It is uncalled for in any tradition or society for a daughter/son to engage their Father in a public domain as a means to addressing family feuds.

Imagine If Chelsea Clinton suddenly confronted her father on the pages of Newspapers on his personal and political decisions.

This is just plain wrong on her part but in a way she may have exhausted all avaenues in passing her message to her father but this tends to be more of a salvo and repriminding of her own Father on the pages of the newspapers.

If anything at all, she should have put her family desputes aside and consider either the sacred position of Obasanjo as a father to her and/or his former exalted position as a former head of state.

From what I can picture from her letter and OBJ's own and his actions and utterances in the past; Obasanjo is a man suffering serious withdrawal symptoms of former grandeur.

This is a Man that has become so politically irrelevant that a LG ward in his own backyard could not be secured talk less of his state or geo-political region he belongs.

OBJ did not resign his position as Chairman BOT of the PDP was forced to step down given that the same ruling he applied on Tony Annenih after the latter lost Edo to Oshiomole was aggressively implemented under the Yaradua administration. The norther bloc was behind this as they wanted to distance and prune OBJ's influence on the Yaradua administration.

If You have read Segun Adeniyi's book chronicling Yaradua's administration you will understand that that government was able to successfully check Baba. With GEJ's ascension Baba thought he was about to make a come back was shocked as GEJ simply continued with the Yaradua treatment but assuaged Baba by giving him an International Elder state's man status which was not enough for Baba.

Baba was the first to start promoting Sule Lamido of Jigawa and had been one of the very early callers at the governor's lodge in Damaturu.

OBJ also broke the golden unwritten rule which was never to openly criticize a sitting head of state being a former occupier of that position.

The truth be told OBJ is very unsure of his future. With GEJ his relevance is fading fast and with PDP crumbling the likes of Buhari managing the affairs of this nation is sending shivers down his spine.

Mr. Man, I am a Lagosian from a prominent creole family. I say Lagosian and NOT Yoruba because I am not in any way genetically linked to Yoruba peoples.

My first name is Yoruba as is the tradition with most Creole descendants and I have an English Surname.

My Mother is from Delta and I did my secondary schooling in a boarding school in Warri.

I wrote that piece in the most instigating manner because I have come to feel offended by the current leadership in Lagos treating Lagos as a FOR Yorubas alone and targeting certain people from a particular section.

I am the least tribal person in this country and in my office I have been accused by my supposedly tribes men for not being truly Yoruba which I never claimed to be in any time in my life. Being Lagosian is not equal to being Yoruba at least in my own case.

So if you felt offended by my write up I suggest you go back and re-read what I wrote.

As a Yoruba man I am sure you will pride yourself as being the most open critics in Nigeria without fear or prejudice just as you are fond of citing Obasajo as a case when in office so in that light I hope to shed the light of your hypocrisy in not accepting criticism when it come to who actually developed Lagos. And as a Lagosian I can authoritatively tell you that we or at least our creole fore-fathers built Lagos from scratch.

I pray that no matter my station in life in the future that I will command the same love and respect I currently share with my kids.

I say share because I will also respect them and love them back just as I do now. Right now being that they are young I still have veto power over some of their childish follies which I try to correct not by spankings but with coercion and explanations. Hopefully, with this method they will be able to understand that doing the wrong thing is wrong not because you get a spank but because it is wrong.

When they eventually get to adulthood I expect them to be fully independent and morally stable so that I will not need to wade in and give retribution where it is not needed.

OBJ obviously has failed as a father, from sleeping with his son's wife and having him deride and condemn him publicly to having one of his children who obviously benefited most from his position as President write a public condemnation letter to him.

This can only be a curse from God on him.

Today in Warri, as it has always been, there is the Ovie of Warri (Urhobo tittle) and Olu of Warri (Itsekiri) I believe a sharing formulae has been implemented to suit all aggrieved parties.
