FG PAY NANS PRESIDENT N500K EVERY MONTH? Information available to me now indicates that, Fg pay Nans president N500k per month. According to a close ally of the president, he said, my guy, the money comes in at every month end and if it didn't, it will come in the second week. He also added that, Fg don't just pay the President, zonal coordinators also get 100k per month. Can this be true? If yes, i rest my case. |

SO, WHAT'S WRONG IN CHOOSING MARRIAGE? A lawyer friend on facebook shared this and i thought to share with you guys. Two incidents prompted this write up and I'll give a summary of both before I go on. The first one is one embarrasingly interesting event. It happened sometime last year when I was a Nigerian Law School student on attachment in Ibadan. On that day, myself and a friend, Tobi had gone to a high court room in Ibadan and interestingly, we met another friend, 'Lola in court. When court sat and the very strict female Judge was carried away in argument with a counsel before her, my friends and I got talking and I must admit, we got so engrossed in the talk and we were making noise and we didn't know when the judge stopped arguing and concentrated on us in anger but then, someone tapped one of us "back to life" to see the Judge's eyes on us and knowing we were already in for it, we quickly rose to our feet to apologise to "My Lord" but she wouldn't hear any of our pleas and she rained a lot of insults on us. One she however said and which is relevant here is "...all these girls, they never have any vision or ambition and at the end, they just go and get married...". It was a highly embarrasing moment, I must say, as it was a very FULL court on that day and I'm sure Tobi and 'Lola will never forget that event in a jiffy. LOL The second incident; I read on the internet one day, a comment from Cossy Orjiakor asking a lady who had hurled some insults at her to go and cook for her husband as she was not in her class, implying that marriage is for ladies of low class. Now, my curiosity is this: is there any conflict between marriage and civilisation? Is anyone thinking marriage is for "ambitionless" ladies or for ladies who have failed or cannot make a headway in their career or for "untush" ladies? If this is what "westernisation" is doing to some people, I suppose too much of westernisation is bad afterall. From my own view, marriage is for "good" people, it is one of the greatest achievements especially when you do it with the right person (you may disagree). Marriage, especially when you find the right partner helps you reach many of your goals. Marriage is not for the low lifes but for the responsible. Marriage doesn't necessarily have to come after we have done everything and find nothing else to do, it doesn't necessarily have to come after we have built mansions on oceans. Marriage is not something we should attribute to the unserious and turn to a term we adopt in ridiculing lazy people, never do wells or the unlettered or uncivilised. I see it as a success in itself, at least if not for anything, Islam tells me it completes half of my religion. |
DEAR, THE IG OF POLICE, You must be reminded that even "satan" has the powers to influence his own followers by preaching the gospel of lies, for you the whole IG P to be swearing and denying on International media that the Police are not use for Political motive, you should know that even the the most irresponsible IG P ever produced in Nigeria will not do that. People in such leadership positions must be ashamed of themselves for outrightly denying any incidence which depicts human right abuses by the NPF in Nigeria, today. This is an act of corruption known to the Nigerian Police and for you to use God's name just to convince the world that what the Police are doing is the right thing, then you are morally corrupted. Imagine, how could you say that disruption of Governors" meeting at Kano Governor's Lodge and the Anti Corruption Colloquium all in Abuja was never a violation of human right and freedom of association! IS THIS NOT THE KIND OF LEADERSHIP THAT IS CORRUPTING YOUTHS IN OUR INSTITUTIONS LIKE THE POLICE, IS THIS NOT ENOUGH A REASON WHY THE POLICE REFORM PROGRAM IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE? IS THIS NOT THE WAY THE POLICE PENSIONS MONEY AND OTHER ALLOWANCES ARE BEING DIVERTED AND OUTRIGHTLY DENIED BY USING GOD'S NAME ON THE MEDIA. SIR, YOU GOOFED AGAIN! Yours, Ibrahim Garba WALA. A victim and a witness of Human right abuses by the Nigerian Police. If you like, reply me through the IG's (xyz) Squad! |

IS JEGA'S INEC THE PROBLEM? I heard many are calling for the resignation of the Inec Chairman, Prof Atahiru Jega over what they described as lost of control of Inec which was exposed by the Anambra Governorship election. This is why i am asking, is Jega's inec the problem or there is something more to be corrected in the law that established the commission itself. The question is, will Jega's resignation restore the damage done in Anambra and other places? And will the new chairman perform any better? It would be recalled that, some years ago, it was Morice Iwu, the former Inec Chairman before Jega. He was asked to resign after much condemnation and he finally left. But today, it is Jega. The same man praised as a man of integrity when he was first appointed. The truth is that, no matter who comes on board, nothing will change. Provided one man appoints who controls Inec, It can never be independent. Provided Inec rely on others for its funding, there can never be fairness. Provided one man can sack the Inec chairman, expect fraud at every election. |
