I have been monitoring the arguments btw pro GEJ lead by sincer9gerian and pro ACN lead by koruji over who's project is the lagos cctv is!
From my personal obeservation the CCTV system(it involves a solar system,a radio,an antenna and camera) I have seen all over lagos presently can not be more than 500 and probably being monitor from the alausa control center....so none of u guys argument is tallying.

My understanding is its a project coloboration btw FG and LSG in which the FG gave out d contract to provide d cameras and since LSG already has a control center that also handles its 767 and 112 emergencies and with few other cctv already installed its logical to streamline both the FG CCTVs and LSG to one monitoring center.....I may be wrong! So Its only d guys incharge that can give d correct information and datas.

No wonder the recent bank robbery on thursday at zenith bank abule egba was foiled in mins and the whole eight robbers fully armed arrested,

The Joint Task Force in Borno State says 52 members of the dreaded Islamic sect the Boko Haram were killed in a clash with security forces yesterday in Maiduguri the state capital.

The success is coming just one day after the president; Dr Goodluck Jonathan had lavished praises on the JTF for its gallantry in the fight against the menace of the Boko Haram during his two day official visit to Borno state.

A statement made available to newsmen in Maiduguri the Borno State capital by the JTF spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa reveals that JTF lost two personnel in the operation carried out between 3:00 and 8:00 PM yesterday around Bulabulin, Bayern quarters and Jajeri areas of Maiduguri metropolis.

The operation according to the statement was based on information and intelligent report leading to series of operations for the past ten days.

During the operation which witnessed stiff resistance yesterday by the insurgents according to the statement, ten out of the 52 killed are commanders of the insurgent, while three personnel of the security forces sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Yesterday’s operation according to Sagir Musa recorded the largest arms recovery ever made by the JTF since the commencement of the insurgency.

Items recovered include 3 anti-aircraft guns, 10 Rocket Propelled Grenade Tubes, 3 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and 17 AK 47 Rifles.

Others include; 20 RPG Bombs, 12 RPG chargers, 36 hand-held grenades, 33 AK47 magazines, 11 FN magazines and 11,068 assorted Ammunitions.

The operation according to the statement also led to the recovery of two technical vehicles with mounted anti-aircraft stands, five walkie-talkies, 4 VHF hand held sets and assorted uniforms and kits among others.

The statement also thanked members of the public and JTF moles in the Boko Haram camp for the timely information and asking other people to do same in the fight against the sects.

SportsSunshine Fc Recieves 210 Million Naira Offer For Oboabana by billante(op): 9:21pm On Feb 21, 2013
Oboabona was one of the revelations of the Nigerian squad at AFCON 2013
The management of Sunshine Football International Club on Thursday denied a media report that it had placed a 1 million Euro price tag on its African Nations cup winning defender, Godfrey Oboabona.

The Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, the body in charge of the state owned football teams, Segun Adagunodo, made this rebuttal in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Clarifying the development, he said what the club had was an offer of 1 million Euro from one of the top flight teams in Ukraine, saying the club in conjunction with the marketer appointed for the player is still studying the offer.

Adagunodo explained that the offer from Ukraine was one of the various offers so far received over the talented central defender as many other teams had shown interest in the player.
He said, “It was a misconception on the part of the journalist that spoke with me, what I actually said was that an offer of one million Euro came from one of the Eastern European countries, specifically Ukraine and I told the person that we are still studying it because an offer for Godfrey Oboabona will have to be taken with due consultations with our consultant, Mr. Emman Obichi, who has been appointed to manage him on behalf of sunshine, we cannot go behind him and start giving offer, that is the true situation”.

He added that other offers that were not up to 1million Euro had come from various clubs before the Ukrainian team came up with its offer, saying this however might not be the last offer to be received by foreign clubs over the defender.

The implication of studying the offer is that it is still possible that the club has a higher offer because we have had some that came up with 500, 000 Euro, 750, 000 Euro before that of 1 million Euro, so it is still possible we have a higher offer from some other clubs,” he said.

Oboabona played full 90 minutes in all the six matches Nigeria played at the Nations Cup in South Africa.

kenis: They should do something about this road: Enugu - Makurdi expressway i.e. 9th mile - Makurdi road.
This road needs to be dualized. It is the only roa leading to UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA NSUKKA. Whether you going from the east or going from the north, to the university, you must pass that road.
That road has taken too much live. I thing Senator Ayogu Eze promised he would press FG to do that road after he witnessed a serious accident on that road. Just google ''accident on 9th mile - makurdi express way'' or 'accident on Enugu - makurdi expressway' and see the result.

If they take every road at the same time do you think they will complete any!....there is something that is called priority! beside that road u mentioned is being totally resurfaced by ferma contractor, they have done about 72km out of the whole 90km of the road.

dualizing road doesn't stop accident even though it might reduce it....drivers should stop over speeding and drive safely....dats wat eradicate accident

PoliticsCBN/Bankers Commitee Reduces C.O.T To 3 Naira by billante(op): 9:51am On Feb 13, 2013
The Bankers Committee has said Deposit Money Banks in the country have agreed to reduce all bank charges in order to enhance financial inclusion.

As a first step, the committee has already endorsed the downward review of the Commission on Turnover charged current account holders from N5 on every N1,000 withdrawn to N3.

The approval of the reduction was announced after the committee’s meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja.

The meeting, which lasted for about five hours, was attended by the CBN Governor, Mr. Lamido Sanusi; top executives of Deposit Money Banks as well as other senior officials of the CBN.

The Director, Banking Supervision, CBN, Mrs. Tokunbo Martins, addressed journalists on the outcome of the meeting.

She was accompanied by the Managing Directors, Access Bank Plc, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede; Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Godwin Emefiele; Stanbic IBTC, Mr. Yinka Sanni; and Director, Corporate Communications, CBN, Mr. Ugochukwu Okoroafor.

Aig-Imoukhuede said working with the CBN; the committee was working on unveiling soon the guidelines for the review of other bank charges.

He said the reduction became imperative since many people now used banking services owing to the financial inclusion strategy of the CBN.

He said, “With financial inclusion, more and more people are using bank services and, therefore, more and more people are becoming used to the concept of bank charges and so on, which hitherto perhaps, did not use this service.

“So, working with the central bank, we are also going to come up with a new guide, but of course; bank charges cannot stop, especially when you are providing value, but they will come down.

“One of them, for example, is that in 2013, we are going to move from N5 per mill to N3 per mill on Commission on Turnover, and gradually that will continue to reduce.”

Aig-Imoukhuede said the economy had begun to feel the benefits of the shared services initiative of the DMBs.

For instance, he said that in terms of earnings, total operating income of Nigerian banks decreased from N1.6tn in 2011 to N1.4tn in 2012.

He also said the total operating expenses for the industry fell from N1.6tn to N1tn within the same period.

Based on this, the Access Bank boss said, “The profits you see are not profits made by increasing charges, but profits made from a reduced cost of operations.”

Aig-Imoukhuede also said the committee had chosen Borno State for the pilot project of the financial inclusion strategy.

He said the state was chosen for a number of reasons.

Some of them are the high number of women that have been financially excluded from banking services, the high poverty rate and insecurity situation in the state.

He pointed out that the banking industry would create the much needed infrastructure to drive the electronic banking programme in the state, adding that this was the only viable means of increasing access to banking services to the people.

Aig-Imoukhuede also revealed plans to make available cheap credit to the people to boost agriculture in the state, adding that once the initiative succeeded in the state, it would be replicated in other parts of the country.

On the customer biometric project, Emefiele said the committee had fixed a take-off date of July for its commencement.

He said, “We discussed the customer identity management project at this meeting. We set up a committee last year comprising nine financial institutions on how to boost consumer credit to Nigerians.

“We do not have a databank where we can access the information of bank customers and we say setting up this committee will help build a database through a biometric project.”

According to him, the project will enable all bank customers to have a unique biometric identification number that will allow all the banks to see the information of the customer regardless of whether he has an account with them or not.

“Once you have that unique number and you go to bank ‘B’ from ‘A’ to open an account, once you just show that number, an account will automatically be opened for you,” Emefiele said.

He said owing to the unique number, it would be easy for banks to do businesses with their customers.

The Zenith Bank boss also said the cash-less policy, which was piloted in Lagos, would soon be extended to major cities in the country.

CFCfan: Erm.. Ideally, the Super Eagles have to be in Brazil at least 4 days to the tournament. The Namibia match takes place 3 days before Nigeria's opening match. The players would definitely be exhausted after playing on the 14th, boarding a flight for the long trip to South America on the 15th; then effectively having just one day of rest before matchday.
They can manage, they are professionals....a chartered flight can take them immidately after the namibia match to brazil!

European teams some times play like 4 matches under 10 days and still play at top strenght! It is professionally managed!
SportsRe: Super Eagles Very Busy Schedule Ahead by billante(op): 6:38pm On Feb 11, 2013
CFCfan: I think the match against Namibia will be rescheduled because of it's closeness to the Confederations Cup. That game will likely be played in August.
It doesn't need to be resheduled....actually nigeria needs that match to be in top shape to kickoff their championship! kind of a friendly match.....because europe will be on break by dat time and most players will be unfit cause they will only be doing indoor fitness training with their wives and Gfs then!

PoliticsShoprite Enters Anambra As Obi Lays Foundation For $30m Mall by billante(op): 8:58pm On Feb 09, 2013
South African retail chain, Shoprite has entered Anambra State in South East, Nigeria as it moves to open for business in many parts of the state, beginning with Onitsha, the state’s commercial capital.

Anambra is the fourth state Shoprite is opening shop in after Lagos, Kwara and Enugu.

Peter Obi, the Anambra State governor, laid the foundation in Onitsha recently for the construction of the shopping mall that is estimated to cost about $30 million.

The mall which will be sitting on 15,000 squares of land will be located beside the Onitsha Hotel and Convention Centre with enough space for the level of commercial activities the mall will expectedly attract.

Shoprite is expected to serve as the anchor tenant in the mall.

The project, according to a source close to the state government, is a joint venture between African Capital Alliance, a private equity firm, and the state government under the public private partnership (PPP) arrangement.

Governor Obi explained that the project was in line with his commitment to the transformation of Anambra State, which, according to him, included returning Onitsha to its past glory as the number one commercial city in Nigeria, hosting the biggest market in West Africa.

The Governor promised to provide facilities to boost activities in the area, including dualisation of Park Road, the entrance into the complex.

Obi said that the foundation for two of such malls would also be laid in Awka and Nnewi.
