We are waiting and not praying for another round of disappointment.
The only reason I want to see Aquaman is the director - James Wan.
I like his work in Conjuring franchise and Fast and Furious 7.
I just hope WB won't mess up his work.

The problem with professional critics is that they expect too much. Not every movie has to be intellectual to be good. Not every movie director can pull a Chris Nolan. I pay their half-baked opinions no mind.
Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and IMDb user reviews cannot all be wrong at the same time.
Even the reviews on social media from people who saw the movie at the premier ( I'm talking about normal critics this time not professionals) are mostly negative.

All these people cannot be wrong at the same time.

Venom is getting negative reviews from different sets of people.
Looking for someone praising Venom is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

The only people defending Venom are butt hurt fanboys who can't come to terms with the reality that the movie they expected to be good is getting so much hate and negative vibe.

Ever since the negative reviews came out, they have been restless, grabbing straws and looking for every opportunity to defend Venom.
They have blamed critics, lady gaga fans and fake bots.

With the way Venom is getting trash talk from different sets of people, I'm convinced that the movie is rubbish and I will advice anyone who hasn't seen it to lower expectations to the barest and tinniest minimum.

The reviews are not just negative, they are brutal and disastrous as well.

Knowing Sony's history at being bad at anything not Spiderman, anybody who had high hopes for Venom must be on a long thing.

But why do Chelsea fans hate Neymar so much, any time Hazard is doing well someone will say he's better than Neymar and then start mocking Neymar.
I have noticed this trend one too many times from Chelsea fans.

Napoli as a team will give Liverpool more problem than psg which is a club with some players trying to show the world that they are the best. The bottom line is that Liverpool are not as good as they think they are and they will learn that in the coming weeks.
Over sabi, you remind me of United fans of early last season.

Ximenez:
It was Liverpool fans that were being delusional, maybe because of the media hype or whatever. Before the first game one overly excited fan even said Liverpool reserve team would tear Chelsea apart over both legs, that's how good they think they are. Not forgetting they finished fourth last season and had to wait till the last match day to qualify for UCL. They've gotten a reality check. Napoli will carry on from here.
Maybe before the first game, Liverpool fans were noisy but after that game Chelsea fans were very noisy and overconfident of beating Liverpool today.
One of them said Pool are not title contender anymore just because of that loss.
And that loss was in league cup not freaking PL.
What kind of fan would rule out his closest rivals in PL after only 6 games shocked

All the over sabi fans of any team should take a few lessons from United of last season.
That team had a strong start and what happened later ?
They finished 19 points behind City.

In conclusion, it is not about who started best, it's about who finished best.

You have already ruled out the possibility of Liverpool beating Napoli.
This is an example of the over sabi mentality I'm talking about.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Vs Liverpool (1 - 1) On 29th September 2018 by BlackManta(m):
Raise your hand if you thought Liverpool will loose to Chelsea twice in the same week. grin
Chelsea fans and overconfidence shasha cheesy
What you played was league cup, this is premier league.
The way Chelsea fans were insulting Liverpool on Wednesday, I thought Chelsea had already won again today even before match started.
All that noise before this match and for what ,I just checked table and Liverpool is topping them grin
Chelsea fans should calm down abeg, beating Liverpool in league cup does not make Chelsea a better title contender than Liverpool.
Both teams are still hustling, only 7 games played and 31 more to go.

For me the PL title is a 3-horse-race between City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

I don't know about Arsenal but I bet with my life, they will surprisingly finish above United and finish in top 4.

Man City is on top now.
Last season they won 18 games in a row in PL.

Any team that is stupidly making noise after 7 games should match City's feat first of all.

SEARCH FOR THE TRIDENT

In a sequence from the second act of Aquaman, Arthur is found sleeping on a plane high above a desert. This desert, which resembles the Sahara with tall sand dunes, was once a part of Atlantis. The pilot is startled when Mera, followed by Arthur, jumps from the plane without a parachute.

One after the other, the two characters land in the sand with the sound of missiles crashing into the ground accompanying their impact. The two bicker during their journey through the desert with touches of campy lines being spewed from Arthur's mouth. As his negativity regarding the search arises, he stumbles upon an opening in the sand dunes and falls in.

Inside, there are several Atlantean statues and relics surrounding the two characters, until they discover a hologram of their late king. It required water to activate, which Arthur thinks could have been solved by peeing on it, but Mera pulls water from Arthur's head using her aquakinetic powers, claiming he was the closest source.

The king's hologram instructs Arthur to find the trident, just before he smashes the message. Mera would have liked to hear the message again, listening more carefully and perhaps writing down the instructions, but Arthur didn't find it necessary.

ORM VS. ARTHUR

In Atlantis, a location filled with orange and blue glows, Mera pleads with Orm to stop what he is doing. He won't, though, citing the fact that his mother isn't here, before Mera is escorted by Vulko to Atlantis' equivalent to a box seat in their gladiatorial arena.

Ahead of their fight, Arthur arrives beneath the arena with Orm. Orm jets up above him, though, preventing Arthur from sending the message he was hoping to deliver: Orm is a d---. Orm reveals a plan to bring the "wrath of the seven seas" to land to payback land dwellers for their pollution and selfish negligence.

As Arthur preps for battle, Orm rallies the entire arena and its fans. It is clear that the Atlantean people are in his corner and support his cause. If it wasn't, it became more transparent when Arthur was greeted by rousing boos.

The scene is detailed by an octopus playing the drums, giant jellyfish floating nearby offering a compelling lighting scheme, and detailed Atlantean civilians enjoying the battle. While Arthur will fight with his mother's quindent, Orm has his father's weapon. A fight ensues with the two zipping through the water, pounding each other back and forth, moving as though they were flying.

After colliding head on, a massive explosion booms through the arena, causing a silent pause before the crowd erupts with cheers. Ultimately, the fight takes the two competitors out of the arena, where Orm bests Arthur and breaks his Quindent. As he is about to finish him, Mera interferes despite Arthur's wishes, forcing an opening under the water with air which causes Orm to lose his breathe and start coughing up water.

Spoilers follow as the three new scenes from Aquaman are detailed below

SPOILERS ALERT. SPOILERS ALERT. SPOILERS ALERT

ATLANNA'S OPENER

During a storm in Amnesty Bay in 1985, Atlanna, the Queen of Atlantis washes ashore. Momoa's Arthur Curry narrates the film, informing the audience of his family's history.

Upon a closer look, Atlanna is revealed to have a gash on her side. This is where Arthur's father finds her, before bringing her home to offer help. When she arrives, the power goes out. Later, though, she wakes up startled by the sound of the television, so she launches her quindent straight through it. She is, almost literally, a fish out of water.

"Life, like the sea, has a way of bringing people together," Arthur says.

She has some off-putting interactions with John (the lighthouse keeper)'s dog and fish bowl but it comes to be revealed she fled a marriage while searching for something. Instead, she found love with John, which is what lead to Arthur's birth.

Arthur grows up hearing stories of Atlantis, understanding that one day a new king will come to Atlantis.

FIRST ATLANNA FIGHT & HER DEPARTURE

The peaceful seaside home is obliterated in an instant, both figuratively and (at least somewhat) literally. As one wall of the house explodes from an outside attack, the armed guards of Atlantis arrive reciting orders to take Atlanna into custody and return her to Atlantis. The shot of an Atlantean boot crushing a family photo now tossed to the floor isn't exactly subtle, but it gets the point across. Atlanna tells Tom to toss her the quindent she brought with her to shore, and flee with Arthur to safety.

What follows next is an extended fight sequence as Atlanna dismantles the Atlanteans one by one, punctuated by a single long take, following Atlanna as she leaps and slides from one side of the house to the other, kicking, punching, and using her enemies' weapons against them. Eventually, she has subdued every Atlantean... but the point is still made: this home is no longer safe, so long as she lives there. Returning to the Atlantean bodysuit she arrived in, Atlanna gives Arthur and Tom one last embrace, leaves behind her quindent, and promises her husband that she will return when it's safe.

Each day, John returns to the pier where he said goodbye to her, hoping she will return to him.

After the opening sequence concludes, the film jumps ahead in time to a sequence at the Boston Aquarium, where Arthur appears to discover his ability of communicating with underwater creatures.

The film is criminally overrated. There is nothing special about it. The whole feminist, girl power BS was embarrassing. I cringed the whole thing.
This is why I mentioned personal opinions and preferences.

Now this is your personal opinion... nothing more.

A lot of people liked the movie btw.

I'm of the opinion that just because WW was a success shouldn't prompt DC and Marvel to start dishing out female led movies anyhow.

A Marvel exec...the Kevin guy once said that very soon we will have more female led movies than males in MCU...now this is something I don't agree to.

A commodity becoming a commercial success doesn't always translate to a good product. Wonder Woman may have done well in the box office, but I felt like the film didn't really differentiate itself from other colossal f**k-ups like Man of Steel and BvS in the sense they all had great potential and some good moments, but were ultimately bogged down by sub-par script.

For the record, I think only a few superhero films are truly great. Most of them, including Wonder Woman fall in the category of being "serviceable" to "okay".
Just say you don't like the movie undecided
No one will flog you.

WW is a critical and box office success hands down.

You are only telling me why you don't like WW, of course I won't force you to like anything...na your personal preferences... nothing more.

But that doesn't make WW an outright failure by any means simply because it didn't suit your taste undecided

Wonder Woman is a much bigger icon than Captain Marvel will ever be.
That is why she was given the feminist glory.
She's the biggest female hero in comic books even before 2017, I don't think any other female comes close.

Not to sh*t on DCEU, but Wonder Woman isn't a success. At least not for me and friends.
If Wonder Woman was a failure as you are claiming, Marvel won't bother making Captain Marvel.

Even MCU executives openly admitted that Wonder Woman success inspired them to make Captain Marvel.

I said..They openly admitted it !!!

Wonder Woman proved that female superhero could still work especially when we've had failures like Electra and Catwoman.

The movie was a box office success and critical success as well.

So unless you got a new definition for failure...roll over pls.

This Captain Marvel trailer is very bland. Hope this movie go make sense oo
The trailer is boring.
Marvel wants to replicate DC's Wonder Woman by producing their very first female superhero movie.
After the success of Wonder Woman, female heroes seems to be a risk worth taking now.

They also want to give Black Widow her own movie.
I hope they don't end up getting their fingers burnt.

You damn right.
Cavill is still Superman.
They just having issues with his contract and uncertain future in DC.
WB wanted him to cameo in Shazam, that is how issue of contract arose and the media is blowing everything out of proportion.
Until WB or Cavill officially call it quits, I will not believe anything the media sells to us.

About Afleck.
Ben is still Batman.
Any report of Ben quiting Batman is fake rumors and speculations.

The only report that is 100% true is that Matt Reeves is casting a younger Batman for the movie.
The Batman movie is set in his younger years, long before MOS and BVS.
So it pretty reasonable that a 40+ year old Ben won't be the major Batman character.
He might still appear in future Batman films cuz he is yet to quit.

I'm not.
People want Idriz Elba to become the first black Bond.
The agitation for a black Bond is a complete failure, that's why I think a push for Black Superman won't work.

We're kinda saying the same thing. You were just sounding as if the racial profile of Kryptonians was set in stone.
Most of the fans would be pissed, yeah. But this is the age of political correctness where people don't want to be seen as racist or bigots. Next thing you know, the black community will start agitating for a black Superman. Feminists will want Superman rebooted as Superwoman, Clarice Kent or Kallie-El. Something like that. Before you know it, the fans opinions will be drowned out. So let's hope the SJWs don't win. It just takes a stroke of pen to change everything
In a world where we're struggling to get a black James Bond, I take consolation in the fact that Superman will never be a black man anytime soon.

God kn0ws i won't waste my time watching a supergirl, batgirl, batwoman or harlequin movie.
After the success of Wonder Woman coupled with the new aura of feminism in Hollywood, female superheroes are a priority now.
Marvel wants to bank on it with Captain Marvel and DC is eager to introduce another female hero.

Harley Quin is never getting a solo film.
She is tied with Bird Of Prey and Suicide Squad 2.

But since Superman future is uncertain and MOS 2 is not on the horizon, I think bringing a fresh kryptonian into the spotlight is not a bad idea.

After WW success, another female hero was always gonna debut on big screen and I think Supergirl is the right choice.

Emma Watson is perfect for the role.

There is no way you can change their skin to black without disrespecting the source material and incuring the anger and backlash from fans.

If the producers at Warner bros didn't see the writing on the wall all these while, afflecks and cavills exit would be the nail on the coffin for the DCEU. It all started out great and Im a major DC fan. I love VERTIGO and read all the major comic series but the movies have been a major turn offor for me. First the critics went after the tone of the movies saying it was too dark. I didn't mind the darkness matter of fact I enjoyed it. It was nice seeing something serious unlike marvels comedy approach. The producers were all in a rush to establish a universe like the mcu, they prolly forgot marvel had almost ten years and a ton of standalone movies to give their heroes life and realness . Most of the WB producers hadn't even picked up a comic book coupled with the constant studio interference and lazy writing the DCEU has now become a major joke.

But there's still hope. We are still relatively new and have nothing to lose. If anything these exits can help us put our house in order. If I were in charge I'll call up the producers and directors of the DC animated universe and make theme in charge of the movies. Those guys are making me proud and are miles ahead of marvel. Also create a CRISIS like event to reset the universe like everyone dies and Dr Manhattan appears in the end and fixes the entire universe by rebooting it all over. I believe he's that strong

Then we stick to standalone movies that allow creativity.
ALSO bring back the darkness. Ditch the marvel style humour. We have to be good in our own unique way.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.
The world isn't ready for a serious and realistic take on superhero cinema.
The world wants jokes, comedy and the Marvel way.
I'm a big fan of DC dark tone, too bad they are moving away from it. cry
