Over 5000 delegates

7 Million * roughly 3000 delegates = N21, 000, 000,000.000 = 21 trillion = 5 times the size of Nija budget.

Masterstroke. He surely will get the ruling upturned, however the plan is for him to step down, and work on the psyche of the delegates on how to vote.  Our people say "When skeletons are mentioned in a story, old men begin to tremble". The message really is for the Atiku camp.

Technically , with this ruling PDP delegates know that voting for ATiku might translate into the party not having a candidate in the general elections.

Delegates will generally vote GEJ, after the primaries nwodo appeals and upturns the judgement. while Atiku would have been deflated after the primaries.

Once again I say Masterstroke. grin
I dont see any master stroke  - all i see is a party imploding  - so you say the plan is work on the delegates - One man would meet all the delegates in the country btw now and tomorrow. how is that possible.

@ luvinhubby: MAY GOD BLESS YOU A BILLION TIMES FOR SEEING THE BIG PICTURE

In all honesty, This is bullcrap.

The ACN is now officially the Tinubu show. This is getting out of hand.

First of all, Tinubu is pushing his wife into the Senate. There are talks that one of his children will go into assembly. And that one of his inlaws is headed there too. Next, we have Ekiti, where all his boys have invaded to get positions. Another of Tinubu's in-laws is running for Rep in Ekiti. Why?? Cause the Tinubus have so much to offer?? Nope. Because of GREED. And an incessant need to get power by all means.

Look at the Ekiti Central Senatorial seat being contested with the incumbent by 3 of Tinubu's associates. The ACN primary was disrupted by thugs and other elements, ending in the cancellation of the exercise. What do we expect in the general elections then if the primary can't go smoothly without incidence.

Look at Lagos, there are rumors that all those that supported Fashola during his dispute with Tinubu will get edged out. The Deputy Governor will most likely be replaced. Some performers like Senator Mammora have been told to step down for others. This is getting out of hand.

With the widespread effort on the part of the Tinubus to take over all aspects of the party, and render anyone within who refuses to bend to their will an outsider, it becomes obvious that this Bola Ahmed Tinubu is preparing himself to become our new taskmaster in Southwest Nigeria,

There's no point in trading our shackles of the PDP for shackles of ACN.

I laughed when I saw an article in Ekiti about the governor planning to raise internal revenue. This is a good idea, I thought. However, I won't be surprised if Alpha Beta Corporation (supposedly belonging to Tinubu) is awarded the job.

Enough with my rantings o. Sorry if it became incoherent along the way. Na as e pain man reach, Na so e go talk am.
I agree 100% tinubu must be stopped at all cost before he turns into a 7 headed monster. I was also shocked to read that Senator Mamora was asked to stand down. One of the best vocal senator who consistently fought PDP in the house.

Small small, we dey near goalpost.

1.Initially they said, he should not contest, that his mere declaration will divide the country, he gently on 18th sept offered himself for the election.
2. They then made it loud and clear , that should he contest, he would disgraced at the polls, he still was undetered
3. Ciroma and his ilk started their consensus gra gra, finally they picked Atiku
4. Then the enemies realised slowly that it would be difficult to defeat him  at the primaries, hence they threatened with the inevitable "violent change", the bombs went off, but we still were undetered.
5. After the bombs they explored the legal option, the self acclaimed defender of democracy (Atiku), could no longer really on this "network of friends" to get the party ticket. Hence he promised to stop GEJ from even running at the primaries. The courts have thrown out their claims.

6 Then suddenly , just two days to the primaries, some of our sworn enemies have started campaigning for us in self delusion that it will be easier for a 70-yr old Buhari who does not look healthier than UMYA in 2007 to defeat GEJ in the general elections than atiku. I dey laugh.

But to us we are getting closer our destination. It is now endorsement galore----- friends , enemies, pastors, "kpians"---- all join.

I have joy and I wish all of you joy. I STILL DEY LAUGH.
All part of the cleansing process -  atiku winning the ticket might make PDP stronger thus cementing zoning.  As far as Nigeria is concerned zoning is cause of where we are today where round pegs leaders are continually be forced in square.

My Prayer is that GEJ wins the election and we shall witness the self destruction of evil.

I don't think so. Politics of greed and self-servitude is running its course in Nigeria . Historically, we are following the path of other established democracies where the greedy elite held sway unfairly for long until , usually, greed amongst themselves , allied with the frustration and open agitation of a better informed populace, brings everything toppling down. There is only so far you can sink before you hit the bottom. Whatever happens in 2011 , I think a Nigeria that works better (not perfectly) for everyone will rise out of the ashes . Many Nigerians , out of frustration , have clamoured for bloody revolution. I think greedy politicians , allowed for decades to have their own ways unchecked, may now inadvertently provide this "revolution" to pave way for a better Nigeria with how the ground is now set for them to batter each other .  Misrule can last for many decades but the end , precipitated by even a small event , may come quickly for misrulers .
I total agree 100%  - how low can one go before you hit rock bottom.  Equilibrium is one bad backside muthafuker, Eventually things will level out.  How long do people think the rot will continue. The Uk and American democratic systems that are botth over 300 or 500 years old all started out if not worse than the present Nigerian system eventually corrected itself.  One must be joking or hopeless to think it wont happen in Nigeria

Fortunately GEJ desperation for power by default has started the system correction.  We can all witness how the PDP is gradually imploding.  Can one ever imagine the massive decamping  ,Serving PDP senators or Reps being turfed out.

When Greed collides Greed the end result = Room is made available for good candidates.

That is why i subscribe that GEJ must get that presidential ticket at all cost.

I agree being that i am not Chris okotie or TB Joshua or Primate Ayodele who can see into the future is the reason why i listed a number of probable reactions if GEJ is elected president.

My deductions are from available political trends that is presently happening in Nigerian and also we have been informed by the Some Northerners that Nigeria will become ungovernable if the north is not allowed to rule. Which might not necessarily relate to violence  but by frustrating and weakening every PDP move  if GEJ is elected
PoliticsRe: Court Throws Out Zoning Suit Against President Jonathan by blacksta(m): 1:30pm On Jan 11, 2011
Abeg nothing to celebrate here - Like we did not know that before. Zoning is a gentleman agreement within PDP and it is not catered for in the Nigerian constitution and dont why they waited this long to throw out the case.

Still it does not change the fact that GEJ is a square peg trying to fit a round hole.

PoliticsGej Must Be Elected At All Cost - It Is In The Best Interest Of Nigeria by blacksta(op): 1:03pm On Jan 11, 2011
Nigeria at the moment is going through a political landscape change. Some might argue we have had 12 years continuous democracy others might argue that is it internal colonialism. Whatever be the case elections have been conducted, votes have been counted and Winners declared which are tenements of a thriving democracy.  Did i hear you say democracy! (Elections rigged, Ballot boxes Snatched, Candidates imposed are discussions for another day).

Since the end of the Military rule 12 years ago. The Nigerian elites called PDP have operated a padi padi arrangement by predetermining presidential and vice presidential victors know as Zoning at the expenses of masses but the death of Yar Adua in 2010 threw a spanner in works thus leading to Goodluck  Jonathan becoming the president of Nigeria. With Goodluck Jonathan upsetting the regional power sharing cycle , the following outcomes will most likely occur if GEJ gets the presidential aspirant ticket for PDP.

1. Mass Northern and Southern ( Those in favour of zoning) exodus into regional parties thus leading to a weakened PDP

2. A Genuine political contest because the elites are divided and PDP might not have intellectual capacity to conduct or manage a central rigging system.

3. A Possible scenario where the President is PDP and governorship equally spread amongst the regional parties.

4. Northern marginalisation because a southern is the president

5. Possible Military takeover predominately made up of junior officers from North ( This might delay the change process a bit – but i am sure the masses will resist and this time a genuine process will be in place to manage the transfer of power military to civilian).

Hence the reason why it is in best of Nigeria that GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN becomes the president of Nigeria. PDP has to be weakened at all cost. At that point the Electoral and Judiciary system will eventually correct itself and for the first time Nigerians will be guaranteed round pegs leadership in round holes.

Whether Acn or pdp all of them na padi padi business- Can some remind us of her contributions at the local level apart from being a former governor's wife.

If she really has the will of people at heart why not start at the local level. I think it is time the people of Lagos send a shock wave and refuse to be a part of this kleptocracy.

ACN is fast becoming a regional PDP i guess what does one expect with the mass cross carpeting from PDP into ACN. To my surprise nobody is complaining now when people are decamping from PDP to their respective parties.
PoliticsRe: Political Tsunami As 84 PDP Senators Lose Primaries! by blacksta(m): 5:04am On Jan 11, 2011
After all them don chop - make them move aside make another set come chop . One thing these idiots forget is when you start a process of impunity you forget that other people sef get game and the do and die affair also applies to aspiring no good senators hence the circle of frustration continues.

In 2007 we had roughly about two third of new senators and reps and the worst thing is that the members will forever be paid a pension.

In a typical sane environment you will normally have senators or reps serving for 20 years or more or even until death the benefit is that senators or reps develops and law of country even advances but in the Nigerian context when is the senate or house going to develop when you have fresh faces every four years.

The only good thing coming out of this. Is the fact all that accrued money from senate or house would be spent fighting a dead political ambition. I shed no tears at all as they all reaping what they sowed. No they cant go the people to be elected cause they never visited and did anything positive for their consistuents during their term in office hence dog eat dog.
PoliticsRuling On Zoning ‘is A Wake Up Call To Jonathan’ – Atiku Campaign by blacksta(op): 9:17pm On Jan 10, 2011
The campaign organization of former Vice President and Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has said the judgement of an Abuja Federal High Court on zoning ‘is a wake up call to President Goodluck Jonathan to walk the path of honour and integrity and drop out of the Presidential race.’

Justice Ishaq Usman Bello had earlier ruled that the party must respect its zoning principle as enshrined in Article 7.2 (c) of its constitution but added that it was too early to seek to disqualify President Goodluck Jonathan or anyone as the PDP has not chosen a flagbearer. He thereafter struck out the suit filed by Atiku's political associates and okayed President Jonathan's preliminary objection.

A statement by Atiku Campaign Organisation in Abuja ‘hailed the judgement saying that the court has once again affirmed the existence of zoning in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Campaign said it ‘hailed the court for acknowledging that the PDP was bound to observe its own rules and constitution and by extension the zoning arrangement as enshrined in Section 7 (2) (C) of the ruling party’s constitution.

The Campaign thereafter advised ‘those still in denial of zoning to take heed of Justice Ishaq Bello’s exhortation that political parties must abide by their constitutions, the Electoral Act and the Constitution of the country.’

The demise of President Umaru Yar'Adua last year opened up the zoning controversy, having been elected in 2007 to serve for a four-year term with an option to seek reelection. Umaru Yar'Adua hailed from Northen Nigeria. His then deputy, Goodluck Jonathan assumed office as President and has since declared his intention to contest for the Presidency in 2011.

The PDP had earlier said President Jonathan, who is from Southern Nigeria is free to contest its primaries as the constitution of Nigeria allows him to.

PoliticsTinubu Dares The Federal Government by blacksta(op): 12:22pm On Jan 10, 2011
The former Governor of Lagos State and a chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Bola Tinubu, has declared that he is not afraid of being arrested by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Describing the alleged plot to nab him as a “threat” by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Tinubu said that it is disheartening to know that the ruling party is making efforts to “destroy oppositions”, a development which does not promote democracy and its dividends. “Why should I be disturbed?,” he said during an interview with journalists at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, on Sunday. “I have a constitutional and fundamental right for freedom; for the pursuit of my happiness; I am not in any way frightened by the restlessness or threat in the course of my political struggle to chart a new course for the political stability of Nigeria.”

The alarm

The ACN, last Friday, through its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, alleged that the Federal Government was plotting to arrest and prosecute its leader, Bola Tinubu. The party stated that it alerted the public on December 5, 2010 of the moves by the government to silence the former governor as a result of his role in the “hurricane progressive” adopted by the party in conquering most of the states in Nigeria’s South-west.

Mr Tinubu expressed dismay that Nigerians have not experienced any meaningful development for the past twelve years under the leadership of the PDP. “If we are to truly remain a united country, the politics of the last twelve years is not the politics you can describe as a patriotic zeal to rebuild the nation and put the nation first above selfish interest. In Africa, the opposition parties are a threat to be persecuted. I am not new to that; it happened to me during the Abacha regime; it happened several times.

Stop it Tinubu’

Reacting, the former governor of Ekiti State, Olusegun Oni, described claims by Mr Tinubu that the PDP was planning to get him incarcerated because of his role in the installation of ACN governors in the southwest through the judiciary as an assault on the collective intellects of Nigerians.

Mr Oni said it was insulting for anyone to claim that the office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice was being put under pressure to “look for any offence, no matter how flimsy, to arrest a character like [Mr] Tinubu, who is noted for drug peddling, operation of foreign accounts while serving as governor and purchase of almost everything in Lagos with his ill-gotten wealth.” The former governor, who also alleged that he was aware of a plot by Mr Tinubu to assassinate him, said; “They held a meeting in Lagos a few days ago where it was agreed that noose should be tightened against Segun Oni for his stance on the mafia being led by Tinubu himself.” “This time around, we are no longer going to keep quiet and allow this mafia the freedom to purchase the soul of Nigeria,” he said.

While urging anti-graft agencies in the country, especially the Code of Conduct Bureau no to allow themselves be intimidated by Mr Tinubu, the former governor said that; “The whole world are watching to see how a man who only used the immunity clause to escape prosecution five years ago has not been made to face the law now that he no longer enjoys immunity.” “Therefore, whether he is leading the opposition party, which he is ostensibly funding with proceeds of corruption, Tinubu and any other person for that matter, must be treated as being above the law,” he said.
