Hey Joyglo,
Are you not the same lady that came her to tell us she wants to go on a thrilling getaway with one Italian man that's interested in clearing all her tuition of about £14,500?

Are you now moving on with the fellow? You didn't update us again or is this the update?

Can't recall, but please correct me if I'm totally wrong.

a few days ago, I noticed a thin black line on right side of my iPhone XR's screen, and I also saw recently that the line is longer than before. I tried to take a screenshot, but it does not appear in the photo. I tried to restart the phone and had my software update, but it's still there. What seems to be the problem?
This problem started when I changed the charger could that be the issue

Wow ...I always advise people to include a return envelope label that can easily be tracked and protected to avoid issues such as this. Have you contacted your local post office? On the process for the BRP re-issue, hope you went through the gov.uk website though and yes its like re-applying for a fresh visa. They would need to recapture your biometrics to confirm you genuinely had one issued you before.

Wking:
My People, I applied for a provisional license, but failed to do a return label for my brp card It has been over three months, and I have not received my Brp card. I am considering applying for a new one, and I've paid £19 for a standard application and I was directed to a new third-party link that is requesting £245 to book an appointment. This seems like a rip-off, and I'm feeling frustrated. Can anyone provide guidance on this process?

everything is also looking like i am applying for a fresh Visa. cry cry cry

No you won't be asked to present a proof of address. Yes you can use the same address used during your initial application. Note that once you get your own address, you are meant to update UKVI with that new address.

broglie:
Good morning everyone, please I want to know if I will be asked for proof of address when applying for my husband's dependent visa. I have been in the UK for five months under the healthcare visa but I live in a different city from where my employer is.

Should I use the address I used during my application which is my employer's address for him? Please help me if you have done this before.

Souzin:
Honestly don't know what to title this thread.

Well, I never thought I'd japa any time soon from this country until recently.

The plan to japa was presented to me by my cousin, who will sponsor the entire thing but it has to be an affordable university < €10,000 for fees

Now, I have been trying to get Information on where one can go study for cheaps in Europe with less stringent visa application process.

Most the information/thread on Nairaland are either old or abandoned.

Please, I'd appreciate any information, especially from those who recently travelled or are in the process of travelling.

Makes a whole lot of sense because na retirement, person de plan for now ....any experience garnered now, would be geared into switching to private sector consultancy cheesy. Thank you so much for this very insightful response, I appreciate it.

Schoolhike:

I understand your considerations regarding the civil service and the NHS. If sponsorship isn't an issue, I would indeed recommend the civil service route. The flexibility to switch departments or roles within the civil service is an advantage. There are often new roles advertised weekly, and internal mobility within departments is quite common, offering a variety of experiences and growth opportunities.

NHS also offers valuable experiences, especially in public health and administration, the pay scale can be a bit limiting compared to civil service roles, which Is one of the reason I don’t like NHS (although NHS Scotland pays more ), civil service jobs often provide more flexibility in terms of work arrangements, such as hybrid work options, which might not be as prevalent in NHS roles.

Regarding compensation, a role in the government that pays around £50k can be equivalent to nearly £69k in the private sector when you consider long-term benefits like employer pension contributions. The government's contribution to pensions is significantly higher than the average private sector contributions, which hover around 3-8%, compared to the government's 26-28%.

all in all, a civil service role not only offers a broad range of experiences that are highly valued in various sectors, including consulting, but also provides substantial long-term financial benefits and work flexibility, this could definitely enhance your career trajectory and provide you with a strong foundation to transition into higher roles, even within the NHS later on, if that aligns with your career aspirations.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by bigtt76(f): 9:04am On Nov 18, 2023
What are the possible experiences one can get from civil service here? Any idea? I know that once one get a civil service experience, it improves ones chance more in other sectors especially with big consulting firms or isn't this the case?

I would love the NHS opportunity though but the way is lower than the civil service job and a bit far away from home which could disrupt many things and plans😩. I'm hoping that with the civil service job after it lapses, I could get a shot at the NHS on a higher band.

I appreciate all your thoughts on this.... Pls 🙌🏾🙏🏾

Schoolhike:

the decision should align with your personal and professional priorities, If financial gain and a broad range of experiences in a short term are more appealing, the SEO Civil Service job might be the better choice, if you prefer job stability and a career in healthcare, the Band 6 NHS position could be more suitable, consider also the work environment, team culture, and opportunities for future progression in each role.

Less job security in Civil service roles(cos it’s fixed term) but offer a broad range of experiences, which might be valuable for your future career moves,

PDP wasted too much time to realise this. ACN discovered this long time ago and brought together ANPP and CPP into their folds to get to power in 2015. It would have ever need a new candidate to head that coalition in the next election for it to succeed.

I keep saying we need to respect our hustles. No profession is useless to the person doing it so far as it brings food to the table and help clear bills. Having said this, support and care jobs are much more than what it is portrayed. I have listened to people paint it bad before others but remain in it. Others have painted it rosy... At the end it all boils down to you seeking employment to do your research on what you want or what you don't want.

On the rent issue, like the care and support issue, it's just a friendly advice to not be too comfortable doing things temporarily but rather work towards self-sustenance in our lives.

An IT Professional from Nigeria now doing care or support or factory jobs to make ends meet for example should not try to make it permanent (except that's their preference though). Same with paying rent... You can't continue paying £1500 every month for years, aim at getting your own place if you can. That's all... Friendly advice we shouldn't be tearing head over 🤷🏿‍♀️🙌🏾

The restrictions you mentioned do not apply to skilled worker dependant visa
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by bigtt76(f): 1:03pm On Nov 13, 2023
Yes but I thought its optional to formally apply for a dependent despite adding him or her to the application?

I'm asking this because of the perceived restrictions on additional work time while on the skilled worker visa and also setting up a business compared to the post study work visa which kind of allow all of these without restrictions.

Thanks for your response though.

Goke7:

I doubt because since they were both on an initial visa which is student visa, any new application they make, as they are filling the form either the psw or skill worker, the system will ask about the dependant.

I hail ...please I would like to ask the following,

Aside the the count down to ILR,

1. What are the advantages of having a Skilled Worker Visa vs Post Study Work Visa?
2. Can a couple split having the Skilled Worker Visa and Post Study Work Visa among themselves? For example spouse goes on Skilled Worker Visa while hubby goes on Post Study?

Your insights would be very much appreciated. kiss
