Goke7: stop the blackmail please, the NDA ish is about the FG dropping all charges of corruption against all persons from the Niger delta region. It has nothing to do with federalism or ownership of oil blocks. Reason they are not interested in dialogue, even the FG knows this. There is no need for dialogue, they have listed their demands, how many have been attended to? The marine university, what about it? Has nnamdi kanu been released? The oil blocks, how many licences have been repealed?, What about true federalism? Instead buhari rubbed the sheit on their faces and told the world that he had trashed the confab report! Tell me what more dialogue they need? Attend to the most important and reasonable demands of theirs and you will see the bombings go away. You are too blind a follower, wisen up!!! |

FYI i have supported true federalism right from the onset, if i may ask what made Jonathan call for a National conference? it is because of our false unity and agitations, why didn't he implement it? Well, the adopted policies of the national confab didn't favor the north, so they fought tooth and nail to delay it until Jonathan was defeated. It came as no surprise to me when buhari said he was trashing the national cofab report, in other words he was speaking for the north. The matter is getting worse day by day, and buhari seem not moved by it.
Sometimes i wonder why the federal government which has a big imprint of the north is afraid of true federalism, what are they scared of, because the last time i checked nigerians (south) have screamed , yelled and even protested for it. We all know and even the government knows that true federalism will stop the myriad of problems facing nigeria, there will be less agitation and massive development .
With true federalism, i believe the north can be far greater and more richer than it is today. But will the northern oligarchs allow it? Can mere protest move the government to consider true federalism? The answer is, capital NO for both questions.
I don't support NDA destructive tendencies but a part of me is happy because i see the nigerian government forced to consider true federalism with a 50/50 sharing fomular. And to add to true federalism, all political prisoners must be released eg: kanu in order to quell agitations and unwanted protest.
In true FACT, NDA is the intelligent group here, far intelligent than the federal government of Nigeria because their demands is the medicine to Nigeria's sickness. |
Politics › Foreign Refineries To Stop Buying Nigeria’s Crude Oil Due To NDA Attacks by blackmatter007(op): 6:30am On Jun 09, 2016 |
NIGER Delta Avengers, NDA, yesterday, scuttled the hope of early resolution of the current spate of bombings in the Niger Delta, as it did not only reject the window created for dialogue by the Federal Government, but also blew up another Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, crude oil pipeline in Delta State.
This came on a day indications emerged that Nigeria’s crude oil export may drop further in the days ahead, as major refineries across the globe have concluded plans to stop purchase of crude oil from Nigeria due to rising uncertainties about the country meeting up with deliveries.
The latest attack came as a bombshell to the governors of oil producing states, who met, Tuesday, in Abuja with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, service chiefs and other functionaries on how to end pipeline attacks in the troubled region.
Government had announced a two-week ceasefire on Monday to build confidence in the militants for negotiation.
Militants blow up another Chevron pipeline in Delta
But in a tweet that blatantly negated government’s goodwill, the militant group said yesterday: “This is to inform the general public that we are not negotiating with any committee. If Federal Government is discussing with any group, they’re doing that on their own.
“At 1:00 a.m today (yesterday), the Niger Delta Avengers blew up Well RMP 20 belonging to Chevron, located 20 metres from Dibi flow station in Warri North Local Government Area.”
A source familiar with the location told Vanguard, at about 5.45 a.m., that the affected crude oil pipeline is between Opia and Dagbolo villages in Warri North
Confirming the latest attack, a security source said: “Yes, there was an attack this (yesterday) morning by militants on a Chevron facility.
“The pipeline had earlier been attacked by militants using the same modus operandi, which is with the use of dynamite.
The attack was carried out at about 1:00 a.m.” According to the Chevron staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the company will draft a team of technicians to the spot to assess the extent of damage.
A community source, who spoke to Vanguard shortly after a joint team of CNL, soldiers and private security outfit visited the bombed site, said if the plan of the militants had succeeded, the entire Dibi flow station, which had several crude oil and gas components, would have been set ablaze.
At last Tuesday’s meeting in Abuja, the governors allegedly made a compelling case for the Federal Government to cease military operations in the area, which was heating up the polity, and asked it to find a middle ground with the militants, among other things.
Foreign refineries to stop buying Nigeria’s crude oil
The restive situation in the region may lead to a further drop in crude oil export as major refineries across the globe have concluded plans to stop the purchase of the commodity from Nigeria due to rising uncertainties about the country meeting up with deliveries.
This is arising from the fact that a number of oil companies in Nigeria had declared force majeure of crude oil export, while a few others had been forced to suspend or cut production as a result of the bombing of oil facilities across the Niger Delta.
According to data obtained from Reuters, four of Nigeria’s oil grades, including the largest stream, Qua Iboe, have been under force majeure over the last one month.
Force majeure is a legal clause that allows companies to cancel or delay deliveries due to unforeseen circumstances. The report stated that despite the fact that ExxonMobil, which declared force majeure on Qua Iboe in May due to an accident, lifted the declaration last week, the unpredictability is too much for some buyers.
The report further stated that refineries on the United States’ east coast were beginning to turn away from Nigerian crude oil, noting that these same refineries had been on a buying spree for Nigerian crude in recent months that averaged 240,000 barrels per day (bpd) in April and May. As a result, the report said differentials to dated Brent for Qua Iboe, Bonny Light and other grades were under downward pressure, adding that there were several unsold cargoes for June loading.
Accordin to the report, the reduced demand means Nigeria is not benefiting as much as others from a rebound in Brent crude prices at current rate of over $51, which is partly driven by its own oil outages, stating that the reluctance of the refineries to buy Nigeria’s crude oil was limiting the prices Nigeria could get for its oil, even as there was less of it.
Specifically, the report stated that India’s HPCL was forced last month to cancel a vessel it chartered to carry two million barrels of West African crude due to the Qua Iboe force majeure, while India’s state-run Indian Oil Corporation Limited, a major buyer of Nigerian grades over the past year, had stated in its recent tenders that it would not take grades under force majeure, with Qua Iboe remaining off the list of the company.
Indonesia’s Pertamina, another frequent buyer, the report added, had also chosen not to buy Nigerian grades in its recent tenders, favouring Congolese Coco, Angolan Girassol and Saharan Blend from Algeria instead.
The report quoted oil traders as saying that Pertamina had shifted its preferences since the violence and uncertainty escalated, while Senior Vice President of the company, Daniel Purba, said the company was monitoring Nigeria, but noted that the situation was still currently not affecting crude purchasing.
Commenting on the development, one oil trader on the US east coast said: “When you plan your crude run months in advance and commit buying cargo, you need to be comfortable that the cargo will be there when you go to lift.” Similarly, Elizabeth Donnelley, Assistant Head of the Africa Programme at Chatham House, said: “The nature of the recently re-emerged militancy in the Niger Delta suggests it is here to stay for the foreseeable future.”
Also speaking, Olivier Jakob, Managing Director of PetroMatrix in Switzerland, said “not everybody wants to be caught up in that, so they will avoid it. The refineries will walk away from it.”
In a similar development, senior economist at Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp, Takayuki Nogami, lamented, yesterday, that the recent fall in the Japanese oil market was a result of supply disruptions in Nigeria and Canada, following the Niger Delta militant activities. Nogami, in a statement, pointed out that the Japanese economy was on the double at the first quarter and was slow on consumer spending and weak exports which it experienced lately.
According to the statement, a downturn in the US crude inventories was noticed as the company expressed concern over attacks on Nigeria’s oil industry. Stakeholders ask militants to dialogue However, Niger Delta activist, Ann Kio Briggs; Ijaw community leader and Chief Favour Izuokumor advised the militant group to embrace dialogue.
Militants should embrace dialogue , Ann Kio Briggs, who hailed the two-week ceasefire in a chat with Vanguard before Avengers discarded government’s olive branch, said: “Definitely, it is good news in the sense that in the search for some individuals, they have gone into some communities, including their return to Gbaramatu, despite claims that they had earlier pulled out.
“Therefore, if truly the Federal Government is sincere in what it has said and if the military would obey the Federal Government, because that is another thing, then, of course, it is welcome news. “If you look at the whole bulk of the Niger Delta, the people have suffered tremendously and you cannot deny the fact that there are a lot of issues on ground about the injustice that the people of the region have suffered and this injustice must be addressed. “
The only way to address them is to make sure that the injustices are corrected and to do this, the issues of fiscal federalism, ownership and the people being able to develop themselves must be addressed. “If I was the government, the discussion should not be only with the Niger Delta, but should also take this opportunity to reach out to the Middle Belt and other regions who are agitating.” Buhari has shown commitment —Izuokumor Activist and Ijaw community leader, Chief Favour Izuokumor, who also hailed the ceasefire, said it was a bold commitment by President Buhari and urged the militants to take advantage of the window to dialogue. Advising government not to politicize the talks, he stressed the need to invest in the intelligence arm of the nation’s security network to overcome current security challenges facing Nigeria, particularly the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta. Izuokumor, spokesperson of Ogbe-ljoh/Warri Kingdom, said: “As the Niger Delta Avengers has failed to toe the line of negotiation, the Federal Government is expected to, without delay, begin to match words with actions by calling all stakeholders and regional leaders to a roundtable to dialogue on some pertinent issues as they affect the Niger Delta people.”
Omare denies sponsoring Avengers
Meanwhile, a former Commissioner for Environment in Delta State, Chief Frank Omare, has denied online report which fingered him of sponsoring the Avengers and communal crisis between his community, Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja. In a petition to the police, the former commissioner, said: “I wish to state clearly and in unequivocal terms that I do not know any member of Niger Delta Avengers. I am also not one of the sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers, as I have no reason to do so. “I also did not hold any meeting with members of the Niger Delta Avengers or anybody whatsoever at Ogulaha or any other community on how to attack and wipe out Aladja. “In the past seven years that I have been in the Delta State government, I have used my position to promote peace and harmonious relationship between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja. ‘’Former Governors James Ibori, Emmanuel Uduaghan and the present governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, can testify to this fact.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/foreign-refineries-stop-buying-nigerias-crude-oil-militants-rebuff-dialogue/ |

This nigga didn't say shitt! I couldn't place my head on exactly the point he was driving at, he wrote like a kid who learnt new words and wanted to brag about his new knowledge by writing an essay. Northerners are quotarized humans no doubts Nasman: Our Collective Barbarism
Its not for any joy that I have to state the gory obvious, it's to challenge a wrong rhetoric of monopolized barbarism in Nigeria. For those who don't know, let them know. And for the Northern bigots who have never crossed River Niger and the southern empty heads who haven't seen beyond River Benue but still authoritatively report what they don't know at the other end, let them know that hatred never changes fact. As Obama said "it's just not cool to not know about what you are saying". It's just boring, and irritating.
How much do you know Nigeria? Do you know more than a southern Nigerian elderly woman I met here in Kaduna recently who called all Northerners (myself inclusive) nomads that kill for their animals? Or much better than a Kaduna kid who wondered how I am a Muslim and a corps member at the same time. Certainly another stupid adult concluded that Islam is ethnic and in the North only and since most corps members serving in the North are from South, all of them can't be Muslims. Unfortunately that was uploaded to the boy's young brain. Nonsense.
Back to what we all share most- violence. And barbarism. It's a simple law of nature that humans find what they see, hear, feel, experience, or do frequently normal. The problem with law of attraction (another indispensable order) is it doesn't discriminate. As such kicking an animal, slapping an innocent kid, beating helpless wife and using any weapon on another human being will all transmit same signal in the brain i.e. Violence. And as this happens again and again, it turns normal to the society. Then it grows, into merciless beating with sticks, then cutting knife, then shooting with gun, then mass killing with bomb.
Kidnapping. Suicide bombing. Armed robbery. Cultism. Jungle justice. Lynching. Domestic violence. Rape. Do they have differences? Or are they peculiar to one region of the country?
I have even observed how some reactionists among us feel it's their duty to share a story of rape or kidnapping of it is reported from "the other" part of the country. Haha. Which difference will that make? Will sharing a story of sexual abuse by an Enugu pastor change NDLEA report of high drug abuse in Kano (among housewives)? Are we competing for evil?
Are we different from other human beings? No. The so called advanced are such because they are controlled, by law and order. We have laws too. So what happens? Our laws have limit and they select who to punish and what the punishment is depending on phenotypes. And our media, that supposed watchdog, is our greatest misfortune. All groups of humans are controlled by 2 things; conscience and law. We lack both.
Let our shared barbarism not be allocated to one part of the country, ever again. We are collectively ruthless and lawless, it's just that the trigger differs. I am still confused too if collective hunger and ignorance are somewhere in the equation. What I am very sure of is there are less educated and poorer countries that do better in respecting human dignity.
And the solution is simple; law and order. Since we fail to teach our kids to have good conscience or faith in God beyond religious lip service, let few scapegoats go to prison or made to pay huge fine. At least, children will grow learning that if you break traffic rule, you pay fine to government, and not bribe to cops.

Why do you yorubas run away from restructuring? All you yap about is 13% derivation. Please keep your unity to yourself, we can never be one in this country, the milk has gone sour already. changeagent: [s]The major setbacks to Nigeria progress and development are religion and tribal differences and it has cut across every sector in Nigeria including Nairaland. I almost shed tears this evening when I was analysing the situation of this country with a colleague. A Muslim man will not condemn a Muslim leader who has failed to do what is expected of him because of the religion affiliation. A Christian will rather look for a way of justifying a fellow Christian instead of critisicm even when the fellow has done something wrong because they are brethren. It is so pathetic that at this global age this still reflects in our political system when tribalism and religion are placed above competency.
Sadly, even on Nairaland when a criminal case is been reported, the so-called Naiaralanders are quick to check names of the perpetrators to know whether to support or go against them.
Have these tribalism and religion sentiment taken us anywhere? My people from the oil producing states let us ask the leaders there what they have been doing with the 13% derivatives they get from the federation account and hold them accountable for our predicament. My brothers from the North let us quickly and publicly condemn any barbaric act. My people we need to erase the past memories of war and stop feelings of been marginalized. Is there any of our states in the east that doesn't get an appropriate allocation from the federal Government? Our so called leaders from the east should be asked what they have been doing with the allocations.
Lastly, my fellow Nairalanders, let us use this great forum to promote unity and peace in this country. Say no to any form of violence, hate speech and any thing that serves as a threat to our national progress and developments. Thanks

It's good to know the DSS are thinking on their toes. Why are you so disturbed by SS and SE, what are you scared of? That the north can't stay on their own? Lol, when the inevitable happens, i wonder if you will survive the heart attack. |

omenka: They are Middle Belt/North Central states, which still supports my position that it is wrong to blame the attacks exclusively on Fulanis.
Tagging them Fulanis is nothing but a sly way of blaming it on Buhari. Mohammed, it was further gathered, told the police that the Fulani are so united that whatever affects an individual is their problem. “He alleged that their people in Nimbo shared Kolanut to all cattle rearers across the country. What it signifies is that there is going to be an attack and everyone should send representatives to support them Omenka****, because he mentioned middle belt states doesnt mean they arent fulani, you are so biased that you see the truth and still defend your lies.. These are fulanis herding their cows in the middlebelt, why are you like this. **** |
Christianity Etc › Shocker! Prophet Buries Cow Heads, Tortoise In Church. by blackmatter007(op): 1:43pm On May 06, 2016 |
THE craze for money, affluence and fame has landed a self acclaimed prophet of an old generation church in deep trouble in Ondo State. Aside the allegation of being fetish in his ministerial activities, the prophet, Moses Abiodun was equally accused of obtaining money under false pretence from unsuspecting members of the public, who thronged his church for miracles and deliverance from poverty and satanic attacks. His Church, Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, Agbala Dagunduro located at Kilometre 5, Ijare Road, Ikota Junction in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state has been sealed by security operatives in the state. This followed reports of his alleged “unholy” activities made to security operatives by one of his lieutenants who had disagreements with him over the booty that accrue to the Church. Also his neighbours who were perturbed by what they noticed was happening in the “House of God” reportedly lodged a complaint to members of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, who later involved officials of the Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state. Findings by Vanguard showed that acting on a tip off by a confidant of the suspect who reportedly fell out with him when the church started making waves and the church’s bank account started swelling, officials of the corps who later swooped on him some scary discoveries at strategic points inside the church. Sources said that the suspects’ confidant, who knew about the activities of the prophet was sidelined and all his efforts to convince the prophet to allow him partake in the booty were rebuffed. Vanguard was informed that the prophet called the bluff of the confidant when he threatened to expose him to the church members and security operatives. When he discovered that the prophet was unperturbed by his threat and having felt cheated he spilt the beans upon which the suspect was picked up, interrogated and detained. Vanguard gathered that the prophet’s close ally actually told security agents that the prophet allegedly buried human heads in strategic places inside the church. This allegation prompted the invasion of the church by officials of the Security and Civil Defense Corps who later discovered that the prophet actually buried heads of a cow, tortoise, cowries, divination board and other fetish items on the altar and all the entrances of his church. These discoveries were made when he was interrogated and he reportedly confessed and took the security agents to the church. He was also forced to excavate all the fetish items buried in the church. The decomposed heads of the cows full of maggots, pigeon heads tied with kola nuts, clay pots wrapped with white clothes and the dead tortoise were dug out by the prophet in the presence of security operatives and members of the public who got wind of the development in the church. Reports had it that the youths in the area descended on him but security operatives prevented them from setting him and the church on fire when the fetish items were dug out . Security operatives had to cordorn off the church premises following the influx of people who trooped in to have a glimpse of the discoveries from the “House of God.” The church became deserted after the exposure of the prophet while his co-workers in the “vineyard” have equally disappeared into thin air. Vanguard gathered that the prophet also reportedly confessed that same fetish items were buried in his house where he equally held consultations with members of the public and his church members. Security operatives who escorted him to his house made him exhume all the fetish items. Vanguard learned that officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state effected his arrest and detention. Speaking with Vanguard, the state commandant of the corps, Mr. Fasiu Adeyinka said the suspect aged 34 hails from Esa-Oke in Osun State. Adeyinka confirmed that the suspect was picked up following a tip-off that he was suspected to have buried something suspected to be human head inside his church. “The men of NSCDC quickly swung into action, went straight to the church and he was asked to dig in specific spots inside the Church where various items suspected to be charms such as cow head, pigeon head tied with kolanut, big clay pot wrapped with white clothes and other numerous fetish items were exhumed from the ground both at the entrance and inside the church. According to him the self acclaimed clergyman was subsequently picked up after his officers were able to make the discoveries about the illicit activities of the pastor. The commandant said investigation is still on-going to unravel the pastor’s motive of burying fetish items in strategic places inside the church . He said that the suspect would soon be charged to court after the conclusion of their investigations. As it stands, no member of the church showed up for the Sunday and Tuesday mid-week services last week, ostensibly to show that all is no more well with the so called church. CAC disowns cleric Meanwhile, the national body of the Christ Apostolic Church has disowned alleged fetish clergyman. The Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Kayode Balogun told Vanguard that some people from the national headquarters of the church came to the office to disown the suspect. He said a team from the C.A.C asked him several questions about when and where he was ordained as a pastor of the church, but he could not give any answer. The Church leaders have promised to charge the suspect to court for impersonation Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/shocker-prophet-buries-cow-heads-tortoise-church/

loopman: You don'y have to be named IPOB by your parents to answer the name. You have the average IPOB mentality which is that it's only the destruction of Nigeria that can make you achieve your Biafrat objective, a cowardly and backward mentality. Hypocrite, before the biafran issue became this serious, the FG ought to have talked things out with ipob agitators instead they shot, killed and jailed them in order to destroy the ideology forgetting that it cant be destroyed. The niger delta crisis is just one of the syptoms of the disease affecting nigeria, with the way buhari neglets issues and uses military force to subjugate citizens, it is very easy to predict the balkanization of this contraption. Sorry if you wanted one nigeria but the real fact is ONE NIGERIA IS THE BIGGEST LIE EVER, we are not one, the earlier you prepare for the inevitable, the better for you. |
