phenase: Central Bank Of Nigeria SecurityGuard Arrested For Stealing Specimen Naira Currency Notes In Abuja
Vatasama Danladi, a security guard attached to the Central Bank of Nigeria has been arraigned for stealing specimen Naira currency notes.
Danladi got into trouble after he deposited the stolen specimen naira notes amounting to N299,000 at GTB ATM deposit machines in Karu and Mararaba sometime in January 2016.
He got into legal trouble when the bank found the 299 pieces of N1000 marked “specimen” during a process of cash count sometime in January. He appeared before Justice Kolo of Abuja High Court yesterday where he pleaded not guilty.
In view of his plea, counsel to EFCC, Andrew Akoja, urged the court to remand the accused and fix a date for trial.

Politics › Re: Diezani’s Slush Cash: Wike Ordered Me To Collect N700m From Bank – PDP Scribe by billyG(m): 4:16pm On May 21, 2016 |
Caseless: The detained Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Samuel Johnson Okpoko, has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that he collected N700million poll bribery cash from Fidelity Bank on the instruction of Governor Nyesom Wike.
But while Okpoko will soon be charged to court, the anti-graft agency might put the invitation of the governor on hold because of constitutional immunity. The immunity, however, does not prevent the EFCC from investigating the allegation against the governor and keeping vital information for his trial after his tenure. According to a source in EFCC, Okpoko admitted that he collected the cash in two tranches at Trans Amadi branch of Fidelity Bank Plc in Port Harcourt.
The source said: “Operatives of the EFCC, have grilled the Rivers State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr. Samuel Johnson Okpoko , for collecting N700million from the controversial $115milloon lodged with Fidelity Bank Plc, by the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke. “Okpoko, who was the Rivers state’s PDP campaign coordinator in the 2015 Presidential Election collected the sum of N700 million in two tranches of N600 million and N100 million respectively at the Trans Amadi branch of Fidelity Bank Plc, Port- Harcourt. Investigations by the EFCC revealed that Okpoko cashed N600 million on March 27 and N100 million on March 31,2015.
“Explaining how he became involved, Okpoko said he was instructed by the then PDP governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike to go to the branch of Fidelity Bank to cash some money there.
The source quoted Okpoko as saying: “I was with my governor in his house sometime 27th day of March 2015, when he got a call and Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike after the phone call told me that the call was from Fidelity Bank and they have some money for him”. But Special Assistant to Governor Wike on electronic media, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, said: “We are not aware of what you talked about in your text message” He said Okpoko was already in the custody of the EFCC and would be charged to court soon.
Responding to a question, the source said: “Since the governor enjoys immunity by virtue of Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution, we cannot invite Nyesom Wike now for interrogation on the allegation by Okpoko. “This however does not prevent the EFCC from probing issues connected with the payment of the N700million and asking for refund from the beneficiaries.” Section 308 of the constitution reads in part: “Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this constitution but subject to sub-section 2 of this section- (a) no civil or criminal proceedings shall be instituted or continued against a person to whom this section applies during his period of office; (b) a person to whom this section applies shall not be arrested or imprisoned during that period either on pursuance of the process of any court or otherwise; and (c ) no process of any court requiring or compelling the appearance of a person to whom this section applies, shall be applied for or issued.”

PapaBrowne: Story story. If someone gets nearly zero as GPA in his first year, the likelihood of even making a third class eventually is diminished by the fact that he has to resit a lot if classes. Hence no matter how hard he tries, failure is the most likely outcome. Now that is for those with the brain capacity to attempt a success.
Buhari has failed woefully in his first year. Sadly he doesn't even have the brain capacity to attempt a success I'm the remaining 3 years. My prediction is that he probably would be booted out before 2019. I dnt know how u kids think,some1 who build d 3 existing Refineries & did well in PTF u are wishing him failure? His failure is nigeria failure. |

greatiyk4u: The major issue here is that it is very difficult to control and even manage a stark illiterate of different religion, culture and ethnicity...........these guys spend major parts of their lives in the bush with animals, this alone has subjected them to an absurd orientation about life and the society.
Painfully, the real owners of these animals they rear are in the Northern cities enjoying peaceful life while they direct their boys to go and cause havoc elsewhere.
Fulani herdsmen are troublesome in nature, they listen only to their kinsmen and women
I think I agree with some of the points you guys raised here especially, relocating the Fulani herdsmen to Sambisa forest todo their permanent grazing there since the chief of army staff claimed that Sambisa is larger than Enugu state.
The fencing of farmlands is not a bad option but believe me these fulani's will surely destroy the fence intentionally whenever they want to destroy a farmland in addition to the cost.
It won't be a bad idea if a special chemical in the form of herbicide that will be harmful to the cattles is created for farmers in these troubled areas........this will automatically scare them away once they experience mass death of their cattles..................many villagers in Enugu have tried this option using Garmalin 40 So that d villagers will feed on the d dead cattle left behind & die abi?cow meat is Tempting even to nnamdi kanu. |

bejeiodus: The statement was well worded. It was a euphemic way of announcing the removal of fuel subsidy. It is so disheartening that we would have long gone past this if today's proponents of subsidy removal had not opposed the policy four years ago. I hope Nigerians can see clearly how they were fed lies to stir up their anger against Jonathan. It is the way to go, but Nigerians need to ask those who came up with the policy why they resisted the removal four years ago. The APC must apologize to Nigerians, particularly families of those who lost their lives during the subsidy protests. It is the only way of showing contrition for misleading millions of people. ****was APC in existence then? |

Reyginus: Is this a joke or what? How did invitation became a permanent residence? Truth is, whether he's guilty or not, to the dumb populace he's guilty. That's the new low we're stuck in. Once your name is mentioned alongside some amount of money you are already guilty.
And there are also the morally incapacitated who call those who stick to the rule of law supporters of corruption. An emerging and powerful group of poor minded intellectuals who call you a supporter of corruption for questioning the logic that makes a person who's not been found guilty guilty.
The easiest way to ruin the reputation of anyone now is to mention his name in a money scandal. By default he's guilty. But these set of people, that is, who label every one guilty once charged, are truly the corrupt ones. Their thinking have been corrupted by their poor understanding of the law. These ones need help. Think of d stolen money & 4get all those sentimental trash. |
