Some new changes to Canadian immigration rules. Scanned thru but yet to dissect the info.Sleep no gree. Only thing I've seen so far is that we now HV 3months to submit an application after ITA.
From what I read, I think there will be some changes in the crs score as from 19th of November. I don't fully understand it but there will be changes especially with points accrued from educational qualifications

I do not quite agree with your reason for advising him against adding a spouse. As the letter clearly states, it was not because he included a spouse that he failed to meet requirements. He failed to meet requirements because after adding a spouse his CRS no longer met the points for which he was sent an ITA.
So, the advise should be that the intended applicant should re calculate his crs with his spouse included. This would mean having her degree evaluated and her ielts done. If with the addition of a spouse and claiming points for her education and language test, his crs still meets the minimum crs for the draw in which he received an ITA, then he shouldn't have a problem. A letter of explanation clearly stating his change of marital status should suffice.
If he no longer meets the minimum crs after the addition of a spouse then he should decline the ITA.
yes vcole you are right. I looked at the situation. the lowest score is 475 and he had 475. adding a spouse will definitely not make him qualify. I also don't think he should decline the ITA. he might not get another one. I would suggest he goes ahead with the invitation. He can get his PR card and file for the spouse or let her get into the express entry too. My friend in question has since gotten back into the pool with his spouse and his new score is 425. i am not sure he can make any ITA again. maybe going through the route of filing might be a better option. MAYBE.

Please people let's help a brother that's in a fix

Hi All,
I need small clarification. My score is 475 and I received ITA in the last draw. I got these points as an unmarried. I am getting married next week and I am confused on how to proceed.

Option 1:
Should I continue my application as a single applicant and apply for dependent visa once my PR is issued? Is it still valid?

Option2:
Should I include my spouse's details before applying for the PR? In that case, does she needs to take IELTS and get her transcripts verified? This is not at all feasible in 2 months time.

Pls advise.
please just ignore your wife for now. a friend of mine got ita, got married and included his wife. His score dropped because of this and he didn't meet up with the old score. he was refused after 6 months and lost his money. don't try it. find attached the letter that was sent to him.

My advise is you bring her in some other way like student visa or something else. you will lose you ITA if you do it! DON'T DO IT!!

So sorry about this bigfido, after such a long wait. However, no hope is lost. Please in your next application, do a board resolution, it helps a lot especially for me. I didn't even know you were self-employed. Have somebody eg, your staff or wife introduce you on a letterhead as the founder and CEO of your company who intends to visit Canada and purpose. My wife does this most of the time, including the board resolution, for me. A sample had been posted earlier. You may also design your own. On personal asset and finance, I've never presented any landed property or survey documents to support my applications in any of the embassies I had applied to, for visas in the past. I'm not saying you shouldn't present one in your next application(pls do), just sharing my experience. I hope you submitted enough evidence of funds with your application...like a reasonable and well run bank account. What about invoices, bills of lading or Airway bills from your business partners overseas, Letter(s) of Authorisation as a distributor/representative from your manufacturers overseas(if you're into foreign business)? What about a salary account for yourself because you must have a salary account to show and to prove to the embassy that you're also a responsible and accountable business owner. I do transfer a reasonable amount from my corporate account to my saving account every month and tag it...SALARY FOR THE MONTH OF XYZ. After all it's my money. I may or may not exhaust it. Each year, I increase my salary and I'd ask my staff to do a letter of increment and document it for me. Whenever I'm renewing my visa, I'd include the letter in my documents. Kindly address all these in your next application. Try a paper route application as you said. It's got its advantages. If you forgot to submit a particular document in your paper application for instance, you could go to Anifowoshe in Lagos yourself (or send it via a courier to them if you're not resident in lagos) with a letter to back it up and hand it to the security at the gate who will help take it inside for you and acknowledged a copy of the letter you brought to back your documents. Landed property for instance can be voluminous, scanning and sending such online could be cumbersome at times. Mine is like an epistle together with my building plans' docs lol, even though I've never submitted one in the past. I often wonder how some applicants manage to upload such a heavy document one after the other. With paper application, you can add as many relevant documents as possible since that's what they want. Good luck next time.
Thanks man! i know all these things o.. i don't know why i didn't include the documents. i made my fears known about my application immediately i saw all my errors. will refire next year

Am sorry. It's painful. I learnt that pain from my inlaw. He works in a multinational company and felt it was enough. He also has a US Visa, 10 years UK visa and other extensive travel history. He was refused 4 times till I found out and explained that IRCC is not the same as Sheffield. They don't mess around with documentation. He repackaged and got the visa at the 5th try through paper route.

It's painful to be refused especially after 5 months of waiting. It is well my brother. Take heart.
Thanks man!

So I got refusal letter today after 161 days. The documents I didn't submit like I said came back to haunt me. Wish I knew about the forum before apply.

Reasons ticked are
1) personal assets and financial situation
2) purpose of visit
3) current employment status

I really don't know what made me not to attach those documents. It's painful.

I will type the letter for purpose of visit and submit my asset documents. This time of course has to be paper route.

For the employment status, asides from ticking the self employed route and the document I submitted, I was told I am supposed to write a letter on the company letterhead stating my role.

Anyways. Goodluck to those still waiting. Will let you guys know when I am ready to reapply

Bigfido, Jayfierce, I have a question;
Why would an embassy deny an applicant with good travel history on the basis of "No travel history"? I believe if an applicant would run away, he would have done that with the previous opportunities he had in his previous journeys. That statement sound somehow to me.
There are notes you can apply for your understand the reason for refusal

I am into construction and i am an architect. How i wan dey build house from cana? if i wan ja, with my travel history, you think say i for never run since? And i still get valid Yankee visa. E no hard na. I am just very deep into doing things properly and lawfully. Only reason i am doing express entry is for my first daughter. I born am for here! Mistake!! And my wife want's to relocate. She is tired. I have the highest degree for express entry in the house (masters) so it is only logical i run it.

Someone tipped me that they applied towards May 2016 ending and they got refused a few days back. They are definitely working on your application. Maybe they find it hard to verify some information.

Meanwhile my passport is on its way back. grin
Yea that might be the case. I submitted a huge statement of account including my trip to the US for birthing in March. So there are a lot of dollar transactions in there. I merged almost 4 accounts into one pdf file. The quality of the file wasn't so good because I had to reduce the resolution to fit 4.5mb. My travel history is good thou. Been to the US 5 times, UAE 4 times, Turkey 2ice, Germany, UK and Spain all in the past 2 years. I am guessing they are working on the probability visavis my statement of account. I had barely 200k in the account but I am a confident about travel history and monies moving through the account. The wait continues. Huge congrats on your visa! I tap into your favor
