Every body jumping into conclusion as usual . Hearing one side of the story . What if the guy sold all his family land, sold the father and mother house , taken a loan or sold his car to place a large bet on Arsenal winning the UCL. I am not justifying suicide but all hope was lost when Man utd scored two goals in 11 minutes. |
Why igbos , why not Nigerians on a whole ![]() |

redsun:What does a private individual or organisation do when the government have failed woefully to provide an enabling environment - but as a private organisation you know you can pass on the cost to consumers. |
redsun:I agree to an extent - but you understand who you owe that debt to really matters. two option i subscribe to insteading of borrowing from external body like IMF 1. Raise money from the indigines thru taxes, bonds 2. Print money - very dangerous but do it this way ( let the federal bank or cbn - borrow the government money). and hope in the long term for every 1 naira you invest you will gert. N1.50 |

See you at the house because Nobody here wants to contest anyway |
Bloody white elephant - Flawed from the on set - I would have thought that proper planning was done. Money should have been set side to build a private power plant but unfortunately this is Nigeria. |
Naija is a gold mine - and it has been taken for granted. It has to stop. |
Bigup to OneNaija - Nobody has beef with Nigeria. The beef is with the way the country is run . One of the best sites i have ever seen that is functional. |
The Imo State House of Assembly on Monday in Owerri passed a bill into law prohibiting hostage-taking and other related offences. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, when signed into law by the state governor, it will be cited as the "Imo State Prohibition of Hostage Taking and Related Offences Law.'' It said, "Any person who abducts another persons or takes another person hostage or keeps another person hostage for demand of ransom will be guilty of an offence and sentenced to death on conviction.'' The bill was sponsored by Mrs Oyibo Nwaneri, representing Oru East state constituency and supported by 16 members. The members unanimously passed the bill. According to the Speaker of the House, Mr Goodluck Opiah, the bill sought to bring about a safer Imo State. He said it would also uplift the socio-economic activities in the state by prohibiting people from committing the offence of hostage taking and other related offences. Meanwhile, the Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has expressed concern that in spite of efforts by the government to curtail the activities of criminals, kidnapping had defied solution. Orji, who bemoaned the rate of crime in the state, said that while attacks on bullion vans had abated, kidnapping was on the increase. The governor spoke while receiving a donation of three security vans from Zenith Bank Plc on Wednesday in Umuahia. http://www.punchontheweb.com/Article_comments.aspx?theartic=Art200905071342220 |

Port Harcourt—After battling for three years for the removal of a piggery from its community and frightened by the spread of swine flu in the world, the Elelenwo community in Rivers State, has called on the state and Federal Government to rescue it from the “impending disaster in the area”. In a “media alert” made available to Vanguard in Port Harcourt, yesterday the people of the area said the disease may have hit the community because of the “strange cough and catarrh that is being experienced by some people here.” Signed by the president and vice president of Elelenwo Youths Organisation, Messrs Mike Chukwu and Clement Onwuka, they asked that the governments “make haste to compel the operators of the piggery to relocate the deadly establishment from our community. “Besides the impending disaster, some community members have had to relocate their residences, while churches and schools have equally packed out of the community because of the nuisance constituted by the location of the piggery. “Even the ministry of environment and that of health have intervened without success because the owner wields enormous power, influence and is a supposed money bag, hence the delay and slow response to our plight. “While the rest of the world is taking prompt and decisive action to save the lives of their citizens, the lives of Elelenwo community is equal to that of pigs. This is indeed very sad and while our government is busy joining the world to prevent this deadly disease from entering Nigeria, we are very certain we have been living with it in Elelenwo. “Nobody knows why there is so much cough and catarrh here because we do not carry out medical tests like the rest of the world, but who indeed is competent to say that we are not already suffering from this flu in this community and indeed the state, because nobody has bothered to hear the cry of this community over this matter”. The community further stated that “It is our belief as youths of this community that the government is not doing enough and is merely paying lip service to this most urgent matter. It is therefore time to take the matter to the court of public opinion to see if we can get justice fast. Experts report that Influenza viruses could be directly transmitted from pigs to people. Human infection with flu viruses from pigs are most likely to occur when people are in close proximity to infected pigs, such as in pig barns and livestock exhibits housing pigs. Researches conducted by medical experts have revealed that like all influenza viruses, swine flu viruses change constantly. Pigs can be infected by avian influenza and human influenza viruses as well as swine influenza viruses. When influenza viruses from different species infect pigs, the viruses can swap genes and new viruses that are a mix of swine, human and/or avian influenza viruses can emerge. The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing; some people with swine flu also have reported runny, nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. http://www.vanguardngr.com/content/view/35256/44/ |
Should i judge or should i hold off? but i must add the following It is very sad that one does not know the true intentions of people when it comes to the murky water of politics in our dear Nigeria. Mr Segun - are you people passionate or are you after your slice of the national cake.? |
Since his retirement from active soccer, Odegbami has been a regular feature on television screen as soccer analyst. But recently, Odegbami surprised not a few political observers and newsmen alike when he put up appearance at a press conference organized at the Iyala street, Alausa Lagos Secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) by the pan Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) under the leadership of a one time Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adewale Oshun. As journalists were making eye contacts about the mission of a footballer at a political circle, the National Publicity of the ARG, Mr. Yinka Odumakin cleared his throat in a manner that attracted the attention of the audience. “Coming in when Mr. Chairman was reading his address is one of our members from Ogun state. He is one and only Mathematical Olusegun Odegbami himself,” Odumakin announced. Facing the highly elated Segun, Odumakin added, “you are welcome into our midst.” The newsmen could not wait for the event to be over before they swarmed on the ‘stranger’ as ants do on a cube of sugar with barrage of questions like, “are you in to politics,?” and “why are you in politics?” And sounding politically, expectedly, the Master Dribbler tuned politician answered, “yes, I am now into politics, and the reason is simple. I want to contribute my own quota to the growth, progress and development of our dear country and in the process serve my people at any capacity they want me to serve them.” As it were now, political watchers are patiently wait to hear and read headlines like, “Odegbami for Senate,” “former footballer eyes Ogun Government House,” and “eswhile Eagles Captain for President.” http://odili.net/news/source/2009/may/7/501.html |
