Update: 28th Sept., 2023.

PayPal ruled in my favor yesterday and I got my money back, the entire $100.

Though I was mad about the fruad all through, I was relieved a bit yesterday when my money came back.

Now, some observation:

1. Nairaland is FULL of scam.mers and 'working boys' today. It isn't the good, old forum I use to know. If you need you deal with anyone here, PROTECT yourself by all means necessary.

2. I observed during this time that most of the offers here are plain frau.d, run by accounts less than a year. Many are only a month old. Avoiding such accounts entirely is best.

3. If you have PayPal funds (or any other funds for that matter), find a way and withdraw same YOURSELF! It isn't as difficult as it sounds. This challenge taught me that... learn from my mistake!!

4. If you must sell PayPal funds, make it GnS. FnF is too risky and a haven for frau.dsters. The only reason, I believe, I got back my money is that it was sent via GnS and not FnF. Don't let lower rates or PayPal fees scare you... It isn't usually worth it.

5. As for JegAxe, I sent him a piece of my mind via the same medium he attempted scamming me on. And, as stated there, SO SHALL IT BE!

6. Finally, always have records for financial dealings. No phone or WhatsApp calls. Everything should be reduced to writing (eg. WhatsApp msgs). You never know when disputes might or will arise. Imagine if everything done with JegAxe was oral!

Take care, you all and watch your backs... Nigerians aren't smiling...our problem as a nation is clearly beyond bad leaders, hyper inflation and unaffordable gasoline cry

To sign off, I may likely not respond to any messages or replies after this is posted. I signed in only to post this and right after, will be signing out again.

Peace!

Please house. Does Godaddy accept Nigeria's GTBank debit card payment?

Not sure for the Naira cards; the USD cards work excellently, however.

Further, any dollar-denominated card (from any bank, prepaid or debit) will easily achieve this.

PayPal is another route.

Finally, there are numerous virtual USD card providers available online today. DYR and go with anyone that catches your fancy.

However, whatever you do, DO NOT CONTRACT ANYONE HERE TO 'HELP' YOU PAY UNDER WHATEVER GUISE.

It will end in premium tears!

CuriousX:

Sorry about your experience. But PayPal funds that are goods and services is not up to N800/$

This is because of the volatile or problematic nature of Paypal funds seeing that the transaction can go south 5months after with gns transactions.

If the funds were fnf then okay but charge back could still happen.

In the business section of nairaland there is an e currency thread for all sort of digital currencies and trusted members who act as escrow there.

One would have thought that as an oldie on the forum you should know the thread but on second thoughts there are sections of nairaland that I don't visit myself and was amazed as to the good stuff they had when I read through.

Please share with me/us ways to make money online that is working for you. Country hard abeg cry

Never knew that was available as I hardly visit the business section

Sometimes, I don't even visit this section (or Nairaland) for months.

Not an excuse though: I should have seen the red flags, in retrospect... they are always there... in this case, they were there.

Family and obligation blinded me. My mess though, not still an excuse.

As for the funds: I have several niche sites I built and ranked years ago, using SEO.

Most of them were monetized with recurring affiliate programs that still pay today, years after.

Will check out the business section, not for PayPal though (generally). I will also look around when I get the time. It appears we now have more thieves than honest folks in Nigeria, who knows what service I might need next?

The PP challenge forced me to get a card, link it and withdraw cash, all in less than 7 days smiley

Thanks.
Webmasters / Jegaxe Is A SCAMMER! by bizfirst: 12:00pm On Sep 13, 2023
Hello everyone.

I did not want to do this. I am well too busy for this. However, as events have turned out, I understand that the folk who has scammed me of my hard earned money is out there still trying his luck with others.

The story is simple and straightforward:

1. Recently, I created a thread seeking reliable Pay.Pal exchangers: https://www.nairaland.com/7829745/trusted-reliable-paypal-exchanger-needed.

2. The funds were as a result of promoting companies, running to thousands of dol.lars. I was broke but did not want to ask for this money as I was keeping it for something else.

3. My kids were due for resumption and there was no way I could raise money otherwise. Reluctantly, I asked for payment and decided to sell the funds to tackle the issue with my kids future. That was when that thread came on. (I had no card attached hence this decision. Big mistake).

4. This fellow contact me and offered 800 NGN to the USD. I had my suspicion: a month old account, no engagement on his many scamming ads etc. I decided for once to try trusting a 'fresh' Nigerian again, knowing well that I was protected with the GnS service of Pay.Pal.

5. The others were giving me as low as 600! Folks are super greedy in these parts! grin

6. I decided on him but also decided to break the money down in 100s. The plan was to mitigate risk and keep things easy if anything went south.

7. Immediately the first tranch was sent, I knew that I had made a mistake. The fellow started asking me to confirm that I had received shipment etc.

8. I played along, while doing nothing and wondering how on earth I landed myself in such a cheap mess. That was when the story of he could not access his account came on.

9. I gave me the benefit of the doubt. However, when by the next morning, he did not reach out and failed to credit me, I confirmed he was indeed a sca.mmer.

10. I filed a dispute immediately. For all the grace period, he did not once respond. He only responded today calling me a scamm.er and saying I was paid in full. The guts is what I have never got used to.

11. Well, the issue is firmly in hands of Pay.Pal now and I believe I'll get my money back.

However, I brought this here because:

1. I can see that he is still actively prowling around, looking for more victims to def.raud. It is good to keep folks on here at alert.

2. As a word of caution, any new account here should be ignored. If you're dealing with an old account, make certain that they prove themselves and importantly, have an address you can easily reach out to them. While Nigerians complain of their leaders, they're actually worse. Na opportunity them never get.

3. Finally, the saga inspired me to get a card, link it, withdraw the funds myself and sell at the black market for 920. For every challenge, there is always an opportunity to rise up to it.

Stay safe guys. Will be checking in when I get the chance. Will also update you on Pay.Pal's decision and importantly, how you can withdraw your PayPal funds yourself without risking what I went through.

All here of course. I'm not selling anything - and importantly, know of too many legal means online to make money to even remotely considering roughing anyone.

Peace!

I bid $450.

Reason: It is the average price payable for a site earning $37 monthly since that is the estimated revenue accruable to the site for the next 12 months (1 Year).

Contact me on O8I-79I2-9836 for business.

Regards!

Thank you for the offer. However, I must reject it since it is waaay below the site's value.

Niche sites like the one under discussion here are sold on a 38x-50x multiple, not a sum of their 12-month's income.

Ordinarily, with the aged domain and the fact that the site has premium themes plus the reality that the domain itself won't expire until 2024, I should have ordinarily gunned for the higher multiples and asked for a multiple way above 40x.

But, I am a modest man...and I want the site to sell fast, hence the 40x multiple which roughly translates to a fair and super reasonable $1500.

If you change your mind, you know how to reach me. If you don't, I appreciate your interest. But the price is a firm $1500, not a cent less.
Webmasters / Re: Niche Website Earning $36+ Monthly For Sale by bizfirst: 4:51am On Sep 27, 2022
This website is still available for sale to the right buyer.

I was recently asked if it has Adsense ads on it.

The answer is NO.

The reason is that I don't mix display ads with affiliate offers; I am a firm believer that sites should not be over-monetized so I keep display ads on info-biased sites and affiliate offers on affiliate-inspired sites.

However, with over 90% US traffic and over 95% organic visitors, it will be a money spinner if you want to add up display ads.

The US RPMs are waaaay better than what we have over here in developing countries like Nigeria.

Accordingly thus, just by adding up ads, this website would easily hit over $100 with zero (additional) efforts.

Can you beat this?

There is something called 'waka pass'. That phrase exists for a very good reason.

Es350:
1,500 for a site earning 30 usd or less monthly? That’s a 50x multiple lol.

Good luck with your sales though.

Try to list the site on flippa or motioninvest if it’s a quality website and you’re serious about selling it, you won’t get reasonable offers here that’s if you'll even get offers.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm actually trying to avoid the commission costs as most of these marketplaces take 10-15% or 1k USD, whichever is higher. Then again, there are some serious folks here that I even know personally. So, you never can tell.

About the pricing... the site makes an average of $37 monthly, not $30 or less. That is why the entry has it as $30 +

Working with that, you'll see that the multiple is circa 40x, which is perfect and in line with industry standards.

Factor in the aged domain, premium theme plus framework and the fact that the domain won't expire till 2024 and you'll see that the price is super fair...that is why I won't sell for a cent less.

Once again, thank you for the suggestion and for dropping in. I appreciate you.

Aside: I love your moniker smiley Are you an enthusiast of the Lexus marque?
Webmasters / Re: Niche Website Earning $36+ Monthly For Sale by bizfirst: 9:22am On Sep 26, 2022
This website is still open for sale.

Its top selling points are:

1. The domain is aged; it is well over 4 years old.
2. Domain renewal won't be an issue; the domain won't expire until the second half of 2024.
3. The website is built on a super premium framework and theme; the Genesis Framework. The theme used is also premium.
4. At a steady income of $37 on average, this site is already paying for its costs and into the profit mark, all without lifting a finger (again)!
5. Importantly, the site makes money every month, on autopilot, without any input from me, despite not touching it for more than 15 months.

At a super fair $1500, this is a COMPLETE STEAL. If you know its worth and are willing to take the bull by its horns, reach out to me on WhatsApp: (only): 0/7/0/5/9/0/1/8/4/5/6.

If the public way is your style, leave a comment below and I'll reply, 24 hours max (and in less than 48 hours, this passive income-generating machine could be yours).

This is the third most asked question I'm getting regarding this site listing:

3. How do I verify that all you have said here is true?

Simple: ask and I'll provide all reasonable data by means of screen grabs.

If that won't cut it for you, I'm also open to running a live video with me logging into my accounts to prove the stats/site details (all sensitive/non-site details will be blurred, however).

Please, note that this option isn't open to time wasters or those who simply want to stress me. I will only take this route with a prospective buyer if and when I've come to the irresistible conclusion that such a would-be buyer is not only serious but also has the will and ability to buy this asset. It is thus completely discretionary and at my behest.

If there are questions, as usual, I'm open to taking them either here or privately via my WhatsApp number provided above.
Webmasters / Re: Niche Website Earning $36+ Monthly For Sale by bizfirst: 12:44pm On Sep 25, 2022
This is the second most asked question I'm getting regarding this site listing:

2. Are you selling the associated Amazon account too?

No. Only the site (domain name inclusive) is up for sale.

I am not selling the associated Amazon Associates account.

This means, for this site to make sense to you as a buyer, one of two things need to happen:

1. You'll need to already have an Associates Account with Amazon.

2. You'll need to apply for a fresh Associates Account with Amazon.

If the former applies to you, it is pretty straightforward.

If the latter is the case, all you need to do is apply with the site and right after it sells again (which is every week, on average), Amazon will take a look and approve your account, bearing your name and you too will start earning in Dollars, month after month, passively. This is 100% guaranteed.

Why am I so certain?

The site has already met all the stringent Amazon Associates conditions and has been in good standing for years.

If you had challenges getting accepted into the program before now, this is your chance!

Will tackle the 3rd question I'm being asked in a bit...
Webmasters / Re: Niche Website Earning $36+ Monthly For Sale by bizfirst: 5:42am On Sep 25, 2022
It's a brand new day, folks and this niche website is still open for sale, patiently waiting for its new owner.

I have been talking to a number of people who have reached out privately via WhatsApp. However, until the niche site is finally paid for, it is still open for sale and available to the one who will take the bold step of crediting my account and signing the sale papers with my lawyer. cool

There are 3 questions I have been asked repeatedly via private chat that I want to clarify here:

I'll take them one by one to avoid boring you with too much talk.

1. Why are you selling a site making money on autopilot? Simple: I have many such sites, each making anywhere between $20 and $100 monthly, on average, on 'autopilot mode'. I started them when I had a ton of time on my hands and believed I could hire writers to expand my writing business.

This has failed. Woefully. I have hired several writers here on Nairaland in the past and what I got was a monumental mess. Not worthy of even publishing at all. Foreign writers, especially native English speakers are beyond my budget at this point in my niche publishing career so I have made the hard choice of bending down to write, myself. Every single word.

Unfortunately, I can only write so much a day, being a married man with children who also has many other commitments/obligations on his shoulders.

This means, I need to focus on the top earning sites exclusively until a time when I have some support in terms of writers. To do this, I have decided to sell most of the lower flyers, and get money to add up and fix some financial obligations, and possibly, invest into the high earners.

This site is one of the many that I have decided to sell. There are still many more to go, all making money on autopilot without any form of assistance whatsoever.

If you need to clarify anything here or doubt me, fire your questions, either here or directly via WhatsApp. I have all the information/data I need to answer you logically as I have been in this business for more than a decade.

This is a sweet deal, believe me.

If you want to tap in before it's sold out, kindly reach out on WhatsApp: (only): 0/7/0/5/9/0/1/8/4/5/6. If you want everything to be done publicly here, I'm also open to that.

Ask your question(s) below and I'll answer, directly. Remember, the price is a firm $1,500 - not a cent less.

The second question I was often asked, privately, will be treated in a moment...
Webmasters / Re: Niche Website Earning $36+ Monthly For Sale by bizfirst: 5:42am On Sep 24, 2022
This niche site is still available for sale.

Here's a screenshot of what the site sold, yesterday that I finally decided to sell it (after not touching it for close to two years)!

This is the ultimate definition of an ATM machine, money on demand and a true autopilot system.

I can also provide historical sales data from Amazon. This is the pattern all year round, for almost a year and a half since it started earning. It is not a once-off thing.

The price, again is a fixed USD 1,500. Not a cent less.

If you have any question(s), kindly reach out to me here directly or via WhatsApp (only): 0/7/0/5/9/0/1/8/4/5/6 and I'll gladly answer you.

Good deals like this don't come every day.

Webmasters / Niche Website Earning $36+ Monthly For Sale by bizfirst: 11:59am On Sep 23, 2022
I have a website in the alternative energy niche that has been lying fallow for some time (last article on it was published about 2 years ago). I need to let it go to the right buyer so that I can focus on some other projects.

Here are the details:

1. Website is monetized passively via Amazon affiliates and earns an average of $37 a month (there's proof, if needed). You can add up Adsense or another method and easily triple that figure, should you desire.
2. Domain age is 4 years plus and is due to expire in 2024.
3. Website has only 18 published articles. You can easily double that number and double the income.
4. All articles on said website were written by me directly...and are as badass as they are SEO optimized. There'll thus be nothing to review or revise.
5. There's no email list, social media accounts or anything else. What is attached to the website and what is for sale is only the domain name and website itself. Nothing more.

If you need any other information, you can ask me directly and I'll be glad to provide it.

The fixed price for this asset is $1,500 (excluding any fees that payment may mean for you as an intending buyer).

I'm open to payment by Payoneer and direct bank deposits only.

I'll prefer payment in USD. However, if you have the money in Naira and are willing to pay at the prevailing parallel market rates, I'll be open for consideration.

I can be reached on WhatsApp (only): 0/7/0/5/9/0/1/8/4/5/6.

If there's anything you need further, kindly buzz me up or leave a comment here and I'll get across.

P.S.

I understand that fraud is something that is quite endemic in these parts. If you're scared, I'm open to using a trusted Nairalander as Escrow, one of sterling reputation, suggested by the would-be-buyer and approved by me.

If you're a fraudster, please, kindly take your 'hustle' elsewhere. It won't work here, believe me.

MYTH 3: SOCIAL MEDIA TRAFFIC, SHARES & LIKES HELP WITH SEO

Each time I remember this bullcrap, I literally laugh out my heart - and to think that this is what my friends and I believed back in the day with a passion that was rare to see and rarer still to match is (now) beyond my comprehension.

We begged for shares, bought them and SPAMMED them - if your links weren't everywhere on social media, the myth went, you were missing big.

...and, no one wanted to miss big!

So we shared. And shared. And shared some more.

It was also fashionable to have a social link counter before and after every post (and sometimes, pages). The idea was to look successful online and maybe, make some bloggers green with envy grin

However, reality soon set it - and local man was tired of doing nonsense. Henceforth, local man decided to shun social media and focus on other metrics!

Your guess is as good as mine -

My organic traffic soared - and the biggest gainers didn't even have a single share online!

Special Note

To sink in the uselessness of social media to SEO, Google retired its very own, the almighty Google Plus - the one social media we all tried to have relevance on back in the day!

If you go online spending precious hours spamming your links or buying social media traffic (like we did in the days), note that you're simply wasting your time.

If nothing from this update sinks, let that sink!

Myth 2: To Rank On Google (Or Any Other Search Engine), You Need To Build Links!

When I started blogging, circa 2010 - this was the standard lie told and we bought it without question.

Sadly, almost a decade later, this myth is still propagated by folks who know nothing about blogging or by fellows who should know better. The scale of mislead is massive here.

Back in the day, bloggers would comments all across the globe, on all manner of sites - all for the slim chance of a dofollow. Often, we would beg for same by means of a guest post.

Guess what?

This is bullcrap. Completely.

You can actually rank on Google and other search engines without actually building, or attempting to build a single link!

Here's How:

1. Carryout out good keyword research and focus on the low hanging, ready to pick fruits in your niche. Pluck them all!

2. Write in a super comprehensive and dope manner. Cover everything with your articles.

3. Make certain you attract only interested folks to your site and while they are there, make it conducive for them to check out other pages and stay for minutes, not seconds.

Then, viola! You have organic traffic from search engines...often more than you EVER imagined possible.

NB

While links remain important and strategic - especially in ranking for 'higher hanging fruits', you do not need to follow them aggressively or even consciously. Other bloggers and companies are always on the lookout for awesome content to link out to. You simply wake up and see that some important site is linking to you!

Stats heavy articles, infographics and articles with an authoritative (but dissenting voice on a controversial topic), in my experience, garner the most FREE, unsolicited links!

No one loves the reality of winding up at the receiving end of a scam or an online fraud.

Sadly, we sometimes (despite exercising caution and due diligence) fall victim to these frauds.

Most of the time, like rape, we do not report - and the fraudster gets away with the crime. And keeps on.

Let's change the narrative. If you have ever been at the receiving end of an online fraud - either locally or internationally, let's hear your story!

If you know the identity of the fraudster, kindly share it too so that others will learn from you and avoid falling victim.

MYTH 1: PEOPLE ONLY BUY FROM THOSE THEY KNOW & TRUST!

This is the standard myth - all thanks to those who came before us (circa 2010 and before).

Many of us who started blogging around 2010 were told this and sadly, we believed hook, line and sinker!

This led to looking for those who will 'trust us' and become raving fans and subscribers before we even thought of monetization.

The result? I never got any sizable number and even the few thousands I got weren't that fanatical and sadly, weren't willing to open their wallets and purses easily.

The income was poor - and as a result, not enough to justify the time put in.

Fast forward 3 years after, I was making a steady income from folks who were not even subscribers, persons who did not know me and surely, folks who really did not know (or care) who I was!

Now, how exactly did I burst this myth?

Simple: I focused on creating value and establishing my expertise - then attracting those who needed help with my peculiar brand of genius. The rest, as the say, was (and remains) history.

The takeaway:

Don't go around believing that to make money online, especially via info products or affiliate marketing, you need a super active, fanatical community. Personally, I know on authority that the exact opposite is the case.

Instead, create super awesome content, handle your topic like a true pro and ultimately, get your SEO hat on - and ready smiley

With this, the bulk of the folks you attract will convert - almost on the spot and open their wallets and purses, immediately!

NB

Online, folks don't care who you are; what matters is your content and offer. Folks are more interested in trusting your work as against you. While the former is instant, the latter sadly takes time - time that ensures sad frustration and guarantees no (actual) results!
Webmasters / The Biggest Blogging Myths Of All Time Busted! by bizfirst: 10:11am On Dec 29, 2019
It has been a long time (read: years) since I logged in. I got busy. Then busy. And then, seriously busy.

However, as the year is closing, I have some free time on my hands and decided to check in. Sadly, the Webmaster section is WAY worse than when I last checked in.

Sad.

Accordingly thus, I'll be chipping in hence from time to time to see how I can help.

The task at hand is busting the biggest myths that have kept many bloggers mediocre and in bondage for years on end.

In the spirit of the season (and Sunday), kindly allow me to bind and cast grin
