USA is very big on gender equality and if they want to legalize polygamy they'd do so by legalizing marriage of one person to different people, they won't simply legalize marriage of one man to different women. They'd also make it possible for women to have different husbands because making multiple marriages legal for men and illegal for woman is sexism and gender discrimination.
