Very baffling how complicated and restrictive Nigeria's visa process is. Don't they need/want immigrants and all the immense value they bring?

You have come this far, me I would gladly pay them £1000 for that replacement and get things sorted out fast. But hopefully you can get some better suggestion or you can try checking through his documents offline and online to see if you can find any clue. All the best.

Hi Guys, please a quick question for those who have become british citizens through the spousal visa route. My husband is british and having obtained my ILR last year , i was now planning to apply for citizenship. The form is asking for my husband naturalisation certificate number. My husband became a citizen since 2014, so he literally replaced his certificate. We also don’t want to pay 500 for a replacement, so i was wondering if i could put in a value like N/A in the response and just suit his british passport alongside other documents.


I really wonder why they would ask for this certificate number and not passport number. Someone who has a passport surely definitely acquired a certificate at some point

In addition to what Goke mentioned, you might have to look at the option of going back home weekly (reduce your 2 weeks stay to 1 week each on-site rota) this way you only have one week of food to manage (assuming you bring in bulk food from home) and can store in fridges at work. Moving family from north to London may have its own cost equivalent to what you currently spend in terms of accommodation. You can also decide to live lean while in the hostel by not cooking own food but feed on prepared English foods you can get from Tesco or Sainsburys, they cost less I think.

Thank you. The challenge with hostels is that most don't allow cooking or don't have fridge.

Money for more airports (airstrips), stadiums, sponsorship for hajj, mass Islamic weddings, wheelbarrows, distribution of modern kasankes, shoe shining boxes, uniforms for agberos, flyovers, 1000 special assistants & assistants to special assistants and other frivolous spendings 🤣

Non of the states would think of ways to build more low-cost housings or collaborate with neighbouring states to develop their rail transport system or improve health are or power supply or potable water 😌

I need help guys. I work in London but my family is based up North. My work allows me to do 2 weeks WFH and 2 weeks onsite every month. I live in a rented apartment paying £650 in London but only stay there for 2 weeks when onsite. In fact, there were months that I didn't stay at all but still paid rent. I need to reduce cost as this is not sustainable as I'm also paying rent in the North. I wouldn't mind room sharing or any other recommendations please.

Very true. I remember Aero doing same back in the days when they sell those incredibly cheap tickets and when you get to the airport, they tell you flight don full. At a point I took to sleeping at the airport overnight in addition to checking in online, to beat this. 😂

All airline in Nigeria are like that. I know you might dislike oshiomole cos he is a politician and in APC but those airlines own don too much.

If you are a regular flyer, you wld know what I am talking about. They postpone flight, they delay flight and sometimes even cancel flights with impunity without even caring about the passengers if they have appointments to catch with it if it's an emergency.

See, almost everybody is wicked and corrupt in this Nigeria. Imagine delaying people's flight that booked online only to now start selling the tickets to highest bidder

Hello Guys, let me first of all say the cliché "It is well".

Now let we start.
I met my wife years back just before the COVID-19 year during which we dated for almost a year and then eventually got married just when the lock down was reducing. I started this story this way because I wanted to emphasis that during that period, we had so much time to bond and she was mostly available to me as she only worked on shifts 2 to 3 days per week.
We could sit and talk for long, go out at late nights and have great s*x as frequently as we needed.

This I think gave me a mirage of an anticipated marriage life so I didn't hesitate to take it a step further ones the lockdown was relaxed.
I also made it clear to her that her job would have to give way when their kids start coming as I had plans to assist her further her edu and also put up a biz for her.

Speed up to after COVID-19, she resumed work which till this day demands 5 days a week and 2 to 3 Saturdays per month all from 7:45am till 5pm. Often times she'd return home tired and would manage to make dinner and off to bed till the next day circle continues.
It became worse when we started having children. I drive them to school as early as 7:40am before dropping her off at her job. And then I'll pick them up by 5:30pm or 6pm when she's done with her job for the day (let me mention that this extends to public holidays and school holidays or breaks).

I got tired and in December 2025 I told her she has to quit the job. My plan was to enroll her back into a private school after my kids are Upto 4 years as one of them still depends on breast milk. I also gave her the option of starting a business which I understand is a dynamic move and might not be successful, but at this stage of my life it's something I could afford to risk and so I didn't mind.

I must also mention that out of a 100% sex, 50% is not mutual as I could sense she isn't interested and 40% is a denial as she would rather deny me of s*x with the excuse that she is tired.

Simply put, I'm tired.
I'm a Christian and divorce isn't an option. Also I can't cheat, but I am starved of s*x and my kids are not given the attention they deserve.
Pls advice me

Good evening nairalands, please who can explain this to me, as I am tonally scared and confused. I started charging this phone when I got home from work say around to eight. Because I slept early after taking dinner, only to wake up now and went straight to the parlor to check my phone qhere I was charging it. First I notice this smell when an electronic device is buring or has burned, I quickly checked my PC and unplug it and I went straight to my phone saw it was just 60% and was not charging but I saw that the charger was smelling so I unplug and perceive the phone n the odour was every strong. Only to check the back and I saw this. I quickly check the charger with my wife's phone also A16 Samsung and it was working. I later test it again with my phone n was working pls what would have caused these. Picture of the phone and charger below.
