Dtruthspeaker:So you believe that one day, everyone whose ideas and views don’t align with yours, will burn in an everlasting inferno, and be tortured till eternity and you think you’re moral? |
9japride:And what makes you think the northerners would support tinubu if there happens to be another northern Muslim on the ballot? |
Krismas:Why do you make such claim? What makes you think humans have not evolved over time? We don’t even have enough data on the theory of evolution. There are a lot of blank spots on the details, making any such claim is ludicrous. We still evolve. We evolved bigger brains overtime, there are vestigial structures in our body (like the palmaris longus, a tendon that around 10-15% of all human are missing on either one or both of their arms. You can find this vein by pushing your thumb against your pinky in an opposing manner. Another is the ability to move your ears, this physiological ability would’ve presumably been more useful to our nocturnal ancestors, but they are quite useless to us, hence only few people have the ability. Another is goosebumps. The list is endless. |
9japride:I cannot predict the future. And I’d argue that neither can you. The claim that everyone would do as you predict is a far stretch. Anything can happen. And you don’t know what. |
Dtruthspeaker:Experience is not an assumption. I have crossed swords with atheists too many times that I must come to a conclusion, exactly how you too have come to a conclusion on women. And there are too many threads/posts to prove that this is the same conclusion people have arrived at.Your experience is not fact. Like I said, human experience is a terrible source of evidence. You engage in these kind of clashes because you start every conversation with invectives and slanderous submissions. I have no conclusions on women or any group of people for that matter.https://www.nairaland.com/4618490/atheism-extreme-evil#69394396There is no such thing as “main atheists”, the fact that you’re not in good terms with the ones you meet here doesn’t say anything about the behavior of atheists. |
Krismas:lol. See your mouth. You think evolution is only physical? |
9japride:you and who? Plus, who told you that the north enjoyed power? Do you see how miserable the are? |
Krismas:Define human |
Dtruthspeaker:Your view of atheists is an assumption. It is baseless as you cannot substantiate the claim that the atheists position is evil, while yours is moral. I wrote this in my quiet time and i didn’t want to share it now but I think someone like you needs to read this. “One thing society need to understand is that; God fearing does not equate to rectitude any more than godlessness equates to depravity. One can be God fearing and still be morally depraved. Likewise, one can be godless and morally upright. In fact, it is statistically proven that the rate of self-declared atheists [godless individuals] in prisons and other correctional institutions is relatively minuscule [0.001% give or take] in juxtaposition with the rate of the God fearing. Further, countries and organizations that have high rates of godless folk (over 80 and 90% identifying as atheist) are by and large, relatively safer, less corrupt, and generally more prosperous than religiously predominated ones. The prevailing religious outlook that portrays godless people as inherently flawed and unprincipled, having an incorrigible propensity for moral turpitude, while portraying God fearing individuals as morally superior, is baseless and anachronistic, I think Nigeria should serve as clear proof of that. As a person who lives in a largely religious society, the most nefarious, utterly sadistic and iniquitous set of people I know, are religious and “God fearing”. Such stereotypes is what allows for illustrious individuals in religious hierarchical subsets to escape justice or even scrutiny apropos moral conduct, while godless folk are assumed to be evil by default because they fear no deity. Speaking of fear, I opine that the practice of grounding your morality in the “fear of God” is insubstantial. That one’s moral compass is predicated on the idea of a god, doesn’t make one a good person. If the only reason you’re doing good deeds, is because you are afraid of what could happen to you if you do bad deeds, then you’re essentially a bad person who is being restrained from acting on your default. Basically a dog on a leash, and your morality is contingent.” - Biggeststar |
Krismas:And why are you showing me evidence of Australopithecus? I said to show me evidence of the first human. The australopithecines were definitely the early human-like hominids according to scientific evidence. But I’m asking for the evidence of the first human being, the first member of the Homo sapiens. |
Dtruthspeaker:I have nothing else to say to you. I’ll advice you not to make quick assumptions when submitting an argument. It doesn’t help in ensuing a productive conversation when you assume that every one who disagrees with you is either evil, possessed or intransigent. It suppresses your reasoning and prevents you from questioning your own ideas. You don’t assert people’s ignorance or arrogance before inquiry. This doesn’t help in finding the truth. |
butterflyl1on:Aside from the Bible, do you have any other source of evidence that proves that premarital sex is wrong? |
Krismas:Disagree. You see, scientists don’t even have a clear definition of what a human is. The Neanderthals, they exhibit similar behaviors and also posses similar corporeal features as we humans, however many scientists will not refer to a Neanderthal as “human”. The definition apropos of what a human is, is still up in the air. If you think there’s a first human you could go ahead and Google what the first human looked like. If you do your research properly you would find that species change from time to time and evolution is an ever occurring process. There’s no destination. Unless we assign one from an anthropocentrist’s perspective. But as far as evolution is concerned, there are no definite stages in evolution where we could point to a first member of a new species. Google is your friend. I’m not an authority in the field, just a curious researcher. As for your second paragraph, I won’t go into that. I don’t argue with assumptions. |
Electorate:Some of you and your thought pattern scares me. If you understand the theory of evolution, you would know that there was never a “first man” or a “first chicken” or even a first rat. Man is simply the term we assigned to the bipedal hominids that walked the earth from 200,000 to 300,000 years ago. We evolved from an evolutionary ancestor and we continue evolving. There are no definite stages of evolution. There’s no point in evolution where we could say that Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens, that kind of reasoning is incongruent with the whole idea of evolution. We call this version of primates humans because that’s what we found. That’s what we are. There was never a first human. Unless you don’t accept evolution, if this is the case, then I see no use going further in this conversation. Secondly, if you insist that just because people haven’t experienced something doesn’t change the reality of its existence, this also applies to you as well. Just because you have experienced something doesn’t mean it’s real either. Human experience is a terrible source of evidence. There are a plethora of symptoms that can alter our perception of reality. It’s only normal for humans to believe what they thought they might have seen regardless of facts. And the fact is that there is no evidence for any god. No single shred. Lastly, who tf gave you authority to decide who created what? You claim it’s one god, the person you’re replying to says it could be more than one. Your claim is just as valid as his in that neither of you can provide a single shred of evidence that your assertions are correct. BTW. An atheist is not someone who claims that there is no god. Rather, an atheist is someone who lacks belief in any gods. They simply have no use for the concept. They don’t deny it, it’s not a fact, it’s a belief. |
advocatejare:Delusions like? |
Dtruthspeaker:See how religion has completely suppressed your critical thinking skills. The person you’re replying to never said that he was the one asking for a miracle. There are countless Cristians asking the Christian god for a miracle right now, and their prayers will not be answered. Some pray for healing, some pray for financial resuscitation, some pray for protection. And a lot of them will leave empty. Even worse is that, many of them, according to some Christian doctrines, will eventually go to hell for being born into the wrong denomination and praying to the wrong version of the true god. This is not an attempt to defame or besmirch the reputation of your God, the argument of evil and suffering is simply pointing out that there is so much suffering in the world, that the entire basis of life itself is based on the suffering of one life in order to preserve another. Mosquitoes need our blood to survive, they feed on the most vulnerable and infect them with diseases, most times eventually killing them. There are insects that have to paralyze other animals, and feed on them alive, lay their eggs in them and make their children feed on the paralyzed animal until it dies. There’s also the Guinea worm, an organism whose whole purpose is to get into the eyes of human children and eat their eyes, painfully and slowly turning them blind. Every kind of suffering and pain you can imagine, exists. This begs the question, Why? Why create all of this? For what purpose? This is not to make an argument that god exists and that he is evil, it just expresses that the belief in the theistic god is inconsistent with rationality and morality. Have you ever ask why such things happen? Or you’re only concerned about how these things haven’t happened to you or your family? When you start asking the real questions, you find that believing in a god is utter insanity. The wars and genocides that have been motivated and encouraged by different religious dogmas. The hiddenness of god that is a major problem as it has caused every culture to create their own version of god and pass it down either through propaganda, oral recounting, or violence. Nobody hate your god. Atheists just don’t care for it. |
Namaster:Plus he also threatens you with eternal torment if you ever loose faith in him. What a parent. |
Merry100:Great story. Buy this doesn’t prove anything about a god. It certainly doesn’t prove that this good is your specific god. |
The silly poster is neither Igbo nor Ikwerre. If the Igbo and the ikwerres truely want peace, I suggest you ignore this thread. |
You guys should leave these people alone. It’s obvious that everybody will stop dragging them when their oil is used up or becomes a redundancy in the global industrial market. Oil is gradually but surely becoming useless in developed manufacturing nations. When it’s no longer necessary as a commodity, all of you, both the ones that fight for one Nigeria and the ones that fight for Biafra, will no longer find any use for that ethnic group. Africans should understand that mineral resources does not determine the prosperity or success of any nation. In fact it has nothing to do with it. As far as I’m concerned, Nigeria’s oil is useless to Nigeria, same will happen in Biafra if you force them into your country. Let them be. |
Or may be no such things exists. |
ponishah:Mr man go and sit down. You are making frivolous claims here. If a yoruba man offended you get over it. You sound so silly. I don’t know who told you Igbos are afraid of Yorubas. What a claim. Don’t you see the absurdities of your claims? “Playing igbos like chess” common Are you even Igbo? Anyway, I don’t hate the Yorubas but there are some bitter elements from that tribe that will always rant about igbo affairs, so I’m just pointing out the obvious. However I agree with you that igbos should not be bothered about what a nonentity says. Your tone however, I will not tolerate. Control yourself. |
ponishah:So the yorubas are right in interfering in igbo affairs? Or what are you saying. |
LagosFc:Oga get out of my comments. Una no Dey tire? |
LagosFc:Omor 🤦🏻♂️ God save this tribe. As you write this thing what did you think it would achieve? Sorry oo. |
I’m Igbo from Anambra state and I agree and accept the Ikwerre people for who they are. I also advice my fellow Igbos to desist from conscripting these people into the Igbo tribe as it is sure to sabotage the relationship betwixt the SE and neighboring states. However, I would like to make something clear. I know that identifying as Igbo in Nigeria now can be though as you will likely be treated with utter disdain and marginalization by bigots from some other regions and ethnicities, but if ever anything happens that makes it advantageous to identify as Igbo, I would not be happy if these people unsay what has already been established. Let’s not pretend like it doesn’t happen. We see it happen every time, where someone from ikwerre/agbor/ika etc. switches identities like outfit depending on what is advantageous to them at the time. We are even witnessing it happening now in Ohaneze Ndigbo committee with these charlatans (even though I don’t care for Ohaneze and I think they shouldn’t be allowed to represent the igbos, just my opinion). It’s unfortunate that our language is almost similar so there is no definite way of telling who is who except a person identifies as either Igbo or Ikwerre. But we can still live together in peace and that is why I advice igbos to stop referring to people outside SE as igbos, let the ones that identify as igbos from that region continue to do what they think is right. As for the ones that don’t, they should be left to decide their own origin and history, you cannot do that for them. I don’t support Biafra, at least not now when it is spearheaded by criminals, so I understand how it feels to be forced into the idea of Biafra by Igbo expansionists. For this reason, I sympathize with you apropos of the forcible conscription of the ikwerre people into the Igbo ethnic group and Biafra. You deserve to choose your origin. |
helinues:As long as e concern igbos, check very well a Yoruba man must be there commenting as though he knew anything about the issue. lol. You and your ilk sef. |
NOETHNICITY:Person wey no get single property don talk. Can’t wait for outsiders to buy all the land in your entire region because of how pauperized you have become. Silly lot. |
Zincfingers:I refer you to my initial comment. What a downright fool. You don’t read again? |
What does it matter? Ohaneze has never represented the igbos so what’s all the fuss?. He is on his own. Let them select any tribe the like as ohaneze as long as they don’t represent the igbos. |
osuofia2:This is why I’m glad I’m not a Yoruba person. You leave the slew of problems concerning criminality and insecurity in your region and start focusing on another one. God save you people. What a tribe! What a sorry state to be from that tribe. |
Bmaster:Such profound wisdom. Lol |
What makes u assume, i was referring to 'only physical'?
