I wonder what will happen when the funds realised from the number of foreign students levied, is not enough to pay the hordes of home students tha would lured by this. May be dem go begin levy the air per sqr meter wey migrants de breathe ReesheesuKnack: They want to impose a 6% TAX on International Students so that they will use the money to fund grants for ‘Home’ students!!!!
The same international students that even after getting glossy paper UK degrees will wait a minimum of 10 years to get ILR?
If I say this UK Labour Government has ALL the hallmarks of Nigeria’s 2015 APC, JamesClooney will come for me.
But honestly… what sort of rubbish is that?? I am done putting up with this nonsense.

There is not much milk left in the immigration thing.

At embolden, exactly 💯 that's simply the truth of their target but being who they are can't afford to chest it. Zia tries by calling out non-EU but we all know their main target. Zahra29: The proposed ILR changes are not only being targeted at skilled workers - other groups such as SWV dependents and asylum seekers will also be impacted. The latter currently do not have to be in employment and pay taxes in order to achieve ILR. Refugees can access benefits before ILR etc so some of the proposed eligibility conditions will impact some groups more. |

Gadget resellers are in the retail market segment, and they sell their gadgets in Naira equivalent to the dollar using black market rate. Dangote buys oil from NNPC in dollars, same NNPC imports petrol (subsidized) and competes with the refinery to sell in Naira, makes no sense. Assetosky: Those people that import gadgets from abroad to Nigeria buys with which currency? |

You get it. Same way BVN exposed a lot before they started circumventing its use Starmer knows if he ties it to illegal immigrants, people would support it He didn't expect the push backs, I'm sure after more debates, eyes would open to the real benefits. Goke7: That's what I think it's all about too, to centralise all forms of IDs, which is why citizens will kick against it too, cos all forms of benefits abuse will also be exposed |

Lol ...I think to an extent, the digital ID might be a good idea to aggregate the UK identity platforms (passport, eVisa, driver's license, NI, NHS number etc) into one but definitely might not help in stopping illegal immigrants from working illegaly any more than the 'prove your immigration status' sharecode had. Borrowing from the experience back then in Ghana when every foreigner was required to get the Foreign resident Ghana Card, failure which led to their mobile telephony, mobile money and bank accounts suspended, it did not stop the illegals coming into Ghana but rather made proxy financial transactions more prominent. Similar might be applicable to foreigners in the UK but not the citizens Even at that, it would do little to block the illegal immigrants. Not forgetting the legal actions that would be instituted to fight all the human right violations not getting the card would result to. Jamesclooney: Starmer truly wan use his own hand to topple his government. Digital ID to stop illegal immigrants working? WTF?! The guy is so tone deaf. Abeg make I brace for the new govt, this guy can’t last another 12 months. Useless govt! Keir Starmer, I pour you pregnant woman spit water 💦 |

Thank you for the response and I appreciate it all. I had to ask just so one can avoid all these tax roforofo going on now 🤭😂 brine: Yes, the initial funding can come from personal savings. That's where mine came in from and I think they wouldn't mind it coming from other sources as long as it's legit. So, it could be from another director, a gift from family or friends or a loan from the bank.
The ideal amount depends on your business running expenses and there's no specific amount stated by HO. In my opinion, I think it's just good to show funds that can keep the business running for at least 6 months(paying yourself and any other company expenses). |

Nice and insightful, been following this with keen interest. 1. Can I please ask where the initial funding for the registered would come from? 2. Can the business owner pre-fund the company from their private savings until it starts making profit? 3. How much would be ideal to pre-fund? Thank you for your response in advance 🙌🏾🙏🏾 brine: Brotherly, you don’t need to pay yourself until the start date on your cos and after your visa has been approved. This is important, especially if you’re not currently sponsored by any company, as you’re not permitted to take on paid work without being under a valid sponsorship for a fulltime role. I did not trade with my company or pay myself via my company until I had gotten my visa. What I did instead was provide screenshots of email conversations with a few people who had inquired about my services when I applied for the sponsorship license.
For example, if you obtain the sponsorship licence at the end of October, you’ll likely receive 1 cos allocation. You Your authorizing officer would then log into sms which is the sponsorship management system, generate the cos, and pay the associated fee. Then, you'll likely set the start date on the cos as 1 December or 1 January to allow sufficient time for your visa application to be processed. Once your visa is approved and your cos start date begins, you can then run payroll at the end of that month.
Your authorizing officer is the person that logs into sms to generate the cos and same person that the home office will be reaching out to via email or phone in future. When they send an update on the sponsorship license application, it will be to the autorizing officer's email you provided.
Modified to include this: If you can, can you use a custom domain email platform? So, you have email@your-company-name. They are really cheap! I would recommend having an email account opened for your authorizing officer with their name@your-company-name and avoid having them usie their private email address. Feel free to ask here or shoot me an email if anything is unclear. |

£607.42 per month on transport is like £7290 per year which when you deduct from your annual salary would almost be equal to what you would get with the increase. If you think the difference in the two salaries after transport is deducted would be worth it, then go for it. Else look at the option of moving closer to your work area or buying a car to see if it cuts down the expense which I doubt it would. Senior role comes with more wahala sha 🤭 Bumzz00: Hi Everyone,
I need advise from gurus and well experienced people please.
I currently work in a local NHS with an annual income of £29907 before tax, due to increase to £33000 before tax in few months. I currently do not spend a penny on transportation with free staff bus available to and fro work and i enjoy as much flexibility as i wish to have with a daily commute of about 30 mins to and fro. I save quite a good amount monthly and spend even more less on feeding and housing cost about £700-£800 monthly.
I recently got a job offer in central London with a salary of £42000 before tax (a more senior but similar role as my current). By my rough calculation transportation monthly will cost me roughly £607.42 monthly excluding feeling and other misllc and daily commute of about 3hrs to and fro
Now i am confused if i should take the offer or not. Saying Local or commuting to the city. |

Do they need the Nigerian passport to apply for ILR? Why don't they opt for using the NIS app instead? Lolli2pop: Hi family, please i know 2 ladies that need to apply for an ILR in October . They are both mothers so it skipped their mind to check the validity on their Nigerian parents. To keep the story short they need to apply for ILR by october and the nigerian high commission has given them an appointment in December for passport renewal.
Please does anyone have any contacts here in London that could help these ladies. Because they have no other option. |
