Politics › Senator Escapes Kidnap Attempt - Police Orderly Killed by blacksta(op): 7:19am On May 26, 2009 |
THE Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, who is a former deputy governor of Abia State, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, narrowly escaped being kidnapped on Sunday night. The kidnappers, according to Senator Abaribe, ambushed his convoy as he was returning from a consultative meeting held by the senator representing Abia Central, Senator Nkechi Nworgu, in Aba. Senator Abaribe, in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, said that on sighting his convoy, the gunmen, who were in an ash colour Toyota Camry car, opened fire on him, prompting his police orderly to return fire. He said that while his police orderly killed one of the kidnappers, the policeman was also hit by bullets and he died in the process. Narrating the incident in a text message, Abaribe said: “A policeman, a mopol with me was killed just now in an ambush by armed men in an ash colour Toyota Camry who opened fire on us about one kilometre to my house at 8.35 pm. “If the policeman did not return fire, I would have been a dead man. The returned fire also made them retreat and they (the kidnappers) later encountered the anti-terrorist police who exchanged fire with them. They abandoned the Toyota car and a kidnap victim, a lecturer at the Abia State Polytechnic, was found in the booth of the car. http://www.tribune.com.ng/26052009/news/news3.html |

Becomrich: black I have been ask to come and run for office. But I would want to see what happen to this bill. I do not think i can lose in Nigeria expect by rigging me out. I am covered politically. If it is people vote. I know I would win. I know everybody in redeemed church would vote for me. I know everybody in deeper life would vote for me. I know everybody in CAC would vote for me. The president of CAC worldwide Pastor Oluseye , i have something planted in his house. my school mate. so every CAC church in Nigeria would be open. Even cele church, the founder son is a good friend friend of mine. And the sec general of one of the power muslim body is my schoolmate.
So It is only rigging that can make me lose. I am not seeking self desire, but a society free of war. 15,000,000 life is too much to be killed. Congo is a reminder.
This bill make us a bilingual nation of french and english. Even you can see the french prime minister visit to nigeria 2 days ago. It should tell you everybody would be open to the idea. Even france. Becomerich u don mad |

tamme: I'm looking forward to when a Yoruba man could be governor of delta state and a southerner governor of a northern state.
in the United States before it became a perfect union, people thought of themselves of being citizens of their respective states not as being citizens of the USA. It was till the constitution was passed that people finally identified with the country as being theirs and theirs alone.
I believe one day our country will be like that This is simply a genuine hatred for Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: Who Killed Our Democracy? by blacksta(m): 2:35pm On May 25, 2009 |
Democracy died when it stopped revolving around people. The pillars of democracy are
1. A political system for choosing and replacing the government through free and fair elections.
2. The active participation of the people, as citizens, in politics and civic life.
3. Protection of the human rights of all citizens.
4. A rule of law, in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens.
Unfortunately it not the case in the majority of Nigera. |

Here are some of the miffing facts in their report. Four times this year, each of the 360 members of the House of Representatives will receive ₦35 million as "constituency allowance." In conservative terms, that's $300,000 per member per quarter. At the end of the year, then, each member of the House would have collected a cool $1.2 million.
If this figure has made you dizzy - or put you in a tizzy - hold on a minute until you hear this one. Each of the 109 senators collects ₦48 million per quarter. At the end of the year, each senator's haul will be in the neighborhood of $1.7 million. That's not a bad sum for doing - little to nothing.
In case you're wondering, these legislators gobble enough cash to give pocket money to President Barack Obama. Obama's salary is $400,000 per annum. That's less than what each Nigerian senator "eats" each quarter.
Mind; this gargantuan "constituency allowance" comes on top of salaries and other sundry allowances by the Abuja "lootocrats." As a former member of the National Assembly told me, there's no requirement that the legislators explain how they spend their so-called "constituency" funds.
"Throughout the four years I spent in the House," said this former representative, who asked for anonymity, "I don't know of one member who used the money to do anything serious in his or her constituency. The cash was pocketed."

Tùdor: @JIL You're wrong. I dnt hate everything christian, i hate everything RELIGION! Are you on drugs or what? Isn't it the same god of the old testament that christians worship? He said '' I am god i changeth not''. If he commanded the isrealites to kill, loot and rape,he changeth not. He commands them to stone sinners and unbelievers,he changeth not. The christian hypocrisy is overwhelming. They claim the new testament is relevant and the old irrelevant. But when they want to collect tithes and offerings, they quote malachi.or when they want you to vow/pledge money they chant deuteronomy. So you hear gods voice right? Dont say that out in public please, you might be mistaken for a psychotic mad man you the know the scriptures although consumed by hate for christianity . but i must say the Devil knows the word of God so i am not suprised by your. mis interepration of the word. please keep your opionon to yourself. |
Christianity Etc › Re: How To Hear God - And Know It Is God. by blacksta(op): 8:53pm On May 24, 2009 |
toneyb: How do you know that the bible is the word of divine entity? You should expect to "hear" the words of a divine being in a book that is VERY great. But what we have in the bible are very ridiculous assertions and lunacy at its best. There's plenty of evidence and it points to the bible being written by non-eyewitnesses, internally contradictory, morally repugnant, irrational, scientifically false, and historically inaccurate. Because it would seem to me if something were divinely inspired it would be internally consistent and would fit nicely with what we learn through observation, reason, and scientific method. If it were divinely inspired you wouldn't need to convene a conference to determine what was and wasn't the word of god. Most importantly, and I am real curious of your take on this because I have never gotten a Christian response to this, Why wouldn't the translators of the bible be similarly inspired? Why are there so many different English translations? Why do u fight - I believe everybody is an individual and has a free will to do whatever they want to do with their life. My question to you sir what other religion are u fighting. Please answer - thanks |
Christianity Etc › Re: How To Hear God - And Know It Is God. by blacksta(op): 8:49pm On May 24, 2009 |
bindex: How do you hear an from an imaginary being? people believe in deities because they do not understand life; their life, or the life around them. So, just existing, or everything just existing had to have a creator since they had a creator (their parents etc). people believe in deities and heaven etc, as a way to cope with the fact that they are fearful of dying. in the past during the time that most of the bible and the koran were written most people only lived on average about 40-50 years. Such a short time. Though today, on average (worldwide) people live to be 75-85 years. Still for many that's such a short time. So they create god and heaven as a way to justify living forever beyond their "mortal coil".Religion and god was created by man as a way to control others. why? Because people always want what they can't have, don't have, and therefore if you create a system that can get you this, based on the idiocy of people (even the smart ones) then you get the power, you have the control, and you have also the wealth. The catholic church is a good example of this. People create their gods mostly in their own image speak to them and hear from them all the time. No god has ever spoken to any one all we have are people telling themselves what they need to do or interpreting their inner most feelings, emotions and wishes and ascribing it to their god or calling if the voice of their god. it is not absolute neccessity that you must post on this thread . The mere fact that you challenging the notion that God does not talk to people means God exist. Christianity is true religion and it been challenged by non believers. why do and others fight it and not fight bhuddasim, yoga and rest of the nonsense out there. |
