This will be a long read but might be helpful particularly to those yet to take the IELTS. It’s my experience with mistakes I made, pointers here and there.


spelling. One answer was waitress, another length. For the waitress, I wasn’t sure if it had two ts or just one. For the length, I wasn’t sure if it was length or lenght, after I had spelt both and the wrong even looking correct at that point. I tried spelling strength as a pointer, still confused, I wasn’t sure of strength either so I eventually went with lenght. Then there was checklist, here I wasn’t sure if it’s a single word or compound or two words. To play safe, I figured check-list will be best. Naturally, all these spellings wouldn’t be a problem but under exam condition and considering at least 8 is needed in listening, my people, uhm.

length of the monster, I scanned through if I’d see length. Luckily, it was in the passage. I had written the wrong spelling in my listening! Turning back the answer sheet is prohibited but I managed to turn and correct my length.

This was exactly what happened to me.. I spelt length as lenght.. And photography as photograhy. It was during the reading part that I was able to see the correct spelling. I just thank God. And the Acacia wasn't so strange to be so I got that. I think you should contest the 6.5

I just got my IELTs result LRSW 8.5, 8.5, 8, 7 and I have started registering for express entry but it got to a point I was asked about the Language test result form or certificate number, does this refer to my candidate number or I have to wait til I get my cartificate for the British Council?

You have to wait. But I have gotten so much experience, I know how to get the test report number without the test report.. Lool.

For the dude that passed the ielts that is complaining bitterly, please be thankful to God.

I have written ielts 7 times. My journey started since 2015. My Wes has been ready since then, but because of age and ielts, I have been falling short. I wrote ielts and got moderate score. I didn't know what was required then, since then, it has been a battle for me. My last 3 scores were 8,7.5,7,6... 7.5,7.5,7.5,7... 7.5,8,7,7..after the 6th one in June, I swore I was done with this dream. I had sunk so much money into this. I have gone to dubai to write celpip, went to dubai again for new brunswick info session, spent money 2ice on SINP and all to no avail. I was frustrated and devastated. July, I told my spouse to let me try ielts one more time. Even thou she didn't want to see me hurt again, she let me have my way. As for her she was done. She wanted the dream closed and buried. I don't blame her. So I paid and decided to change venue, this time I went to Ibadan, meaning I was spending more again. Then something changed. I prayed a lot about it. For catholics amongst us, please pray the prayers for exams to St Joseph of Cupertino. I went into the hall, did my best and left. I couldn't even beat my chest about my performance. I have been humbled by Ielts. But I kept on praying. I am not going to fail the 7th time. In between that time, a stranger in Lere2017 on this platform came into my life. She needed something from me. I actually wasn't in the mood to talk to her (reply her pm) but I did. We got talking and I told her my story. She was touched and she also truly prayed for me seriously. She will send me messages almost everyday telling me how much I was in her prayers and letting me know all is well. Yesterday midnight was the most awkward time of my life.. From 12 am till 7 am this morning, I was refreshing ielts website to check my result. The fear and panic was too intense. When I didn't see anything, I decided to go to their office to pick up my result.. That drive was filled with swallowing stone like saliva. On the bridge, I decided to refresh it again.. My result was there. My soul left my body and my eyes became blurry. I didn't know what I was reading but I knew I was reading.. L-9, R-8,S-8,W-7

I felt water swell up in my eyes. I understood what it is to look for something within your grasp and yet not have it. I am still basking in this euphoria so I can't real explain my ordeals. So please if you have it on a platter of gold, don't come here to rub it in on people that are going through a lot of even have a slice of what you have. For me the journey starts soon. I now have 450 points. I pray we all get to the promise land. Thank you @lere2017 I appreciate you. That's the beauty of this thread. Goodluck to everyone. I believe either the USA passport or the Nigerian Passport can be submitted. I intend to submit the USA Passports because the kids will probably use that more for travelling that doesn't include Nigeria.

I don't think it really matters. The visa is not useful again once you land. You will start using your pr card to get into the country afterwards. I think Nigerian passport is better because you don't have to start explaining how you are a citizen of somewhere residing somewhere. My thoughts thou

What mumjgirls is trying to tell u is that you cannot use Ur pension funds as your main POF. The rule for POF states that the funds have to be liquid. Pension, properties and assets are not liquid funds so are not acceptable as POF.

Also note that a portion of pension funds can be liquidated by Nigerian pension law even before one reaches the statutory retirement age of 50. I for one accessed this fund and used it to shore up my POF when I needed to update my family size. All I did was to explain to CIC with a LOE d source of the extra funds and the purpose. So technically I'm using pension as POF, but it's the already liquidated part of it. You can also use Ur property but u must sell it first and be sure to prove to CIC how d funds came about.

However we have seen cases where some people use their pension as a kind of buffer for their POF and VOs were okay with this and have approved their application. These people have already met up to about 80-90% of the POF amount and used the pension to compensate for the remainder. The reason why CIC VOs accept this may not be far fetched from what I explained earlier. They have become aware that by our Nigerian pension act we can have access to 25% hardship claim and if by their calculation that is enough to cover whatever deficit you have from your liquid cash they will go ahead and approve your application.

I hope this clears your doubts and guides others having trouble with POF. D

Thank you very much. I understand this very well that you can only use up 25% of your RSA. I only became worried when she expressly said "no, you can't use it for pof".. As at when they switched from FSWP to express entry, a lot of Nigerians have been writing them telling them we can use 25% even thou no one asked them.. (Busy body)���. Now they are fully aware of the 25% ish. I just checked oanda this morning and I had a sudden heart attack. I have a family of 4 , I needed 5.7m as at yesterday, today, it is 6.7m. I don't even know what to say..

I'm a Newbie here and I must commend you guys on how you look out eachother.

I'm in a state of confusion and I'd like to hear your take on this.

My first evaluation was completed in December 2016. My elder brother in Canada did not receive the hard copy for it as I made use of his address. I mailed them several times to send a copy to him but they relented until sometime in either March or April that they sent a new one to him and to IRCC.
Now the thing is in my new report my name is ONIKAN, Vanessa rather than ONIKAN, Vanessa Bella which my documents and passport bear. I sent WES a mail to correct it but no response till date. The earlier report of December 2016 bears ONIKAN, Vanessa Bella but I dont have the hard copy. They both have the same application number but different dates. I know usually IRCC will not request for the original copy because they confirm it directly from WES but I am worried to use the first report as I have no hard copy.
I recently got an ITA and I'm now confused on which report to upload.
What do you all reckon? Which report is safer for me to use considering all I have said above?

Hi Vanessa. There is no need to panic. at no stage will IRCC ask you to submit the hard copy of your assessment. please go ahead and use the first one that has your names complete as it should be. I am sure all will be well. as a matter of fact, i don't know where the hard copy of my wife's assessment is. but i have the soft copy/ that's all i need to upload.

I think you need to find out which section you are lacking in. I had issues with questions 20-30. I had to device a means to scale through this. My advice is when you get to questions 20-30, please ignore the answers. Look at the questions, listening and make your own jotting of the answer. Most times, these answers are paraphrased. If you are waiting to hear the answer in the recording, you might get missing. At the end of the test, look through your jottings to match the answer options. That really helped me.. Questions 30-40 needs high level of concentration. Hopefully, you will get your required score in Jesus name.

Read the screen shot again pls, if u receive ita and before u submit apr, your age increases, your crs score will be recalculated for eligibility. And if unfortunately, ur new score now falls below the draw limit of ur draw, ur app is automatically refused. Only time this isn't applicable is only when you have submitted ur apr. so crs score at ita must = crs score at apr submission to be processed. Pls take out time and read d cic website thoroughly. U can google eligibility assessment a11.2

I think you are the one mistaking what you read. The rule says that your score should reduce based on the increase in age, the system (MEC) flags it as ineligible. it is now the duty of the officer to consider the public policy act to consider it eligible.

If her experience is as a Rxcist then evaluate only her B.pharm with PEBC, that gives same point as MSC, and you both should aim for a score of at least 8777 in LRSW in your ilets and you should be able to hit 470points and with that U can get an ITA.

Congrats. Since you got a letter on how to proceed, that's a great one. Also Sinp oid comes with pecks of applying for temporary work permit whilst your pr is being processed. I will advise you to go to the US if you have a visa to lodge your temporary work permit application.. Or Mexico. It's way faster from there rather than facing delay issues with AVO
