reputation is based on being realistic about your time, tasks, and priorities. When you aren’t, you will continue to make promises that you can’t keep.

Here are 5 Time Promises that you won’t keep:

I’ll only be a minute – How many minutes? This is a common cop-out that usually leads to long periods of lack of follow-up. Better to set an appointment at a later time than have an indefinite follow-up expectation.

Give me a second… – It probably took you more than a second to even make that statement. From the outset you are being unrealistic about your time. Again, try to give a truer estimate about how long until you will be available. Maybe it is 10, 20, or 30 minutes.

I’ll have it to you today – Before you make a promise like this, ask yourself, “Are you really going to deliver before you go home today?” If not, then don’t make that promise.

It will be done before the due date – If you don’t take deadlines seriously, then you will find yourself late with deliverables and projects.

I’ll call you back later – At what time? This is another common mis-step. Of course, later comes the obligatory, “I forgot to call you.” Set a reminder or alarm to ensure that you keep promises like this. Add it to your return call list, or even your todo list if the call can be made a later date.

Don’t Make (Time) Promises You Can’t Keep

Be realistic about your time and commitments.

Don’t make silly or bad time promises that you know you can’t or won’t keep.

By setting realistic and truthful expectations with others, you’ll find yourself making less apologies, having less stress, and getting the important tasks done.

INTRODUCTION
God has clearly marked the warning signs in the bible. He wants us to keep away from such area marked ‘danger’ if we want to enjoy His blessings, abundant peace and joy. When we are walking with God in His light, there should be no traces of darkness in our lives. God loves us so much that He offers us everything in heaven and earth even making us joint-heirs with Christ. However, some individuals still choose to voluntarily walk out from under the atonement i.e. the blood of Jesus through rebellion and idolatry.

REBELLION
To rebel is to refuse allegiance, loyal support or to resist the authority of someone or some authority over you. God is our authority. To rebel against Him is to turn our back on that which He offers; His protection, promises, blessings and love.

There are overwhelming blessings which come when we submit to God’s absolute control and there are curses which come when we resist or rebel against Him.

IDOLATRY
Idolatry is excessive attachment to someone or something; a form of admiration which borders on adoration. Idolatry is not just only worshipping a god or image other than God, it is lusting after our own desires and pleasures instead of doing what God wants us to do for Him.

Satan desires men to worship him and that is the primary reason for idolatry, occultism and satanism. Satan told Jesus to fall down and worship him and he will give Him the glories of this world. Those who seek gifts from the devil like hidden powers, secret knowledge, wealth and riches, security and protection, success, promotion and progress or children will not receive these things for free. Once you receive anything from the devil, you become his worshipper and automatically enter into an evil covenant with him.

God hates idolatry. God abhors any other god either one of gold, silver, bronze or wood, an idol in the sea or on the land, in the tree, in your bedroom, any armlet and waistband besides Him. Carving an angel (in heaven) or human being (on earth) or mermaid (in the sea) for the purpose of worship must not be made; they must not be served at oil with food, oil or gifts.

SOME OF THE THINGS GOD ABHORS
1. Ancestral worship.
2. Use of incense or candles to worship – the incense does not attract Jesus rather it attracts demons and evil spirits.
3. Special prayer garments.
4. Using the Bible to seek out a thief – this is occultism.
5. Reading horoscope (reading your star).
6. Going to palm readers to know your future.
7. Making use of pentagon.
8. Worshiping Mary.
9. Natural signs of interpreting people’s future.
10. The use of stick to invoke demons and satan.
11. Attending festivals of any kind (idol, new yam festival, mermaid, masquerade etc) in the town, village or city. In such festivals, more children disappear and more girls are raped.
12. Observing Valentine’s day – It has been discovered on Valentine’s day that thousands if not millions of condoms are used.
13. Secret Society – Amorc, Ogboni, witchcraft, etc
14. Special baths in the river (some people are taken by prophets to be bathed by the river side).
15. Praying in the grave yard.
16. Evil demonic rings either visible or invisible.

Avoid putting something else in place of God.

Since you gave your life to Christ, have you surrendered all those satanic materials? If you don’t want to be a floating Christian, you need to break and destroy all those things you have engaged yourself in.

We must carry some power of God to stop some certain things. There are things we must bring to a stop in the realm of the spirit e.g. the power of sin in the secondary schools, universities, all the evil happening all over the nation, etc.

DEVELOPING A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
If you as a person don’t have any relationship with God, your life is empty of Christ. It means you have not encountered Him (Jesus) though you may be regular in the church, pay your tithes, take Holy Communion, etc. For people who only go to church and observe religious activities but do not have a relationship with Christ, when problems come, they consult fetish powers to solve their problems.

When you can no longer pray or see the Moses God has placed before you, you will begin to go back to your old vomit. Christians are warned to flee idolatry. When you begin to lust after evil things and rebel against God and His Word, you are heading for destruction. Never you put something else before God. How can you be calling upon the Lord and yet fail to do the things He commands you to do?

BEWARE OF LETHARGY
Beware of loss of a sense of the importance of spiritual things. There are many believers on the way of lethargy. Lethargy is a sense of lack of importance, a drowsy dullness to God, a lack of spiritual energy and sluggishness in spiritual activities.

When there is no excitement and zeal for the things of God such that you are not interested in weekly meetings but rather you prefer to sleep, rest, watch television, entertain visitors, attend town or village meetings, go to the market, to cook, stay back at home watching home videos, soap operas and football matches, it means you have been infected by spiritual lethargy.

Never you put family, business, wife, husband, children and even your employment first and then put God at the second position. It means you have an idol in your life. Let’s not neglect our church meetings as some people do. Let us cleave to, trust in and rely on God. (Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”).

Questioning God’s ways in your mind and worshiping your own opinions are all wrong. Don’t become an observer who stands aloof saying, “I don’t want to become involved, I want to be neutral.” There is no neutral ground; you are either pulling one way or the other. We should be like Paul and the other disciples who followed Jesus and were willing to lay down their lives for God.

PUNISHMENT FOR REBELLION AND IDOLATRY
Saul rebelled against the Word of God through Samuel. Immediately, he was rejected by God. The same Saul disguised himself and consulted the witch under the cover of darkness and ultimately lost his life. If you don’t want God to reject, abandon and disinherit you, you need to repent now before it is too late.

Satan is a deceiver, liar and destroyer. Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD (Isaiah 52:11).

BIBLE STUDY – TUESDAY 28TH JUNE 2016

PREFACE:
It is catastrophic to go to the house of God without writing anything down. You should not go to church to gather head knowledge rather you should go there in order to receive instruction that is to be entrenched in your heart. It is the amount of the word of God in your heart that determines your victory.

Many people don’t know what repentance is but only see it as religion taught them. They only possess head knowledge about repentance based on what they are told and not what they know. What you know gives you confidence to confront the devil and empowers you to be able to liaise with God.

A classical example is King Hezekiah whom Prophet Isaiah delivered a message of death to as sent by God in respect of his sickness. Hezekiah’s personal relationship with God and his knowledge about God empowered him to turn around the message of death God sent to him through Prophet Isaiah.

When you become genuinely and soundly born again, you will do everything you do within the confines of the kingdom of God and not outside it. Your choice of friends, partner in marriage, business partners and any form of relationship or association will be within the jurisdiction of the kingdom of God.

If you break the law of nature, you will die before your time! So also, if you break spiritual laws, you will reap the consequences. The followers of the devil don’t rebel against him. The reason is because they know that the consequence of such rebellion is death and that there’s no mercy in the kingdom of satan. It is God that is very patient with you and will sometimes come to you, pleading with you and showing you the consequences of the action you are about taking. It is when He sees that your mind is made up that He now leaves you with the decision you have made.

Many people don’t like the sound teaching of the word of God to be preached to them. They cringe at such teachings. The teaching of the truth is not to cow, scare or cage you but to show you the guaranteed freedom that Jesus has provided for you. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32).

TOPIC: WHAT REPENTANCE ENTAILS
Text: Matthew 3:8 “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.”

If I claim I have repented, what does it entail?

INTRODUCTION
Every of your thoughts are with a motive. God knows your thoughts, not your thoughts alone but also the motive behind those thoughts. If everything you do goes outside the purpose for which God created you, you have made yourself an enemy of God.

What John the Baptist said in the above verse (Matthew 3: correlates with what Jesus said in Matthew 7:20 which is, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” If I say I am born again, there are fruits that will differentiate me from every other person. Whatever you have knowledge about and are convinced about it, you carry it about with confidence.

It baffles me when preachers say we should soft pedal on the issue of sin so that people will not feel guilty. It means if I am a policeman, I should not use my gun when I see a thief but should rather pamper him. What will that make me? An accomplice of the thief! It is therefore erroneous to say that the issue of sin should be soft pedaled and not hammered thoroughly.

Nobody has ever changed as a result of pampering, rather pampering will make such person become rotten. It’s better you shoot the bullet of the truth at that person without holding anything back. Your hate for the truth cannot change the truth. The more you continue to hate the truth, the more you continue to be injured because once you begin to remember it, it continues to pierce and grieve your heart. The patience of God has a limit with every person. When the door of God’s patience closes, you will have yourself to blame in eternity as there will be no room for repentance anymore.


Matthew 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance

If you say you have repented, let the fruit reflect as a student, in your workplace and anywhere you find yourself. If you say you are born again, let the fruit of your repentance reflect. The devil will threaten the truth you want to obey. Damn the consequences! The devil will not want you to restitute, simply damn the consequences and then you will experience the peace and joy of God than ever before.

Your repentance must be backed up with certain truths. It is what will give credibility to your repentance. Your repentance is inward but it is accorded with certain actions because every tree has its fruits.

Acts 17:30-31
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

God commands you to right the wrong. The times of your ignorance when you did not know they were wrong have been overlooked by God. Repentance is an active word; a word of action and when it truly becomes evident, there are some decisions you will take without thinking about the repercussions. Even if the repercussion will claim your life, you know that you are going to make heaven.

Hosea 14:2
Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Many people praise the Lord but their praise is an abomination to God because the “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: …” (Proverbs 15: Anyone who allows self image to rise up in his heart will not allow his knees to bow before the word of God and obey it accordingly.

I don’t deceive people; I give them the word of God raw so that in case they don’t accept it and the consequences arise in the future, they will remember that a particular man warned them about their actions.

Every genuine servant of God hears God every day. Any secretary in any organization sees and converses with the boss everyday so also a genuine servant of God whom God calls is a P.A. (Personal Assistant) to God. There are some servants of God who just love the job and get into it but are not called by God.

What Repentance Is not?
- It is not feeling guilty.
- It is not being nice or being a good person.

Repentance is;
- Being sorry to God for your sins.
- Being truthful.
- Hating your sin: If you truly repent, you will hate your sin. There’s no one who after going to the toilet uses his hand to stir the faeces to find out the nutrients that are contained therein. Some even close the toilet seat immediately as they don’t even want to set their eyes on what just came out from their body.

WHAT REPENTANCE ENTAILS
1. Complete and outright u-turn away from sin: Zechariah 1:4 “Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.” Repentance is a total boycott of your former life: Ephesians 5:5-6 “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”

Relationship entails a complete breakup from your past life. I have come across genuine Christians whom when they became born again, they resigned their appointments in the brewery where they worked not minding the amount of money they were being paid.

2. A person who is born again will separate from the pleasure and the aggrandizement of the world. James 4:4 “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

John 15:18-19
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

1st John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. The world that the bible is talking about here is the system of the world, sometimes called the tradition or custom of the world.

Repentance is the platform on which God will begin to reveal the demonic traditional veil that has blindfolded your ancestors including yourself, and the closer you move to God, the more He will remove these demonic veils layer by layer.

3. Repentance entails turning from yourself: Many people are the rulers of their own lives but when problems come, they want God to intervene. If you know yourself and think that you are more than able to run your own life, why then do you want to depend on God when things go wrong? Luke 14:26 “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Repentance makes you see yourself as God’s property and not your own.

Romans 12:1
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Is it possible you offer a sacrifice to an idol and then go back to the next day to claim back a part of it? No! If not, why then do you say you repent and yet there is a part of your life you say God is not supposed to be concerned about e.g. your manner of dressing, your ungodly relationship, your manner of communication, etc. If you say you have repented, your life is no longer your own. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Once you repent, you become an ambassador of Christ and you represent Him anywhere. If you say you have repented, you have turned your back to the devil and now in God’s kingdom. Would you now say you want to borrow something from the devil’s kingdom to do God’s work? No! Let it be known to you that God will not borrow anything from the kingdom of darkness to do His work. You therefore need to examine the originality of the so-called repentance you carry about. Is it genuine or fake?

If you say Christ is alive in you, you will not dance to the tune of your personal opinion rather you will submit to Christ to lead you in all you do.

4. There will be an outright and total turning from the devil: Many people say they have repented yet they are still being dominated by the spirit of witchcraft, familiar spirit, water spirit, etc. They know it but they don’t want to drop it. If you say you repent, you will drop every property of the devil. 99% of the people inside the church will not hear the sound of the trumpet when rapture occurs. This is because they are still in possession of demonic properties which they hold so dear to their hearts.

Repentance is the only gateway into God’s kingdom. It is the key that grants you access to the gifts and the abundance of God’s kingdom. The bible says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33).

Many people are only church goers but they are not in God’s kingdom. When the trumpet sounds, they go nowhere.

Acts 26:18
“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

Repentance makes you resign your membership from satanism. Some of us know what our parents dedicated us to yet we don’t want to drop it as we think it is our only means of protection. Many have used this so-called protection to damage the lives of others. Do you think you will make heaven with all these in your life without completely dropping them off you?

Make no delay to repent. Tonight may be the final night. Every prediction of the bible have all come to pass. What remains is for the trumpet to sound. You will be risking your life if you decide to delay your repentance. No matter the ridicule you face here on earth, it will matter no more when you make heaven as your sorrow will be wiped away. You might be childless here on earth, without a spouse, poor, wretched, etc. yet when the trumpet sounds and you are raptured, the joy of making heaven will be more than enough to erase all your earthly shame and disgrace.

Spending donkey years in the church does not make you born again. Many people just go to church because of the power of God and the miracles they stand to get from God and not because they want to make heaven.

If you truly repent, your life is no longer yours so also is your money. In fact, nothing you have is yours anymore. If you also want to give anything to anybody, you will not allow that thing to be a problem to that person. Many give out their old problematic cars to others but don’t put it in good and working condition before they give it out. Such gifts now become a thorn in the flesh of whom they gave it to. This is not the bible’s standard. Don’t make the gifts you give another person become a problem to him or her.

Check up your heart. What kind of heart do you have, a penitent heart or a hardened heart?

5. Repentance is complete turning to God: Zechariah 1:3 “Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.


6. Repentance is turning to right living: You turn away from the wrong to the right thing. Romans 6:13 “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”

Conclusion
Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

“I love deadlines,” English author Douglas Adams once wrote. “I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”

We’ve all had the experience of wanting to get a project done but putting it off for later. Sometimes we wait because we just don’t care enough about the project, but other times we care a lot – and still end up doing something else. I, for one, end up cleaning my house when I have a lot of papers to grade, even though I know I need to grade them.

So why do we procrastinate? Are we built to operate this way at some times? Or is there something wrong with the way we’re approaching work?

These questions are central to my research on goal pursuit, which could offer some clues from neuroscience about why we procrastinate – and how to overcome this tendency.
To do, or not to do

It all starts with a simple choice between working now on a given project and doing anything else: working on a different project, doing something fun or doing nothing at all.

The decision to work on something is driven by how much we value accomplishing the project in that moment – what psychologists call its subjective value. And procrastination, in psychological terms, is what happens when the value of doing something else outweighs the value of working now.

This way of thinking suggests a simple trick to defeat procrastination: find a way to boost the subjective value of working now, relative to the value of other things. You could increase the value of the project, decrease the value of the distraction, or some combination of the two.

For example, instead of cleaning my house, I might try to focus on why grading is personally important to me. Or I could think about how unpleasant cleaning can actually be – especially when sharing a house with a toddler. It’s simple advice, but adhering to this strategy can be quite difficult, mainly because there are so many forces that diminish the value of working in the present.

The distant deadline
People are not entirely rational in the way they value things. For example, a dollar bill is worth exactly the same today as it is a week from now, but its subjective value – roughly how good it would feel to own a dollar – depends on other factors besides its face value, such as when we receive it. The tendency for people to devalue money and other goods based on time is called delay discounting. For example, one study showed that, on average, receiving $100 three months from now is worth the same to people as receiving $83 right now. People would rather lose $17 than wait a few months to get a larger reward.

Other factors also influence subjective value, such as how much money someone has recently gained or lost. The key point is that there is not a perfect match between objective value and subjective value. Delay discounting is a factor in procrastination because the completion of the project happens in the future. Getting something done is a delayed reward, so its value in the present is reduced: the further away the deadline is, the less attractive it seems to work on the project right now.

Studies have repeatedly shown that the tendency to procrastinate closely follows economic models of delay discounting. Furthermore, people who characterize themselves as procrastinators show an exaggerated effect. They discount the value of getting something done ahead of time even more than other people. One way to increase the value of completing a task is to make the finish line seem closer. For example, vividly imagining a future reward reduces delay discounting.


No work is ‘effortless’
Not only can completing a project be devalued because it happens in the future, but working on a project can also be unattractive due to the simple fact that work takes effort. New research supports the idea that mental effort is intrinsically costly; for this reason, people generally choose to work on an easier task rather than a harder task. Furthermore, there are greater subjective costs for work that feels harder (though these costs can be offset by experience with the task at hand).

This leads to the interesting prediction that people would procrastinate more the harder they expect the work to be. That’s because the more effort a task requires, the more someone stands to gain by putting the same amount of effort into something else (a phenomenon economists call opportunity costs). Opportunity costs make working on something that seems hard feels like a loss. Sure enough, a group of studies shows that people procrastinate more on unpleasant tasks. These results suggest that reducing the pain of working on a project, for example by breaking it down into more familiar and manageable pieces, would be an effective way to reduce procrastination.


Your work, your identity
When we write that procrastination is a side effect of the way we value things, it frames task completion as a product of motivation, rather than ability. In other words, you can be really good at something, whether it’s cooking a gourmet meal or writing a story, but if you don’t possess the motivation, or sense of importance, to complete the task, it’ll likely be put off.

It was for this reason that the writer Robert Hanks, in a recent essay for the London Review of Books, described procrastination as “a failure of appetites.” The source of this “appetite” can be a bit tricky. But one could argue that, like our (real) appetite for food, it’s something that’s closely intertwined with our daily lives, our culture and our sense of who we are.

So how does one increase the subjective value of a project? A powerful way – one that my graduate students and I have written about in detail – is to connect the project to your self-concept. Our hypothesis is that projects seen as important to a person’s self-concept will hold more subjective value for that person.

It’s for this reason that Hanks also wrote that procrastination seems to stem from a failure to “identify sufficiently with your future self” – in other words, the self for whom the goal is most relevant. Because people are motivated to maintain a positive self-concept, goals connected closely to one’s sense of self or identity take on much more value. Connecting the project to more immediate sources of value, such as life goals or core values, can fill the deficit in subjective value that underlies procrastination.

Low self-esteem can be the root cause of some mental health problems and can cause a vicious circle. You feel bad about yourself, so you get depressed, which makes you feel even worse about yourself, so you get more depressed and it can be difficult to break that cycle. Positive thinking and boosting self-esteem will improve emotional wellbeing.

Self-esteem is how you think about yourself, the opinion you have of yourself. If you have low self-esteem, the thoughts you have about yourself tend to be negative and focus on what you think are your weaknesses. Having a low opinion of yourself can make you more prone to mental health problems such as eating disorders, depression or anxiety and phobias.

Self-esteem can just be down to your own temperament. However, negative experiences in childhood can contribute to feelings of low self-esteem. People who have been abused or neglected in their childhoods often have low self-esteem or young people who feel they have not matched up to their parents’ expectations. Other things that can affect someone’s self-esteem include bullying, trauma, poor physical health and social exclusion.

Having low self-esteem can affect work, personal relationships and your social life so it is important to tackle low self-esteem to boost positive thinking and positive mental wellbeing.
top tips TO BOOST SELF-ESTEEM

In order to change your beliefs, you have to understand your negative beliefs. Think about what your weaknesses are, when you started to feel like this; can you identify something that has happened that might have caused you to feel like this?

Once you have identified the negative beliefs, gather evidence to challenge this and write them down so you have a list as evidence when you are feeling down. For example, if you feel you are unattractive, note it down when you receive a compliment from someone that says you look pretty or they like your new haircut.

Positive thinking exercises – write down the things you like about yourself. Think about your best feature and write it down – I like my eyes, for example. Think about things you have achieved and add them to the list. Think about nice things you have done for other people, skills you have, talents that you or others have noticed and write all these positive things down. This is good to look back on when you are having a bad day or when you are nervous about something such as an exam.

Friends and family – look at the people you have around you on a regular basis and think about how they make you feel. If you are spending a lot of time with someone who makes you feel rubbish about yourself then spend a bit less time with them and spend more time with people who make you feel good about yourself.

Take up a positive hobby.

Set yourself an aim – maybe a sponsored walk for charity which will make you feel good about yourself.
