Sounds like an ego problem? I would advise that you try to amend and make friends with them. They might be the ones ratting you out just to pepper you. They also might not be the ones but trust the authorities they would've been interviewed about your personality in the neighbourhood. Make that call and try to get them on your side if your personal reasons allow that though.

I always tell people this but trust Nigerians, they will tell you they don't want to lose validity on their passport so they'd apply when it expires. The earlier you begin the process the better.

SamReinvented:

Applied around March and got biometric appointment for early May. I did biometrics early May. Got my passport back early September.

There’s no fast track anymore. The people that I know that pulled the “long leg payment” ended up wasting money, cos they still waited like everyone else cheesy. Maybe fast track can help with biometrics date sha.

Your best bet is to start your passport processing as soon as your passport clocks 6 months to expiry, so you don’t run out of validity.

It is the reality of many student immigrants the only difference is that they (students) come with their partner and take turns in minding their underage kids or they use child minders or friendly neighbours. Some take their kids to the school library or lecture theatre to sit out with other kids and they are fine. All the best though.

You really think that was an anonymous call? They just told you that so you don't ask more questions or them revealing identity. Truth is you shouldn't leave your daughter alone to go socialising at night. It's even more understandable if it is for work but to attend birthday or drink out with friends... No no and it doesn't sound good to the ears dear. Kids lives have been lost due to issues bordering around their parents living them unattended to go drinking.

The police telling you your daughter seem well cared for might just be sarcasm and they have you on camera saying you left her for few hours to go out. It's no joke but they have enough evidence on you already. Better you watch it than be sorry later.

Gift7428:
So they just take kids away for the first time when they get an anonymous call? Have you experienced this in person or just making assumptions 😂

Irrespective of how long the main applicant (student) has spent on his or her visa, dependents are issued with a year visa and must pay the full amount. Please check here https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/family-members

So I mishandled some information and costed the hospital that I work in a lot of money. But what could this mean? Did he really forgive me just like that? I have a bad feeling about the entire thing. I mean, he didn't even show his anger towards me, and he was straightforward.

So why not take a chance to go buy these things someday and see whether her complaints are genuine or not?

Rtk4:
I give my wife #500 everyday to cook for the house and yet she complains, it's really annoying.

Do you know that the #500 is even too much because there's everything a woman need to cook in bulk in the house. Meat, crayfish, Maggi, salt, seasonings.....

I mean everything. All she buys is things we can't buy in bulk which is tomatoes and pepper. Please guys what's your take?

Here in the north all these perishables are too cheap, she just steps out of the house and buy them from women selling just in front of our house.

Before some people start saying I'm stingy, you must also know that she doesn't lack anything. I give her pocket money and also buys her anything she needs as far as i can afford.

Houses are cheaper up north but it also depends on what use you intend pitting the house or flats. Do you intend renting it out or for living purposes (self use) ?

😂 You still mentioned the potentials of AML/CFT checks on the transaction while trying to make it look normal... that's fine though if the source of the funds can be proven.

It would be a money mule situation when the purchaser is based in Nigeria and want to use a UK resident to funnel the funds for the transaction. The resident of course would be investigated for the source of funds which you adduced to.

Anyway... All the best 😂

koonbey:

Lol how is it automatically a money mule situation that someone abroad wants to buy property in the UK?

it's not that unusual. Specialist lenders offer this, although it's usually at the level of HNIs financing high-end properties.

Obviously the lender will run stricter AML/CFT checks but if the money is clean fundamentally the mortgage is still a low risk transaction for the lender given the house is the security.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by bigtt76(f): 8:27am On Oct 20, 2023
Don't get me wrong, I said potentially which means if you or the facilitator can provide proofs to the lenders or banks of the source of funds, then you have nothing to offer.

My post was based on my assumption that the facilitator in the UK might not be the owner of the funds which might place the person under the radar of a potential money mule.

No mind me o, I'm just being careful and try to pass it on to others 😂... All the best bro 🙌🏾🙏🏾💪🏾

triplo3:

I don’t get. Can’t people with legitimate means of livelihood (e.g working in oil & gas) buy property abroad. I know people who have bought properties in SA, Dubai, USA but to name a few. So because of AML murky waters someone that has income/network in Naira can’t diversify their portfolio. Let’s be open-minded please. If you don’t have the answer, no problem. I’m seeking experience people that have gone through the route legitimately. In fact, all I’m asking for is choice location or strategy for the property market in this country. Thanks and God bless

Why are you pushing this sef? It all has the potentials of landing both the facilitator and investor in the AML murky waters ....don't be a money mule!!

Ancestors,

Someone in Nigeria is trying to buy property in UK. They’re willing to pay the >25% deposit for a mortgage. Target is to preserve capital, gain equity, get good ROI from a rentals etc. Strategic location to ensure long term value. House or flat. What’s the best approach? Any advise. Thank you in advance.

Direct debits are payments set up to debit your bank account on a monthly basis. What you have with Duolingo is probably a recurring card payment which is triggered annually. This is not suitable for what you want.

Lool at placing your house rent, contract only sim payment, utility bills like council tax, water or electricity on direct debits.

They dont even regard Ondo people as anything. If they do, this barefaced lies wont be told. In the entire Ondo State, there is no single house that can accommodate Governor Akeredolu? Is that what they want Ondo people to believe? What is happening in Ondo is similar to what happened during Yar Adua's illness. Immediately Jonathan was made Acting President and reshuffled the cabinet of Yar Adua, the cabals brought him back so that his presence will serve as a check on Jonathan. But nobody ever saw him till he died eventually. I wish Akeredolu good health, however he shouldn't allow cabal run the State. He has a Deputy.

The Visa officer knows it is cheaper for the company to organise that training in Nigeria than for you to travel to the UK. The risk is too high for them to allow you into their country. Besides that the letter from the supposed trainer doesn't look genuine....school boy errors spotted. Techies don't use the term 'class' when it comes to software training ....they use bootcamp and other keywords to describe it cheesy

Did you attach your company's bank statement to show the inflow of transactions from her banks, telcos etc clients?

Saviourplease:

Yes, I did get a letter from the trainee.

The company (offering the training) is a global OEM with a market cap of 40 billion USD.
