fortifiedng:Don't waste your time going to University to study Computer Science. Go for other engineering course and do some online or in-class study of any area you want to know in computer. Computer studies is just an application to support other areas of endeavour. You will remain a support person to any other area of Business. You can go for Electrical and Electronics. by the time you graduate, you can function as a computer person or as an Elect Elect person. Doing only Computer Science will streamline you to a singular opportunity. You can ask Seun, the Nairaland owner. He studied Elect Elect in Ife, I can tell you that no Computer Science Student of his set, has a functional web portal that has integrated millions like Nairaland. Even when he was in school, there are some concepts that when he explained, some computer science students did not understand. My Advice. |
benben1000:LOL, you are very funny. If you are a father with four children and one of them adores you and very faithful to you, but others don't care what happens to you, they don't even answer your call whenever you need their attention. which one will you love most? |
niviso:This, I mentioned yesterday. Asking 10-15yrs old graduate to write an SSCE test is not the best way to get the best, but it is a good way to reduce the number of applicants. This is to say that, when you graduate, concious and continuous effort to refresh brain is very important. This experience will continue to repeat itself until we have very large pool of jobs in Nigeria that employers begin to steal professionals from other companies. But whem will that be? I think the way we can help ourselves is to give back to the society what it has given us. For instance, the education is decaying on daily basis, we are expecting the Government to do something. The very best Physics and Mathematics guys are not ready to help. If we have been involved in giving back to the society what we have gained, by teaching at freelance level, what we know in secondary school subjects, we will always be ready for any test of this nature. |
Waho!!!, As Im reading this thread and many more are coming in in minutes. But I think I should contribute. There is no doubt about it, first class students are very good. I can say of the university I went to, OAU Ife, the first class products are fantastically brilliant. I want to refer to one, please forgive me that I mention your name, but I want to give a leaving example and an academic legend of all time. His name is Folu Ijagbulu, a university first class of his set, Electrical Electronic department OAU. He works with Exxon Mobil. Anyone that meets this guy knows that he is not an ordinary person, he is all rounder. He can stand the test of time anyday anywhere. So first class students are not ordinary people, they are excellent, classified and accomplished people. Pastor Olukoya of MFM is a first class student, Pastor Adeboye, first class in Mathematics (PhD) that is why you can see super excellence in what they do. The only difference between 2:1 and 2:2 student had been mentioned. 2:1 students get relaxed when they are out of school, but the 2:2 students, out of frustration, continue to do more studies and prepare more, read wider and do more certifications to be able to make up with their past loss. This in a way build, discipline and make them somehow better. But you can not compare a 2:2 student with a first class student, even if the first class is a carry and dump student, "Oju jina si imu" eye is far from nose. But, university result is not the final test of life for everybody. Some third class student might become first class in a business and a first class student will do woefully in a business. The test of our life can not be based on the university papers. It is part of it but not the ultimate. So if you are a 2:2 or third class student, just believe in yourself. Though it might take a long while to get there but you will get there one day. As per the NNPC test result, I attended the test and I think the first class, who had done well in other oil giant company tests, must have looked down on NNPC, "what will they bring that we can not pass" and possibly did not prepare. But the NNPC test was so soft that a secondary school leaver can easily pass, though in some areas. Most of the people that attended the Experienced Hire were old guys, like 10-15 yrs post NYSC, who graduated with 2:1 and first class and can not remember the last time they read secondary school mathematics and those skills had gone. Some of them complained that how does NNPC expect them to pass secondary school exams knowing well how long they have graduated. It is not that these guys are not good, but the best test was not set for them to showcase their ability. These boys are bankers, very good and intelligent at their work. When was the last time they opened and studied books other than their day to day work. You can't expect most of those first class and 2:1 to pass such kind of test. That is where the difference between them and 2:2 sets in. A 2:2, who had been suffering in a state for a long time, seeing such an opportunity will go out all the way to embrace and pass because such opportunity might never come again. Who knows when he has been preparing for such opportunity. So his preparation may be better than the 1:1 and 2:1 guys. But that doesn't mean that 2:2 is better that first class product. Naaaaahhhh!!!. |
This ia an happy day for 9ja software developers!!! |
It is good that a 4.99 CGPA is coming out of a Nigerian University, but the issue is that, apart from the fact that 4.99 CGPA might probably not be possible, there should be a benchmark for rating these students. 1. The kind of lecturers that are teaching these students, what do they have, I mean what is there academic standard. 2. What is the standard of there exam questions. Do they give the students the assignment questions as the exam questions 3. The kind of exam questions, are they mean to apply knowledge gained in the class or they are just direct questions. Because in school like OAU, exam questions are application of knowledge. There are no direct, from textbook to exam paper, questions. You will have to think right there in the exam hall what you were thought in the class and apply it. I think the management of the school needs to review the academic standard of the University. Because to me it is like making parents to be happy for the money they are paying to the school. Also to impress other parents to bring their children. Moreso, the students being turned out of the university are not matured at all, they are mummy's kids. They are just academically okay but are totally inexperienced fellow. I believe the management needs to review their strict rules on these people and give them certain freedom to express themselves, they are just dummys. |
The idea of regionalism, I believe will go in long way to help infrastructural development in Nigeria. 1. Education: The old western region was noted for its educational development, free education. And many citizens of other regions came to benefit in the west. 2. Agriculture: then there was less emphasis on oil, the cocoa export brought good returns to the west and many infrastructural development were witnessed eg. the cocoa house in Ibadan. Also, during the civil war, when there was no money for the regime to purchase russian MIGS, "war jets" the groundnut pyramids of the northern Nigeria was lifted in exchange for MIGS 3. Infrastructual development competition: I believe that, if the old western region values are readopted and reengineered, the resultant development will gear up other regions as an emulation toward development. What Gov. Donal Duke did in Cross Rivers State is what is happening in Rivers state. What Gov. Babatunde Fashola is doing in Lagos state is already a master piece for all other states and the citizens of these states are expecting their leaders to do the same. What is happening in Imo state now shows that there is enough money in the state to aid development at all levels. If the Western Region Governors are able to come together and deliver Great Western Rail system, the effect will flow to the South South region. The next thing will be how to link the Western-Southern Great Rail System. The two region will begin to find economic integration where possible. And in effect the other regions will also see reason to link up to the Great Western-Southern Rail System. We can't leave everything in the hand of the central government. They have limited time to actualise anything, that is why they are seeking for third term. But if the power in the centre is distributed to the states and possibly regions, and the money is released then development will go at rapid speed in the regions and at the end the federal government or the regions can then be talking of Integration of the working systems, and duplication of the working systems in one region to the other and we will have a working Nigeria not a failed Nigeria. I believe Nigeria will work. But with the present arrangement, we will have issues, because of ethinic rivalry. I believe in Nigeria, she will never collapse. |
@Dareng They haven't sent any invitation to anyone's email box. I have been cheking my email also, but I got my DHL letter today. The Interview is at Abuja. Please, house, what are the expected questions for the Interview? Let information beging to flow. Thanks. |

So I pray that as you read this thread, you too will get your letter of Interview and you willl be successful for the job. Bye. |
The God of the universe, our God almighty is the owner of all the wealth. Isaiah 40:12 "Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?" If you understand the statement above, you will discover that our God almighty is the owner of the universe, and I believe he included all the crude oil and gold during the measurement. Those that serve God, to the tune of capacities of those pastors mentioned, can not but become the richest. Pastor kenneth copeland is the world's richest pastor, but because wealth and riches are normal things in the advanced world, you can't hear them talking like this about their pastors. Countries like Nigeria, poverty mentality has erroded our sense of living in the highest level of affluence. We don't even think it is possible. Even devil gives money to those that serve him, but not to what God can give to those that serve Him. Because, the one devil gives he stole it, he is a thieve so he can't give as the owner of the wealth will give. Just try and begin to serve God the way these men of God do and see if you will not buy 5 private Jets tomorrow. You have not seen anything yet, God is going to bless His own kids to the tune of $200bln, the entire world will come to Nigeria to learn how to serve God. Will you become God's kid today? submit yourself absolutely to His authority today and worship him in the spirit and in the truth and see what God will do in your lives. Youths of Nigeria, turn to God whole heartedly and be as rich as our pastors. See let me tell you a secret, Mfonobong Nsehe, is used by the devil to spread this propaganda. How do I know? The devil knows that if you serve God with all your heart, you will be richly blessed and devil doesn't want that, he rather prefers you in hell. So he set up people like Mfonobong Nsehe, to spread the lies about examples of people who rightly serve God and God blesses them in return and disuade you from doing the will of God. And as you do the will of the devil, your life becomes rotten and you ended up in hell, seekenah God bless you. |
@offended: I am very sorry for your predicament. What happened to you had happened to many people in the past. Apart from cheking your grammar and spell checking what you post, please do not send a post that is engulfed with Vendetta. It is only God that can revenge on your behalf, if vengeance is needed in your case any way. To me it is like you are cursing 70,000 people. These are people looking up to God praying daily for God to favour them and give them breakthrough in life. If your breakthrough hasn't come, that doesn't mean you should start cursing others. If the 70,000 descend curses on you, how long do you think it will take you to pray to get to your destiny. Please, try and take it personally and don't visit your anger over other innocent applicants. God bless you. |
I actually wanted to make this Niger Delta a topic when I discovered that it is already in hot debate. I am a Yoruba man, I have a liberal mind but not to some sections of this country who derive pleasure in destroying other sections of the country in the name of Political power. I am living in the south-south presently, Port Harcourt is in a state of disrepair when I entered the city, the entire villages are crying for help. My initial thinking was to see a city glowing with light like tinkling stars, good roads, fly overs and reasonable level of Power (electricity) delivery, but the reverse is the case. If you are not from the south-south, and you have never being to any part of the south-south, especially if you are a Yoruba descendant please don't join them to be against the steps being taking by the Niger Deltans. They have been robbed of their right. Infact their is no fair of God in this country. They have been neglected and destroyed, they have been looted face to face, they have been massacred and nobody could help them. They have to come out and fight for themselves and we all have to join them in this struggle, for it is a struggle for justicce. Chief Obafemi Awolowo has said that it is the poor that will fight for themselves. The time for the fullfilment of this prophecy is at hand. God almighty has placed so much resources underneath their soil to enrich the south-southerners to the extent that their generations to generations will never lack, but the political feudalist have impoverished them. I want to give you an instance. The Nothern autocrats and feudalists conspired about 30 years ago to build another city by moving the capital city from Lagos to Abuja, which began in 1982 and 1991 it was actualised, under 9 years, it shows that their is an hidden agenda. "According to Professor Wole Soyinka, somebody is thinking very fast somewhere" (Arewalising of Naira). why such speed if there is no hidden agenda. The construction of Abuja could not have been possible if Oil reserves had not been found in the Niger Delta, the Nothern Feudalists would not have embarked on such huge capital intensive project if mother Niger Delta had not, in her love for her children, released her rich milk for the survival of this nation. But instead for the political power to do justice and ensure even distribution of these resources, they decided to vulture on the right of the rightful owner. I swear that the head of Lugard will never rest in his grave from the last Generation to this generation and the generations to come. The queen of England shall cry for the rest of her life because his children shall be destroyed and scattered. As it was for the Jewish during the Hitla hollocust, so shall it be for the the generation of those that put this country together and called it Nigeria. For they have done internal damage to us, they have pitched us one against another for the benefit of their generations. Imagine Abuja being the finest country in Nigeria, a formal desert where the abuja aborigines used to grow yams. Because this Northern oligachy, the so called caliphate, never wanted the Power to leave their hand, they moved power to Abuja and from there ruled over the resources of the owner. Look at Major General Buhari, when Abacha made him the PTF chairman, this man has no feelings for the Niger Delta, he left the roads here in delapitaed forms and embarked on building the Northern roads, from Abuja to Kano is a straight, wonderfully tarred road. Please come to Niger Delta and see Neglect and Destruction. And Buhari believes that he has moral right to contest for the presidency of this country, if he comes back he will definitely do what is happening in the Darfur region of sudan now, "Ethnic cleasen". He will destroy the entire Niger Deltans and bring those almanjere to occupy the place. Buhari will never rule in my generation, not possible. If you go to warri, the chevron base in this city is like heaven on earth, but a few meters away from this place is an abbsy of abject poverty, neglected and destroyed. Those mentioning America, George Bush, please don't bring this person into the issues of Nigeria, they are the master minders of all problems in Africa. They are evils and that is why God has pitched them against the Arab nations to be torns in their flesh. It is America that inflicted AIDS in Africa. If you care to know the fact I will send my facts and figures to you, send me your email address. They are part of the Niger Delta problems. All they care to know is how many billions of dollars can enter into their economy if Niger Delta is engulfed by fire nobody cares. God knows how to deliver the powerless from the hands of those afflicting him. Africa does not have power to fight America and UK, but God fights for Africa by causing natural disasters (Tonadoes, Hurricanes, fires and so on) which the powerful can not stop to be destroying them. The God that Africa serve will deliver Africa, He is not sleeping. Look at the issue of Iran,I pray that America sends nuclear weapon there, that will be the first time that nuclear bomb will land in America. I don't know what Obasanjo is doing with them. So the Niger Delta youths have every right to fight for what belongs to them from the federal government. What should be their focus now should not be the guerrilla war which they are already prepared for. War will not solve our problem. They should follow suit with Yoruba people, we don't need war what we need is our intellectual reasoning to get power away from this northern feudalism and ensure that power rotation within the south continues for the next 30 yrs, by that time the generations of these evil northern feudalists would have died off and by then the better constitutions would have been written and by the time power rotates to their end we would have gotten stron grip over the entire economy and the central government will be very weak, so even a dog can go and rule no one cares. We all from the south (south-east, west south) need to unite ourselves together and fight this battle so that the vulture (Nothern feudalists) will not eat us to the bones. Let us push them to the extent that they will desire to secede from Nigeria. South West wants Oodua republic, South east wants Biafra Republic, why is it that the north does not want Arewa republic, just because of the oil. They were the one to stop agriculture in the 70's when oil was discovered in the south. Where is the groundnut pyramid of kano. We must all be united to stop the carnage of these vultures. It is not actually that all these northern people are bad, that is why I am emphasing feudalism. The number of them doing these things are very few, even look at their less priviledge, they do nothing for themselves. A current example is Atiku, he is busy building a school that an average Adamawas can not send their children. This guy do nothing beneficiary for his people, instead he is threatening anybody, in his state, that is against his political ambition. These are nonentities that should not be given space to live in this country. I am really bittered about this issue of Niger Delta. An advice I will give is the Government to budget separate money directly, if resource control is not possible for now, from the federal government. As they are planning building Abuja, let south-south be also planned for and build this people who have been magnanimous to the entire Nigeria with their resources at the expense of their own development instead of this prejudice that is being measured against them. |
I want to ask all the contributors to this topic a question, when do you expect a graduate to rule Nigeria? All personality you are making mention of are but uneducated set of people, who by chance found themselves in places of authority by means of one military coup or the other. They are all set of disobedient people to the rules of law in our country, so you can't expect any better from them. Most of us would have been seeing what is happening around us and note that the countries of the world that are progressing are being ruled by the academicians. These are the sets of people that understand how to provide the dividends of democracy, defend the rules of law and provide quality education that we all need. President Olusegun Obasanjo quickly recognised this fact, he puts professors and quality graduates in the positions of authority, that is why he has been recording ground-breaking achievements in this second tenure. Atiku will be the worst thing that will ever happen to this country if he should crookedly find his way to the uppermost helm of government. He is a thief, let him explain how he handled privatisation policy when he was the chairman. He has never publicly supported Mr President in his sole quest for killing corruption in this country. Mr President later got the support of few individuals who seeing that the policy can work. Then why is he the Vice President. He will never support it because he had different views coming to power, he never expected what he met. If he knows that the present government is not doing anything, why can't he resign and show to the public that he is not part of a bad-wagon. But that decision will be gravery for Atiku, because he is enjoying immunity now, so he is able to cover all his attrocities. That is why he is looking for all avenues to perpetuate himself in power and eventually institutes policies that will kill EFCC and ICPC, they are treat to him he never believed that those institutions could survice. And now that he has fanned a life coal, it has turned to life fire for him. The PDP disciplinary committe will soon show him way out of PDP and reap him off his immunity cover. Then EFCC, I trust Malam Ribadu will swear into full action and expose this illiterate you want in power. What can Atiku offer us. Nothing!!! An ex-customs officer!!! ?. A leopard will never change its colour, for a spade will ever be a spade. If he has anything to offer at all, he would have shown it in this government instead of causing chaos in the nation. All he wants is to get power and steal more money, he is a glutton he will never be satisfied. A man that can not do anything in his home, Adamawa state, only he could do is to oppress his kinsmen by taking over their lands and build world class school that citizens of his own state can not afford to go, what a great waste. This is a typical way a non-graduate thinks. If you want an illiterate like Atiku to lead us, squander all our resources and send us back to another slavery, it is in the power of our franchise to determine that. We need a visionary graduate to lead us. A very close example is what has just happened in our neighbourhood, Liberia, just wait and see. When Mrs Ngozi Iweala took members of House of Reps and National House of Assembly to France to deal our debt relief, they could not believe themselves that they met with very intelligent young chaps. These are the generations of people, whose money our past leaders borrowed from their fathers, in the name of our country and squandered them all. Now imagine fathers in our country going begging people that are not up to their sons and daugthers for debt relief. What a shame. For Atiku, Babangida or Buhari to rule us, for christ sake these are generations of reprobates and recycled materials what do we want from them? If the present reform is what Mr President's brain that some of you considered as coconut brain could do, let Obasanjo countinue for third term. |
I want to thank the crew of intellectuals, who deemed it fit to provide a very viable medium like this for people to express their opinions. I want to really thank God for giving to our dear country, at this most crucial time we need people like Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. Who, denying all plesures and respect for individuals to serve her father's land. She has done so well. I never believed that Nigeria could get out of her debt under 3 years of administration of Mrs Okonjo Iweala, due to the degree of vandalism done to our economy by the vagabonds who unceremoniously found themselves in power. She is one of the few people who have written her name on a platter of Gold in the history of this country. She is one of the few who has been supporting our dear President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to really change the image of this country and revamp our dead economy, even when the second in command never show any public commitment to the fight against corruption crusade of Mr President and yet wants to contest for the presidency. This angel of change has done everything in her capacity to support Mr President and to help change the future of the country. The building up of our foreign reserve to the tune of 45 Billion dollars is very amasing to me. I never believed it could happen so fast, because those were the money somebody used to buy like 25 honda cars in their backyard which they will never use and the entire timming population will not be able to eat three times in a day. I want to really thank her. Madam, if you are opportuned to read this message, I will love to have opportunity to pay you homage. You are too fitile for the sustainability of our demcracy, God will bless you. |
