Not working hard is the solution. Work smart.

Abeg my Noble people..... How long do you book hotel accommodation for visa application.

Please I need this question urgently.

Tell the college or Uni, they will sned you accomodation details, that was what they did during my time. Best of Luck

Chibabe4Christ:
My brother your story is touching...

Do not marry because of sentiment that will be your worst mistakes ever... but if you think you love her enough to settle down with her just go ahead.. Bible says he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtain favour from the Lord.
Your are very intelligent.. I will suggest you go for PHD and am optimistic you must get a good job there after.

Goodluck!!!!!

I am not intelligent, I am just smart and know how to balance life and pleasure, lastly, I don't delve into areas i don't know, i have basic knowledge of accounting from a young age.

Please how do they find out

Your PPS number is registered on the system. However what happens most time is that they check

1. Your cumulative annual hours
2. Your income shouldn't be more than 13-16k as a student
3. Your weekly hours
4. Your attendance at college

It all depends on the Gardi issuing the GNIB as that day
some don't even check while some check your transcript

What matters is don't try and fail masters or any course at all.

Congratulations on your 1st Class @Bjrokenhear003

And just to add...you can also apply for PhD in Ireland and on eures site. Might find grace to get a paid PhD. You Can also apply for Irish Research Scholarship. PhD years count towards one citizenship. Don't give up bro. You will surely win!

Thanks for your contribution, my brother. With PhD you get stamp 4 on completion which is so true. My last certificate in education is my ACCA, my mates are counting money and i should still be in education. Its not done like that. This degree i have acquired, I need to make use of it to get my initial investment, not rushing for another one. Them no born me to read and die lol

Hello, I’ve been offered provisional admission to UL in September 2020. How is the town in terms of student jobs? Also, is Limerick a rural town? Don’t mind my questions but help a brother clear all doubts

University of Limerick is okay compared to Griffith

First of all the town limerick is quite comfortable and not the hectic of Dublin life, Limerick is affordable in terms of housing compared to Dublin that 2 people will be in a room and paying 560 euros each monthly aside electricity. so how can you concentrate fully on school when bills are at your side.

UL in terms of education, i guess its not a private school which means they aren't out for profit. In Griffith it is pure profit, i had one friend who wrote a paoer and they claimed she failed, she had to force them to present her script and she calculated the marks, it was 51 but was scored 39.

The profit part also comes to play when a college like Griffith will grant an individual with no IT background to study Computer science, isnt that wickedness, that said individual will struggle to pass. It will now become very difficult to graduate. The sad part of it is on their website they said only 35 to 40 people will be in a classroom. To your surprise, it is above 75, how will they be proper engagement with the lecturer.

The last part is the college doesn't care, some people come to college on Saturdays, during my time i came to college first semester Monday - Friday and some days Saturdays. Is that proper, changing timetables and classrooms. Even the lecturers complain bitterly.

My last 3 paragraph spoke more on the standard of education, is it like that in UL. My friend in DIT have classes twice weekly, isn't that's how a masters program should be run. WE no longer undergraduates

I can go on and on

Bro, congratulations to u for graduating in flying colours... its not easy at all to make a First class degree. With ur complaints and dissatisfaction about ur present condition, why not try to migrate to other countries such as Canada and Australia through Permanent Residency. Having a Masters degree from a recognized country will help to smoothen the process. U can become a permanent resident in Canada with ur Masters degree. U don't need to put all ur eggs in one basket. U can port to another country with ur degree if u don't like Ireland anymore. Wish u all the best in your endeavors.

I don't know about Canada migration but are u sure it won't cost money because I can't afford to spend more funds atm on migrations to work factory or warehouse related jobs
Thanks a lot, i will google about it,
but if you have any related material I can read on it online, kindly paste it here

Thanks

Bro we are all in it together don't get yourself depressed be lucky you have a girl willing to marry you please do that ASAP once u have stamp 5 I bet u will get a good job.
Some of us are not as lucky as you are having eu babe but still earning small like u also having no hope of getting job that can sponsor your permit.
Ireland I say is a big scam for black as they hardly give us good work what most people do is get married or give birth to citizen for faster integration

Yes truly the stamp 1G is a scam, just luring international student to come spend their money.. The system is bleeped up, lately, i heard that they are also denying some few people renewal for their stamp 1G because they surpassed the 20 hours cap weekly

Bro my biggest fear is not settling down but at my place of work, my colleague has masters from DBS and is currently married to a black irish from ivory coast but he's a factory worker, although he had worked for facebook before on a contract role.

I am scared because has a stamp 4 but still on the job atm, he's having difficulties in getting another suitable role for 6 months now

I am scared but i really do care for her and wouldn't want to be giving excuses on why i am having difficulting meeting my own part of obligations when we finally settle down. Her parents advised me to find a job first then we marry which is ideal but all response is negative atm.

hi guys

Been a long time

i am indeed tired

Finally finished my Msc Accountiung and Finance from Griffith college with a H1(First Class)

I have a job i am currently managing and if i work 5 days i make about 350euros weekly and sometimes above, its a menial job inside the cold room(-3 degrees)

When i started the job initially, i enjoyed it, but i have goals and ambition as i dont want to stay in that job for a long time

Now my issue is all the company i am applying to need stamp 4, only big four and top investment banks and firms hire stamp 1G holders. A lot of international student suffer this issue ATM. Only few courses such as computer science land jobs before finishing college.

I have applied and truthfully i am getting tired of my life because i cant see myself as a factory worker anylonger, my body is getting weak as days go on

i am only 27 years old and i have bright future ambitions set for myself In terms of savings, i am close to zero as cost of living is high, spend about 500 euros on rent, transport 80 euros and feeding both at work and home 130 monthly, lyka 15 euros.

truthfully i am tired and falling into depression little by little, its only my GF who is black dutch who brings joy to me atm. She earns triple of what i make

I am wondering if i marry her, i will get the stamp4 but am i ready with savings of 1k now, although the govt in europe care for their citizens but i am in the middle of the sea. I love her and would want to settle with her, yet i want to know her deeper before marriage., i get the stamp in 4-6 months if i do it this December.Love is sweet when the both parties are comfortable

Now the thought is, if i don't secure a good job after settling down, what is left for me. I love her so much and she is very confident in me that I will make it but i am losing confidence in myself after so many rejections from different company's. I worked as an accountant in Nigeria for 3 years, so I'm not a fresh graduate.

My father didn't make me suffer one day, i still have inherited wealth of 30k euros in treasury bills, so i wouldn't want to bring children into this world to suffer them

I am tired truthfully and confused at this stage, i need help.

Msc fintech vs Msc enterprenurship in national college of ireland which is preferable in term of job prospects in ireland ...any ireland base person can give his advice highly appreciated

if you know you dont have passion for IT Or come from an IT field, please thinbk twice before you study fintech, my house mate studies it and everytime she crying, this her last semester on thesis, its just now she started working, since she been paying bills from money she brought from Nigeria

Entrepreneurship is okay as it is based more on assignment and just 1 exam for the semester but the otherwise for fintech, assignment up to 5 or 6 serious tasks and placed in groups and then exam

i will write my soujourn about living in Ireland and how true is it to get a white collar job after graduation before the end of this month because i'm writing my final paper on wednesday

From experience if you know you want to study, you can choose schools like GRIFFITH, NCI, TRINITY( In this school, their educational standard is very high. in summary ireland education standard is very hard), however if you coming for hustle, please choose DBS or DIT. Ireland is not a funny place in terms of bills. imagine cinema on Parnell street collects 12 euro per head for just a movie, bus fees 20 euros and house rent almost 500.
If you aren't ready to seriously multitask and be running from class to work or meeting up with deadline of assignment, group meetings, assignment plagarism issues etc choose a good college, make sure you check the course moodle and see if its something you can do. many people took extension but i made up my mind that i was going to survive it. Imagine yesterday crazy exam at GRIFFITH and then today submission of project proposal to moodle link and how you discussing with your supervisor

funny enough i still owe my landlady house rent of 100 euros because i was reading for exam and couldn't work, shes coming for my head today, transport was on my guys this week because no cash. lol

Wish you best of luck

I read your post and ordinarily I would have chosen turn a blind eye to it but for sake of clarity to those intending to come study here in Ireland, it would be a disservice to them if I remain mute. In as much as I reckon with you on certain constraints you made mention of here, it is not enough to draw to conclusion that there isn't better prospects schooling here in Ireland. For the record, I am not on the pay roll of the Irish government and I am not in anyway holding brief for them. So also, my write up is entirely my own personal opinion based on experience here in Dublin.

The truth is, there is no where on planet earth where you get things on a platter of gold. Even in freetown, Serria Leone, nothing is free there too. While I agree with you that Dublin as a city may have it's down sides, but choose to see the good sides too. You are a product of your thought.

ACCOMMODATION IN DUBLIN.

Its no longer news that Dublin is the most expensive city to live in Europe. Irish times even confirmed that too but the truth is there are other affordable and decent accommodation you can live in which will cost you between 380 and 400 euros monthly here in Dublin. I am saying this cause I witnessed a friend settle for that. It is very tidy, organised and could be likened to private university hostels in Nigeria. I didn't go for that's cause I already got a place in Dublin before then. You made mention in your write up of paying exorbitant rent as high as 700euros or there about. Oga, what happened to the mantra which says 'cut your coat according to your size? Even in Nigeria, America, Ghana or anyway else in the world, there is social strata which everyone falls into.

Before you left Nigeria, I guess you were amongst those who believed that once you get to Europe, you will pick euros on the streets. I am sorry if reality is far different now. The truth is, I work tirelessly round the clock here and blending same with my studies too. I have a part time job and also picked a night based job without tax as a Valetta. No European will do such job so I picked it. I am proud of it cause it pays my bills and gives me something to save as well. Come to think of it brother, where in the world is life seamless? Is it Nigeria, America or UK? I have an uncle who schooled in the US and today is a journalist in Manhattan, NY. He hasn't sent anything back home. He keeps complaining just like you are doing now as well. Complain hasn't helped anyone. Hardwork pays. There are lots of opportunities here in Dublin. Please look round and you will start finding such opportunities. I for myself I already have a clear road map here. I am already thinking of what I will delve into once I graduate since I am not allowed for now to be self employed on a stamp 2 visa.

Is Nigeria any better? Why don't you cut your spending drastically and work real hard. I mean real hard. To me, every Nigerian student here is a brother. I am using this medium to extend my hand of fellowship to you. Come let me introduce you to the world of hardwork which pays. We can together structure your time, plan your expenses and discuss a whole lot. As in brain Storm and share ideas together. I laughed when I read your post about racism in the house you live. Yours is small compared to what I face here. I am the only black guy in my apartment and worst still from Nigeria. I no send them ooo...I use schooling and hustling as tactics to ignore them. Most times I come home in the middle of the night after work and leave quite early to school in the morning. So I hardly have time for them. The truth is, it's not easy here but there are lots of opportunities. I mean it bro. That your friends graduated and returned to Nigeria doesn't mean your story will be same. As our faces differs, so those our destinies.
If you personally want proof, I can show you how much I have been able to remit home barely studying here for less than 3 months. I mean I achieved such feet with hustling and above all God's grace.
Stay strong and positive bro. That's the Nigerian spirit. Our leaders have failed us. You can't afford to fail your own children too.
To other serious and hardworking Nigerians willing to survive legally here in DUBLIN, please feel free to get in touch with me once you get here. Again, it's not easy but with sheer commitment and determination you will make it here. I mean real big. I am using myself as case study. That's why I have no intimate friend here or any thing bothering me. I made it so so that I can face the real purpose why I am here.

Please see the opportunity abound anywhere you are. Opportunities lies everywhere. The time to grab it is now or never!!!

Don't get me wrong Mr,
Everyone is entitled to their opinion,
everybody came here to hustle not to pick money on the street of dublin

You are allowed to work this extent because of your timetable flexibility, how is it possible when u have classes 5 days a week and sometimes night tutorial join, can u work under such condition. I have friends in DBS who ball hard, one is currently in UK as i am speaking to u, one works more than 20 hrs a week and receives cash from other employer, one of very few cases that employer will pay cash. us in Griffith where is the time to do so or even go look for more jobs when u have assignment piling up with project which they insist we get a topic and write to submit next year January.

Everybody knows the saying, cutting your coat to your size, what matters is, the place u stay how far is it from college, can u meet up with class, how far is it from work before you start saying cut your coat to your size.

we are two who stay in a room and i pay 450euros monthly on my part but if i leave here, how many mins to work, how many mins to school is what you will check. ARE THERE AVAILABLE JOBS TO DO, yes in some areas, how fast can i get another accommodation(DEPENDS ON HOW LUCKY I AM, MIGHT BE THE NEXT DAY OR 3MONTHS)

Its very hard to see a company that pays cash in dublin, all company pay into your bank account, why will i want to risk that and beat the immigration rules working more than 20hrs a week and don't get a renewal to hustle money i burnt here before leaving Ireland is the major concern if work no sure.

Racism is strong, very strong especially if u staying with psychopaths. I have friends in Canada and i know their hustle is very legit and within 6months they start importing cars to Nigeria etc, here u are working for the SYSTEM and only with little savings of 100 or 150 monthly while schooling, many people in my class haven't gotten a job and them complaining how will they pay their January rent.

Please I'm not saying this to spoil anybody business, most people need to be enlightened and for people here, if they have found away around the system, they can enlighten others as we are all brothers and sisters in oyibo land

IF U WORK MORE THAN 20HRS A WEEK, HOW DO U DO IT WITHOUT BREAKING UR VISA RULES ASIDES FOR CASH PAYMENT ?

YOU SEE GRIFFITH AND NCI, just stay away from both of them if u are not loaded, they will kill u with so much course work, as i am doing assignment i am typing this reply

Bro which school are u?

GRIFFITH
When they are doing their marketing, it will be like na heaven u want to enter, nobody will tell u about the housing issue till u come here, nobody will tell u about the GNIB and re-entry visa till u come

They will paint it like u have entered milk and butter.

Calculate it
Income : 9.55 * 20hrs * 4weeks = 764
tax (2-5%) :
Expenses
Accomodation - 400-450-500
light- 20
bus only - 80
with tramp - 40
feeding - 80

With this u can do ur calculation for 40hrs and see if it suites u

Bross Weldon ,,

Please I want to ask about the guys that left after their msc due to no work, are they single?
Also, I think the 2years post study just started 2017,does it mean they have exhausted the two years and no work either,
What is faith of married parsons trying to reunite??

a)They are single young guys
b)i don't know much about married people trying to unite, but from people say its only after the course completion and u are gainfully employed, earning above a specified amount, then u can import or take your partner.
c)they stayed in the country working menial jobs to survive, they couldn't continue health wise because of the stress in their laborer jobs, they left Ireland after much search for a better accounting job.

Please don't get me wrong, people get jobs in PWC , EY, KPMG,AMAZON, Facebook etc even before graduation, it depends either u registered for ACCA or you came out with a 1st class when your result been converted, then chances are high you get the job.

Unlike Canada and the U.S thread.

However the people that have gotten to ireland, share your experience so far. The city at night, Lectures, food, transport, part-time jobs.

Thanks.
To be truthful, ireland is totally bleeped... i am in ireland everyday and the cost of living here is something else. To get GNIB appointment na GOLD, took me 3 months to get mine and still bills must be paid,Rent like 800 euros and above if you want to stay by yourself, don't get me wrong you can get for 500-700euros but u go tire to find. How much do u earn 9.55 euros an hour and only required to work for 20 hours a week with tax to pay around 2-5%. Transport a week in dublin about 20 euros, feeding never join. There are menial jobs eg, warehousing and picking fruits about 10euros per hour, if you go there u go see men with red passport still dey do warehouse jobs & the next day body go wan break, other jobs kitchen porter, cleaner, waiter etc. racism na another level especially in my house, things i don't do they go report to landlady. December dey come now for someone to work 40hrs, no time sef to go hustle join because exams is in January, u choose to do well in exams or work 40hours. I feel if u earn above 180k in Nigeria as a bachelor or spinster, no need to leave that job, i made a mistake ever coming here, na canada sure pass but since i am here, i will make good use of it.

Don't ask me about the 2 years, 3 people who finished from griffith college 1 Msc Accounting and finance, 2 International Business, don return back to Nigeria as no job show after the 2 years.

Yeah if u are applying to other countries, just state ur previous visa refusals if they ask u to. For example Ireland requires u state ur previous visa refusals and explain the refusal and also attach the refusal letter to ur application. Make sure u declare all previous visa refusals.

and to add if your visa refusal document are missing, do the following

1) Get original police report
2. Get original sworn affidavit(not the road side own of 1k, get the one with the red stamp and registered)
3).Explain the reasons why you were refused quoting each year and why or how it got lost
4) Try contacting the embassy where u were refused through mail, visitation
5) If no 4 fails, please send them a request for your refusal letter using a registered courier that can be tracked online (e.g courierplus) and quote tracking number on your cover letter
6) Say nothing but the truth because they have your records, so please don't lie at all

wish u all the best, going off the forum for some time, have serious work to do before mid of july.

I am sure you have been given the visa already cos they have checked your application and satisfied with you just waiting for issuing period so before the end of this month you are gonna hear from them
