Car Talk / Corolla 2010(south Africa) Won't Shift Into 4th Gear by Billiodollars(f): 8:07pm On Mar 06, 2022
I have been having issues with my 2010 corolla for a long while now. It drives normally, reverses perfectly. The only issue is it doesn't change into the fourth gear and as such I can't drive pass 60kmph, if I do, the car will just keep reving upwards even up to 4000rpm and still no change. I attempted to give to a mechanic that said he know what the issue was and said it was electrical and he would also change the fiber and one other item. He did so, but in the process was arrested for stealing catalyst. Although he said he was done with his work, he coupled the gear half way while another mechanic finished coupling the shaft and engine seatings. After everything my gear was dead. Noise everywhere and problem still persisted. I was forced to get a new gear box few days ago. After fixing I notice the problem is still there in this new gear box prompting me to think that the issue isn't with the gear box but with something else.
Scan showed several codes but one I caught was VSS sensor faulty. I have changed the sensor mounted on the gear box before, even the new gear came with a new sensor. I dont seem to know what else to do. Someone suggested I change the four sensors on the hub of the tyres that it might also be the cause.
Gurus in the house, please assist me as its the car I use for bolt to manage myself in this country. And I'm getting tired of riders complaining I'm not moving fast and they are late for their flight. Anyone that has had such, please assist or if you know a good automatic tranny technician in port Harcourt kindly assist with his contact. Attached is a picture of the car and codes generated via the small scanner I used

Good morning pilots in the house, please anyone with an idea the cost of a transmission control module (gear brain box) for a 2004 Camry? Kazzem thinks mine it's faulty as it drives from gear 1 to 2 normally but moving to gear three it does as if the car wants to shut down (slows down) and after 3 secs revives itself back to normal transmission and moves. It's an automatic transmission. Pls has anyone experienced such. I am in phc so not confident of the kazeem's around here. What to get expert ideas B4 I opt for it's replacement on Monday

Good morning bosses in the house, I just got a mail from taxify/autogenuis on my car calling for a reinspection. What might be the issue to warrant it? Has anyone experienced such. Pls enlighten me.

Good morning elders in the house, is anyone experiencing issues with accepting and ending rides on bolt? It's been hard doing so here in PH, it would load like forever, yesterday had to be with a client for over 20mins before I could end the ride. I used every network possible yet still same outcome. Is it a general issue?

Thanks boss izzou for the reply. My clients cancel makes my activity always not rise above 95%. I don't know if most people are just testing the app then cancel when i pick. Its just strange on how the cancelation rate keepa dropping when i build it up. For now no active PH group so i stick to here for knowledge.

I will agree with that good man that advised you to buy big daddy instead of Lexus. My reason: I've seen many big daddies on the platform but I hardly see E330, there must be a reason for that
P.S. I drive a big daddy myself and I'm enjoying it. Just don't buy an abused car and you'll be okay

I wish to get big daddy but all i see in phc is V6. No 4 cylinder. Is it economical? Cos my loan is counting while i find 4 cylinder

Good to see the past post, was about asking that lexus e330 question this morning along side nissan optima. But i would jejely slide to my big daddy lane and rest.
Ph bolt trips havr reduced suspecting the fare increase have touched clients, most have returned to the indigenous company pamdrive in PHC. But anywhere belle face, we are there.

I got a ride, headed to the pick up point and called the lady that i was in the parking lot waiting, she said ok, no p. She spent extra 15mins and came down. Sat in the car and did a few chats for a min and said she wont want to take the trip again. That she wants to cancel the ride, i said aiit. Oya cancel she no gree, and me i dont want to cancel, she asked how much she would give me, i said anything. She said its transfer, that she doesn't havr cash. So i said not to worry. I waited for her to cancel no way. I had to start the ride and after 30seconds ended the ride and drove off. After i closed i checked and saw the ride was calculated at N500. Is that an error or was she meant to pay that for the driving to the pickup point plus waiting time? Pls advice b4 i contact her back with the screenshot.

Good morning Boss in the house. Please i need clarification on a few things. I just joined bolt/taxify PH yesterday and had a couple of rides. My first ride, the rider input a location and when we got there, it seems like its not where he wanted to go i.e he wasnt too familar with PHC well. I saw end trip but kept driving trying to help him locate were he wants to go. While doing that a new ride came in and i couldn't pick. It was later on the man described one landlark and i was able to know we were he meant to go. Miles behind me a diferent destination.
In such situations, is there a place i can input his correct destination and continue his trip or change his destination? Or would he be the one to do so?
My secind question for those on bolt, how do they charge drivers, how many % is their commission and how do they get it.

Thanks.
Anticipating a response while i continue the hustle
