BusinessRe: Total: We Have Injected $10bn Into Nigeria’s Economy by Billygene: 7:10am On Jul 30, 2018
chidima2019:
Total E&P Nigeria Limited has put the value of its total investment in the Nigerian economy in the last five years at $10 billion.

The Executive General Manager, CSR, Mr. Vincent Nnadi, said this at the Total Business Sustenance for New Entrepreneurs Graduation ceremony that took place in Abuja.

Nnadi, in an interview, disclosed that the oil and gas conglomerate was also planning projects worth $16 billion and plans to use mostly local skills and talents in order to continue its fight against unemployment.

“We have for the first time recorded a high level of local content on this project and 77 per cent of it is fabricated in Nigeria,” Nnadi explained.

“It is a very large contribution to the economy and will be using local expertise.

“We have a very strong cooperative social responsibility.

“We have to support our society to progress by helping to solve some of the societal problem. One of these major problems is the issue of unemployment.”

On the skills acquisition training in conjunction with Toncia Energy Consulting and Professional Services Limited, Nnadi said the company would be monitoring the trainees to ensure smooth transitioning from training to practice.

“This is the second level of skills training we are doing. The first level was basic skill acquisition.

“We mentor them and will expose them backing them up with microfinance.

“We are also working with some banks to financially support some of the best business plans and even creating market opportunities for them.

“We will continue to monitor them along with Toncia Energy to make sure they are actually practicing what they have studied.”

One of the trainees of the program, Christiana Titus, expressed her gratitude to Total.
President Muhammadu Buhari says the federal government signed the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the World bank and Switzerland to lift people out of poverty.

President Buhari made this known at the inception meeting of the Mantra project on asset recover and development in Nigeria by Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ in collaboration with World bank and Switzerland government.
The President, who was represented at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Justice sector reform, Barr. 2019: The Real Reason Igbos ‘ll Massively Vote For Buhari – Orji Kalu Reveals

Former of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has assured his party members that come 2019 election, there must be a change of party in Abia state. He said that PDP has failed the people of Abia State and its time for the masses to come together and send them back home. He also revealed that President Buhari loves Ndigbo because he is doing what former presidents Obasanjo, late Yaradua and Goodluck Jonathan could not do for Ndi Igbo when they ruled the country.

Kalu stated this today during a meeting with top APC stakeholders in Abia state held at his Igbere country home, Camp Neya.

According to him…

” Come rain, come shine, there must be a change of party in Abia. Abia belongs to APC because we can’t be where our President is not. Our party is committed to free education, we are committed to paying pensioners their their money, we are committed to free health care, we are committed to all those things because they are things that make democracy to be.”

“It painful that Abia State government cannot pay workers their salary, they can’t pay secondary and primary schools teachers their salary. They cannot pay pensioners what is due to them. That’s not what modern democracy stands for. Modern democracy stands for equity, justice, fairness.”

” I was governor for 8 years, we paid civil servants their salaries, we paid local government workers their salaries, we paid pensioners and everybody what is due for them. ”

“Modern democracy no longer operates in our state and it’s very sad. That’s why APC has come to save our people. The power to make this happen depend on you people. Go and get your voters card to change this PDP government in our state.”

“When you elect people during the primaries into various positions, whether as governor or House of Representatives or Senator, you should elect people that will be able contend with these people base on popularity and capability, so that our people will not suffer again. ”

” When you elect people who are not qualified, because they gave you money, you will suffer for it for good four years. So, don’t make mistakes by electing people who will embezzle your money

“President Buhari is doing a lot of work which PDP didn’t do in their 16 years of ruling this country. The second Niger Bridge is being constructed by him, this shows that he is competent to rule this country.”

“Our South East governors promised to build the second Niger Bridge but they didn’t do it . Obasanjo promised and failed. Goodluck Jonathan promised to do it but he did not care to build the bridge for Ndigbo. I don’t know why people will say that Buhari hates the Igbos because I know Buhari very well. He is a friend to Ndigbo. Am I not friend to President Buhari? I am very close to Buhari and I know that come 2019 election, Abia State will give President Buhari 75 percent of their votes “.

Kalu also said that the hate speech on the social media needs to stop because it is making Nigeria to look like a bad nation.

” No matter how bad the country is, Nigeria remains our country and there is no other place we can run to. President Buhari doesn’t have house in America or Germany. He only has a house in Daura and we should respect him him for that, we should stop calling our leaders names on social media and painting our country bad before the world.”

PoliticsRe: $322m Abacha Loot: List Of States To Receive Cash In July by Billygene: 12:21pm On Jun 29, 2018
The Federal Government says it will commence disbursement of the recovered 322 million dollars Abacha loot through Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) to 302,000 poor households in 19 states in July.

Tukur Rumar, of the National Cash Transfer Office (NTCO), disclosed this at a roundtable on assets recovery organised by the Swiss Embassy on Thursday, in Abuja.

The states include: Niger, Kogi, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Kwara, Cross River, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarrawa, Anambra and Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDPs) in Borno.

According to Rumar, the benefiting households will receive N5,000 monthly.

Mr Iorwa Apera, the National Coordinator, National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO), said 503,055 households were already on the NSR register from the 19 states, adding that by July, there would be a social register for all the states of the federation.

“The Federal Government would begin with those states, because they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NASSCO to put in place certain infrastructure to empower the national register.

“Some of the states delayed, but the other ones were quick enough to set up infrastructure that allowed us to start work there, but all the states are now on board as they have set up their state operating offices and donated office equipment to us.

“As states come on board, we enroll and so they extend to the beneficiary register, and presently we are generating data in all the states now,’’ he said.

BusinessRe: Naira Gains As CBN Injects $210m Into FX Market by Billygene: 7:11am On Jun 21, 2018
Mrakeli:
The naira appreciated to N359.5 to a dollar on the parallel market yesterday, compared with the N360 to a dollar it closed on Tuesday.

Also, on the Investors’ and Exporters’ (I&E) window, the nation’s currency strengthened to N361.06 to the dollar, as against the N361.18 to the dollar it closed the previous day.

On the Bureau De Change (BDC) segment, the naira closed at N360 to a dollar yesterday.

This is just as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), once more, made available the sum of $210 million, to meet customers’ requests in various segments of the foreign exchange market.

In its desire to meet customers’ needs in the various segments of the market, the CBN offered $100 million to authorised dealers in the wholesale segment of the market, while the small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) segment got boosted with the sum of $55 million.

According to figures made available by the bank yesterday, customers needing foreign exchange for invisibles such as tuition fees, medical payments and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), among others, were also allocated the sum of $55 million.

The CBN had last Thursday intervened to the tune of $343.06 million to cater for requests in the retail segment of the forex market.

FamilyRe: Issues In My Marriage by Billygene: 4:41am On Apr 20, 2012
Ivynwa: This post is missing some elements.
The way it started showed that there's no good relationship between poster and her sister in laws. Why isn't there peace and love (same love that you have for your own sisters) between you and your SILS? If they are not as mature as you are,it isn't impossible to exercise patience with them and cunningly yet wisely get all of you to be on friendly terms. It will be a lovely thing if you and those SILS are great friends that gist, relates good, share and laugh etc

If you are in good/sweet terms with those girls, it won't irk you one bit that they take food from the pot without telling you first. The reason that got to you is because there is animosity going on already. It is not healthy to have such persons that you are not on good terms with in your home in the first place, as she is your SIL and should you have made effort to relate good and did not succeed with that you can't refuse her entrance in her brother's house but you shouldn't have allowed her get to you to that extent knowing that it will all go down if you do. See the mess (the brewing animosity between you and the SIL)caused, you were so caught up with putting her in her position and paying her back in her animosity coins that you all mashed on your marriage which you should have guarded against.

I am sure that when your sister or your mother or your mother-in-law are in your house that they don't come running to take permission to get food. Why do your SILS need to come and get permission to get food? How about if the person is very hungry and you gave such a portion that wasn't enough, I guess the person should return to you and tell you that she wants some more food. When they come visiting on a day you are at work or out of the house, shouldn't they eat? Should they come and tell you at work or call you first to let you know that they want to eat? How does that make you feel being in such mundane/trifle control of ordinary food? Do they have to tell you when they want water and juice too? Why not? These girls may have been visiting your husband/their brother when you were not married to him and may have cooked and served themselves, now that you are married to their brother do you have to alienate them like that? Put yourself in their position and see whether you will like to be treated like that.

I am not supporting the way your husband is getting on with it if he got violent on you. I am not supporting that your sister in law should do "don't u know who we are" for you. You just didn't handle things good and they got out of hand, so tell me how will all of you be looking like talking to relatives(called to be peacemakers) and getting on and on about-------"She went and took food without telling me"---"She stopped eating my food"------"Husband collected the food and gave to her to feed so and so"-----"They were lying on my bed" etc etc (if you are friends with them, you all can chill on your bed and chat and laugh and it won't matter when they sleep on your bed)

Girl pull yourself together and find peace among you all, soft words achieve a lot. Use the wiles of womanhood that you have in you and you will be amazed at how peaceful everything will be.If you make that effort and the SILs are not co-operating, you now have the good sense to not let them get to you because your marriage is important to you. How did a foody issue get so blown up that you are now getting on like "somebody may leave in a stretcher" if your child gets taken from you? Who is taking your child woman, please chill and see how you can turn things around for good. Which man will feel happy and comfortable when the wife is alienating his sisters in his home? You sure have issues here, issues you and your SILs contributed to. Try correcting the issues dear and voila! there is peace in your home. You can do that!
wow!...some women got brain indeed.i hope she gonna learn from this solution solving formula of urs.u said it all.God bless you in abundance for finding time to put up such of kind solution.

28. cugresources(m): Quote Post
@acidtalk, in Nigeria, when choosing a life partner, it is important to consider: tribe, religion, family background, and culture first. in Ibo land of ancient times, they do all these things, and its for a reason- if she had married an Ibo man, the marriage wouldn't have ended that way, just 7months, nope my friend, it won't believe me. the guy's elderly relatives and parents, with the lady's own would have sat down on a round table to iron things out, ask other people here. Ibos sacrifice a lot to ensure their son's and daughter's marriages remain united, I respect them for that. inter-tribal marriage hardly survives in Nigeria, if you doubt it, take a statistics around your immediate environment or ask experienced people. like I said, Ibos are the only tribes in Nigeria that marry anyhow- they marry tom, Joystick and harry in their liberal mind-set. maybe becos they travel a lot, so wherever they go, they build mansions, establish there and take those people as their own, and wouldn't mind marrying them, thats what I meant by they have liberal minds unlike other tribes in Nigeria. Talking of education, I am M.Eng holder from Leeds, MBA from Pan African University (Lagos Business School), so if your talking of whoever having more academic qualifications than I do, then the person must either be a Ph.D. hold or a prof. So to say my friend, lets leave education apart, and face the topic becos being a prof. or whatever doesn't always guarantee good judgment in marital issues. She and every other person reading this thread should consider tribe, religion, culture and family background when choosing a wife or husband. as for her case, the mistake had been done, but for correction, let her focus on dating or getting married to Ibo men and not leaving her mind so liberally...she must define her environment now...else, similar mistake may reoccur, which I pray not. Ask yourself, how many Ibos still practice polygamy nowadays? Probably none, but other tribes does, which shows u how much Ibo people value and respect the modern marriage system- which owes tribute to Ibos being homogeneously Christians!

@cugresources: You truly studied and i doff ma hat for you in line through your explanatory facts.you summarized with absolute great meanings broda.anyone who says, culture, tribe, religion and family should not come to play on the issue of marriage discuss most be an alien in African continent. They truly play key roles indeed.Never a born Igbo man leave his child... talk-less of male child to any human being, including pregnancy without formal dowry. In my entire Village, only very few men married two wives just because their first did not produce child and that led them to double wife.My friend Gbenga's father from Yoruba married six(6)women and all produced children but education was scarce in the lives of many in that family.
@Op,even bible made it known and clear that in terms of marriage "TRIBE" most come first otherwise it remains a game of luck between.Surly you will get a super loving dad to your yet unborn
children very soon.i,m gonna be in soon and would really wanna see you up.contact me with this add: fmsnk@yahoo.com and include your picture as well.
