Engr Osasere Favour Osifo, on Tuesday, 28th June, 2022 paid a condolence visit to the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami, over the demise of her predecessor, Emeritus Professor Osayuki Godwin Oshodin.

The Vice President, University of Benin Alumni Association North America (UBAANA) chapter, was received on the visit by the University’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Maureen Ebomoyi, and members of the UNIBEN Management team.

Osifo, on behalf of UBAANA and its President, Alex Eromwon, condoled with the University Management over the ex-VC’s passing, describing his demise as a great loss to UBAANA, as the deceased was a “golden jewel” to the Alumni body.

He extolled the late Oshodin’s virtues as a “transformational VC” and “father to all”, who transformed the fortunes of the University, adding, “the Alumni body recognises and know what the ex-VC stood for while alive.”

The UNIBEN former Students’ Union President, during the Oshodin’s Administration, also lauded Prof. Salami’s developmental strides at the University of Benin, particularly the beautification project and infrastructures.

During the visit, Engr Osifo signed the Condolence Register, where the UNIBEN VC intimated the UBAANA VP of plans by Management to organise a proper commendation service in honour of Oshodin and immortalise the first indigenous VC.

Professor Salami, who lauded UBAANA for the support towards her Administration, also thanked the Alumni body for sending a delegation to physically identify and comisserate with the University Community over the ex-VC’s passing.

Earlier on Monday, Engr Osifo paid an unscheduled visit to the site of UBAANA’s project, a Students’ Relaxation Centre at the Ekehuan Campus of the University, where he commended the work done so far.

He lauded the UBAANA President, Alex Eromwon for making the project a success, wile commending the President Foster Amadin led Students’ Union for its partnership and efforts in attracting the students-oriented project.

The engagements of Osifo, who is currently in Nigeria for the funeral of his late father Deacon Sunday Osifo, came to a climax on Tuesday with a meeting with the Students’ Union leaders at the popular June 12 Secretariat, where the ex-Union President was mobbed by his long-time supporters; as chants of “Presido, Presido” rented the air.

Vice President, University of Benin Alumni Association North America (UBAANA) chapter, Engr Osasere Favour Osifo, on Monday, paid a condolence visit to the family of Emeritus Professor Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, the late former Vice Chancellor, University of Benin.

Osifo, a former Students’ Union President under the late Oshodin, arrived at the deceased’s residence at about 10:30 a.m, on Monday, where prayers were offered for the repose of his soul.

He was received on the visit by Mrs Otasowie Oshodin, wife of the late first indigenous UNIBEN Vice Chancellor and former Registrar of the institution.

Engr Osifo, on behalf of the UBAANA President, Alex Eromwon, extended the condolence of the Association and sympathised with the Oshodin’s family over the demise of their breadwinner, who died in Benin City, on May 29 at the age of 71.

He described the late Oshodin as a “seasoned administrator” and “passionate leader”, who served his country meritoriously as Vice Chancellor of a federal institution.

Osifo said the late former Vice Chancellor did his best for the country in contributing his own quota as a University administrator, describing him as a “father of all.”

The UBAANA Vice President also prayed for the family left behind, especially the former Registrar Mrs Otasowie and her children, asking God for the fortitude to bear the loss.

“We can’t question God. He gives and takes. We pray that the Almighty recognises the many good deeds of Prof. for the country and humanity and grant him eternal rest in His bossom,” Osifo said.

“We understand your pain and share in it. Prof. was a fine gentleman and a father of all, who related well and helped all those who encountered him.

“His simplicity and warmth were indeed very touching. In this moment of grief, I pray to the Almighty to bestow strength upon you and your family to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.

During the visit, Engr Osifo also signed the Condolence Register, while assuring the ex-UNIBEN Registrar and wife of the deceased of his support and that of UBAANA in their moment of grief.

Responding, a son of the former Vice Chancellor, who spoke on behalf of the Family, thanked Engr Osifo for identifying with the Oshodins in their moment of grief.

On her part, Mrs Oshodin also thanked the UBAANA Vice President for finding time to visit, despite being in his mourning mood weeks after losing his own father.

Osifo, who is currently in Benin City for the funeral of his late father, was accompanied on the visit by former members of his administration including the incumbent Students’ Union President, Comr. Foster Amadin.

Others are Comrade Issac Ukponahiunsi, former Enogie of Benin students, UNIBEN; Barr. Osarodin Hope Imafidon, former Students’ Union Attorney-General; Joseph Itota, Director of Logistics and Ogochukwu Isioma, Publisher, CAMPUS GIST.

The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has proceeded on annual leave and has transferred powers to his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, to act in his stead while he is away.

In a statement on Friday, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, said the governor has written to the Edo State Assembly, to intimate the House of the development.

Osagie said: “The governor has proceeded on an annual leave and has transferred power to his deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shiabu. The Edo State House of Assembly has been duly informed about the development.”

This would be the second time the governor has transferred power to his deputy, further cementing the administration’s respect for democratic ideals as enshrined in the 1999 constitution.

Metrowatchxtra recalls that Governor Obaseki had in 2019, proceeded on annual vacation for about a month, from March 24 to April 23, after he had transmitted a letter to that effect to the State Assembly, transfering powers to his deputy.

Some aggrieved Nigerian students have taken to Facebook to attack Mr Sunday Dayo Asefon, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), over the lingering strike by public universities’ lecturers.

CAMPUS GIST reports that, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on strike since February 14, 2022 over federal government’s alleged failure to honour the 2009 Agreements it reached with the university lecturers, among other demands.

On Wednesday, Mr Asefon, who has nicknamed himself ‘Revolutionary President’, took to his Facebook page to share an update ostensibly on the industrial action, moments after government promised resolution. “Good news soon Nigerian students!!!,” Mr Asefon wrote in the now-deleted post sighted by CAMPUS GIST.

However, some students who are apparently not pleased with Mr Asefon’s leadership style particularly his ‘unyielding efforts’ to wade into the impasse between ASUU and the federal government, took a swipe at the NANS President, calling his bluff.

While some students who still have much belief in his capacity to lead the Nigerian students hailed him, mostly of whom are members of the NANS and Mr Asefon’s cabinet team.

Attacking the NANS President via his post, a Facebook user, Chukwu Caleb commented: “Mr president you are a joke. biko shift make we see road. Revolutionary noise maker.”

Another user, Al’ameem Kabeer, wrote, “You and your excos are bunch of failures, you are not protecting the students interest.”

Aliyu Dalandi said, “Now that all parties have conducted their political activities in Abuja without any harassment or intimidation, we await good news.”

The fifty-year-old NANS President had in March vowed to occupy major roads across the country including federal secretariats in protest against the ASUU strike.

He had also threatened to stop major political parties from holding their primary elections in Abuja, the nation’s capital, in a bid to press home the demand of Nigerian students to suspend the ongoing strike.

Judgement has been delivered in favour of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in the case over disputed land with the Uteh Community, in Edo State.

This was disclosed by the UNIBEN Public Relations Unit, in a statement made available to CAMPUS GIST, on Thursday.

In his ruling, Honorable Justice D. I Okungbowa of the Edo State High Court dismissed the claims to the land by the Uteh Community in its entirety on the ground that it is statute barred.

CAMPUS GIST gathered that, the dispute over the University of Benin land with Uteh Community has been on for several years.

The ownership of the land, popularly referred to as ‘Site B’, was vested on the University of Benin by virtue of Notice No 337 of 22nd April, 1967, and published by the Mid-western State of Nigeria, Gazette No, 25 Vol. 4 of 4th May, 1967.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami has appealed to Nigerian students not to despair amid the ongoing industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Professor Salami, who gave the charge Wednesday, on a radio interview in Benin City, also advised the students to shun vices and brace up for serious academic work as soon as the strike is called off.

She appealed to the students to, in the meantime, acquire vocational skills ahead of the resolution of the trade dispute between the striking university lecturers and the federal government.

CAMPUS GIST reports that Nigerian public Universities have been shutdown since February 14, 2022 over alleged failure of the government to implement the renegotiated 2009 agreement with ASUU.

Some include a request to deploy the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) to replace the existing Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) payment platform, among other issues of concern.

Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced Thursday July 7, 2022 as passing-out date for the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members Nationwide.

A circular endorsed by the NYSC Director, Public Relations Service, A. W. Ikaka said the approval was given by the Scheme’s Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Fada.

According to the circular dated June 21 and made available to CAMPUS GIST, the programme will be ceremonial with State Governors and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) presiding over the event.

National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Mr Audu Amba, from Kaduna, has been sacked by the Governor Nasir El-rufai led Kaduna state government.

Amba was among the 2,357 teachers dismissed by the Kaduna government for failing the recently conducted competency test for teachers in the state, reports CAMPUS GIST.

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB), announced their dismissal in a statement made available to CAMPUS GIST, on Sunday.

KADSUBEB spokesperson, Mrs Hauwa Mohammed, said the Board conducted a competency test for over 30,000 teachers in December 2021.


She said that 2,192 primary school teachers including the NUT President had been dismissed for refusing to sit for the competency test.

Mohammed added that some 165 of the 27,662 teachers that sat for the competency test were also sacked for poor performances.

Recall that the Kaduna government in 2018 sacked 21,780 teachers who failed a competency test, and replaced them with 25,000 others recruited through vigorous processes.

In December 2021, the Board also sacked 233 teachers over alleged possession of fake certificates.

“Following the state government’s resolution for continued assessment of teachers to ensure better delivery of learning outcomes for pupils, KADSUBEB conducted another competency test for the teachers in December 2021.

“The services of teachers who scored below 40 per cent are no longer required and their appointments have been terminated from the Public Service for their poor performances.

“Teachers who scored 75 per cent and above were recognised as those who passed the test and qualified for attending courses in leadership and school management,” she said.

According to her, qualified teachers will be included in Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programmes to enhance their capacities to deliver quality teaching to pupils.

Mohammed said teachers who scored between 40 and 74 per cent did not meet up with the minimum pass mark, adding that they would be given second chance to improve their capacities.

The Board, she said has initiated viable training programmes for teachers under its statutory TPD with support from the state government and development partners.

“The training programmes will be conducted during end of term vacation and in their respective schools, to minimise disruptions of teaching and learning.

“They are also encouraged to complement the government’s efforts and seek personal development for their own good.

“The board is assuring teachers and the public that it remains committed to ensuring their continuous professional development and the improvement of the learning outcomes of pupils and students,” she said.

Reacting, Mr Ibrahim Dalhatu, State Chairman, NUT, dismissed the competency test and the sacking of the affected teachers as “illegal”.

Dalhatu said the Union had secured a court order restraining the Board from conducting the competency test, adding, however, that it conducted the test without recourse to the rule of law.

He recalled that the Union had asked the teachers not to write the examination after learning that the intent was to sack them.

“We warned that any teacher who participates in the illegal examination would not be protected by the union if victimised but some of the teachers went ahead to write the examination out of fear.

“We are not against the conduct of the competency test if due process is followed, but it should not be used as a basis for sacking teachers.

“The competency test should be used to determine teachers’ capacity gap and tailored specific training programmes to improve their capacities,” he said.

On his part, the NUT National President said he was aware of the development, adding that the National Executive Council of the union would sit on Wednesday, June 22 to come up with a position.

RESOLUTIONS OF THE CONGRESS OF AAU, EKPOMA WORKERS (NON-TEACHING) HELD TODAY (09/06/22).

Arising from the Special Announcement released by Edo State Government, suspending Union activities in state-owned tertiary institutions in the state, the Non-teaching staff of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; under the auspices of JAC,AAU, EKPOMA (NON-TEACHING STAFF) deliberated on the special announcement as it affects the Non-teaching staff of the University.

The JAC Congress of AAU, EKPOMA in session, noted the activities that led to the suspension of Unions in tertiary institutions in Edo State, which was the purported protest by students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; which took place in Benin City, on Tuesday, 8th June, 2022.

Congress also noted that the planned protest was to blackmail University based Unions in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, before the state government. It is rather unfortunate that the state government had to yield to the antics of the University Management, without recourse to hearing from the affected Unions, before pronouncing the suspension.

Congress wish to inform the general public that the crisis rocking Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; are not far fetched from the activities of the immediate past administration of the University, led by Prof. I.A. Onimawo (from May, 2016 to May, 2021) which the state government could not address; in spite of the efforts made by the unions in the University to bring the issues to the attention of the His Excellency. Rather, the government preferred to suspend unions whose members have contributed immensely and sacrificially to sustain the University; even in the face of unfavourable working conditions without resorting to strike.

To further inform the general public that the ongoing strike which the workers of AAU are participating in, is a nationwide strike, which was declared by the National Headquarters of the various University-based Unions. One therefore, wonder why the University Management or the state government would want to stop AAU workers from participating in a strike declared by registered and recognized University Unions.

After exhaustive deliberations, AAU Workers Congress in session resolved as follows:

1). That the Non-teaching staff of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, will continue to prosecute the ongoing nationwide strike without breaking away from the national directive;

2). That the State Government should urgently address issues bedeviling the University to avoid a local strike after the nationwide strike;

3). That the Congress hereby withdraw all concessions, including staff of Principal Officers’ office; and

4). That all members of JAC, AAU EKPOMA should stay away from offices until further directive from the national JAC.

Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called on his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to immediately zone its presidential ticket for the 2023 general elections to the North East region.

Kalu, a former governor of Abia, made the call while congratulating the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for electing a presidential candidate from the North East, a zone he has always clamoured for to produce the next President outside the South East.

The Senator who has never hidden his preference for Senate President Ahmad Lawan as President Muhammadu Buhari's worthy successor, called on the president to support and pick Lawan as his successor.

Kalu said with the emergence of a Northeasterner (Atiku Abubakar) as PDP flag bearer, it was no longer feasible for the APC to field a Southern candidate in the 2023 presidential election except the ruling party wants to go on political retirement.

Taking to his Facebook page, Kalu wrote:
“Congratulations to the PDP for electing a North Easterner. Nigerians must have seen what I saw yesterday. For our party the APC, it is no longer feasible to talk about Southern candidates except the APC want to go on political retirement.

I urge the National Chairman of the party and the entire NWC to stamp their feet and zone APC presidential ticket to the North East.

President Muhammad Buhari has a right to choose his successor and I call on him to pick Senator Ahmad Lawan as his successor. In every democratic setting, presidents and Governors support and pick their successors. I call on President Buhari to pick a successor from the North East and that will be the equity the South East needs. With the North East, the cycle will be closest to completion of regions producing the president of Nigeria.

By now, all APC aspirants should drop their ambition and support a North Easterner. Senator Ahmad Lawan is the destination.

Congratulations to the North East as we look forward to a president of Nigeria from the North East.”

Corps members serving in Sokoto State, especially those in Sokoto metropolis, have been advised to remain at home due to the 24-hour curfew announced by the state government.

CAMPUS GIST recalls that Governor Aminu Tambuwal had on Saturday, declared a 24-hour curfew on Sokoto metropolis, following violent protests by some zealots.

The protesters were seeking the release of some suspects arrested by security agencies for the murder of Miss Deborah Samuel, on Thursday.

Deborah, a 200-level Home Economics student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was lynched and burnt over alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.

Public Relations Officer of the NYSC in Sokoto State, Malam Sani Idris, in a statement obtained by CAMPUS GIST on Sunday, said Corps members are to remain indoors until further notice.

Idris added that the NYSC management had contacted all the security agencies, to ensure the safety of its corps members throughout the curfew period and beyond.

“Arrangements have also been made for the Police and Army patrol vehicles to intensify surveillance in all of the corps members’ locations.

“Management urged corps members to remain calm and law abiding at all time and also assured them that things would soon return to normalcy in the state,” he added.

Nigerian singer Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has urged the Federal Government to make the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme optional.

In an interview with Channels TV, Banky W said, “At least half of the young people who do NYSC might not need it. You have people that go for NYSC and they just sign a paper somewhere and give somebody money, so that they say they have it and then go off and do whatever.”

The singer further asked, “Is that program really achieving what it was meant to?

“Can we consider amending the constitution so that we can say that this thing is no longer compulsory, it is optional?”

The National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria has commended the Lagos State Government for shutting down Christland Schools following an alleged sexual scandal among some of its students.

All Chrisland Schools in the state were ordered closed following a sex video of minor students of the school that went viral.

The government noted that the closure of Chrisland Schools across the state was to allow for proper investigation.

Sources said the parents of a 10-year-old girl seen in the video were insisting that she was raped.

The state government however, said it was investigating the allegations.

The government had in a statement issued on Monday to newsmen in Lagos stated that its attention was drawn to the alleged sexual violence case involving students of Chrisland Schools, which occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

They went to participate in the World School Games from March 10 to March 13, 2022.

Adeolu Ogunbanjo, Deputy National President of the NAPTAN, while reacting to the development, lauded the Lagos State Government for the swift move, describing it as a first and right step in the right direction.

Ogunbanjo, however, expressed sadness at the development, which, according to him, is not in anyway a rape case as claimed by the mother of the suspended pupil in the viral video.

He said: “I fully support the step taken by the Lagos State Government.

“The schools should remain closed.

“I trust the Lagos State Commissioner for Education in ensuring that thorough investigations commences immediately.

“Honestly, it is a shame and a very sad one.

“I have watched the video and from what I saw there, it is as a result of poor parenting, indiscipline and improper counselling on sex education.

“There is also administrative deficit because even though they are children, boys and girls are not supposed to be together in same hotel room as seen in the video.”

He also condemned the approach of the Chrisland Schools Management on the development, adding that since March, they ought to have informed their parents and carried them along immediately.

Ogunbajo emphasised the need for the issue to be properly addressed as people were likely to have negative impression about the school, with over seven branches across the state.

He added: “The case of late Sylvester Oromoni of Dowen College, Lekki is still fresh in people’s memory and now this one, all in private schools.

“I mean it is disheartening, considering the ages of the students involved.”

Days after the report of alleged sexual molestation levelled against a professor at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Joseph Opefeyitimi, hit the cyberspace, the accused Don has broken his silence on the allegation.

A female student of the institution, Boluwatife Hannah had dragged Opefeyitimi before a university panel last month, claiming she was “violated” by the professor.

She said the professor sexually molested her during a visit to his office on March 18, 2022, a petition addressed to the school’s Vice-Chancellor, Tope Ogunbodede, stated.

However, responding to the allegations, the Professor of Yoruba Incantations and Stylistics at the African Language Department, in a letter to the Department’s head said the panel should dismiss the petition instituted by the affected student, Boluwatife Hannah as she was his fiancee of four years.


•The letter
Opefeyitimi claimed whatever happened in his office was consensual and had been initiated by Hannah. He also said the allegations levelled against him by the female student were ”a ploy to escape marrying him”.

The don’s letter dated March 26 reads: “I am Professor Joseph A. Opefeyitimi, sorry for replying a little late. I was not at home and instructed my family members to take the letters for me.

“Truly, Babafemi Boluwatife Hannah was in my office on Thursday the 17th March, 2022. All that happened in my office was consensual and she was the one that called for it. I never knew she had a grand master’s plan for me.

“I thought as husband and wife to be right from before she got admission into our department, I could leave her to treat me the way she wanted. I called her as a result of the situation in town because she lives there and she actually came to update me.

”There are too many lies in her write-ups. For instance, while paragraph three was true, paragraph four was self-contradictory. Again, her claim of indecent assault in paragraph eleven that I, “sexually assaulted, molested and violated” her between 1:23 pm she entered my office and the 2 pm I had to take my son from school, which I did, must be substantiated because it turned the whole allegation from civility, tending towards criminality. This is why I am involving a lawyer.

“I am suggesting by way of appeal that my lawyer be made to witness all proceedings relating to this case. In fact, I will be grateful if he could be made to sit if only as an observer at today’s 12 noon Departmental panel.

“In summary, Boluwatife is my wife to be. She was responsible for all that happened in my office on that day. If after four years of dating, waiting to consummate our union, she suddenly turned around to be cleverly taking pictures of the body parts as evidence to indict me, I must not handle the case alone, since my wife at home is privy to our relationship.

“Since our relationship was being planned towards marriage after her graduation, I already took my wife into confidence on in, even though the lady wants the relationship to be kept secret. It is now I can understand why she wanted the relationship kept secret and that she had never been sincere.

“I want the panels to discountenance and dismiss the petition. It is a ploy to escape marrying me despite her promise and all the assistance I have rendered to her including the awards she had taken within the period of her studentship.”

Chrisland: Sharing Child Porn video could land you in jail, Lagos govt warns

The Lagos State Government on Monday warned that sharing or receiving images depicting child pornography is an offense under its laws that can attract a sentence of up to 14 years.

The warning comes amid reports that some students of Chrisland schools were involved in a case of alleged sexual violence in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The government had ordered the shutdown of all Chrisland schools within the state pending further investigations into the matter.

“We also use this medium to remind the general public that any person who engages in any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a child, commits an offence and is liable to custodial sentence of fourteen (14) years,” the government said.

“This includes ‘producing, distributing, receiving, or possessing an image of child pornography’”.

Alleged abuse

A video showing the mother of an alleged victim calling for help went viral on Monday, sparking controversy and debate.

She claimed that Chrisland had sought to cover up the matter.

In the video shared by one Ubi Franklin, she further claimed that Chrisland suspended her daughter once the school found out she was aware of the gravity of the alleged abuse.

Chrisland is yet to officially respond to the allegations.

In an indefinite suspension letter sighted by Channels Television and signed by Chrisland’s Head Teacher, G.I. Azike, the school said the alleged victim “with a few of her counterparts willfully participated in a game they called ‘Truth or Dare’, a game which led her and a few other co-learners to carry out immoral act after the lights out instruction was given.”

The school said all efforts to inform her parent about the incident “has proved to be futile.”

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) on Monday performed a groundbreaking for an ultra-modern recreation centre at the Ekewan campus of the institution.

Laying the foundation, the SUG President, Mr Foster Amadin, said the union attracted the project to prove that both the Ekewan and Ugbowo were one UNIBEN.

The project, he added, would also address the complaint by students on the campus that they had been maligned and sidelined.

“It was part of fulfilling the promises made during our election.

“They also have complained of not having a single relaxation spot in their campus environment as it is either they are in their hostel or classrooms.

“Despite the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), there is need to keep to promises in serving the general interest of the students which we have sworn to represent.

“Basically, we hope to see to the finishing of the project in a month time so students can charge their phones, relax and enjoy in the comfort of a modern relaxation spot upon resumption,” he said.

The students union leader assured the students that his administration would always go for anything that was beneficial to them, as that what they had sworn to do.

He commended the UNIBEN Alumni Association in North America for financing and powering this project and also the management of the university for its support.

Amadin stated that the SUG under him was committed to achieve more projects subsequently.

He, however, lamented the prolonged industrial action by the ASUU, saying that the students union will not keep mute forever if the strike was not called off on earnest.

The striking non-academic workers of Nigerian Universities have extended the ongoing two-week warning strike for another two weeks, owing to the Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government's failure to meet demands.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), in a statement on Friday, also directed all states’ local chapters to hold congresses Monday, to decide on next move.

CAMPUS GIST recalls that the non-academic workers had commenced a two-week warning strike on March 27 over the inability of the Federal Government to meet their demands.
