Femeto: Make una no run this thing like Ikirun land case. More reason I don't like yoruba land. They wait till the Oba dies b4 they decide the next Oba. The Oba of Ikirun stool has been vacant for more than 8 months now. Several court cases after the previous king died. Just eight months of delay and you already hate Yorubaland your ancestral homeland. What if linger on like my hometown that span up to 24 years before they could install a new King? What could you say then? Obaship will continue to remain a tussle as long as the world remains. And in Yorubaland, it is difficult to have just one ruling house. Even if their is just one ruling house conflicts will emerged. |

dingbang: as in eh. Bunch of liars. They may not be lying as you might think. I do partly remote work also. At present, I have a deadline to meet. Be up since midnight working on delivering the work. The negative aspect of working from home is that you get easily distracted. Though it also has its positive side. But as someone state above, one social life drops, and the need to explain what you do to people when you are at home and people are wondering what keeps you at home all the time. |

chatinent: I am not concerned about Tinubu being president or not. I am concerned about who the vice president would be....make the vice no ruin Naija when en mah take over. That is not a big concern. There are core northern that are Christians. Such as Yakubu Dogara from Bauchi Boss Mustapha from Adamawa are all from the Northeast because it will be difficult to present a Northwest politicians as President or Vice President Candidates. So relax sir. Let us enjoy the political scheming of all time in the history of Nigeria politics. |

seguno2: Joke of the year? What promised land has he taken Lagosians since 1999? Over two decades of looting and reckless looting with little or nothing to show in free education for all children in quality government schools? Even light rail he failed to deliver. Something Jonathan did for Abuja and Kaduna railways in 5 years. What kind of suffered person makes a joke like this Hello sir, Have you at any time studied the Nigerian Constitution? Are you aware railway construction is under the Exclusive list, which belongs primarily to the Federal Government. So how do you expect Lagos the state government to perform a role not designated to them by the Constitution? This is just to enlightened you sir and nothing more. |

Politics › Re: Throwback Photo Of Alaafin Of Oyo, A Diviner And Legendary Capt. William A. Ross by bjnice(m): 7:52am On Nov 02, 2021 |
LegendHero: Let me translate it for you. I don’t know ami ohun much like that which explained why you might not understand it well. Also, I used a proper Oyo dialect.
—Oyo Alaafin (Oyo, the descendant of the Alaafin) —Ojo pa sekere omo atiba (Rain must not beat sekere, Son of Atiba) —Oyo nipe kolowo ko gbowo (Oyo said the creditor should collect his money) —Oni koni iwofa gba tire (He also went to tell the debtor (Iwofa - a system where people use their family as collateral to borrow money) not to pay his debt) —Ase kole ba di’ja, ko le ba daapon (Not knowing that the reason why Oyo did this is so that fight can happen) —Komo oba le ri ‘n muje (So the prince can eat) —Oyo gbin agbado oran seyinkule elenkule (Oyo planted a wicked mystery maize/corn of trouble at another man's backyard) —Elenkule o gbodo faatu, be ni ko si gbodo faaya (The owner must not uproot it, and he must not shred it) __Omo iku, tiku kogbódò pa (child of death who death cannot kill) ----Omo Arun, tarun kogbódò see (child of pestilence who cannot be tied down by sickness) ----Omo Ofo, tofo kogbódò see(child of calamity whom calamity can't afflict )
All this eulogy of Oyo is just showing the empire might. Imagine planting a corn/maize of trouble at the back of one’s compound and telling him not to uproot it nor shred it. Like you’re showing your might and power over them. Classical evidence of Hegemony theory. OYO empire at its zenith by then. The most prominent empire Empire in Nigeria. @Legendhero confirm Omo'Odua. Well done baba. |

Politics › Re: South-east Stop The Destruction And Chaos In Your Land. by bjnice(m): 9:51am On Oct 15, 2021 |
Hemanwel: OP, do you want to hear the truth? The truth about your post is that I didn't even understand the first paragraph of your write-up.
Having said that, me thinks basically that development is always elusive to any land or region where there is chaos, anarchy, civil unrests, violence, etc.
However, I want to believe what IPOB is fighting or agitating for is primarily EGALITARIANISM, EQUITY, FAIRNESS, AND JUSTICE. Seccessionism is secondary. It is visible to the blind, and audible to the deaf that the South-East region of Nigeria is highly marginalized. They are not carried along in the scheme of things in this country. When there is an unwritten agreement that the position of the president of this country should be rotated among the geopolitical zones in the country or among the major ethnic nationalities and it gets to their turn to produce the president and you say they cannot be trusted with power. What do you call that? And you expect them to seat back, fold their arms, and watch it slide away. It's not done!
Besides, the Nigerian government has proven again and again that only the violent get the things they want in this country.
My humble opinion, though! By your submission, the predicated killings are to coerce other regions to secede power to your region right? Were you guys truly marginalized? How come during Jonathan's era the cliche 'Marginalization' was not in your dictionary. Did you think this approach of yours will get you the needed trust to earn the presidency of Nigeria? And where was it stated that it is the turn of the Igbos? And what have you done politically to merit it? For your info, I am Afonja. That is why I asked. |

MoneyTrees: So it's also democracy to sell expired/sub-standard candidate to the masses as you guys did with Buhari? I am not impressed I thought that the high level of Education among SWners would be a positive tool towards the betterment of this Zoo of a country not knowing that these Men have forever chosen to be enslaved by their greed. Without making assumptions I don't know who you supported in the last US presidential election. Why did I say that is because both are advanced in years yet you still pick a side. But back at home(Nigeria) men of such age are considered expired products in your opinion. Is that not a double standard and by the way, when has age become a factor for good governance? Are you aware a presidential candidate must have a considerable level of popularity and political structure to win such a lucrative post. And for your information, the President seat is not about just speaking grammar or displaying intelligence alone that will grant people such a coveted seat. Ah, see me replying to someone who lives in the animal kingdom. Who does not understand what politics is about and feel he has a right to instruct an ethnic group that is far greater than his entire race(Igbo) to who they choose to support. Your race has become eternally irrelevant in the scheme of things. So I understand why you are pained, Unfortunately, your runaway Mazi the Chest beater is cooling in Kuje or DSS prison in Abuja. |
