GEORGE ALLI MEETS WITH STAKEHOLDERS INTRODUCES POS IN OTUKPO LG Stakeholders in Otukpo, that cut across all the sectors of the economy; Petroleum dealers, Banking, Traders association, Captains of industries, Transport workers, Entrepreneurs etc, met with the Sole Administrator of Otukpo local government, Hon. George Alli where he introduced the use of Point On Sales machine (POS) as the medium of revenue collection in the council. Hon.Alli informed the stakeholders, how the dwindling oil price at the International market has affected the allocation, to the council from the Federation, and the need to look inward. He further stated that, the use of the POS will go a long way to block all leakage used in diverting and siphoning council revenue, ensures accountability and transparency of the tax payers money and that, Otukpo will be the first local government among the 23 councils in the State, to have adopted the use of the POS. The Sole Administrator also, spoke on the importance of the Cooperate Social Responsibility, as it is done all over the World. According to him, "I have been doing businesses in and out side Otukpo, so the concept of Cooperate Social Responsibility is not strange", he appealed for the stakeholders support and cooperation and also asked for the inputs to make Otukpo great, being the pride of the Idoma nation. Speakers in the meeting opined that, this initiative by the Sole Administrator is a laudable one and it gives them a sense of belonging, and they encouraged such an inclusive gathering for critical decision on matters affected the council. Though, they were embittered by the terrible nature of the local government that has suffered neglect for decades. They all agreed on the need for the Cooperate Social Responsibility but also advise Hon. Alli to encourage the youth on the essence community development, and he should ensures the observation of the monthly sanitation, advocacy against indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the roads during rainfall. Lolz this reminds me of one benue guy dat was offererd forestry and wildlife in the University of maiduguri back then in 2009.
