Aro Computer Ce: Marriage is made up complex variables. Only the wise can solve it. In your case, you have the equation, you also know the limit of the variables. Just input the figure "KNEE DOWN" and you will arrive at the solution. Or talk with your husband to redefine the limit of the variables. In simple term, either you do what your husband says or talk it over. In life there is no problem without solution. Pls take life easy. In other words Knee Down + f(x,y,z) = PEACE lol |

I believe in submission
Submission is basically esteeming someone else other than yourself. Your will is my command kind of thingy in lovey dovey way. Most Christians feel submission is what makes women below men because they don't study their Bible or it has not been revealed to them. Do you know that the Bible asks all Christians to submit to one another and esteem each other above themselves? Does it mean that all Christians are inferior to each other?
A husband is the head (source) because he must be determined to start a home before the wife comes into the picture. A husband has been called to serve by example. Jesus said he did not come to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. Do you know that husbands are called the head of their homes according to the likeness of Christ? A man is also called to love his wife and the love was defined in 1 Cor 13: 1 - 8. If a husband practices all that, don't you think he would be like a slave or fool because he esteems his wife above himself. The balance is for the wife to submit so she is esteeming him and he's esteeming her.
'The love of a man makes a woman blossom, the woman takes care of the man to make him blossom too...' bukatyne 2012 I had this inspiration last year September. Wow.... deep! So why do we have gender wars and why is feminism perceived as throwing the yoke Why is it seen as allowance for hypergamy and disrespect to male authority |

Ok.. Good Still waiting for your response on submissiveness and your views Women mostly always support each other The man is blamed all times and also for pushing the woman to commit atrocities bukatyne: I don't know if my post is feminism or not.
I have stressed that people have different approaches to feminism.
A husband that loves his wife will lead his home differently from one who doesn't love his wife or thinks she is a chattel. A person's mentality or view matters a lot. A bitter person would make a bitter feminist and vice versa.
Women never support women. Check out who criticizes women more. I am sure that the staunch antagonists of feminists were women themselves.
AS for issues and gender wars, well... |

bukatyne: You have not really answered my question
ok, let's put it this way: What does the Bible mean by submission? Biblical submission can only be viewed in the context of biblical times which I was not privy to and do not agree to certain things myself like spouse inheritance and sacrificing virgins I speak of what I know in my time Over to you Do you believe in submission in a marriage and secondly; What does submiSsion mean to you |
Nairaland General › Re: Feminism - Why Women In General (especially Black Women) Have Been Duped By It!! by biolabee(m): 10:35am On May 16, 2013 |
bukatyne: I don't understand what you mean by gender roles but I believe you mean providing and house keeping
Providing: The Bible says a man that doesn't provide is worse than an infidel. However, the virtuous wife in Prov 31 works for her family (provides). Christian women are told to take care of their widows etc. Provision is for the husband and wife. I can't feel comfortable with my hubby spending all the money in the home because I don't feel it's right.
Housekeeping: We have instances of men and women who did chores in their homes. I don't know where the society got the idea that chores is exclusively for women. I agree with your post If this is feminism so why all the fuss Why do women support other women blindly Why do we have issues and genderwars |

bukatyne: I like the way you went about your points, Pleep could learn one or two things from you
As for your questions, the answers are bracketted Excellent.. Thanks ... What I meant by sanctity is aside from purity etc, do you think marriage has a role to play in society and is it relevant in our times 2. Ok I agree we have rights as humans 3, Ok I believe we have different roles in society and we should play those roles Women though working in the workplace are generally better suited for certain duties, they should be assisted as much as possible by the man The issue is that we have traditional roles which we are used to from time but that have to change due to time and there is inertia I am interested in your opinion of how you see the roles of man and woman in marriage |

Yes I know we are traditional here but things are changing
Men are becoming more involved in their kids lives and are not ashaned about it
So in 30 years it will be normal here
I guess submission means different things to many people but in a partnership there must always be a head
Men have traditionally being this head and I believe the challenge is the degree of input from your war room if I may say
Some believe the woman should have no say ie the conservatives some are more liberal
100 percent to me means a domineeting woman who will not take to the authortity oF the man
There is a growing view which believs in a middle ground thus;
On iSsues where my woman knows better I defer to her
Where I don't accept I expect her to agree and defer to me
What do you think
well, I don't live in Nigeria. so maybe i'm watching too many nollywood movies then. good for u and ur peers. that's great. my dad cooks once in a while but my mom does 80% of d domestic chores including catering to the kids. although they both work 50% 50%. so technically my mom is doing more work overall and it shows because she's more tired at the end of d day. i see d same in most african families. it's an uneven arrangement. maybe it's just my family and the african families around me then.
well, I don't believe in submission from the woman. I think of marriage in terms of personality. some men have dominant personality. some women have dominant personality. this is what determines the marriage dynamic in most cases. u can't cheat nature. if a woman is just naturally dominant, why try to control her and force her to act submissive. same goes with men who are just naturally beta. things will run better if the woman is allowed to take charge if she's more effective at it. that's my own. people should pair based on personality fit. most families run this way actually. although societal pressures can force things to change or even influence people's personalities. many men that rape i'm sure probably feel that they are able to do so because they believe it's women role to be "submissive" or men's role to be domineering. I think both man and wife have equal responsibility to love each other. the bible was written in days when girls were married off to much older men sometimes old enough to be their fathers. I think that's where the "man love ur wife" "woman be submissive to ur husband" idea comes from. if a 15 yr old girl is marrying a 35 yr old man. u can see how this will make sense.we all know today that wives are not children or property. they are similar in age/peers with their husbands generally. so different rules should apply. they should love each other equally and respect each other equally.
|

more bad news More pervs abound.. what can we do to keep our daughters safe Teacher arrested for handling 14-year-old pupil MAY 16, 2013 BY COMFORT OSEGHALE 6 COMMENTS A 24-year-old teacher, Phillip Ebong, was arrested on Wednesday by the Gowon Estate Police Division, Akowonjo, Lagos, for allegedly victimising a 14-year-old pupil (name withheld) and banning her from attending his classes. Ebong, who teaches Physics and Chemistry at the Dee Jewels International College, Gowon Estate, Egbeda, was arrested during school hours after a complaint was lodged at the police station by Spaces for Change, a non-governmental organisation on youth development, on behalf of the pupil and her guardian, Mrs. Theresa Amaechi. A copy of the petition made available to PUNCH Metro revealed that Ebong began harassing the victim from the first day of her enrolment in the school in January 2013. The petition read, “On repeated occasions, Ebong invited the victim to the staff room informing her of his desire to have an intimate relationship with her. Consequently, the victim became a regular visitor to the staff room during break periods. “On such visits, he made sexual advances to her which often involved kissing and hugging. Several times, Ebong followed her home, waiting at the gate to avoid being seen by her guardian.” The petition alleged that under much pressure from Ebong, the victim eventually invited the teacher to her guardians’ home while they were away. Ebong was alleged to have cajoled her to expose her private part, after handling her breasts and kissing her. It was said the harassment became too persistent, that the victim allegedly earned the title, “Uncle Phillip’s wife,” among her classmates and friends. Amaechi told PUNCH Metro, “The victim is a timid girl. I did not know the extent of the harassment she was facing until she opened up to me last Friday. Earlier, she had told me Ebong was asking her for a relationship and I told her to reject his advances. I thought it would stop at that. “I was shocked when she told me last week that she was no longer interested in staying in the science class; she wanted to switch to the arts and when I asked why, she said it was because Ebong had banned her from his classes. “Apparently, she had told him that I was aware that he had asked her for a sexual relationship. The revelation angered him. He even went as far as threatening that she would fail her examinations,” As of the time of Ebong’s arrest, the school principal was said to be busy as the SSS III students were taken the WAEC examination. However the school proprietor, identified as Mrs. Azubuike, who was alerted to the development, rushed down to the school. She said the victim never made a formal report to the school. She said, “We don’t condone such acts here. Had we been informed on time, we would have taken appropriate action.” When confronted, Ebong allegedly denied the accusation. He blamed the entire situation on his interest in his students’ success. He said, “I am close to all my students; that is what I was taught in the College of Education that a teacher had to be friendly. I just took an interest in the victim because I noticed she was not taking her homework seriously. All this talk of my touching and kissing her, they are all lies. I admit going to her house but it was because I wanted to see her guardian.” Executive Director of Spaces for Change, Mrs. Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri, said Amaechi came to her with the case on the same day her ward confided in her. She said, “We are prepared to seek legal redress in the court should the school and police fail to investigate this matter and exercise full disciplinary action against Ebong. “Our investigation has also shown that there are other students currently being abused by this same Ebong. “These acts of misconduct are not only indicative of poor supervision and negligence on the part of the school authorities, but also amount to continuing breeches of the victim’s fundamental human rights.” As of press time, PUNCH Metro gathered that the police had obtained statements from the victim’s classmates and friends. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi Braide, when contacted, said, “I will let you know when I have the full details.”
lol. of course women have changed d world, we make up 50% of the world and we're breathing. but I won't argue with u because by now u should understand what i'm talking about. all u need to do is look at the population of the world. what's the ration of men to women by population? now go back to the bible and history book. what's the ratio of men to women there. something radical in Africa will be men cooking and cleaning in d house for the family. LOL but this is not radical in some parts of d west. many white families I spend time in their homes, d husband cook and clean just as much as the woman and it's normal. but women still do much more. also this tend to be more common among upper middle class families who are very educated. there are lots of things. Like child care. how much men should contribute to child care.ex. some european countries have paternity leaves for example. Maybe Africa is not ready for it yet. but its something that i'm seeing happening more and more in western countries. LOL @occupy movement. Usually something huge has to happen for people to realize that they need to change their ways. ex. Aluu 4. when I lived in Nigeria, such incidents were common and no one cares. but I don't know why Aluu 4 all of a sudden became a movement and everyone cared. d u understand it? was it social media? people saw d pictures and felt moved? who knows. maybe some highly publicized case like that needs to happen before people will truly take the issue of r.ape seriously.
Haba cfour.. I cook and clean the home. I contribute actively to child care even of kids that are not mine so how is that a big deal in africa My peers do the same and they are proud of it My dad did same to my siblings and myself So why do you think that will be revolutionary Implicit in your statement below is that feminists cannot be submissive So how does this correlate to the biblical doctrines of love from the man and submission from the woman What are your views?
human rights is not the same as women's rights. maybe your friends aren't feminists esp if they believe in submissiveness.
|
