what we are saying is we don't want u to work for us, u guys are irrelevant, did u work for Buhari in 2015? did he not win? guy forget jor
we are irrelevant but we helped OBJ, yar ardua and GEJ to win. if u are a critical thinker u will know that yorubas can never win the presidency without the igbos and vice versa.
but the hausas can do it , they just need one of the appendages of either yoruba or igbo to win

igbos didnt contest in 1999 because they left the slot for the yorubas. we need a reciprocal or the south will suffer it. u people are just short term thinkers

Buhari has a cult-like following in the north. Anybody he tells the northerners to vote for, they will listen to him. But are you not ashamed of yourself that Igbos like you in PDP are treated like slaves and even 2023 that is meant to be for the south, foolish Igbos like you will still sell Igbo presidency to the north just because you relish being a slave?
cult like following --- not when he is not contesting

on tribal grounds, they wouldnt abandon their own even PMBs support wouldn't be total

both igbos and yorubas are all slaves to the hausas as nigeria stands now. igbos are fighting to be free but yorubas are always there to frustrate and laugh.

we supported OBJ and u don't want to reciprocate instead u lots are playing the devils advocate and wanting another round of support in 2023. aren't u greedy.

souths slot in 1999 and 2003 was used by the yorubas
so u mean another slot to south will also be for u people. na only u waka come?
afterall igbos have always made move to go their seperate way so that only yorubas will be southern nigeria. u people frustrated it and still refusing to share any southern slot with us . GREED KILLS, CURE UR GREED

That the APC will field a South Western candidate in 2023 is almost a foreclosed issue.

The problem now is WHO?
and that candidate will not win because igbos will work against that person. HOW?
we will just support a north west candidate and watch all the norherners happily decamp to PDP, because that will mean another eight years for them - abi na who no like power-
yorubas just be deceiving themselves. u cant win the presidency without the igbos
u people can continue ur tribal campaigns to the advantage of the north
dont ever think that northerners will abandon their own person and vote u. NEVER

Its funny how she thinks only presidency can solve issues. Let her select a community in her state, inspire the people there to be massively involved in mechanised farming, use the proceeds to set up hospitals and schools, inspire them to reject corruption, bribery and laziness, generate their own power and many more. If so wore too did so alongside Moghalu, Nigeria will transform. But they want the presidency because they love power, not responsibility. Funmi ransom Kuti only did her work in abeokuta. She met Chairman Mao for that.
the constitution has made it that the presidency controls all of us from abuja. if they fail we all fail, if they pass we all pass. thats the reason we are all asking for restructuring and true federalism

Oshigun:
Yorubas are not deceiving themselves because what we have done politically, mainly because of the political talent of Tinubu, has paid dividends and is an encouragement that now show those of us coming behind Jagaban that nothing is impossible if you work patiently and with focus.

APC now control the entire SW when it was only Lagos in 1999. We can now move towards regional integration no one can stop. When we started talking about this in the days of ACN no one believed we would get here. This shows you what vision and planning for the long term can achieve instead of the short term and 'profit today' outlook of the Igbos that always see you losing out.

Believe what you want but the positive feedback the Yorubas have gained from the political success our patient strategizing has delivered will keep us working towards our main goal.

Even if, worst case, the North deny us the Presidency in 2023 as you claim will happen, are we now not in control of our own destiny with a centre supporting us and full autonomy over all SW States with no PDP spoiler impeding us? We are very good politically right now bruv. Worry about yourselves and how to reverse your own self-inflicted political misfortune.
point of correction u are not in control of ur destiny. the hausa fulani controls everybody just as in ur ports (NPA) and MM intl airport., ur oil in ondo. the hausa fulani determined who ur governor was in ondo against jagabans wish, but we determined our governors ourselves in the east. remember u are still tied to the national grid of electricity. we still all bound under this unitary system and u are saying u determine ur destiny.HOW? name one thing u determine urselves that excludes other regions
u feel u are controlling ur destiny because of the name of the party controlling ur SW region. we are all bound by the whims and caprices of anybody controlling the FG. , unless there is a restructuring geared towards true federalism
Politics › Re: Sanwo-Olu: Igbo Man Will Be Governor Of Lagos One Day by bigfish3k: 12:37pm On Dec 20, 2018
Deadlytruth:
The 2003 election was a brazen daylight robbery in the SW by Obasanjo for fear of the obviously imminent repeat of the 1999 humiliation in which he lost even his ward.
Moreover, Afenifere was already polarized at that time hence could not longer speak for all Yorubas. The likes of Tinubu and his loyalists had dumped the pan-Yoruba group and begun charting a new political trajectory for Yorubas.
With all these in the background back then it is not really factual to claim that Yorubas supported Obasanjo for 2003.
Those who supported Obasanjo again that year were Igbos who even voted against their own Ojukwu.
so PDP robbed SW states and not the eastern states. why couldnt they rob lagos of votes

Oshigun:
This is the problem of the Igbo man. Always sentimental about everything and not ready to work with reality because of the primordial hatred of others. Buhari is a socialist. He will always remain uncomfortable with Tinubu's aggresive capitalist leanings to never feel Jagaban deserves the top job in Nigeria.

Yet does same apply to Osinbajo who is simlar to PMB in ideology and who Buhari trust enough to have made the most effective and powerful VP since 1999? Or his boys like Fashola and Fayemi?

Buhari is an honourable man too who believes loyalty and equity should beget same. Buhari is not Machiavellian or treacherous. He will understand everything, whether politics or life, must have balances. He will not support the cheating of the SW because things work better for now and the future when peace reigns and diverse group work together towards a common goal.

Everyone undertstands this better than the Igbos and this is why you do things in the short term, without an eye on the future, that always leaves you on the losing side. Like this senseless support for the PDP and total bigoted ' all eggs in one basket' rejection of the APC when commonsense says you should keep your options open for future gains.
what u stated above is what life suppose to be
but this is not how it is in Nigeria
the PMB i witnessed in this my age and time is bigoted. it is clear to every discerning human. have u checked his appointments? have u heard 97% and 5% before? have u seen how he treated IPOBS and shiites and how he treated fulani herdsmen? etc

have u heard that he voted against an igbo nigerian from becoming an OAU scribe? instead he voted for a fulani his tribe from another country
dont be deceived my dear. Even if PMB support u, the north will not.

all igbos need do is to bring somebody from the north west and give their support, that will be the end of the story.
and the yorubas will retaliate likewise. and the cycle will continue between the east and the west until the yorubas learn to reciprocate what the igbos did for them in 1999 and 2003

just be deceiving urselves with 2023. the north has come to stay and "born to rule mentality is finally achieved". thanks to the yorubas

Deadlytruth:
I am not Yoruba but that doesn't preclude me from setting the records straight as a Nigerian.
Yorubas' Afenifere made themselves clear that Olu Falae was their candidate and that Obasanjo was the face of the Northern Oligarchy in that election, and in point of fact all Yoruba States rejected Obasanjo in that election.
On the contrary Igbos preference for Obasanjo was mainly to spite Yorubas in furtherance of their traditional political marriages with the Hausafulanis from Independence.
You can't take an action to spite someone and then turn around to interprete it as support for him.
ok agreed , if igbos voted first term

why didnt the yorubas reject him also in his second term or who are the yorubas trying to spite
because the igbos and the yorubas voted for him in his second term

btw, have u now accepted the afenifere as the spoke people for the yorubas

Per the bolded, your support for Obasanjo was a support for Hausafulanis and the Northern militaristic establishment whose candidate he was in that election. The Yorubas' own candidate was Olu Falae whom you Igbos voted massively against.
two of them are yorubas.
which yoruba group told us that falae was ur candidate. or how do we know

we have our sons that also contested but in the spirit of fairness, we voted for one of ur man
RECIPROCAL is what we need.
if u cant do it then u are the aggressor. then the north can rule this shithole forever for all i care
we are all in it together

shut up! no one is owing u and we don't even care about u, in 2023 all Osinbajo need is the support of Buhari and the north will fall in place. it has happen in 1993, it will happen again, ur 5% vote is useless.
with what happened to jagaban in PMBs first tenure u actually believe that the north even with PMB support will support u and abandon their own in another party without bringing in triba/religiousl politics to sway in their people. u don't reason critically

in 1993, did u rule. NO
WHY? because they didn't expect that a southerner will win. and power was not handed over and it ended in tragedy. and please stop using tragedy as an example of a future thing to come. mark my words, given what i explained in my first write up, no yoruba man can win elections without the igbos because hausas will always support theirs and they just need one of the two tribes in the south to win which igbos will be too willing to provide as far as yorubas have not reciprocated what igbos did for them in 1999 and 2003 in winning elections

remember that u cant compare 1993 politics that is devoid of tribal and religious sentiment to that of today. remember that it was conducted by a military man that was not contesting.

It is not impossible but will be very difficult if Igbos don't get rid of their civil war resentment and hate to begin building bridges with others. Are Igbos not ashamed that almost 50 years after the civil war ended no Igbo is considered trustworthy enough to lead Nigeria?

As long as people feel you hate and resent them then they will never make you their leader. If Igbos will not recognise that they are the ones who must humble themselves and work to gain the trust of others then it will never happen.
its the yorubas that are owing igbos
we supported OBJ for 8yrs to be president
and up till now we are still waiting for ur reciprocal
instead u lots are backstabbing us and telling us we can never rule

i pity u people because, without ur reciprocal
no yoruba will rule again.
imagine if osibanjo is APC flagbearer now.
do u think all these northerners chanting APC wouldn,t defect to PDP to support their own?
then u will have to need igbo support to win. and that is what is needed for a southern man to win
thats why am surprised at fashola and co that are playing tribal politics against the igbos. its very dangerous for the south.
we will just forever remain at the mercy of the north because of the yorubas attitude towards the igbos

yorubas are owing us. they need to reciprocate what we did for OBJ instead u are demanding humility
