Business / Re: If You're Not Ready For Heartbreaks, Never Start Up A Business by Bigfellas(m): 6:42pm On Jan 31, 2019
You are very correct my brother. I have been keeping on for about 1 and half year in my business and it just keeps getting tough with each day. I started feeling chest pains since the beginning of my business. Sometimes I cry so hard in the middle of the night . Sometimes all roads seems like they are closed and you just feel like quitting altogether. business world is a tough world and indeed it is not for the faint hearted. I won't advice anyone not to start up a business but I want you to be sure of something, you are going to fail many times and go down to ground zero. Only God and persistence can get you back up. Some people get back up while some never will. It takes a lot of effort. That is why we all are not billionaires. Life is definitely going to ask for a bargain before you become successful . Be ready to fight hard with the realities of life. Business world is indeed a fight to finish . There is never a moment to relax cos time and realities can sweep you off your feet. God bless all the successful business owners out there. I hope and pray to become successful soon. May God help me.

An intelligent mind will know how to express one's self, besides intelligent people win spelling competition's, if you consider her intelligent like some people are saying, shouldn't she be able to participate in spelling bee
I don't see how different this girl is different from Mr spells, probably because this one went to school sha..its pretty easy to tell how smart someone could be by their English, it is also one of the easiest ways to appraise somebody you meeting for d first time..
Imagine this girl trying to write an essay and she is an English student...no excuses for me...she isn't intelligent at all...or maybe she loves arithmetics but guess what, even arithmetics require some use of English from time to time....

Lol... I think she is unintelligent also. but to me it is not just cos of her bad English. She could still be intelligent even with the bad grammer. I've seen such cases but for this particular lady, I believe say brain no dey for her. She won't have ridiculed herself online if she was intelligent enough to understand the fact that her English no be here . So I follow agree with you say she dumb.

Please if we going by the post of that corper making the rounds, then it is safe to say she isn't intelligent.
First of all,her official language is English, she went to school for 18 years or more and yet she still can't string a proper sentence together...
Secondly, how was her idea passed to her lecturers during exams??
Look, I have a few intelligent guys, way brilliant than me wey dey drop bomb steady when they talk or write simple grammar, but this chicks own is abysmal, its way too poor, look you can't be this poor in English and want people to cut you some slack, we need to get her off our borders...How did she graduate for goodness sake!??

Yes it is convenient to say that lady is not intelligent. I will accept that but she isn't intelligent not because of her poor use of English language but because an intelligent mind will prefer to stay silent when she/he knows what she/he is about to say makes no sense.
Agriculture / Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by Bigfellas(m): 1:27pm On Dec 18, 2018
Hello sir . I am interested in planting cucumber next year. I did a test run around June this year on a plot of land just to gain some experience . I planted directly to the soil. It was a ploughed land . I didn't stake it at all and used just one variety of insecticide which I can't remember the name. didn't apply fertiliser at all. I noticed some came out big while others are just small . I got 3bags at least although I did not measure it. Shared among friends and family. now I really want to give it a go this coming raining season so here are my questions

1.. which month is favorable to plant next?
2..In absence of manure, what could be used as replacement?
3.. Is it compulsory to apply fertiliser?
4.. do you have any idea of buyers around Ilaro, Ogun state cos that's where my farm is located.
5.. which is the best seed to plant.

I will be expecting your reply to this questions and other advice you can give. sent you a message on WhatsApp now. You can reply there or here. Thanks

Well we have all made some tough decisions at one stage or the other due to inexperience. I have always wanted to go into farming as a business so back to 2017, my friend informed me about how we can lease acres of land and plant cassava for a year and then sell it for profit.

I leased 10 acres and decided to give it a try. Then we faced the issues of labourers to work on the farm. We both got duped and I lost close to 1.5m within a year. I had no idea at all and we got used by the locals around. The good thing even though I lost the capital,I gained a lot of experience going forward and I was only able to make 200k from my investment. The good thing is I can start all over again, this time with a whole lot of experience. from all my calculations, I won't be spending more than 300k as expenses with the right hand working on my farm. I believe I will recover all my losses in a year or 2. Farming is really profitable only when you have got the experience. Don't just rush into it

The NPF is not protecting those they are suppose to protect... We all have one or two encounters with the Sars and I don't pray anyone go through such an ordeal. I don't even wish that to my enemy. The Authorities have to do something about it. The Sars operatives no longer go after robbers anymore but any young man who looks good and dresses well. All just to extort them and rip them off their money. They sometimes follow boiz to the Atm stand and force them to withdraw from their bank account. This is just too much and we can't keep silent on this forever. Something needs to be done #endsars

Agriculture / Re: The Major Garri Processing Machines With Prices by Bigfellas(m): 3:50pm On Nov 08, 2017
MAAF:
@ Op

I am into food processing also, and from my little experience food processing is aimed at maximising profit of the farmer. But in the process of installing a processing plant be it for crops or animal products you have to look for the cheapest yet most effective machines to allow you produce good quality end products.
Using Garri processing for example, how many people go to super markets to buy packaged and labelled Garri?? Even if people buy them , by the time you have sold 10 packs of 1 kg weight, I have sold up to 10 bags of 50kg bags to market women and cashed out and continue my cycle of processing.
Business is about turnover not about how pretty it sounds in the ear. Business is about maximising your profits by targeting your biggest buyers and channelling your goods to them.

I am talking from experience cos am into food processing myself and I am fully hands on in what I do. I meet my buyers one on one ,do market surveys based on demand and cost and produce accordingly otherwise I will run at a loss.

My processing plant has locally fabricated equipments which are cheap( thereby saving me money in the aspect of cost production) and they have not given me a single problem since I acquired them.

Considering the fact that most farmers are still at the subsistent level, I do not know how many people can afford hundreds of thousands to set up a common Garri Processing plant like you have quoted when they can walk into the market and assemble strong equipments at less than 3/4 of the price you have quoted. As we all know government loans are difficult to come by.

If you supply your equipments to the ' A ' team who can afford it, I guess you have to look for another medium to advertise your products as here on NL- agric section , most of us support our selves with realistic and affordable products that can help everybody grow, maximise profit and save unnecessary expenses.

From your comments you should be a bit more polite in addressing people who are airing their views about your strange prices, cos they have right to their opinion, sounding arrogant and demeaning wouldn't do your business any good. Learn to make your points in a reasonable manner and be courteous in doing it cos at the end of the day people will always decide what they want to buy regardless of how it is advertised.
The choice is theirs.

Thanks

okay...I know this is an old topic but I'm just reading for the first ... I will like to know more about the food processing. I'm into cassava farming. I'm new at it and my produce should br ready by middle of next year. I intend to sell the cassava being my first time but I want to go into full processing by the time I plant next. can I get more insights from you about the processing . Thank you. number is 07037121342
Culture / Re: Igbos That Cannot Speak Igbo Language by Bigfellas(m): 6:25pm On Sep 28, 2017
@romeo is very correct with the points he raised. although some find it offensive with the way he goes about it but then I think he is just been passionate about the topic and wants the poster to do something about it. I'm yoruba but I feel it is the duty of everyone to keep his or her identity and heritage. I will chip in this favorite quote . "IF A LANGUAGE DIES, SO DOES THE HUMAN SPIRIT. A PERSON WITHOUT A CULTURE WILL LOSE THEIR SELF RESPECT". I don't see this as an Igbo issue alone cos it affects almost all the tribes in Nigeria. Even the Hausas' are losing theirs to Arabic. We should never throw away our culture and language regardless of where we found ourself.

To be honest, I am not in support of the way the Authority is handling the situation.. If they actually want to Arrest Kanu, then the police should have been deployed and not the NA. This isn't a war zone like the northeast . This guy's are not Armed like Boko Haram . It is a civil unrest and only the Nigeria Police should have handled this. It's crazy to have deployed the army in this situation. And to Ipob, they don't need to go violent and harsh in passing down there message. I pray the families of the deceased have strength to bear their losses. We all need to voice out against this injustice. It is bad

Explorers:
9. Three guests check into a hotel room.

The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10.

Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25.

To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests.

On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally.

As the guests didn't know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep$2 for himself.

Each guest got $1 back: so now each guest only paid$9; bringing the total paid to $27.

The bellhop has $2.

And $27 + $2= $29 so, if the guests originally handed over $30,

what happened to the remaining $1?

Lalasticlala, Mynd44
... The guests all paid the sum of 9.3 usd not 9 dollars. when the clerk returned 5 dollars back, that means the 3 of them have 25dollars paid for the night.. 25÷3 = 8.3 ..... and later the bellhop returned 1 dollar back to each of them. 8.3 +1 = 9.3 . 9.3 usd is the total amount each of the guest paid. multiply 9.3 by 3 and you get 28 usd. 28 plus d 2 dollars with the bellhop gives us our 30 usd. hehehehe.. now you see the remaining 1 dollar we looking for has already been accounted for in the 25dollars with the clerk. so no money lost my brother... to modify my earlier submission . The guest all paid for the 1 dollar missing.

I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IN THE POLITICS OF THIS COUNTRY....... I DETEST ALMOST ALL OF OUR OLDER POLITICIANS AS THEY ARE ALL CROOKS AND THIEVES... I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE ALL CROSS-CARPETING. TO ME, IT IS A MEANS TO CONTINUE THEIR LOOTING AND EVIL AGENDAS. BUT WHAT I BELIEVE IS THAT THE LAW IS MEANT FOR EVERYONE. IF BY THE VIRTUE OF THE 1999 CONSTITUTION, THE SPEAKER IS TO VACATE HIS POSITION, THEN THE SAME SHOULD APPLY TO MIMIKO AND EVERY OTHER PERSON. PERSONALLY, TO ME, I THINK THE IG IS JUST PLAYING THE CARD OF HIS MASTER WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE RULING PARTY. HE HAS NOT LET THE JUDICIARY DO ITS WORK... THAT IS WRONG. ANYWAY JONATHAN WAS MY CHOICE IN THE 2011 ELECTION BUT HE HAS FAILED ME AND I NEED TO CORRECT MY MISTAKE. BUHARI WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MY CHOICE BUT THEN APC IS A PARTY THAT HAS PROVED TO ME WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF IN THE SOUTHWEST REGARDLESS OF WHICH CANDIDATE IS BROUGHT FORWARD.
