fellis: All the feminists on this thread that advocated gender equality are Nigerian and Afrocentric to a degree because many people in Africa still believe that women are inferior human beings and their coming here to speak against notions of gender inferiority serves to eliminate such thinking from the minds of Nigerians/Africans.

Seriously? huh
Nigerians.. yes afro centric... not sure

Again this bolded, i asked you how you were treated as an inferior being when you were in Nigeria you could not answer me

WackyJ1: kakashi can use 4 chakra nature because he can, he can use two very well and then perform certain jutsus from the remaining two, as for sasuke, you can say he has only 2 because he has another one called blaze release, My point being that because yo have only see him use two doesn't mean he can't use others, all he has to do is copy someone using the technique, (the copying will give him the basic idea)
Sasuke was with the king f jutsus for years Oro and never used other chakras?

still does not explain why kakashi can use 4 chakras

Those who are versed in more than one chakra nature typically have a special jutsu- kekkai genkai
what is kakashi own story

rman: This is what goes on in the entire country!!!!

A corper serving in OYO state told me how shocked she was when WAEC started.

In fact abnormality is now normal and it is only a few schools that do the proper thing ( allowing students to write the exam based on what the students know) .

When a lot of students came to complain on the JAMB thread, I could tell by the comments, those that cheated and those that studied hard to pass. More than 90% on that thread were not happy because they cheated and still failed.
Exactly.. who knows the Oyo Commissioner please?

When I say intelligence I am not talking about a mere IQ test for the love of peace. Intelligence in the different aspects that are required in being a good leader, intelligence when it comes to communicating effectively with others, intelligence with delegating responsibilities, intelligence with solving problems etc the whole caboodle. The partner who is better overall or has more success in executing leadership roles is the better leader.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. How will men be the ones giving the power? If women are allowed to contest for leadership roles and the notion of their being inferior to men is eliminated from the minds of the populace then they will be elected for positions of power BY THE POPULACE, not exclusively by men.

Women can occupy positions of leadership as we have seen by female leaders who occupied positions of leadership all through history and did a good job at it.
Women are not inferior to men.
Due to the fact that they can be leaders and are not inferior, this means they should be given the opportunities men have to be leaders.
Only if there are as many women in leadership positions as there are men, will we be able to compare both leadership styles and know which is better in the long run.
For now, we have to give women the chance and not marginalize them.
Ok... good of you to agree that leadership requires more than book intelligence
Ok.. it makes no sense

I believe women are not inferior to men also, I agree they need better chances but more importantluy they shd seize the opportunities which are already available rather than moaning about a siege mentality

slimyem: the bolded part made me chuckle.

Op,I am not surprised at your story. These things happen in the so called "Centre of Excellence" too. I served in a private school in Lagos and I was one corp member that made it hellish for authorities in the school because of my refusal to participate/help students solve their exam questions.
I was told by the school principal that its no big deal even as the proprietor of the school is a redeem pastor and fully supportive of it. She said the school apart from being what it is, is also a business enterprise and if. SSCE failure is associated with the school, parents would withdraw their wards. I didn't budge though. It was against everything I stood for and couldn't be a part of it so I didn't show up when they were to write those papers.
Even other teachers in the school said I was a wicked person and dared me to deny that I wasn't "helped" during my time which I did though they disbelieved.

Everything is wrong with the Nigerian system of education.Everything is wrong with how a lot of people see -education/certifications-do or die. whatever it takes! The rot is deep and cleansing is almost unacheivable.
Na today?? redeemed pastor... mschreewwww

tonibassey: Oga Bankole, I hope you read this reply. I have carefully followed your thread and its a pity your NYSC experience in Cross River State had to be a pungent one. As an indigen of this amiable State, Let me try to correct some impressions here: Firstly, I'm going to forward the name of that school to His Excellency the Governor on Monday, I think they deserve a visit from our State Commissioner for Education. Since the inception of Senator Liyel Imoke's tenure as Governor, the Secondary School system has seen immense reformation-and o! We do not have money in CRS so we cannot fund free education. Secondary schools across the 3 Senatorial districts have been renovated and their staff and teachers duely trained, retrained and sacked where necessary. The school at Ekirom will surely witness change soon and I assure you her principal and corrupt staff will be brought to book. We've had instances where the Commissioner for education drives to schools in rural areas and is not even recognized for his person by staff and so He gets the required information and acts accordingly. Examination malpractise is seriously frowned at by the Cross River State government. This government does not believing in commissioning so many school projects, stocking them with laboratory apparatuses and leaving them to rot at the hands of incapable teachers, but seeks to groom schools properly in a quota system, which involves testing, training and retraining of secondary school teachers-and yes, secondary school teachers do write exams set by the ministry. To further clear your doubt, you could inquire about the impact of this administration on the education system. Giving you the Governor's mailbox number here would not be necessary-education is that important to him, the first time I got it was while he was addressing secondary school students at a Children's day forum a couple of years back. Your complaint will be reported to the appropriate authorities, and we don't "eat people" here in Cross River State. Hope you have a rather fulfilling visit when next you traverse the land of this beautiful place. Long Live Cross River State!
I hope you are ready to fight this good fight with proof as this story may be a fictionalized account

fellis: I told you before that I believe in cooperation, not by force submission. However, if there must be a leader then it is preferable for the more intelligent parent to lead.
There is sth used in assessing vendors for a specific service called technical evaluation

If the score deemed worthy to pass is 70 percent all vendors above this score are technicallyt sound to execute the project

So bringing this to the gender issue, if the minimum IQ to lead the family and ensure all is done is 90 on a scale of 0 - 130+ is SAY 105. If i am this and i marry a lady genius with scores of 130l is it appropriate for her to be the leader of the household since she is deemed more intelligent than i am

I am sure you know intelligence and leadership are not always positively correlated
//See table below

Stanford-Binet Scale of Human Intelligence
IQ Score Original Term Modern Term
145 and over Genius
120–144 High Above Average
110–119 Above Average
90–109 Average or Normal
80–89 Dull Normal
70–79 Borderline Deficiency / Mild disability
50–69 Moderate disability
20–49 Severe disability
Below 20 Profound disability

Now on the 5000 years theory i was saying let me explain further... men have ruled societies for this long. to change the status quo you either have to show a new way is better or destroy the old cos its the same men who will give the power

do u get my statement

To bring his theory, Galilieo disproved the flat earth theory first and propounded the round earth theory
Democracy which is acknowleged as the best of the lot of governance mechanisms did not magically appear from no where, it displaced other forms of govt - i know you know your history so no need to enlist those

I have told you personally i believe in the following
The issues to me are

Education and empowerment for women
Fairness in adverse marital situations - widows, orphans etc
Protection from spousal abuse and ra.pe
And other 'basic' rights

my dear friend, it seems i am not getting thru to you sadly

I dont believe the earth is flat, i said Galileo before he could prove the earth was round had to disprove the flat earth theory..

again, you are not reading my posts, i said earlier men have been the leaders of the home for 5000 years hence the logic behind them still ruling now
Now it is known that women can be more intelligent than men

The theory that women can be leaders in the home not as executives or ministers (you hear)=?) i am interested in the home/marriage/family not in public life where affirmative action is helpign the ladies

I speak in nigeria,,,, here you have to know that comopanies that are not company friendly also dont pay living wages to even the males so where is this gender gap you speak off

I have worked and consulted for almost thirty organisations across the key sectors in this country and women earn the same as their male counterparts

Again I say companies in Nigeria where women dont earn the same as their male counterparts with the same qualifications are bad compoanies to work for and i bet you dont pay the living wage to their workers

fellis: Wow. Are you saying you believe the earth is flat? What shape do you think the earth is biolabee? smiley

O my god! Are you serious? Are you serious with this statement? How can you even support the idea that leadership should be the default responsibility of the male? I don't have to provide proof of anything, the very fact that some women are more intelligent than some men, the fact that a wife might be better at doing those things that are required of a leader than her husband, makes the idea of default leadership by men a very stüpid one.
What if a woman marries a lazy man or a man that is terrible at decision making? Should she still leave leadership to him knowing that he is likely to make decisions that would hurt his family?

Gender equality and for gender roles to be earned and chosen, not thrust on individuals.

Discrimination still exists and MANY MEN still believe that women are inferior to them by virtue of their gender.

What has this got to do with anything? Gender discrimination is still a thing. It is a good thing that women have contributed positively to your life but that does not eliminate the fact that gender based discrimination is still a thing. Please read the three links I put in my last post.

This is unbelievable. So what happens in the places you've worked is now the same thing that happens in every employment industry?
Please read the second link in my last post for evidence that women receive less pay than men in some institutions.
