Sirjamo: When Obasanjo was President, he sold like 400 assets, made so much money from oil and left $104b for his two boys. The clueless one of Otueke blew all the money left for him and even took loans.
Buhari had no reserves to blow, hasn't sell any asset, oil has fallen by more than 50% on the average, there was Niger Delta avengers and now COVID 19 World economic downturn. If he doesn't borrow money, where will he get fund to run the government and build infrastructure? This one is lost, there is no redemption on sight. |

Mynd44: Do you know that in "saner climes", when the smugglers are caught they will be charged with vehicular manslaughter as they will be held responsible for the accident? In saner climes, border securities gets air support and or work with nearest local police. Do you also believe that a fully loaded Peugeot j5 can outrun Toyota hilux? J5 that can loose balance like kilode? I have witnessed custom officers in pursuit of a small car along Benin before bypass, the car ran into a dish and they dragged the youngman out and shot him( just for carrying three bags of rice), is that how it also happen in saner climes? |

Car Talk › Re: Reno Omokri: I Never Realised What Car Horns Were Meant For Until I Went To Uni by bishop4life(m): 6:06am On Sep 12, 2021 |
Ogeneigbo1: I realised car horns makes most Nigerians drive recklessly. One day I went for a function ,my car horn was very Okay.. immediately after the function, I entered the car only to find out the horn is dead .
I thought of how to drive on the road with all the bike , Keke and other road users,I felt like parking the car,on a second thought, I zoom off.
I couldn't imagine that I drove this car without horn extra carefully back home... I drove it again without horn for two days because my schedule was very tight to go see an electrician.
I never believed I could drive so carefully..
After the incident, I concluded that we abuse car horn in Nigeria. Sorry I have to quote you but this is actually true. Horns are one of the things I first check on before I hit the road. But then, here in Nigeria we like noise too. Sometimes I go crazy thinking how people get so comfortable with so many speakers from the churches, mosques, many cars with advert jingles, generator sets, car horns, and even loud speakers from bars and clubs? Like how the f..k are we comfortable with all these? |

ISLAMOPHOBES. The thread is about the flight from Islamabad to Kabul, but you are looking for Islamophobes to cajole. Anyway beating and forcing women to stay inside the house is not "things taking shape" , but that is not in any way one of our problems here. We are busy with our VAT and anti-grasing issues. Since you are too good with the talibans and their taking shape, one would expect that by now you should be in Islamabad waiting for a flight to your good shaped Kabul? |

Christianity Etc › Re: Is Speaking In Tongues Trainable Or A Gift? by bishop4life(m): 1:41pm On Sep 05, 2021 |
chatinent: Yes, it is the gift of the holy spirit as seen on the day of pentecost.
But you see, brother, what is done today, the speaking of unknowledgeable words is pure nonsense and wasn't what was done then.
Unless you want to explain the meaning of rashidi yekini yamaha wa ka susuki from a preacher's mouth.
When people spoke in tongues in ancient times, they spoke one language and people from different cultural backgrounds, languages, and heritage, understood them.
Suppose Paul was in a Hebrew land (with non-Hebrew visitors from around) and spoke Hebrew, of the gift of the spirit, the Greeks, people of Corinth, people of Ephesus, Igbos, Ijaws, Yorubas, etc., understood him! They weren't speaking nonsense! The gift allowed them spread the message far and beyond language barriers...not speaking ecstatic pronouncements of gibberish.
Now I ask you, is what that was done then the same with what we hear and see today?
Have a nice century. God bless you |
