Yorubas are not deceiving themselves because what we have done politically, mainly because of the political talent of Tinubu, has paid dividends and is an encouragement that now show those of us coming behind Jagaban that nothing is impossible if you work patiently and with focus.

APC now control the entire SW when it was only Lagos in 1999. We can now move towards regional integration no one can stop. When we started talking about this in the days of ACN no one believed we would get here. This shows you what vision and planning for the long term can achieve instead of the short term and 'profit today' outlook of the Igbos that always see you losing out.

While I am not Yoruba, I have taken my time to deeply study Yorubas style of politicking as recorded in the annals of history and physically on ground, and my verdict is that they are the only Nigerians who play principled politics focusing on the drive towards democratic ideals and futuristic outlook while not loosing sight of the constraints of reality. The 2003 election was a brazen daylight robbery in the SW by Obasanjo for fear of the obviously imminent repeat of the 1999 humiliation in which he lost even his ward.
Moreover, Afenifere was already polarized at that time hence could not longer speak for all Yorubas. The likes of Tinubu and his loyalists had dumped the pan-Yoruba group and begun charting a new political trajectory for Yorubas.
With all these in the background back then it is not really factual to claim that Yorubas supported Obasanjo for 2003.
Those who supported Obasanjo again that year were Igbos who even voted against their own Ojukwu.
