PropertiesRe: How Do I Handle This Prepaid Meter Issue With My Neighbors? by bigl: 6:13pm On Feb 10
Chief, no need to sweat..... Split the wiring into each apartment and install this smart meter shown in the image below.

Whenever u recharge, say 180 units, u split into 3 = 60 units per each apartment ...

Anyone wey like, make e use hin own finish, tha'ts his problem ... Once any apartment exhaust their units, their light goes off while others enjoy thiers.

Its being sold on jumia jare:

Host78:
Hello guys

Please I'm having electricity problem with our new neighbour and I'm confused with what to do right now.

Here's the issue:

So we live in a compound where 3 rooms are connected to one prepaid.

So 3 of us donate to fund our prepaid meter.

A few months ago we were paying 4k and this usually last us for 2+ months. The reason I believe is that all we had to power is ceiling fans and charging of our devices (phones and laptops)

But ever since we got our new neighbor, the light bill has suddenly increased.

This month alone, we've recharged 8k+ individually and by my calculations, it'll cost each of us 12k+ for light to reach us for one month.

This is a significant jump from the 4k that will normally cover us for 2+ months.

I'm really not happy about this and don't know what to do right now.

I can't imagine paying 12k+ a month just to power my ceiling fans and laptop.

I have spoken with her and she told me she's using only fridge with the light, which I don't quite understand, how much our bill has jumped so significantly.

Please any suggestions on what to do will be welcome.

HealthRe: Help! I'm Going Deaf by bigl: 8:30am On Feb 07
Its nothing to be worried about ...

Its most likely impacted wax that's blocking you from hearing properly ...

The issue with earbud is it encourages growth of bacteria and wax especially if u don't clean the earbud properly ...

I had a similar issue sometimes last year ... The pain is as a result of the impacted wax, resting on your ear drum ... It was cleared out by a specialist. First few hours/days were strange ... I was hearing so clear that even if a spec of sand drops, i'll hear it...

Just see an ENT doc and they'll most likely flush or find ways to clean your ear which takes less than 1 hour (the cost might blow you out of mother earth though) but its always worth it.

When its done, you'll ear some frequencies (high) that you probably not have been hearing for a long time due to the gradual build up of wax.

And lastly, always listen to your music at less than 50% volume and try get this itel budfit 5 whic doesn't sit in the ear canal but hangs outside ...

That's what i switch to and so far, no issue.

DeclanR:
Please Doctors, kindly come to my aid.

WHAT HAPPENED

I don't know if it's called Earpod, Earbud or Airpod, but it's all earpiece.
So I bought a Bluetooth one, downloaded Spotify playlist app on my phone's playstore and began listening to jamz 24/7 except when I'm bathing. Even at work, I use it.

I wasn't used to using accessories like this.

So, I noticed a pain inside my right ear, later it became a boyl. I felt the pains, took Bicham ampiclox and after a few days, it disappeared.

Now I can't hear with that ear any longer. I can only partially hear with it.

HOW AM I FEELING ?

In the ear, I feel like there's a blockage which is impeding sound. I feel like there's water in there. You know how it is when you're bathing and water enters into your ear? That's how the feeling is, right now. If I'm talking to someone, I feel there is an earpiece hanging in my ear, so I need to speak louder than normal. This is the Third day.
I am worried.
BusinessRe: Paypal Is Back In Nigeria — This Time With Paga by bigl: 12:09am On Feb 02
Thanks for this update.

Sorted mine out some days ago: both linked successfully!

baboyo:
After nearly two decades of limited access, PayPal has returned to Nigeria through a strategic partnership with Paga. But beyond the announcement lies a deeper story about persistence, local infrastructure, and the quiet builders who kept Nigeria’s digital economy alive long before global giants were ready to commit.

For years, PayPal in Nigeria felt like a locked door with a familiar logo. Nigerians could send money out, but receiving it, especially for freelancers, creators, and small businesses, remained a frustrating impossibility. It wasn’t for lack of demand. It was due to a lack of trust in infrastructure, regulation, and consistency.

So when news broke that PayPal was returning to Nigeria through Paga, it landed differently. Not as hype. Not as noise. But as a moment of recognition, one that had been a long time coming.

To understand why this return matters, you have to step away from PayPal for a moment and look at Paga, and more importantly, at the man behind it: Tayo Oviosu. Long before fintech became fashionable, Oviosu returned to Nigeria with a quiet conviction that payments should work for everyday people, not just banks and multinationals. He built Paga in 2009, when cash dominated, and digital trust was thin. He stayed through regulatory uncertainty, infrastructure gaps, and economic cycles that buried less patient founders.

That persistence is the real headline.
Visit technaija.com for more related articles.

PayPal didn’t just “choose” Nigeria again. It chose a partner that had already done the unglamorous work, building compliance rails, navigating regulation, and earning local trust transaction by transaction. Paga wasn’t built for headlines. It was built for a scale that survives reality.

This partnership marks PayPal’s most meaningful re-entry into Nigeria since its quiet exit nearly twenty years ago. Back then, the ecosystem wasn’t ready. Today, Nigeria’s digital economy is driven by freelancers exporting skills, creators monetising audiences, startups serving global clients, and SMEs operating across borders. What was missing was frictionless access to global payments, not ambition.

Now, Nigerians can receive international PayPal payments directly into their Paga wallets, convert to naira, and move funds seamlessly. It’s not just convenience. It’s validation. A signal that global platforms can no longer ignore African markets, not as future potential, but as a present force.

But there’s another layer to this story. PayPal’s return is not about generosity. It’s about inevitability. Nigeria has become too large, too digital, and too economically active to be sidelined. The rise of fintechs like Paga, Flutterwave, Paystack, and others created an environment that PayPal once deemed too complex. Local players absorbed the risk. They learned the terrain. They built trust. Now, global giants are stepping back in, through them.

This is what maturity looks like in an ecosystem. Not foreign dominance, but collaboration. Not replacement, but reinforcement.

For Nigerian freelancers who once relied on workarounds, for startups that lost deals due to payment friction, and for creators who watched peers elsewhere get paid faster, this moment feels personal. It closes a long-open loop. It also reminds us that progress in tech isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s the reward for staying when others leave.

PayPal’s return through Paga is less about PayPal finding Nigeria again and more about Nigeria becoming impossible to ignore.

Good morning Nairalanders, Please there's this issue that has been bothering me for a while now. There's this lady whom I met and have been dating for about 3 years now.

Though we've been doing alright all these while but suddenly she started having dreams concerning my family. Last night, she had a dream and she said inside the dream, my elder sister was berating her why she hasn't gotten pregnant for me all these while.

The truth of the matter is that we've only been cohabiting for 8 months and she hasn't for once missed her period.

Whenever we made love, I always noticed that she'd go the bathroom to pee and wash her private part. I have asked many elderly people around what that means and they keep telling me she doesn't want to get pregnant. Is that even possible at all?

The other disturbing part is that her mother is a traditional religious woman who worships the gods of her village and my woman also does the same. Recently I've been considering on how to marry her and have even been working towards it, and would be around March, next year.

Please, Nairalanders, what could be the problem. Should I go ahead with the whole relationship, considering how her family background is surrounded by the traditional religious practices of her family and how fetish she's. Could that also be the reason she has been finding it very difficult to take in?

Please mods, help me push this to the front page so that I can hear from others experiences and get a wider advise on how to go about this.

RomanceRe: How Should I Go About This? by bigl: 11:19pm On Dec 10, 2025
Bro, i'll advice you find a way to part ways but on certain conditions:

1. Do u want her to take in for you before you consider marrying her? If yes, does she agree with that? Have discussed it? If not, please talk about it verbally without assuming anything. If she is against it and you just want it to happen, u gotta run ...

2. Why is she not taking in, atleast for once? Let her know you've observed that she has not taken in for u ... But its advisable u go and run SFA at a reputable lab before u take this 2nd step ... Its about 10 to 45k and its an analysis for your sperm health ... if u have good result that shows ur soldiers are actively matching and with good health, u can take this step 2 and if possible, suggest u both visit a health clinic to examination ... she might have something as simple as hormonal imbalance which can be correct but all these, can't be done if she is not willing ... and if she isn't willing, pls don't run, fly with 25 jet engines ...

3. Ask her why she always runs to be bathroom to pee and wash her vjayjay ... Obviously, we know why: she doesn't want to get pregnant ... But still, ask her why, to see if she will lie about it ... if she does, then brova, shove ya azzz along and move to the next relationship.

At this day and age, nobody has the time for lies and dishonesty especially, in a relationship ... why waste each others time and efforts, ehnhuh

Those are my views bro ... if u still need to maybe discuss further, drop ya contact ...

From experience, that your corolla 04, has that small button, below the big gear clutch button, on the gear, when depressed, it enables the gear to enter 4 (its usually labelled as O/D or overdrive) ....

If its not pressed and left in down position, it will stay in 3 ... U just wasted your 140k and now, you have bigger problem ...

Donsilase:
Early November my car(corolla 2004) started giving sign of gear failure, it doesn't get to gear 4. I told a friend, he said he has someone that repairs automatic transmission and the person is very good, I then asked him to take me to his workshop. When we got there we met the so called gearmaster, he drove the car and said he will fix it and give us 3 months guarantee. He charged me 140k which I gave him 100k as deposit then he asked us to come back in the next one week. after one week I called him and asked how far, he said he haven't gotten some of the parts, we should exercise patience. After 2 weeks I called him again, he said there is progress that he's about to mount it. Meanwhile I couldn't be going to his workshop from time to time because it's far from my place, so last week I decided to go there. When I got there first I discovered my windshield has cracked, I asked him what happened, he said probably it was a mistake, I then asked him what of the gear, he said he's fixing it that I should wait and carry it. I said no problem. I waited till evening when he finished doing what he was doing the started the car to test it, behold my car doesn't enter reverse again, even when he put it in drive one of the tires doesn't move, meanwhile when I brought the car it was entering reverse, the only issue was gear 4. That was how we started quarreling, I told him to return the gear to the condition it was before and refund my money, he said its not possible that he's even tired of the work.

Please how do I handle this particular man, I didn't want to touch him because he's an elderly man

That's a great brand ...

I have the D2 ... wired/connected to my change over ... whenever nepa does their stuffs, i simply change over and carry on with my life as if nothing happened.

Its paired with a 605w solar panel so, i'm not dependent on nepa to charge it ... i'm technically off-drid (micro way grin grin) ...

Its a great product ... and yeah, one day, i forgot to switch off my electric cooker ... guess what? Nothing happened ... the D2 powered it ...

If its the regular solar/inverter arrangement, it would have been fried ...

Ecoflow is awesome!!! Period

Chinatolagos:
An EcoFlow Portable Power Station (PPS) is essentially a large, rechargeable, battery-powered generator housed in a compact, portable case.
It functions as an alternative to traditional, noisy, and fuel-dependent gas generators.

The key characteristics of a portable power stations are:

1. They use advanced lithium-ion batteries, often LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), which are known for their safety, long lifespan (thousands of charge cycles), and durability.

2. They feature a variety of outputs to power nearly any device, which includes: Standard AC wall outlets, USB-A and USB-C ports, DC and car charger ports.

3. They can be recharged using several versatile methods which are: Standard AC wall outlet, Solar panels, Car adapter and a smart generator

4. Unlike gas generators, they run silently and produce zero fumes or carbon monoxide, making them safe for indoor use.

EcoFlow portable power station is trending because:

1. It is a reliable home backup power
2. It is highly versatile and has a clean energy
3. Their X-Boost technology allows the power station to safely run some high-wattage appliances
4. It is particularly known for its proprietary X-Stream technology, which allows the units to recharge significantly faster than competitors—sometimes 0% to 100% in as little as an hour.

Have you had an ecounter with Ecoflow portable power station? What is your take on it?

Suspend my foot!!!

FreeStuffsNG:
Mr. Wike stood in loco the President of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces on that fateful day. Consequently, even if the superior officer were still in service, he would not disobey Mr. Wike or obstruct him from entering the land. This was an affront to the civil authority of Mr. President.

The Minister’s method may be brash; but it is legal and lawful in all respects. Rather, it is the officer who obstructed him that has breached not just the Nigerian Constitution, but also service and extant regulatory laws. For the avoidance of any doubt, section 114 of the Armed Forces Act makes military personnel criminally liable for civil offences. This means the officer in question could be arraigned before a Court Martial for obstructing a public officer from performing his public duties, et cetera.

Patriotic Nigerians have started talking.

The least FG and the Military authorities can do right now is to immediately suspend him while preparing for his arraignment.
